Daphne never expected to be saddled with a fortune, a horse farm, and a grumpy equine trainer with chiseled abs. But then her estranged father passes away... leaving her to manage all three.
Horses are Lee’s life passion. So when Layside Farm falls into the hands of his late boss's daughter, he has an opinion or two about the infuriatingly spoiled (and infuriatingly sexy) new owner.
Namely, that somebody needs to teach her a lesson in power and control.
Spurred On is a super-spicy ~32k enemies to lovers romance novella. There is a little bit of plot, loads of steam, and a sprinkling of tender moments.
Mandy Mackay writes sexy, rural romances featuring rugged heroes with filthy mouths and hearts of gold (sometimes, more than one at a time). She blames her formative years spent mucking stalls, getting lost in the woods, and drooling over men in blue jeans and boots.
SPURRED ON was extra spicy and well written but I'll be honest, hate sex is just not my favorite thing. Lee was basically an asshole for half this book and even though Daphne kind of liked it, I just couldn't enjoy the book as much. It's personal preference though so if that kind of MMC personality doesn't bother you than definitely read this one. Because this was still written really well and Lee does make amends once he realizes how wrong he was about Daphne.
Lee and Daphne are would be enemies. But they are so attracted to each other, that all it takes is a bit of understanding and soon they are lovers. Take away the assumptions being made and they have a great vision to complete.

Mason, Wyatt and Chloe work together on Mason’s ranch. All three are attracted to each other but their fear of losing the other two holds them back. When a snowstorm traps them in the house with no distractions but each other, feelings come out as clothes come off. But what happens when the snow stops falling?
Loved this one! So 🌶️🌶️🌶️. I’m a fan of ménage/reverse harem stories in general, but this one was so well-done. It was the perfect combo of smexy, sweet and satisfying. All three were just so likable and easy to root for. I’m glad we had multiple POVs so we could understand how invested — and in love — they were. My heart ached for Wyatt having to hide his feelings so I was thrilled when he and Mason got real with each other. This was my first book by Mandy but I will definitely be reading more!

Alright read. The MMC likes it rough, but she does too. The have lots of hate chemistry that runs into love chemistry. I liked the first book better, but this was good. The horse story was good too.
She just received life changing news, the father she has never met passed away and left her a ranch. Never having had much stability in her life she is looking forward to finding some roots. When she gets to the ranch she meets him, the head trainer. He mistakes her for a spoiled rich princess. He is used to hard work and ranch life and is not impressed by her heels and pencil skirt. He is certain that she is there for entertainment and will soon be gone. Neither can deny their intense chemistry, and once it catches fire it might burn everything to the ground. This is a shorter story so you don't expect to get detailed character development or complicated plot lines. You get enough for the story. You get her family history and back story and a little of his (I would have liked a little more including description of his name origin and heritage) These two are on fire for each other from the beginning and it never fizzles. Their spice is very steamy, and takes place all over the ranch. He definitely likes to Dom and she very quickly is all on board with that. They get their HEA in the end, but don't miss the bonus epilogue to really see a glimpse into their future.

Great story about a grumpy horse trainer and his new female boss. It's a grumpy/sunshine type trope, well written and interesting. Loved the way it slyly reminded the reader of the realities of horse breeding and the cruelty hidden within the thoroughbred/racing fraternity.
Lee makes alot of presumptions about Daphne when she inherits her father's ranch. But it doesn't stop him secretly wanting her. Daphne finds Lee insufferable, but that doesn't stop her wanting him. Eventually they recognise their mutual desires. Very little BDSM in this so no idea why advertised as such.
Character driven, spicy, easy to read, novella. HAE.

This is my first read for Mandy Mackay. She writes well. There are no grammatical errors or spelling mistakes that put many readers off. The blurb however, is misleading. There's nothing BDSM about this story. Some kinky scenes is all you'll get. Not much angst, no build up and basically there were only two characters. Both characters were 2 dimensional and not fleshed out at all. The book was predictable and a little contrived in places. Having said all of this, I'd still give this author another read.

Daphne is shocked to find she inherited a fortune. Especially as she never knew her father. Daphne finds herself the owner of a race horse ranch. Hoping to learn what it's about she introduces herself to the staff. Wohali is the head trainer of the horses and expects the new owner to be as bad as her father. Lee is as unwelcoming as possible to Daphne, he treats her like a spoiled trust fund baby. He doesn't take the time to learn who she is or whare she comes. Yet Lee can't seem to keep his hands or dominating ways from her. She responds perfectly to him despite the fights both keep having.

Daphne finds out who her father is when she is contacted by a lawyer about her inheritance. She suddenly has all the money she could ever want and more to spare. Lee is the top horse trainer at Daphne's horse farm. Lee and Daphne clash from day one. Be prepared for explosive spice and chemistry between them. It is so good when they finally start talking to each other and learning what the other has been through. This is an excellent book!

Wow!! I really honestly didn't expect to like this book that much. The story was short, but very enjoyable. I wished it ended with a proposal or marriage, but I still liked it.
Totally worth the read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I enjoyed reading Daphne and Lee’s story it was short and throughly entertaining the chemistry and sparks between them sizzled with an intense undeniable energy that was good reading.
