What happens when you accidentally kidnap a Fae King, invite a demented vampire queen to bunk with you, and enlist both to plot revenge against the dragons?
Violet doesn't know yet, but she's about to find out.
Her little jaunt to the fae lands ended with Violet carrying more luggage out than she brought in. Now, with a ticked off Unseelie King brooding and tied up in the corner, she has to figure out how to smooth relations while also deciphering Michael's newest plans.
Toss in a sullen traitor, an emotional fairy, and a human(ish?) law enforcement officer sniffing around, and Violet's juggling more balls than she knows what to do with.
As if that's not bad enough, Violet receives one final visitor to her bar the night before she visits the dragons, and this one is a real doozy…
Welcome to Swan's, where the creatures are weird, the drinks are potent, and the antics are completely unhinged.

How many ‘romantic potentials’ are going to be flaunted before us only to have them betray her or leave?
At the end of book 2 and the beginning of 3, we think we know who Violet may be getting romantically involved with, only to have that just CEASE completely. Then another one enters, seems like it might be a go, and now he’s gone, too.
I’m disappointed. The rest of the storyline is okay. I love the Clara aspect. I loved the whole dragon clan escapade and especially the ice cream afterwards. (Might be my favorite part of the ENTIRE series, so far.) But…the lack of romance is really being felt.
Another thing that’s been bugging me throughout the entire series is that within each book, I’ve caught inconsistencies. Michael knowing who she was, saying it, no reaction, then later on, everyone acting all surprised when he ‘realizes’ who she is.
There are many other instances just like this and it lends me to believe things were moved around within the storyline, but the overall cohesivity wasn’t there. And I’m honestly surprised an editor/beta readers didn’t catch it.

The author has painted themself into a corner where every possible new character has to be more powerful than the last. And we met the literal devil in book 2, so you can see why this is lagging by this book. Main character is of course more powerful than even she knows, which gets very trite by this point in the series.
The most upsetting thing is that interesting characters flash in and out of the series without being developed into interesting personas. And the ones who stay are only interesting because of the next ridiculous thing that they will say/do.
The series started out decently with an interesting plot and world but by this point has petered out. The world seemed well-defined at the beginning but now feels very confused.

Violet has been betrayed. And betrayed again. And possibly betrayed, but not necessarily… As it stands, she has a fae king on hand, a vampire dumped on her doorstep, and then there is Dave. What with plotting vengeance on dragons and faeries, dealing with a psychotic archangel, and maybe one or two political ramifications, she certainly has her hands full!
There is a whole lot happening in this fourth book in the series (yes you need to have read the previous three first), which pivots us yet again. Violet is a definite magnet for all kinds of trouble, but she is also lucky enough to seemingly always find her feet, and make a friend of two. Which is only unusual for Violet!
This is a fast paced, action filled book, with a plot that keeps you guessing, and a cast of characters that is always entertaining. Even with the fate of the world being at risk, it’s a lighthearted story with fun people in it. This is for those who enjoy their urban fantasy filled with chaotic energy, interesting beings, and an overarching plot that only keeps you one step away from a bad end!
The archangels aren’t saviors here—they lean toward the demonic. Lucifer steps in as a worried father, while Violet herself grows darker and more violent, shifting the series into a more ruthless direction. Even the familiar bar regulars reveal unexpected power, dragons finally meet their reckoning, and Michael returns once again—not as an ally, but as a dangerous adversary.
This is a story where loyalty is tested at every turn. Bonds once thought unshakable begin to fracture, betrayal lurks in the closest of places, and Violet’s found family must navigate both heartbreak and deception. Nothing feels secure, which makes every twist land harder.
What I appreciated most about this installment is how it steps further away from biblical reinterpretations and leans into the mystical creature side of the world. Accepting the biblical twists as part of the series fabric let me get lost more easily this time, and I found myself drawn deeper into Violet’s unpredictable, perilous journey.
After Violet’s visit to the Fae realm, she brought back the King of the Fae. He’s been kept without magic but is friendly enough to Violet. As she is planning her revenge on the dragons, he gradually comes around to help her. With the assistance of Clara, the vampire queen and Dave, the octopus shifter who is much more than he seems, they set off to get her vengeance. Things definitely don’t go the way it was planned. Surprise! There is action, surprises, suspense, a lot of humour and of course all the different powerful men Violet is attracted to. But so far, no romance. This book is like the others in the series, a lot of fun to read with a growing group of allies and enemies. Nothing really goes the way you expect it to. I’m really enjoying this series, it has a lot of interesting twist and turns. I’m glad I found this author and series, definitely worth it.
A thrilling ride that transported me to a magical world. This book hit all the right spots. It was as a roller coaster of emotions, and I wouldn't change a thing. Action, adventure, friendship, comedy, and more, it was amazing. I laughed and cried throughout the book. Violet is the best kind of heroine, she is a bad a** with a heart of gold. The whole gang is like a book family I would love to be apart of. Good vs. Evil, A war that could destroy everything.. Both sides are gathering their armies for the final battle, planning, and strategizing. The ending has left me wanted the next book right now, so many more exciting stories to look forward to.
Wow what a fantastic addition to Violets story.... I love the hijinks she get up to and in to.... and she has a new BFF that I love.... and oh how the relationship with Luicfer is growing... love how they are with each other the snark and exasperation lol.... oh boy the possible love interests for Violet keep coming. Will Lachlan be back? Where is Landry? Jude oh Jude! And I am absolutely squeaking in delight at who shows up right at the end. But come on what a cliff hanger....... oh did I mention that you all will just not see what happens with Dave! Not a freaking chance
The ending is hilarious! That's two books in a row with funny endings. I absolutely love Clara. She has really grown on me. I love that she moved in with Violet. And who knew that Dave was so powerful or his real identity. There are two people who betray Violet. One I think had no choice. I absolutely loved Violets revenge on the dragons. It was crazy genius. However, I am sorry so many died. The fact that Violet stole all their hoard is fantastic! I just hope she can wiggle out of being in the emperor s clutches. Of course, it's another hot guy. How many does that make? Lol!
Wow each book gets better and better I can't believe how interesting the books are I read many books that are good but this one keeps you interested and wanting to read the next one and I'll be sad with the last one comes because that would mean there'll be no more books I'm hoping that's a writer will make right more books in this series a lot more books kind of like Pierce Anthony and his xanth novels I read all those and this author is on the same scale as he is comical serious and sweet and lovable characters
Oh my goodness this book is absolutely amazing. Violet and the gang will keep you entertained from beginning to end and leave you wanting more. Dave will have you laughing out loud. So many secrets and still more answers to come. I can’t wait for the next book. Loved it
This series has been wonderful! I can't remember the last time I read a series that surprised me as much as this one. Unexpected turn of events were terrific. I laughed out loud so often ( my hubby thinks I'm cracked)! This whole series has been a number one in my book!!!
I just cant get enough of Violet and her circle of friends. There is a lot of action in this book. Dave is not who Violet thought he was, she becomes friends with a vampire, she has to rescue her friend, and she gets her revenge on a dragon. I will be reading the next book in the series.
With the first book, I was unsure, but intrigued. There was a lot going on I really liked, especially Keelie! Now I’m on the 5th book. I’ve been reading them quickly back to back. I’m loving it! I very much wish I could watch this play out on a show- it’s perfect! How can we make this happen!?! So thankful I randomly found these! I’d read 20 of these back to back! Thank you for such an enjoyable read <3!
Betrayal is everywhere, in fae, with contracted allies, with friends and co-workers. As the angels try to kill Violet, along with the rest of the bar, a sleepy friend steps up. That bit of mayhem is averted until Violet finds a friend has been kidnapped. She risks much to enact a rescue.
Story is stilling running toward the chaotic, but certainly interesting. Fortunately, there are sufficient appealing characters that it is easy to want to see what happens next. Have to say, though. This girl has some REALLY bad luck with men in her life.
I am absolutely in LOVE with this series! Book 4 did NOT disappoint. Violet is in it again, and I can't wait to see what happens next! 10 out of 10 recommend. It's witty, it make you feel all the feels. It's just a great series!
This is probably my favorite book in this series! The characters are evolving and more are being brought into the story the plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. I can’t wait for the next book!!
A Dash of Vampire, book four of the Cocktails in Hell series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Is it possible for this series to get better? Why yes, it can and does. Lachlan adds quite a bit of levity and personality, and Dave? Who knew. This series is wonderful.
This story captured my heart. It is a rollercoaster of emotions. We celebrate a success only to cringe at the next hurdle to be passed. It is exciting. Can’t wait to read book 5. Highly recommend this book and the series.
This series just gets better and better. Violet is slowly amassing an army just by being nice. Well and killing an entire keep of dragons. Oops! Can't wait to read the next in the series.
The hits keep coming! I have usually lost interest in a story by book 4 but not THIS bunch. The books are short, fun, laugh out loud pure entertainment! Take time, enjoy the chaos!
What a delightful and unexpected introduction of new characters and depths to old acquaintances. This one was a riot and very enjoyable. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The 4th book in the series is truly fabulous. So much happens and their is good times and very bad times. The. Ending rocks! Can’t wait for the next one.
