For the uninitiated, this book would definitely help someone to bring up to speed, probably in the quickest way possible and for others, it would be a refresher of sorts. This book delivers on its promise albeit with a rider, that the text should be used as a supplement to a more thorogh treatise on this subject.
For a book that explains the simplified version of microeconomics textbooks, this book fulfills what it wants to achieve. With quick and to the point explanation, this book is very useful for people who wants to get quick in-depth before entering subject of economics (or microeconomics), for refreshing your mind about the subject, or as a supplementary when paired with your college textbook.
Good book, and it is needed to be reminded (written on the book) that the purpose of this book is not to replace your textbook. Also I'm really thankful for the additional resources that the author gave in this b0ok. It is very useful if you want to completely understand microeconomics.
Since I am to teach a course in health economics for the first time after taking several economics courses in the late 1980s, I thought it might be good to refresh my knowledge in microeconomics. I wanted to find a book that would give me a foundational knowledge. This book fit the bill covering basic economic principles and different type of markets. Each chapter includes a sumary of major points and a glossary of economic terms. I found this book so easy to read and comprehend, I am asking each student to purchase this book, too, as a reference of basic concepts if needed.
This was a great book to get started learning about economics. The writing is clear and easy to understand, and there are a lot of charts & graphs as visuals.
Because it's so short, it left me with a lot of questions. I actually wish it had been a bit more detailed or covered some of the topics more. But overall it's a great jumping off point for someone who is new to microeconomics.
A quick read to get to know about the very basics of microeconomics and to get familiar with all the economics jargons..I read it before taking my first economics course and it really gave me an edge as I was familiar with most of the basics after reading this book..
If I am being quite honest this is better as a textbook then the textbook that they gave and college courses. Maybe it doesn't have the entire amount, But it does help understanding microeconomics.
