This was all over the place. Like, every trope you wanted to write about, was attempted to be in this book but it just didn’t flow. Trinity was also a little bipolar & rather annoying. I loved the entire Paradise family, that gave the story a nice warm touch. Greyson was great which is why this book earned a 3 star from me.

What a way to start a new series. This held my attention from the very beginning and held tight until the very end. Trinity is a smart, beautiful woman that has her world flipped with one phone call. Last thing she needs in her life is the sexy doctor who is on a mission to make her his. These two are great and I absolutely loved them and his family. I’m really excited for this new series by Grace Maxwell. 🖤🔥🍷🔥🖤

I received an ARC of this book. No one writes medical romance better than Grace Maxwell and this one is no exception. This book held me from the very beginning and I devoured it in a day. It was a great start to the series, and while it is a standalone, there was a bit of a cliffhanger that I’m guessing will continue in the next story. That being said, it wasn’t so much of one that it felt like the story was unfinished between Greyson and Trinity. I’m looking forward to the next book already.

But, in that area of British Columbia, the word is also the label in the unique wine producing region of British Columbia which was settled by a family whose name happened to be “Paradise” And, now, the name is associated with some of the finest wines in the New World still grown, harvested and fermented in Paradise into award winning wines.
The grapes of Paradise and the family Paradise—father and daughter, Tarryn, have challenged the finest winemakers of California.And now, the full-bodied wine with subtle complexities which the fParadise team are convinced will challenge the winemakers of France. But ironically, with a label receiving international notice, the family is feeling local pressure from a newer vineyard in the area, Black Bear Vineyard, owned and operated by the Dempsey family, who are seeking to undercut the success of the renowned Paradise label.

And, while the author might allow characters from one novel to encounter characters from other series such as the Men of Mercy and Mercy Medical Emergency, no previous background is needed—the author simply provides a devoted Maxwell fan an opportunity to encounter an old friend again!

I'd never heard of this author before, but the book was free on Amazon. The first chapter in the sample seemed interesting, so I picked it up on a whim, with no expectations. I didn't realize it was a new release. It was ok, but it felt a bit like a draft to me. Some of the dialogue came off a little clunky, and I found the characters' frequent use of each others names when talking to each other a bit weird. People don't do that frequently in natural conversation. I also caught an inconsistency. Trinity told Greyson that she lived right by her job at the hospital and often walked on clear days, but towards the end when she's back in Vancouver, she describes a one hour commute to the hospital by car.
Trinity and Greyson have good chemistry and I liked them together, but I didn't develop a sense of connection to them, nor did I find myself invested in whether they end up together. Maybe I needed to see them date more to get that feel for them. The "admin" vs "doctors" drama at the beginning seemed hyped up. I don't doubt there might be animosity, but it was so blatant and immature for fully grown adults. Similary, the Anita drama came out of left field and felt out of place. Simply added to introduce conflict and move along the plot. Why wouldn't Grey immediately kick her out (instead of saying "this isn't a good time")? Why would she assume if they've barely talked to each other over the last three years? It didn't feel realistic the way it was written. Other woman drama is fine with me, as long as it's presented in a way that makes sense.
One last complaint is that while Greyson and Trinity's story has a HEA (or HFN at least), the secondary thread of the winery's sabotage is not resolved in this book. I assume it will continue in the next one, so if you're interested in that resolution, you won't get it from this book. Calling it a standalone in that sense is a little misleading.
Regarding the "trope tags" listed in the summary, by the way, I don't recall anything about a bet or an age gap. The characters' ages are never specified, so I imagined they were close in age. On the ferry headed to a medical conference in Victoria, he meets another attendee, beautiful Trinity Blaine, who gladly shares a night of blissful passion before the conference begins, only to realize the morning after that he is part of the famous Paradise family who founded the town where her parents retired. Later, as Greyson is taking questions after his talk about creating more efficiency in emergency room management, the sparks fly when Trinity takes umbrage over his condescending manner toward hospital administrators. Little does he know that Trinity has spent the last three years developing a new software program that will revolutionize the hospital intake process.
Their paths cross again when Trinity is called to Paradise where her mother suffers from a stroke that Greyson says involves a brain leak and possible loss of memory. They are certain, however, that the electric chemistry and steamy passion are off the charts. Join Greyson, Trinity, and a large cast of secondary characters, including family, friends, and rivals in the town of Paradise - you will be glad you did!

Well done!
Grace Maxwell was a new to me author and I am pleased to have found her! The story of Greyson and Trinity was very enjoyable and I could give it no less than 5 stars!!! While their first few encounters were not the most pleasant, once they gave in to their attraction it was a VERY enjoyable story. Complicating their relationship was Trinity’s mom’s care; who was in a facility for memory and dementia. How to best treat her was a source of contention. It wasn’t so much as to whether she should receive care, meds, etc. but the fact that Trinity felt like Greyson was just bulldozing over her wishes. The fact that Trinity was having difficulty coming to terms with her mom’s diagnosis was probably THE biggest issue. Greyson struggled with being able to verbalize his feelings for Trinity. Typically running away from difficult situations was his MO. Finally coming to grips with their true feelings, both Trinity and Greyson commit to being together. Which brings me to my MOST FAVORITE part = HEA!!!

I liked seeing Greyson and Trinity meet, seeing them together and the changes they went through because they had met and pursued something between them. I enjoyed the support they both got from family, friends and colleagues, I liked seeing them find a balance in their life, between work and personal, between their wants and family needs, between solving someone's problem and talking it through with them, and being able to be open and honest with each other
I am looking forward to reading more from this series, to get to know Greyson's siblings better, to see them all fall in love, to find out what's happening at the winery and why, and to see more of them all together, happy, supporting one another and all the love that is around them.

Great start to a new series and I can't wait to learn more about the Paradise siblings. In this first book, luckily for Grayson and Trinity they meet in a hotel bar without knowing much about each other and what they do. Thanks to that encounter and their mad chemistry they were able to build upon that. Because what came next didn't earn brownie points to any of them. Misunderstanding after misunderstanding and our main characters speaking the same language but understanding things completely different. Once they start communicating better or at least understanding what they fear, things flow nicely. Easy to read and entertaining!

This was a very solid and enjoyable read for me. The storyline was good, characters well developed, and emotions totally initiated. Felt the real world issues of losing one’s parent to memory loss and the soul searing agony of it. Trinity and Greyson both had things keeping them from commitment and I enjoyed watching their relationship grow. The Paradise family was humorous and a supporting role. I look forward to reading the next in this series.

Perfect blend of steam, strength, and sweetness
Wow, this story really hit me in the feels. Trinity’s challenges living far away from an aging single parent who is starting to need more support mirror my current situation. Despite that, this was a fast and fun read. Trinity and Greyson live worlds apart, and go into things thinking it’ll be a one and done.
But he can’t help helping her. Of course, his version—the alpha male and doctor knows best—is to make decisions for her, and she calls him on it. They both learn to trust and even rely on each other to balance their worlds.
Possibly the best part is the two of them each planning their own grand gesture (which I won’t describe because spoilers), in tones of the Gift of the Magi. Luckily no one does anything irreversible like cutting their hair and all ends well, except for the family vineyard which continues to experience sabotage. This sets up the rest of this series perfectly.

This is a very interesting take on the perspective of life with someone who has been through a debilitating disease or medical condition. My family has been through strokes and Alzheimer's both and the scenarios in the book are completely on point. The relationship that is formed is a sideline that I found exciting and also endearing as they work to adhere to each other thru work and the often tell tale signs of growing with each other.

Good
It was a decent story, with lots of heart and lots of spicy bedroom scenes. I really liked their banter and chemistry in the beginning. It dwindled down as things progressed and of course there's a big dramatic 3rd act breakup and grand gestures and a HEA. A lot of characters so you gotta pay attention!

I enjoyed this book. Getting to know Greyson and Trinity. I want to learn more about his family. I love the steamy scenes. This is the first book in the series and I can't wait for the next. This is a must read book.

Slow start but great ending
I didn't like Trinity or Grey son from the beginning because he was to Alpha and controlling. She was too submissive and stubborn. But both characters grew on me as their relationship developed, which made the story very pleasant.

Recs from my Facebook feed keep letting me down. This book has a depressing tone to it and because of it, I don’t really believe in the romance. Trinity is meh as a main character and she actually never says I love you to our hero.

I adore this author. And this book is one of the good ones. I love the passion. I love the family is brought into the book. She is a sweetie and a spitfire. I highly recommend this book. This author. Ms. Grace is just wonderful.

So boring. This may have been better if they edited 100 pages out of this. It was so full of filler that I just had to keep skipping along.
