When the end arrives, how far will you go to survive?
With over 4 million books sold, the #1 best-selling and most prolific post-apocalyptic thriller author Mike Kraus brings a gripping tale of destruction, survival and humanity like no one else can.
On a quiet evening like any other, virtually anything that uses fuel goes up in flames, killing billions in the first twenty-four hours alone. Remnants of governments reel as they try to deal with the destruction of their countries and decimation of their military infrastructure as their cities burn to the ground.
On a quiet beach in South Florida, Alice Burton and her two children have started the family vacation early - all that's left is for James to fly in from a conference in Colorado. When the small beach town they're staying in is consumed by fire, they're forced to seek help on foot - facing dangers both natural and manmade at every turn.
Meanwhile, at the Denver International Airport, James Burton hides beneath an overpass as cars and planes erupt in flame around him. His survival is not guaranteed, as a treacherous journey through the heart of Denver and beyond awaits him if he has any hope of reuniting with his family.
Back home, on their small farm outside East Lansing, Michigan, Alice's parents are house-sitting, and are about to experience the most intense test of their survival and homesteading skills that they could ever imagine.
This omnibus edition of The End of All Things contains all 6 books from the original The Collapse The Desolation The Ruination The Darkness The Devouring The Redemption

I have always found Mike Kraus books to be an excellent read. The End of All Things: The Complete Series was an awesome 7 day read. I have always found this to be true of any Mike Kraus book. His books grab you from the very beginning, keep you on the edge of your seat the entire read, and always has a great ending. Alice, Jake and Sarah Burton are very good characters in this series along with James Burton. Ryan and Helen are very interesting and for older folks are very active. Along with all the other characters that are introduced in the events that occur during this survival thriller series there is a lot of action, killing, holocaust, destruction and death. You are asking yourself “what is going to happen next?”; “how can that happen?”; “are they good or evil?”; and “why did that happen?”, the entire read. I had a very hard time putting these books down the entire week.
Just know that finishing 6 books in 7 days is absolutely possible when this good.
If you like action, horses, guns and the good guys winning then you will love this series. The characters are believable, the action just about non-stop and the situations the characters find themselves in ring true. Being a professional horse and dog trainer for the last 40 years, I typically have to stop reading any fiction that involves people closely interacting with animals because I have too much experience with how animals and animal training really works to be able to invoke creative license with the subject. Thankfully, I didn’t have to in this series. The story stayed true to reality as far as the content went and I was very pleasantly surprised as a result. A good read. I can heartily recommend it.
Remove all hope for those who read this apocalypse story
It is well written but I stopped at 71% of the way through the series. It just got so depressing. Maybe it all turns around at the end but with a title like”The End of all things:” I lost hope. Also, I really do not like have multiple main characters. The story jumps from Alice to Ryan and Hellen to James, and to President Birk, and to others to try to give a sense of how widespread the apocalypse has become. I did not make it to where each individual story is joined together which is the only reason I kept reading. But the carnage just got too much. I was tired of waiting to see if the husband, wife, and kids make it home to see Grampa Ryan.
Kraus deserves the top rating for giving readers a long, thrilling ride. That said, there were too many cringe-worthy scenes filled with dialogue that is reminiscent of those radio serials of yesteryear that had kids hanging on each 15-minute episode. (“No time for that now, Betty!” The hero would say to his sidekick and organ music would swell until the announcer promised more thrills tomorrow). What sets this author apart is his research into how mechanical things work. I wish there had been diagrams to make it even clearer.
Such an amazing series. I'm always sad when a good book ends which is why I love a good long series. This book has it all... Love, family, perseverance, thriller, a wide array of characters and such a believable end of the world thriller. Most books have all the survivors out to kill one another but in reality I don't believe ALL survivors would be like that. This series has it's fill of bad people BUT it also has a more realistic amount of good people who want to do good and help one another which I found VERY refreshing. Mike Kraus doesn't disappoint.
I went ahead and got the series so I could finish the story without delays. I’ve read many of this genre. This one is truly different in both the catalyst event, the story progression, and plot elements. I liked all the characters and would have preferred more character development and less violence. But the violent events were not over the top. Work on the ending a bit more. It is predictable. Not complaining. Good reading.
Very fast paced and concise. Quite a few story lines but they blended together effortlessly. Fantastic story line, had a hard time putting it down as the next chapter was just as exciting as the last one read. The ending was perfect, thoroughly enjoyed the Burton's story!!!!!!
I read the last chapter at 3am! I didn't care for details on the other countries, but it gave good build up in between the drama. The cause of destruction was refreshing after so many EMP and solar flares. I felt the fall of humanity came a little fast. Overall I did enjoy this book. Good job Amazon for recommending this book.
This series is a must read! I fell in love with Alice, James, and their family. They go through an awful lot at the end of the world. I could not stop reading to see what happened next.
I really enjoyed the varied story lines and suspense. Many times I could not put the book down. Highly recommend these books and series to anyone who loves the apocalyptic journey.
I thought I was burned out on survival books but for some reason decided to give this one a go. I am really glad I did. I truly enjoyed this series. I highly recommend it.
This is a tale of what could happen in a way that few have imagined. Nonstop and up all night. Frightening at times and showing the strength of ourselves in times of trouble. Hopefully, this is just a tale....
Interesting story and makes you think how people would react if America should experience a catastrophic event. Hopefully America would not experience anything like this story.
I had a hard time putting this series down. It covered the good, the bad, and the ugly of an apocalypse. It was so good following the families and their determination to reconnect with each other no matter what. Excellent writing!
Enjoyed the story. Some new and interesting ideas and scenarios. I feel the lack of any Ham radios in the story is a huge oversight. Still a fun and entertaining read.
