I have survived the worst. I have come out of the darkness with my sanity intact.Now, I get to meet the monster holding me here. For the first time since my captivity began, I get to meet Stonehart.Whatever he wants, I'll be ready. The collar may be tight around my neck, but I will not be a prisoner.A prisoner has no choice. A prisoner has no purpose.But a concubine, on the other hand? She always has a choice.And today, I choose to fight.-Uncovering You 2: Submission continues the story begun in Uncovering The Contract. It contains scenes of intense emotional and physical abuse. Readers with sensitivity to such subjects are advised to proceed with caution.
I live near beautiful Seattle, Washington. I grew up reading all types of fantasy books before discovering the wonderful world of romances in high school.

I avoid serials like they’re the plague. To be honest, I wasn't too thrilled with the first part so whether or not I liked this second part in the Uncovering You series would determine if I wanted to continue with J.S. and Lilly’s captive/captor story. So I’m really happy to say that yes, I loved this installment (though it’s still too short for my tastes) and am anxiously awaiting the next!
Submission swiftly continues where The Contract left off, and Lilly, out of starvation and hunger, has just given in to Jeremy Stonehart’s (J.S.) requirements and signed the contract, thereby binding her to him (like an employee to boss, except in here, it’s a sexual agreement). What made this installment work for me was Lilly’s character. In my dark reads, I like when the heroine isn’t a wilted flower; outwardly, Lilly acts broken and meek but what she really is doing is plotting. Planning. Searching for anything that can help her get out of the hellhole she’s in. With Jeremy constantly reminding her of what she is and who she belongs to, along with her personal agenda, she never loses track of her objective.
“I hate that collar. I hate what it represents. I hate what it can do. It will never let me forget that I am a prisoner.”
“I will forget nothing he does. I will have vengeance, and I will bring Stonehart down.”
As for Jeremy, he’s the perfect captor and anti-hero! I love when authors portray the captor for who he is and not gloss over any details in fear that readers will think he’s too dark.
“What kind of man am I? The kind who can, Lilly. And the kind who does. I can do this to you, so I do.”
Though I was a bit disheartened to still not know why Lilly was taken captive in the first place, the author does a fine job of portraying her captivity life and Jeremy and Lilly’s daily interactions. Any and all sexual scenes are oddly arousing and once again, the ending leaves the reader with an anticipatory feeling. It’s not an immediate cliffhanger, but rather a slow burn; like you know what’s going to happen next and must wait an agonizing few weeks to read it.

****4 WTF CRAZY DISTURBING STARS****
Uncovering You 2: Submission picks off where it last left off in the first installment. Out of desperation, Lilly finally succumbs into signing the contract where she agrees to Jeremy Stonehart’s demands. Lilly survival instincts kicks in...she must not let Jeremy break her spirit and own her. He may have her physically but she will not let him trample her hope of escaping and living in terms with the contract. As for accepting the contract, Jeremy allows Lilly to roam around the house but she must abide to his rules. Jeremy Stonehart is either hot or cold; he can be giving or domineering/controlling. In this second installment, Jeremy was just plain cold-blooded mean and cruel. The mind games and mind f*ck he plays with Lilly can only be described as ruthless and unforgiving. His domineering presence scares Lilly but at the same time she still has this inner fighter strength lurking inside. She tries to fight back Jeremy but he is too strong. In one particular scene in this installment, we are reminded of the power Jeremy controls over Lilly. He constantly keeps tabs on her throughout the house, has an electric taser/collar around her neck, and his ever present domineering appearance to remind Lilly that she is his. He OWNS her. So what will become of Lilly? Will she fight or will she succumb to submission?
My Thoughts:
Overall, Uncovering You 2: Submission was one crazy WTF read. You couldn’t put the book down because you wanted to know more about Jeremy Stonehart and what makes this man TICK. Personally, I think Jeremy is cruel. I have yet to see any redeemable qualities in him but I’m hoping as the installments continue along that we get to see Jeremy’s progression to becoming likable. Warning, this installment ends with another cliffhanger….so now I must wait patiently to see what becomes of Lilly in book 3.
Jeremy Stonehart makes my skin crawl right now! I wanna cut his balls off!!!
Poor Lilly.... abducted... and now... ugh, I don't wanna say it!
I never really expected to what length the story would go! And OMG, I'm flabbergasted! ! I couldn't even care less about Jeremy's psychobabble. Man, what an A-hole! I've read a lot of bastard lead characters and Stonehart comes to the top of my list.
That said.... despite everything that Lilly is going through, she still tries to keep her sanity! I can't even imagine how she's doing it! It's crazy!
A must read if you like dark, edgy and whole lot of angst and mystery.
This takes us a step more to Lilly's torture and a hint of the kind of person Stonehart is. My mind is still reeling with so many questions though. And I am so thirsty for more. It is torture waiting for the next book!
Thank you Ms. Scarlett Edwards for the privilege!!!
I'm about to have heart palpitations from the rage I'm feeling right this moment.. This is PURE TORTURE!!! **SHOUTING**SHAKING FIST IN AIR**
So we started off with this beauty in the first installment and a hint of who the sadistic mystery KIDNAPPER was..
Lilly is hell bent on figuring out the why's of her predicament!!! What is it that Stonehart wants to accomplish by all of this..
Damn..... Stonehart is emotionless, coldhearted and just plain mean!! He has not given an inch what so ever and has beat Lilly to the punch EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
He won't relent until she's Completely HIS, Broken and at his MERCY... The only thing Lilly has left is Her Sanity which she's grasping at and her need to Destroy Him..
I was really looking forward to this book and somehow I'm a bit disenchanted. Here's why...it read like a lot of ideas from Aleatha Romig's Consequence inspired a lot of events here except this book is more condensed. By no means am I stating that Romig invented the whole captured by billion/uber rich dude kink that's been so popular these days. I mean you read one and it feels like you've read 50 noncon/dubious consent since the plots are getting snooze worthy for me. Hell, I've read captor stories for years on literotica.com, so I'm not stating that Romig is original by any means. A lot of these books are getting too similiar I admit, however the events of UY 2 and Consequences were too errily similiar for me. I couldn't help but feel that there were lots of similarities and it didn't sit well with me.
Let's see, a girl is captured and doesn't know why. Check. She signs contract with rich dude and now he owns her. Check. She's barred from human interactions until she proves herself worthy. Check. Her captor is rich, mysterious, and in his fourties whereas she's somewhere around her twenties. Check. There's a kind old maid (always the maid I tell ya). Check. There's a pool and she thinks about swimming in it. Check. He has dark features and is motivated by revenge to succeed and cannot stand it when others are not on time. Check. He gives her the lecture that behavior has consequences and rewards her for good behavior. Check. He watches her through surveillance. Check. Then makes her watch her own captivity and the rape. Check. The scene where he shows her the camera footage was almost a replica of the same scene in Consequence imho. Hmmm...getting the trend?
Maybe the author will do something that will totally surprise me and make me feel like I'm reading an entirely different book instead of Consequence reinvented. I was expecting mind fuckery, not Consequences retold.
I did a fast read on this one...gosh, there's no improvement at all! The story was a blur, I don't find the story that interesting. It's just the typical girl got abducted, raped and given consequences for their actions and rewards...etc.
It's disappointing coz I couldn't feel anything towards the characters, and there's not heat between the 2 main characters!! wtf! Please rewrite this... sorry to say this but the 1st two books sucks!
why am I still reading this? coz it's a waste If I don't, i already have the books so wtf not?
Update: 4/8/2014 4.5 Holding My Breath Stars Going into this I had no idea what to expect. When we first met Lilly she was chained to a pillar and practically suffocating in the dark. At the end of her rope Lilly signed the illustrious contract and only time would tell how that would play out. Unfortunately kiddies now is that time… Having figured out who her captor is, Lilly is ready. She is ready to face her captor and her time in captivity. Or so she thinks. Given her circumstances Lilly stands strong. She may be half starved and held against her will but Lilly is willing to do what she has to, even if that includes dealing one on one with Jeremy Stoneheart. This brings us to Jeremy Stoneheart. I want to hate him for many reasons and I do but at the same time there is something sick and twisted about him that makes you want to know more. He may be alluring and controlling but everything about him is captivating from the brief moments of human decency to the ones that make you want to knee him in the groin. Jeremy is the master at manipulation. Every time Lilly feels safe or above her circumstances Jeremy knocks her off kilter. Though he allows her some small conveniences like roaming his house there is still his ever present watchful eye that allows him to always control her and be one step ahead. The big question here is why is Stoneheart the way he is??? Is he even redeemable? At this point, I have no idea. I won’t lie and say the ending of this book is any better than the first. However I will say that the anticipation is at an all time high. Now that the monster is out of the bag, so to speak, it’s both frightening and exciting to see what happens next. As a big-time HATER of cliff-hangers for some reason these are not life-altering. Perhaps it’s because each part of the series illustrates a different theme within a larger picture or simply because you know the next part is coming soon and you’re willing to wait. I know I can’t. But I’ll be ready!!! There is both emotional and physical abuse this time so prepare yourself. Also make sure you read book #1 before as I wouldn’t suggest reading it as a stand-alone.
On a side note I have this to say to Jeremy…. And to Scarlet
Lilly has signed Jeremy Stonehart's contract thus making her his property for the next five years. HIS to do with as HE sees fit, in whatever manner HE chooses.
And so the game really begins.
Told from Lilly's POV, this dark erotica read picks up where Uncovering You: The Contract left off. Any reader of this serial series must keep in mind that the subject matter is dark and includes dub/non con BDSM scenes that may be disturbing.
No. No. No.... I read the first installment with much excitement with a side of hope. A dark erotica read that featured the S & M side of BDSM in a positive manner. We all have our kinks and sexual preferences so as long as it's consensual I'm a fan and avid reader of said book.
In this 'book' I am now doubting the core actions of Jeremy and any claim that he could be categorized as a Dom. Sure, there is a D/s slant to this read and Jeremy is obviously a sadist but there still is a code of behavior/conduct that needs to be present or the situation changes to a rapist/rape scenario. This is when I have to abide by the 'nonspoiler code of conduct' that prevents me from divulging info that backs up my opinion that Lilly is being abused and not in any good way. And. Before anyone claims I'm not being fair or can't appreciate fantasy capture stories I'd like to point out that I have read extremely dark/taboo stories that I've given five star ratings without any problem. The content in this book was a ride in the park for me. I just can't reconcile Lilly's role in this book as being anything other than an unwilling victim/sex slave in a sex trafficking scenario.
Adult content. There is m/f erotica in this book though there is a short semi voyeuristic f/f/f teaser scene that is more awkward than complimentary to the storyline. I include this for those readers who have concerns about same sex scenes. The actual m/f scenes are dark with a non-con flavor that focus more on the psychological D/s clusterfuck slant than the overly graphic or detailed depiction of scenes. The BDSM is solely in Jeremy's actions as a sadist Dom versus any actual "Dungeon" or FSOG "Red Room Of Pain" room which did surprise me as money doesn't seem to be a problem for Jeremy......
Serial Series. I had mentioned in the previous installment that I didn't have a problem recommending this series as the author has stated that each installment is "a fully-contained story with a climax and conclusion" though both installments have a cliffhanger ending. I'm now hedging on this for a variety of reasons which includes that I tried to find a word count as I do notice a large size font is being used and I have spacing concerns that had me wondering what the true end product was. I can't seem to locate this info so I guess it's up to any potential reader to weigh the value of being required to buy all the installments to receive the complete story or be satisfied with pieces for the listed purchase price of each installment. I also feel that each compartmentalized installment is fully dependent on the reader buying the follow ups as there isn't a completeness otherwise.
What kind of sick, masochistic torture is this? No really, I want to know. It’s bad enough that I’m experiencing Lilly’s torture as if it were my own. But I feel even more abused because I can’t just sit down and endure one night of abuse in order to find out what happens, I have to take it in small, spread out doses because this is part of a serial. If the goal is to make the reader feel more attuned to Lilly’s plight, then Scarlett Edwards has accomplished her goal. I really could feel Lilly’s despair. But seeing as how it’s only been a few weeks and I had to struggle to remember Lilly’s background story, I’m still inclined to think this would be better combined into one novel. (I have a feeling Lilly's past might end up being an important part of what's happening right now but I can’t recall the specific details anymore.)
In UNCOVERING YOU 2, Lilly has agreed to sign Jeremy Stonehart’s contract and is now learning exactly what that entails (only, of course, in Jeremy’s time and at his whim). Jeremy comes across as truly sadistic and I cringed at so many things he said and did. I completely empathized with Lilly’s actions and reactions. I was completely enthralled in the story despite the emotional pain I endured in reading it.
I gave UNCOVERING YOU 2: SUBMISSION 5 stars not because I loved it, because I kind of hated it in that *you took me to a really dark place and I hated being there but it was so well-written and so perfectly told that I couldn’t help but be sucked in* kind of way. So okay, maybe that sounds like I did love it; I was just so caught up in the story that I was repulsed by it’s darkness because it felt entirely too real. If you want a small piece of advice, I don’t recommend reading this as a bedtime story—you won’t like the dreams you have as a result! I don’t even want to know the darkness Ms. Edwards had to tap into to write this story or to create someone like Jeremy, but I’m dying to see what happens and more importantly, why. If you’re in the mood for a truly dark story, this serial is the one for you. I will be a glutton for punishment waiting impatiently for May 10th when UNCOVERING YOU #3 comes out.
**On a bright note, each subsequent book in the UNCOVERING YOU series is set to be released 20 days after the one before it, so at least the wait isn't too long between each book.
**Complimentary copy provided by the author/publisher for an honest review.
This book is the second installment for Uncovering You series. And mind you, it gets darker by the minute. It's the continuation of Lilly's story after being held captive by J.S. also known as Jeremy Stonehart, a multi-millionaire businessman who happens to enjoy things that's quite unnerving.
This book still doesn't tell us why Lilly was held captive, I guess that was the author's way to keep the readers guessing for the reason behind it.
Although the story is somehow the same compared to other captive/captor books that we read nowadays, Scarlett Edwards was able to create a captor that you will surely HATE and FEAR at the same time. In fact I have two words to describe him... demented psycho because despite Lilly's strong will to only act meekly in front of him, she can't help but throw her so-called bravery out the window when she faced him especially if he started acting like a deranged lunatic. Even I felt the same way while reading the scenes. I felt fear - and that's a first.
I don't know if Jeremy's main purpose is to broke Lilly's spirit then rebuilt it later or what. But despite everything, I must say that I admire how Lilly still continue to strategize her revenge. She's a strong woman after all.
I hate that the collar remains in Lilly's neck, a sure reminder that she is a prisoner and I sure HATE Jeremy... I hate him with a vengeance.
I find this book too short and I have yet to wait next month just to know what will happen next. But, the wait will definitely be worth it because the story gets better and better. And as always, can't wait for the next installment.

Uncovering You Part Two begins shortly after the cliffhanger in Part One. Each story in this serial is labelled after the core theme of the novella which I find unique and creative. Part Two focuses on Lilly’s submission in her situation. However, Lilly isn’t truly submissive and plots to overthrow her captor by feigning her submission- but everything isn’t black and white and what happens when she doesn’t know if she’s pretending anymore?
I easily read along with Lilly’s point of view and experienced her emotions as she did. When she is awarded with luxuries it definitely caused me to think what I would do in her situation? How would it feel to have everything money could buy at the price of freedom? I could smell the salt from the ocean as Lilly gazed wistfully out the windows and I felt her defeat as she was kept caged- with a view of freedom. Everything in this book played out in my mind as if I were watching a movie and I highly enjoy the author’s descriptive writing style.
We also finally meet J.S. or Jeremy Stonehart and discover what kind of man he is. Stonehart…where to begin? A cruel, vindictive, and malicious man- not one I’d label as a “broken” or “damaged” hero…no he is generally just sadistic. I haven’t met a male character where I felt no sympathy in a dark erotica book…until now.
For every one step of progress Lilly makes she’s thrust three steps back… and don’t be surprised but this book also ends with a dark cliffhanger.
Arc kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I'm still not hooked yet but it's getting better. _______ This was considerably darker than the first book. Usually with captive stories like these there a usually something even a little redeemable about the captor that allows you to fall for him bit by bit. Jeremy doesn't have a single redeeming quality. He's a complete monster and I'm actually enjoying that he's different from the usual tortured hero. While I usually enjoy the villain and victim eventually finding peace with each other, in this case, I hope Lilly destroys him.
Lilly is so brave, I've never rooted for someone a much as I'm rooting for her. I'm going to read the next book right now, I just need to know what comes next.
So my opinion of Lilly hasn't improved that much. I do admire her false sense of bravery and determination, but really... how much can you accomplish when your every endeavor is dictated by your captor? I sometimes wondered if she was just a glutton for punishment, with the way she purposely put herself in a situation that incurred discipline.
I would not be trying to aggravate Mr. Jeremy. He sounds scary!
Ah well, I'm still in it for Jeremy. I'm intrigued enough to keep reading to find out what drives him. I in no way condone non-consensual anything, however, this is fiction so the more twisted the better.
This one is darker than the first one. In the first book there was a feeling of curiosity as i was reading, curiosity about the place that Lilly is kept and what is beyond there and also about Jeremy because i couldn't figure out what kind of character he is. But in this book my feelings are anticipation and fear about what will happen next to Lilly, readers have the chance to meet Jeremy and see the cruel side of him. This book really kept me at the edge of my sit the entire time. Until the next book comes out i have to wait patiently , something very hard for me to do.
I'm so glad I finally read this one. As the title indicates, in book 2 Lilly (the MC) very creatively decides to save herself from her captor by being submissive...or at least making Jeremy Stonehart (J.S.) think she is. As she begins to be submissive in order to save her life, it's obvious to the reader that she just might be buying into her own act. In other words, is she becoming somehow interested in this captor?
At first I thought Jeremy might be caring and more humane than I could picture but not so. He's pure evil incarnate. One night he tells her to take a week and get her act together: look better, smell good, clean up, gain a little weight, etc. and he gives her certain freedoms she hadn't had previously. She felt so good to bathe, have some beautiful clothing to wear and I began to think of the Stockholm syndrome and considered that she might be acquiring that.
It's so difficult and confusing as a woman to read a book like this with a monster like Stonehart and be able to say it was a really good book. But it really was. It's almost like an oxymoron.
The author knows how to write, use detail, elicit emotions from the reader, and in a short book develop her characters surprisingly well.
I really loved this book even if I wanted a little bit more that's why I can't give 5 stars.
We begin where the story was left off in the first book and we finally meet J.S! I have to admit, I don't know what I feel for him! The man is dark, full of secrets and we never know what he really think. Lilly doesn't know where to stand with him. He want her to submit, yet he know she's not a real sub. Jeremy is rough, not a tender lover. And he reminds me a little of Tony in the Consequences series sometimes, always in control, dark but still something behind the mask.
I can't wait to read the next one!! :))) I want to discover more of Jeremy, his twisted side but maybe his tender side too. And I want to find out how we get to the prologue we read in the first book!
*An ARC has been provided in exchange of an honest review*
STORY In this installment we get to meet Jeremy StoneHeart. More specifically, we see what a complete and utter jerk he is! Demonstrating how talented she is, Scarlett Edward’s writing didn’t just, “show“ me how cruel and sadistic Jeremy is but I could practically FEEL the pain, anguish and anxiety Lily experienced because of this tyrannical man. Like it’s predecessor, this installment made me even more eager to read on in order to find out what will happen to the poor, defenseless Lily next!
PERFORMANCE I listened to the Audible audiobook narrated by Amy Johnson. Aside from mispronouncing the word, “caveat“, Johnson delivered a 100% perfect performance. I would bet that Ms. Johnson has undergone years of acting training; it never sounds as though she is reading from a script as she practically, “becomes” whichever character she is reading as. Her performance definitely has a positive impact on how much I enjoy these books!
So as this is a 10 book series, I thought it best to read them all before reviewing. It makes no difference in regards to a review or opinion in a lengthy series such as this if book one is fabulous and then book 7 sucks lemons, or the whole series turns out to be utter rubbish! Which this one did.
So Lily is a self made Junior at Yale when she wins a contest that has her receiving numerous summer internship offers before her senior year. Being fully self-reliant since she left home for college, disowning her alcoholic mother and never knowing her father, she is overjoyed to receive a job offer following the internship. But suddenly it falls through and she is left with nothing, too late to go back to school, no apartment, no money. She takes a strange personal meeting with the CEO of one of the most successful companies in the country. Next thing she awakes in a dark room tethered by a string to a pillar with some type of collar around her neck. She is starved, electrocuted, and raped by her captor until she relents signing a contract of servitude. She discovers her captor to be Jeremy Stoneheart, the dashing and successful CEO she met with before being drugged and kidnapped.
The author loves three things: to hear her characters talk to themselves in rambling inner musings that make absolutely no sense, she loves the word discomfiting, and owns a thesaurus. Some of the words she uses make no sense and are utterly ridiculous, if not misused altogether. I stayed with this series until book 9. 9! I kept hoping there would be a crazy big shock or reveal that would redeem all of this silliness. But honestly, by book 7 I was kind of voting for Jeremy to screw her over well and good because Lily is too stupid to be allowed to live. The only thing to know is that this series will cost you $28.92 in its entirety, so maybe it's not Lily who is really the idiot, but me for spending $24.93 on this crap. And maybe the author is really a genius after all.
Spoilers to follow...SPOILERS BELOW...Spoilers! ******************** ********************
Now, Jeremy rapes and humiliates her at every turn. Molding her and forcing her into his service. He is very mercurial, actually more like schizophrenic with his moods. Not long into this, he declares true feelings for Lily and then calls it love after she suffers an accident and nearly drowns. Now, he removes the collar and slowly gives her space and freedom, on,y at every turn she finds out he's watching or something similar. Not really free. He cheats on her, blind folds, gags, and kicks her into a closet so she can hear him have sex with another woman immediate,y after sharing a tender and seemingly emotional day with her that had convinced her he may be changing to the better.
All along, our idiot Lily convinces herself she is staying and playing this game to get back at Jeremy. But she spends so much time trying to convince herself of this, it's boring! She tells herself she needs to gain his trust and get close to him to "ruin" him for her revenge, and bides her time knowing this will take a while. Except when she has the chances to learn more about Jeremy, even if there just rumors and speculation, she turns her nose. Once with her best friends fiancé, an investigative reporter! Who was begging her to listen to all he had uncovered about her new boyfriend! Seriously. The second was from Jeremy's own father. She justified this because Jeremy and dad were adversaries. Still, who better to get dirt from?! And all this was after Jeremy admitted to drugging her and trying to make her think she was insane. What did she do? Verbally spar with him and then had sex with him! Now, why her? Well Jeremy admits early on the reason, revenge. Apparently, Lily's father, whom she never knew, had an affair with Jeremy's mother and broke her heart. His mother died in a house fire at Lily's father's home waiting for her lover. That's it. Jeremy manipulated and stalked Lily based solely on this, and has made all these covert plans to destroy her. Even knowing her father had never had any role in her life and she did t even know who the hell he was! Lame.
He kidnaps her. Starves her. Rapes her repeatedly. Electrocutes her repeatedly. And even admitted to doing it because he could, not because she broke one of his rules. Cheats. Slaps, pushes, and kicks her. Drugs her. Repeatedly. And tells her every time. So really shame on her after the first time, right? Hires someone to get close to her mom. Remands her father to a mental hospital where he is now insane and is also collared and shocked repeatedly because Jeremy feels like it. Breaks her arm. Isolates her from her friends. Hires someone to rob her. Admits to her his plan was to make her fall for him and be completely dependent on him and then drop her ass on the street. Plays Russian roulette with her. Gun was absolutely loaded!
I know I am forgetting some other stuff, but this is enough. Or you'd think this would be enough that you or I would be DONE. This idiot goes back to him.
Uniquely written, suspenseful and intriguing are but a few words to describe this serial story from Scarlet Edwards. I am hooked and waiting for more.
The first installment introduces us to a strong master/Dom who has kidnapped a young college intern and forces her to consider signing a contract of servitude. The second is about forcing her into submission. Mr. Stonehart (as the name implies) is a sadist. He requires Lilly's complete submission and acceptance. As Lilly cooperates, freedoms are afforded... but is she really submitting to his will?
It is a psychological mind-bender. She is an independent, strong-willed woman, who has had to sacrifice in the extreme to survive and achieve an education. There are clues that will intrigue you and will make you weary of this man that is manipulating her. What is his motive? He has been driven by revenge all his life. Is this a clue?
Part #3 is scheduled to be released on May 10th, 2014. After reading Part #2, I can assure you I will be up at 12:01 am waiting for its release. We are promised this story will unfold over multiple volumes of approximately 125 pages each. Each volume will contain a full story with a climax and conclusion. This story is well written and the characters are depicted in such a way that you cannot help but get emotionally involved. I am intrigued by Mr Stonehart while at the same time wanting to bash his head in. I am not a violent woman or in any way prong to physical violence, but this man gets under my skin. I say we should prepare ourselves, this will be a bumpy ride.
PLEASE do not continue with this review if you have not read Part 1 of this series.
Lilly is finding herself succumbing to the rules, and trying to find a way to get herself out of this situation. Good behavior has granted her some freedoms, which she is trying to use to figure out who exactly JS is, and what she can do to get away from him.
Part of her freedoms include roaming the entire estate, upon doing so, Lilly finds herself on the brink of taking advantage of what she has been given. When confronted by JS, Lilly realizes her actions will have reactions.
~~~~~~
I can't wait for the final part of this story and to see how it all plays out. Will Lilly fully submit to JS, or will she find a way to freedom.
This book does contain physical, sexual and emotional abuse. You must read part 1 in order to fully grasp what is going on.
I would highly recommend this series.
I received a complimentary copy from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.
That's me being speechless. I tried and tried to savor this ruthless yet addicting book. The first book, Uncovering You : The Contract, drew me in to where I was intrigued on the very first page. I fell in love with the writing as well as the story itself.
Uncovering You: Submission was the next step into the world of Lilly. The beautiful and regal Lilly. I love her. I so want her to kick Jeremy's ass. In UY2, Lilly will finally have a little more freedom by tokens she receives for "good" behavior. Stonehart wants her complete and total submission.
Should she comply with him just so she find a faster way to seek her revenge?
Jeremy's the type of character you love to hate but hate to love. There's something about him that's so captivating that you can't help but want to know more about him. I'll admit some scenes were hard to read yet I couldn't put the book down.
Little by little we get to know Jeremy. All Lilly wants is vengeance but you can't bullshit a bullshitter. You'll know what I mean once you read the book.
I'm already impatiently eager for the next installment of the Uncovering You series.
this book is slowly captivating me and making me want to know more and more.
it's more of an "installment" than an actual book, since without going forward there's no way to know what the story actually is.
it has captured my interest enough to go on and i'm looking forward to having more/all revealed in the next part.
again, it is well written and the style is intriguing enough to make me want more... right away.
(*edit: i'm withholding my rating on this and removing them from the other installments, until i can make a fair assessment of the overall story.)
disclaimer: the story is for some reason categorized as "BDSM" but in the 3 volumes i've read so far, there is nothing that resembles "BDSM" in any way. this may be the author's assumption that anything that involves captivity, forced sex acts, and control equal BDSM.
i beg to differ with the BDSM categorization, since the captivity, forced sex acts, and control have only been displayed as criminal acts and not a kinky practice between consenting adults (as is BDSM).
please don't get me wrong -- i'm loving the dark and taboo nature of the storyline so far -- but to consider it BDSM would be like considering "brutal rape" a "contemporary love story".
WTF JEREMY! All I wanted to do was cute off your nuts and shove them down your throat this whole entire book! "He takes one calculated step toward me. "There," he says. "I do not often compromise. But for you, I will. You say I'm too far. So I bridge the gap." His cruel eyes shine. "Now it's your turn." Jesus, he's such an a**, "rule two. You are explicitly prohibited from any form of self-harm. I will not have you -" he sneers at me, "-spoiling yourself." Wtf is she going to do, commit suicide you don't leave her any freakin' liberties for God's sake. And your presence ain't no privilege let me tell you something Mr. you'd be eating your nuts if I got treated that way, "he stops and looks into my eyes. "Do you understand? The time I make for you is a privilege. Treat it as such. Dress and act accordingly." God damn the next book better have his a** straightening out his act or else his nuts really will end up down his throat.
