In a world where angels and demons collide, I’ve always felt out of place. It all changed the night my wings appeared, marking me as something other than ordinary. Now, I spend my nights hunting demons in the dark corners of the city, sending them back to the underworld where they belong.
But now I'm the one being hunted.
The Celestials have set their sights on me. They insist I belong to their kind, yet their trust is as fleeting as the shadows I chase. They promised they’d protect me. I believed them. I was wrong.
The Arcangels see me as an abomination—a mistake that should never have been created. But I can’t shake the feeling that they’re hiding something behind their flawless exteriors and cold, empty gazes. I’ve learned they hold something that’s rightfully mine, and now I need to convince a handful of their fiercest warriors to trust me and help me get it back.
They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. But I’ve come to realize that the path to heaven might just be littered with blood, secrets, and betrayal.
I spend 95% of my life huddled in my little office, at my little desk, vividly hallucinating about characters and scenarios that don't exist. Then I write it all down for you to enjoy!
This story was really good. I liked the spin on Christianity lore. The ending was rushed in my opinion. I’m not sure why the author skipped a month’s time frame, which I feel could have been a good spot for relationship building and steamy bits. The relationships between the FMC and the men were surface level at best, there was no reasons for why they all fell in love within 2 months; it was all “I don’t understand this pull but I’m done fighting it.” This is supposed to be a duet, but I was unable to find any info on book two; which leaves these shortcomings unsolved.
Our FMC Raven is aware of both demons and celestials and she also knows that she isn't human, but she doesn't quite know what she is. For years she's been hunting and killing demons that prey on humans. Following some social media presence, she has drawn the attention of not only the celestials but another man that she doesn't quite know what he is. Laz is secretive and obsessive but he seems genuinely intrigued by Raven. Raven is captured and then escapes three celestials Orion, Noah, and Ciro. They convince her to return to their island with them so they can figure out what she is. Orion doesn't trust her and is quite cruel to her. Meanwhile, Noah and Ciro's interest in her is immediate.
I really enjoyed Raven's development as she learned more about herself and her family. She's definitely a bad b. I wanted to smack Orion on the regular. Noah and Ciro? Love them. Laz...a little crazy but I also love him. This story was entertaining and well written. I look forward to the next book to see how it all wraps up.
The FMC Raven , Is Seriously Bada$$ And Beautiful inside and out, even though she is lost. She and the Celestial beings, (and other) that she gets entangled with makes her have to go through alot of trials and tribulations!!! There's something to be said for a young woman who believes in herself, and yet feels so insecure. She lives in a safe bubble of her choosing and appreciates her life even without understanding many things. Raven knows in her heart the difference between right and wrong, and discovers for herself the difference between good and evil, no matter what their titles claim them to be!! Many lives are turned upside down, You'll feel sooo many different ways, from excited, scared, and vulnerable to sexy, strong and courageous!! The war has just begun, and I can't wait to see what comes next with Raven and her men!!
Oh Yesss! This is the second book I have finished by Mrs Cassidy in the last ummm well let's say 24 hours. OH you thought I was playing when I said I was about to binge thus author huh? Well jokes on you
Anyway, this was another amazing story. I am so very excited to see what Mrs Cassidy does with this story line. Thank goodness I still have more books of hers to read because I seriously have an appetite for her stories at this point. Maybe I should slow down before I have nothing left....
OMMFG I'm in love with this book, and cannot wait to see what happens next!! Raven is amazing and I 😭😠 for all that has happened to her, yet am happy for the good that happened. Her men, her mother and father😭, and her friend's. She is now ready to wage war and win it with her Legion. Is it bad though that I am hoping she gains more men 💜 because I feel that she deserves more love!!
I chose this rating because I sped through this book, the action, description and romance had me very interested! The ending was something I didn't imagine happening but it was a decent ending. I enjoyed having the series compiled together
Action+lore+🔥🔥🔥sexy times = a rating of 4.5. This would also work as a stand alone, but I’m here for book 2! I’ll read anything that Penn Cassidy writes. She’s that good and her books are that hot!
