**This book doesn't contain any sex scenes, but due to subject matter is appropriate for ages 16 and older.**
Rachel Wesson was born in Kilkenny, Ireland but considers herself to be from the capital, Dublin as that's where she spent most of her life. Her dad brought Rachel and her two sisters out every Saturday to give their mother a break. He took them to the library and for ice-cream after. It took a long time for her sisters to forgive her for the hours she spent choosing her books! She grew up driving everyone nuts asking them questions about what they did during the War or what side they were on in the 1916 rising etc. Finally her Granny told her to write her stories down so people would get the pleasure of reading them. In fact what Granny meant was everyone would get some peace while Rachel was busy writing! When not writing, or annoying relatives, Rachel was reading. Her report cards from school commented on her love of reading especially when she should have been learning. Seems you can't read Great Expectations in Maths. After a doomed love affair and an unpleasant bank raid during which she defended herself with a tea tray, she headed to London for a couple of years. (There is a reason she doesn't write romance!). She never intended staying but a chance meeting with the man of her dreams put paid to any return to Ireland. Having spent most of her career in the City, she decided something was missing. Working in the City is great but it's a young person's dream. Having three children you never see isn't good for anyone. So she packed in the job and started writing. Thanks to her amazing readers, that writing turned into a career far more exciting and rewarding than any other. Rachel lives in Surrey with her husband and three children, two boys and a girl. When not reading, writing or watching films for "research" purposes, Rachel likes to hang out with her family. She also travels regularly back home - in fact she should have shares in BA and Aerlingus.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review!
Another incredible book by Rachel! Erin blows into Clover Springs like a tornado! Healing the broken and loving the hurting, are just a few of Doc Erin's amazing skills! You are going to want to read this book and the whole series if you're not caught up yet!
Erin came from a rich family, but often worked in the New York slums. She worked hard to become a doctor like her uncle. She was one month from taking her final exam to become a doctor, when the school dismissed her. Running from the scandal, she decided to look for a position at a hospital in Denver. Her mother was returning to Ireland and asked her to carry a package to Father Molloy in Clover Springs.
Mick Quinn has returned to Clover Springs from his farm in Virginia. He rents the farm, but returns each year hoping that his three sisters have returned after the Civil War. He was a soldier at age thirteen, and he hopes a good family adopted his sisters. They would be adults now with families of their own now. Yet time has come for Mick to put the past behind and find a wife of his own.
Mick mistakes Erin for a mail-order bride at the train station, but soon sees her doctoring knowledge as his helps a logger injured at the saw mill. Both are attracted to each other, but Erin is determined to never marry. They are thrown together in several more incidents as Erin needs a guide to travel to rough areas in the mountains to help heal others.
Clover Springs hires the female doctor to help their Doc. But scandal soon catches up with Erin.
Moving story of the plight of women in this era. Also a story of abuse. Emotional healing through love for Mick and Erin.
It's hard to ignore the past to live in the present

A very moving story. Really hard to believe people thought women couldn't be Doctors or lawyers or anything besides wives and mothers. A very good story. I couldn't put it down.
Wow so much happened in this story I do not know where to begin except I loved it! Erin and Mick both have a past that they have to overcome before they can be together. - Babs
The author has written a very compassionate and entertaining story of the life of a young female doctor and how she is able to overcome many hardships and challenges. A very enjoyable and entertaining reading.
Rachel Wesson has given readers a series of stories that are based on reality of the times and some still have relevance today. Erin and Kid's story is one of those and is written compassionately.
I love this book and this series. I wish I could live in Clover Springs. I'm glad Doc Erin got everything straightened out from her past and settled in Clover Springs
Yes! Thank you for writing and sharing another story from Clover Springs!!! These are wonderful stories and I have loved each of them! I look forward to reading more.
Everyone has secrets from the past. In Clover Springs is known as Dr. Erin Brennan. What's her secret? Some people in the town at first didn't see the need for a female doctor. With in a few days she saved the young mill owners life, after having a horrible accident. She stopped off here to deliver a gift to Fr. Molloy who married her Ma & Pa in NY. She had a gift for him. She gets involved in many ways trying make the town better. She gets to know Mick Quinn who she likes very much. How far will this romance go? There are so many great characters in this book. Murder, danger and much more. If you liked this type of book it is a must read. I loved reading it, enjoy. Rachael Wesson is a talented writer.
Interesting story ! I liked this one because it keeps you guessing where its going. The story holds your interest and isn't predictable! Makes for a good read!
A lot of challenges for this young woman doctor as she seeks to fulfil a commitment to her mother while searching for a place where she will be accepted and her skills appreciated. I enjoyed how the author portrayed her and Mick, as well as some of the other characters. Since I haven't read all the books in the series, I did get a little lost keeping track of so many characters. However, the plot and descriptions of the action scenes were great. Definitely worth reading.
Erin is trying to make her way as a doctor in a male world. She arrives at Clover Springs and is immediately needed to help several citizens. Favorite part is how Erin stood up to several of the town's bullies.
