Omg. This story was so bad it was ridiculous.

The premise was dumb, the writing was bad, the spicy scenes were cringy. The only good thing about it was that it was short. I should have DNF’d. I think I actually lost brain cells.

- 💞no third act breakup. But they were all prepared to break up for the dumbest ass reason.
-👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼virgin curvy 23 yr old FMC, 33 yr old grumpy MMC and brothers best friend
- 🙄close proximity; all living w her billionaire brother because… of course
- 🙊some miscommunication and then just dumb communication
- 🦹‍♂️bad guy who obsesses over FMC and causes trouble
- ⏱️insta love/lust after lifetime of seeing her as little sister
- ex drug adict mom (MMC) trying to do better and FMC is the Christmas elf who helps them be a family again.
💕 8 yr later epilogue (which ok - was good. I like an epilogue in the future especially w these insta love stories).

Holly has always had a crush on her big brothers friend, Asher. Asher comes back to town and lives w the brother and Holly while he’s getting his apt ready. They all work together as well, of course. She’s insanely into Christmas and he’s not because of tragic back story.

🧨Sparks fly immediately. But, they can’t be together because the brother wouldn’t like it.

😒⬆️THIS is the dumbest of all tropes. If the brother loves and respect his sister (which he supposedly does) and loves and respects his friend (which he does) then why wouldn’t he want them together??? And then the fact that they fall in love but decide to BE APART bc it will make the brother happy is beyond stupid. The brother is a happy billionaire loving his best billionaire life. But, yes, Asher, quit your job and move away bc you can’t bear to be near Holly. And Holly, yes please, vow to be alone for the rest of your life and just be fine w it. And also, brother, loses his shit. Like a little brat. Get. Over. Yourself. What in the ever loving hell is this????

👀 🍆 Also, they finally have sex and it’s completely unprotected. Brother gives his approval in the worst most annoying way. And then before she finds out she’s pregnant (because duh), Asher proposes after like what? A month.

There’s a whole thing about them being each other’s secret santa and the creep at the office. But honestly, it’s just so… you guessed it…. Dumb. Save yourself.

Read literally anything else.

This is a well written brother's best friend story with strong characters in Holly and Asher. The author brings an insta love with a fun banter, romance and some texting via Secret Santa. She moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes and delivers an entertaining read with a sweet epilogue. I enjoyed reading their story.

TROPES:
~age gap
~forbidden love: brother's best friend, coworkers
~forced proximity (he's living with her and her brother)
~instalove

Ehhhh. I usually enjoy Flora's books but this one missed the mark with me. :( The hero is a much older man, who is best friend's with the heroine's brother. He's staying with them while his apartment is being done. He goes to work at her brother's company, where she also works. The company does a Secret Santa exchange where they all get phones to text their Secret Santa what they want for Christmas. Of course, the heroine and hero get each other.

There's absolutely zero chemistry. The hero moans about his breakup with his ex for the entire book.

SAFETY:
Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, no past on hero
OM/OW drama: both
Cheating/sharing: none
HEA?: yes

My bookshelves may contain spoilers.

👫🎄 Asher and Holly’s Story . . .

Asher Mitchell has arrived home for Christmas. He’s having some work done on his apartment, so his best friend Dan invited him to stay with him and his sister Holly in his high-rise until the work is completed. Dan owns a multimillion-dollar product design company, and Holly works for him, saving her money to get her own place. Right from the start, Holly causes trouble when she steals Asher’s clothes lying on a table outside the bathroom while he takes a shower. She puts them in the library and hangs them from a lamp, feeling like a naughty Christmas elf. Then she hurries back to her room to wait for his reaction. She hears Asher curse as he reaches out for his clothes that are no longer there -- then he steps out into the hall in a towel and she’s speechless when she sees his muscles and tries to pretend she had nothing to do with his missing clothes. Uh, yes, he’s gorgeous and her old crush is definitely back as she can’t stop staring at him!

When Dan’s company begins their Secret Santa game where everyone gets an anonymous texting partner, Holly is pretty sure Asher is her partner. It lets them have fun flirting with each other. But there is someone else in the company, Derek, who has been pestering her to date him, wants Holly for himself, and is trying to cause trouble between them. How far will he go to tear them apart? Should Holly and Asher back off a little rather than stir up possible trouble? And how would Dan react if he realized the two of them were starting to have feelings for each other? But can Asher and Holly walk away from each other now? Or will they stand up to Dan and realize they are adults who can make their own decisions about falling in love?

Thawing the Grinch’s Heart -
Holly realised her intense feelings for Asher had not waned the moment he returned and moved in with her and her brother, but she knew she couldn’t do anything about it, as he was her older brother’s best friend. Asher had always seen Holly as his best friend’s little sister as they grew up, but everything changed on his return, where he realised she had grown up into a bombshell. Holly and Asher tried desperately to keep their attraction for each other in check, but the Secret Santa event led to them pushing the boundaries.

Unfortunately, Holly and Asher’s secret communications was hijacked by someone obsessed with her, which led to her brother finding out about their budding romance. However, everything changed after the video of Asher’s public declaration during an encounter with Holly’s stalker went viral, which gave Holly’s brother the chance to accept their relationship and give them his blessing, so they could get the happily ever after they deserved.

This is a beautifully written story about letting go of the past, learning to forgive, fate-filled encounters, finding the joys of Christmas again and getting an unexpected second chance. This was such a great story! I really enjoyed reading this wonderful and emotional story, that had me totally captivated from beginning until the end. If you like stories that have more to the content than just evolving around two lovers, this is a book you should definitely consider reading.

Texting My Secret is one of the best Christmas stories I have read this season. Flora provides us with a fresh new perspective to the happily ever after trope.

She pulls us into the story by creating a storyline that makes us feel like we are part of the action.
Each page comes alive and leaves us wanting more.

She carefully constructs the story of an off-limits younger sister (Holly) and her big brother Dan’s best friend Asher. Did I mention that Dan just happens to own the tech company they work at and has set a Christmas Secret Santa challenge?

Dan gives all his employees an untraceable cell phone so everyone can get to know the other to get ideas on what to buy as a gift.

Unknowingly Holly and Asher have no clue that they are randomly paired. As the story develops, the pair finds themselves texting and a bond begins to develop.

As the friendship of the unlikely pair grows evil is lurking right under their noses because a coworker has been making unwanted advances toward Holly.

Holly doesn’t know what to do. If she tells her brother her coworkers will accuse her of having special treatment. If she goes to HR she feels like they won’t believe her.
With this inferno steadily getting hotter and hotter Holly tries her best to maintain a professional demeanor.

Her real time attraction to Asher and her texts to her Secret Santa is causing her to feel riddled with sleepless nights and guilt.
Go ahead, buy this one I promise you won't regret it. ~QS.

Can you say Merry Christmas in the best way 😊and the things these two get into over the holidays. Asher sexy as get out is back home over the holidays having work done on his apartment so staying with his best friend in his high rise until the work is completed at his place and he didn’t expect to run into his little sister who lives with him while she saves her money to get her own place, but she has always been a brat. Holly is sweet lives with her brother, works with his company saving her money to get her own place but in no rush especially since her crush just temporarily moved in and she intends to mess with him starting with moving his clothes while he is in the shower forcing him out to walk out in just a towel ….yep she needs to remember to close her mouth 😊. When the office begin the Secret Sant game where everyone has an anonymous texting partner Holly is pretty positive that her partner is her crush and the more they text one another the better they get to know one another and the magnetic pull grows stronger but there is another at the company who wants to get to know her that she has told she has no interest in him but he refuses to accept no so he creates trouble but where is it headed, will her brother accept that his best friend is with his little sister, will the co-worker do something he can’t come back from, will these two be honest with one another about their feelings, and is there happiness somewhere along the way for these two?

This is a cute short and steamy OTT holiday age-gap, brother's best-friend, insta-love, damaged and possessive MMC,workplace romance between Asher and Holly. Holly has had a crush on her older brothers best-friend Asher for a long time and now he's come home just in time for Christmas. Asher has returned home to closely work with his best-friend Dan who he's also staying with and while staying with Dan he sees his younger sister Holly again. The only thing is she's now a beautiful young woman not an annoying little girl like he remembers her. Then a secret Santa exchange is introduced by Holly's brother Dan company wide using old cellphones and Holly figures she can use it to take a break from her crush on Asher. Unbeknownst to Holly however is that she's been paired with Asher and as she begins texting with her secret Santa she swears she recognizes Asher in the spicy messages. Too bad Asher and Holly can't be together because it would break her brother Dan's heart which is why they've always fought their feelings especially Asher. Will the magic of Christmas bring Asher and Holly the gift they really want which is to be together? You really need to read this cute short and steamy OTT holiday age-gap, brother's best-friend, insta-love, damaged and possessive MMC, workplace romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

She is his best friend’s younger sister. They grew up together, but he’s been gone the last several years and now that he’s back, he’s noticing that she’s all grown up. He was always her brother‘s best friend and even then she had a crush on him but now he does things to her that she couldn’t imagine. When the company assigns them secret Santa and gives them texting phones, they are soon pretty sure that they got matched up, and the phone gives them the opportunity to say things that they might not in person. But both in person and on the phone things are heating up and they can no longer deny what they are feeling, but there is one big problem.. her brother…. Their boss. This is actually a sweet story with lots of pining on both sides. They both realize they’re in deep, but they try to stay away from each other for the sake of others. Every time they’re alone things escalate a little more and the spice level goes up. There is some workplace drama and past family trauma to overcome, but these two are unbelievably supportive of each other. The author has done a good job with character development making you feel connected to both of these characters and feeling their struggle. They have a lot to work through to get their happily ever after, but it is worth it in the end.

Texting My Secret Santa is a steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, age-gap, curvy virgin gets her brother's best friend Christmas romance. Holly is a 23 year old curvy ray of Christmas sunshine. She works in digital marketing at her brother Dan's company. Asher is a 33 year old hunky, grumpy, grinchy businessman who is Dan's best friend. He had a tough childhood and has recently come home to work at Dan's company. He is temporarily staying with Dan and Holly while work is being done on his new house. Holly had a crush on him growing up, and now that he is home, she finds herself attracted to him, and he feels the same. But both feel guilty about Dan. And to further complicate things, they get each other for the work secret santa and have been texting anonymously, although both suspect they have each other. OMG, this might be one of my favorite Flora books to date. The chemistry was so hot, but you could also feel their guilt and anguish as they were navigating how to handle their relationship. And sigh..that speech by Asher was everything. After the drama was resolved, we also got an amazing HEA. I loved this story so much!! Asher is totally a new book boyfriend, and I loved Holly’s sass so much.

This book was such a chore to get through. The repetitive dialogue and phrases made it feel like I was stuck in a loop, and it just dragged the story down. The heroine was frustrating—so immature and inconsistent. She never stuck to her promises, overreacted to everything, and couldn't stand up for herself. How can someone feel sorry for a person who has been harassing them for months?

The constant justification that her job wasn’t due to nepotism got old really fast. The story kept hammering on about how her video submission was anonymous, but they repeated this point at least ten times—from the hero’s internal thoughts to his conversations with her, to her brother chiming in too. Honestly, if you have to try that hard to convince everyone, maybe there was some nepotism involved.

The hero’s “viral” speech? Completely underwhelming. There was nothing special about it to make it go viral. And while the harasser was emailing the hero’s mother and escalating things to a genuinely scary level, the heroine was more worried about, “Wait, you want to talk to my brother?” Really? Priorities!

Overall, it was frustrating, shallow, and exhausting to read. Even 1 star feels like too much for this. I can’t wrap my head around how it has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.

First off, I want to say the epilogues at the end of this book, is the sweetest!!
Ok, now.. we have Asher, our big handsome thirty three year old MMC. He’s known Holly, our beautiful MFC, and her brother since childhood. He had a bad home life so always hung around at her house being her brother was his best friend. And yes, she’s had more than a crush since she’s known him.
Hollys is our innocent and beautiful twenty three year old MFC.
Both works for her brothers company.
When Asher started noticing Holly and developing feelings, two things kept both Asher and Holly from acting on them. One, he was a senior in the company and two, he was her brother’s best friend. It felt like they were stabbing him in the back.
Now personally, I would say nothing would hold me back from love between these two. Like shame on the brother. But, it worked in their story.
This is an insta love story, OTT possessive and protective MMC, also damaged MMC, an innocent MFC, spicy spots, a standalone romance with a happily ever after.
A very good read.👍🏻🥰.

This put a whole new spin on Secret Santa—I’m not sure how feasible it would be but it was a cool idea and made for an interesting book. Imagine, loaner phones that would connect only to a person’s Secret Santa…

Holly has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Asher, since she was a kid but he was ten years older and besides, her brother would NOT understand! Now they work together and, unbeknownst to them (at least at first) turn out to be each other’s Secret Santa though it’s not long before they begin to suspect that the person on the other end of their snarky flirting is the ONE person they can never be involved with.

This was a brother’s best friend, age gap, LITTLE bit of a drama romance and a really good read. But when I say her brother wouldn’t understand them being together, that’s a major understatement! Personally, I thought he was way out of line and nothing like he’d been portrayed during the entire rest of the book… kind of a major jerk, but it is what it is. A few tears later, I got my HEA so it was all worth it in the end. 5 stars!.

Holly (h23) loves Christmas, her video marketing career, and pulling pranks on Asher (H33), her brother’s handsome yet infuriating best friend who’s just moved back to town, carrying the weight of a difficult past. Asher, however, isn’t exactly full of holiday cheer, and his frosty demeanor only fuels their playful, heated banter. But when the company’s Secret Santa game pairs Holly with an anonymous texting partner, their conversations take an unexpectedly flirty and heartfelt turn. As sparks fly both in messages and in person, Holly starts to suspect her snarky Santa might actually be Asher, the man she’s tried her hardest to avoid falling for. With family ties, workplace drama, and a possessive coworker threatening to tear them apart, Holly and Asher have to decide if their connection is worth risking it all. Hot and steamy forbidden, age gap, grumpy sunshine, Christmastime romance, exploring love, connection, self-discovery, vulnerability, forgiveness, and the magic of the holiday season.

Holly had feeling for Asher, her brother’s best friend, when she was a teenager, but he ends up staying with her and her brother she realizes the feelings have only grown stronger. She works for her brother’s company, and they have come up with a Secret Santa project where employees at the company will be partnered with another employee where her texts with her Secret Santa become flirty.

Asher is enchanted by the woman that Holly has become which is a mixture of confident and insecure. The texts they exchange only make him want her more but not only is not everyone is happy they are together but there is also the fact that her brother doesn’t know.

The angst that Holly and Asher are feeling is strong as they try to fight the depth of their feelings for each other while events out of their control exacerbate the situation.

I was drawn in by the cover and the synopsis of the book which offered an interesting take on Secret Santa for the holidays. I found that the book flowed well and had a decent plot with the main characters (Holly/Asher) finding themselves in an instant-like moment when they meet again as adults. I liked the flirty text and that there was an epilogue.
However, personally I found the text messages didn't always hold my interest and the people Holly/Asher worked with were a little concerning with their OTT behavior.
If you like a holiday story that offers a twist on the whole Secret Santa celebration this time of year this might be the book for you.

Texting My Secret Santa follows the journey of Asher and Holly. I absolutely enjoyed getting to know both Asher and Holly as the main characters of this book and seeing their story coming to life throughout the book. Author Flora Ferrari continues to prove to me that she is an incredible author she is with each book that I have read by her so far. The characters are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the book. This book is beautifully written, well balanced and perfectly executed by Flora Ferrari. I would absolutely recommend this book for anyone to checkout and give it a read. I’m looking forward to seeing what will be next from this amazing author.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Holly Harper & Asher Mitchell. Asher is the human version of the grinch but he has reason to be. When he gets roped into secret santa he is sure he can find a way out. That is until he finds out his person is Holly. With a name like Holly how can she hate Christmas. She isn't sure what to think about Asher thought. On the one hand she still wants him on the other being a grinch is sure not the way to her heart or any other part of her. Can these two find a HEA or will there always be something or someone keeping them apart?

Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I loved Texting My Secret Santa. Asher is back in town after a ten year absence, her brothers best friend. She’s always had a thing for him but he never saw her that way and why would he, she was a child. Holly isn’t a child any longer and Asher is seeing her in a new light. Unfortunately, she’s his best friends little sister and life is cruel, he can’t have her. Their chemistry is undeniable but they try, unfortunately someone else knows something is going on and wants to cause them trouble. I loved the story and the characters. A little drama and lots of steamy scenes. I would definitely recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I took a break from this author for a bit and this was a great book to come back to. The texting trope is one of my favorites and she did it well with this one. My only complaint is Dan, especially in chapter 27. I don't get why Dan had so much power, why he had the right. It didn't make sense other than to manufacture strife. There was no back story for why he would care at all and not want the best for both of them.

Until Asher returns and is stays with her brother while his apartment. Heated feelings start to appear. It is while working at Holly's brother's company and with the help of texting secret Santa. A relationship starts but they must keep it under wraps. That is until Holly gets a stalker.

Another fantastic story by Flora Ferrari. Every time a book comes out I can't wait to read it. I enjoyed Asher and Holly and the journey they take to find a happy ending together. Even though they don't get together easily, it doesn't take away from their feelings for each other and they realize that they are happier together than apart. Great storyline and characters that kept your attention. Highly recommended!

Texting My Secret Santa was a fantastic OTT romance by Flora Ferrari. Asher came home to work with and spend time reconnecting with his best friend Dan. Holly is Dan's little sister and she has definitely grown up since he last saw her. One thing that hasn't changed is Holly's crush on Dan. There is super charged tension and intense chemistry between them. As they fight the attraction, they unwittingly become texting secret Santas at work and the texts get flirtier with each message. Definitely recommend!

It starts out innocently enough. The entire company exchanges cell phones that are programmed with employee secret Santas. The idea is to text your SS and share details about Christmas gifts. What happens is a different gift altogether. The texts get spicy and beyond sexy. What’s the harm in that? No harm, no foul, just a little fun. Until the SS in question is her brother’s best friend. It’s forbidden, off limits, and can be kept a secret. Until it isn’t. 🤫.
