When I chose this audiobook, I didn't check the authors because the stunning cover and the title immediately caught my attention. As I began listening, I was both excited and surprised to discover that the book covers topics related to Neurographica, which is my preferred form of therapeutic art. When Colette, the narrator and one of the authors, mentioned Anna Denning, I felt compelled to double-check, and indeed, it was the same Anna I had taken a Neurographica course with! This revelation made me even more enthusiastic about the book.
I love that this book introduces new therapeutic art techniques that incorporate elements from various styles. I appreciated how the content was presented and all the new insights I gained. It’s one of those books that is best experienced in both paperback and audiobook formats. Following the instructions while listening makes it easier since you don't have to concentrate on reading alone; having the visual elements in front of you is a real plus.
Another essential aspect to note is that this is not just a book to read once; it’s one you’ll want to return to again and again.
I absolutely recommend this book if you enjoy artistic meditation or manifestation!
2/5 Disappointed in this book. I have a # of Colette's card decks and absolutely love them. But this book wasn't up to her usual standards. I had attended Colette's first livestream of this process ... it was easy, delightful and I had great results. I found the book dull and onerous to read. Took me days, and even then was skimming through. The text doesn't sound like her usual joyful self. Instead was school marmy and not my cup of tea. Sorry, Colette, this one (but not your process) is a big "miss" for me.
