So good!! This book was so good! The perfect enemies to lovers romantasy! I loved every moment of it and I can’t wait for the next book!!
The story was paced well and had me glued to the pages. I loved the pace of the relationship as well. It was a nice slow burn and then that ending… eek (no spoilers so you’ll just have to read to find out lol)
Dahlia was a fantastic female lead. I loved her independence and her fierce nature. She wasn’t willing to back down and would do anything for those she loved. Her self growth was heartwarming as well!
Neve was a hardened warrior who seemed arrogant and cruel but wasn’t. I enjoyed his story and loved seeing more underneath the mask with him. I look forward to uncovering more.
This story was the perfect enemies to lover with both characters being hurt by the other species and I just loved how everything played out and the overall theme message of the story itself.
There were so many good tropes in here that make for the perfect read; enemies to lovers, forced proximity, tension, banter, monster romance, frost giant/human, imposter bride, arranged political marriage, royalty, one horse, one bed, fiery FMC, monster king MMC, morally grey characters, no right choice, betrayals, secrets, wife, touch her and xx vibes, who did this to you?, and so much more!!!
'Run, because she'd created a monster and broken his heart.'
Sooo, I gave this 3.5 stars bcz 4 seemed like too much but 3 too little. I love the writing and world building! The tension was good and some slight banter that I believe was decent
"Stay out if you know what is good for," Flyka yelled into the barn. "We're bathing and you don't want a dagger to the throat." The giantess slammed the door closed and offered the tiniest closed lipped smile.'
The characters were alright. I think my favourite being Flyka and Owlen. And ofc Neve.
"I'm scared of the monsters." "I'll protect you," he found himself saying. "There are no monsters here."
Soo, I would recommend if your looking for a small fantasy.
A couple quotes:
"Jaiell vei," Lia returned with just as much sweetness. A family feud. How delightful.
"You can't change who you are. But you can learn to accept and love it. That is the only way you will ever be free."
"I do have one more question for you." He eyed her. "What?" "Will you pierce my ear?"
I was surprisingly invested in this and loving every second! I did not want to put this down, and I was immediately interested in this from the first couple of chapters. I've never read a human and monster book, and this was perfection. The best thing about this was the pacing. I am literally floored at how perfect the pacing is for the entirety of this book. You're never waiting for something to happen in the plot, and it's never too much going on at once. Immediately, you see the human and monster court and what the plan and settings are. There is no part in this book where it's boring, and you're just kind of reading to get a feel for the settings and people until the main characters are introduced. Most books I feel like have a good chunk of about 10-30% of just fluff, and this has none of that!
Dahlia gets forced into being the decoy human princess and tasked with killing the frost king. Little does she know she has to marry him while also acting as a spy before ending him. As she is forced to travel to the giant realm as the only human, she gets sick and is put to the test. She is a lovely character and she is so raw and real which made me love her. I love that she wasn't always 100% tough and badass, but she held her own as she battled sickness, mental turmoil in coming to terms with her tasks, she had anxiety and fear for her brother she left behind, and she was kind and compassionate to the monsters even in the face of fear. The frost king is cold and cruel for appearances, but honestly sweet and caring for her despite his previous disgust for humans. The attraction they have isn't forced, and it's not so in your face like most fantasy books. I loved how this story played out, and I wish there was more. I wish this book was like 800+ pages because I was not ready for it to end, and I was not expecting where this book left off. I thought the opposite would happen 😅 This was an easy 5-star read, and I'm so impressed.
The only negative I had was a lot of typos and grammatical errors. It started to bother me because I kept noticing them and eventually started to highlight them in the last 20%-ish of the book because there were SO many. This definitely needed another round of editing or a different editor, IMO.

Get excited, because this new fantasy romance novel is just what you've been looking for. Dahlia is ready to finish paying back the Giver for the debt that she and her brother incurred. However, her brother Cosmos has gone missing...again. Turns out, he and his friends got themselves into some trouble, and now Dahlia must face the consequences. But the price she must pay won't be in the way she expected. I devoured this book. The author drew me in with the simplest things and kept me page-turning for more. If you're like me and love a good flashback, settle in because this book has them in all the right places to give this story depth and intrigue! I couldn't put this book down. I will admit I wanted a touch more drama (things to go less in Dahlia's favor in certain scenes), but the author does a good job surprising me with a solid twist in unexpected places to balance things out. Brace yourself for delicious romance, and a cliffhanger that will leave you eager for more. Bring on book two, because it can't come soon enough!
Wow. Just… wow. I am a huge fan of the Aermian Feuds series, so this book had some big shoes to fill. Once I got about a third of the way into this book, I couldn’t seem to put it down. It ruined my sleep two nights in a row and that was with me forcing myself to put it away. The world building was done in such an interesting and engaging way. It never felt like an info dump at any point. I loved all of the characters and the dual POV. The moral dilemmas had me wondering what I would do in Lia’s place. I’m so here for a strong badass female lead. The chemistry between Lia & Neve was great and I thoroughly enjoyed Neve’s awakening to those human experiences. The spicy was mild, but feels like it’s building to more in the future. A true enemies to lovers tale and my heart is aching at the ending to this book. I can hardly wait to see where the rest of this story takes Lia & Neve, as well as all the other characters.
This is the first book in the Entangled with Trickery series, a monster romance fantasy where the monster love interest hates humans and a fake princess who will do anything for her family. There are a few dark elements to this story so please read the trigger warnings. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own.

The Lovely: I wasn’t sure what to think about this book going into it as I don’t read a ton of monster romances, especially in a fantasy setting. But by the second chapter I was entranced and couldn’t put the book down - as in I read it in one evening. While I’ve read stories with a similar basic premise (she’s intended to kill her soon to be husband in an arranged marriage), I found the application of that basic premise to be unique. She’s got her own strong motivations and biases, as does he. But neither of them know what they other’s are. It made for a tension filled story of pining, torn desires and ultimately, loyalty.
Also Lovely: So she’s a human, and he’s a “monster.” Really, he’s a blue-skinned, black-eyed frost giant. One that is entirely clueless about humans (which causes some kinda-funny interactions). I came to love both of them and their chemistry was definitely on clear display.
Recommendation: That ending surprised me! I didn’t think that would happen at all. But here we are friends with a big cliff-hanger and I’m not certain how it’s going to resolve. Book two is slated for release in January 2026 so I will anxiously be awaiting the next book. If you like a slowburn fantasy romance but want to expand into monster romance a bit, this is a great place to start and I think most readers would enjoy this book!
I give it 3 stars because it was entertaining! 3 stars based on vibes!
Yes the book had boxes of cliches checked off. But my gosh it’s so cheesy and not good writing! Let me list some reasons why. In no particular order.
1. Neve is blue. With 2 hearts. And a black tongue. No. 2. The giants don’t kiss but call what humans do MOUTH MATING?! Wth? Then when he finally kisses her at the end he says he enjoyed mating her mouth? No. Gross. No. Just say kissing. 3. The author included a glossary. But half the words weren’t included. And you couldn’t make sense of them through context. I was annoyed flipping back and forth to the glossary to only have the definition given half of the time.
I’m also annoyed at the cliffhanger. Dahlia’s a dummy and should have made a different choice. I will give the author props because I enjoyed Dahlia’s character until the end. How she connected with the people. Stepped into the role she was forced into. The personalities were developed well!
So overall, it was fine. Amusing. Entertaining. At times so bad, you had to stop and laugh.
It’s an interesting world with interesting characters. High stakes and political intrigue. Lia is put in a really precarious position, with no good solutions.
Not a fan of the cliffhanger ending. I felt like the story cut off right at the point I was waiting for. Still, it’s effective, as I plan to read the next.
Serious Cliffhanger ending, so beware. There is some world building and overall character development missing, but it is still a quick fun read. Slow burn, enemies to lovers and possibilities for quite an interesting second book.
Wow. Loved it! I am so into the characters and always wanted to know what happened next. I screamed when I finished this book and realized I have to wait for the next. That ending killed me
After so many 5 star reads in a row, this one was a bit of a letdown. The writing was just okay, the plot was unoriginal, and the characters were very forgettable. 🤷🏼♀️
While I was still reading this at like 75% done, I was originally going to rate it three stars but the ending changed my mind.
I like Lia's character and how good of a person she is at heart. She's always taken care of her brother even when his habits continuously get them in trouble and hadn't ever complained about it besides one time in a flashback where she was much younger which is understandable.
I understood her hatred towards the Loriians and honestly thought "yeah man that's justified" and was content on her keeping that hatred but I was so glad to see her get character development and really soak in the wise words of Loshika.
I didn't particularly like Neve as a character but he eventually grew on me as well, the same as Lumi.
I lowkey kinda hated Lumi, especially after her conversation with Neve when he confronts her about making Lia sleep in the same room as him and I certainly didn't like her much when she tried to hurt and kill Lia, but in that scene I'm really happy with the fact that Lia saved her and they were content to be civil with each other afterwards.
We only vaguely hear of her writing letters to the queen which makes sense because from what we've seen, there isn't much to write about. The thing is we never hear anything about anyone answering her. She does mention briefly "maybe they're not even sending these letters" but that's not confirmed so that was a bit confusing.
It was even more of a shock for me when Bacti ended up being on the side of the queen and shit. I've been traumatized from reading too many bad books so when he pulled her into the dark corner and started talking I thought he was going to do something terrible to her and was glad (story wise at least) that he only was just betraying his king though I feel is anyone were to be the person to tell the kingdom that Lia's not the princess and is an assassin yada yada, it should not be him. If I were Lia personally that would just be even more of a dishonor to me.
When I was at the 75% mark of this book, I was getting sort of nervous about how the ending was going to go and the fact there were only so many pages left to do it with but this ending certainly didn't disappoint. I think the cliff hanger they ended with was genius and it's making me so eager to read the next book and find out what's going to happen. It sort of reminds me of the ending of Powerless.
Overall I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would, especially because I was influenced to read it from a TikTok (it was the author's video but we don't talk about it)
Short and sweet, keeps me hooked, and I'm looking forward to the next book.

💫Fantasy (Book 1 in series) ❄️Frost Giant King x Human 🙈Hidden Identities 💔Enemies to Lovers ⚔️Brink of War 👿Betrayal
Review I love when I get to really connect and stay with characters on a journey. This is an exceptional first act, brilliantly setting the stage for what's to come and ending on a ch0kehold of a cliffhanger. An arranged marriage between a human (Dahlia) and a frost giant King (Neve) has quite the twist because Dahlia is actually not the Princess they think her to be.
She's to be used as a pawn to infiltrate the frost giants for the benefit of the human king and queen's military tactics to weaken their perceived enemy. The enemies to lovers trope is in full force here and the trek the couple and entourage makes, taking her to the King's home, is about half the book and builds beautiful layers into each's persona. They both have their own qualms about the other's species and history of war. They both have past traumas and wounds.
However, Dahlia in particular is truly an iron rose. She may be at risk throughout the harsh weather conditions of the journey (and the icy mask of her betrothed), but she proves highly resilient and ever so gracious and forgiving to her "captors". She wants to see healing to both sides but blackmail rears its ugly head, just as she and Neve begin thawing the coldness between them.
Pressure is set upon her to fatally harm her new husband, who has begun to show her a side to himself that is protective, inquisitive, caring and kind. I loved the slow burn of this book! Some may not have the patience and that's a shame because this is the kind of character diving and build up essential to powerful drama.
I'm unequivocally hooked on this new series and am on pins and needles for book two!
Frost Kay really knows how to write an enemies-to-lovers story. The tension, the attraction, the back-and-forth, and the passion just get to me. I have all of that and more in her stunning new book, Frost Bound.
Delilah was such a likable character. She has a fiery spirit and is protective of those that she loves. She was brave and intelligent, willing to face anything for those she loved. Even with that fiery spirit, she had an open heart. Neve wasn't very likable at first. However, as the story went on, I liked him more and more. It was hard for him to let go of his hatred when he was in constant pain, but the moments when he let go and just saw Lia, are what made me like him. Neve does have a heart, and like Lia, he guards it well. Oh, the tension. The battle of wills between Neve and Lia was epic. Basically, they were angry-flirting with each other the entire time.
The Frost Giant kingdom was stunning. Frost did a great job with the world-building; the frost giant's kingdom feels like magic. The hatred on both the giant's side and the human's side is palpable. However, I am surprised by how accepting the giants are of Lia and how she is more open to them as well when she has every right to be distrustful. I liked how she took the time to get to know the people and appreciate the kingdom's beauty. Lia was put into a horrific position, to either save her family or do the right thing. Her secret was hanging over my head the entire book, and I was just waiting for that axe to fall. Talk about being on edge.
Oh. My. Gods! That ending was like a knife to the heart. Think happy thoughts. Think happy thoughts. Ugh! Now what am I supposed to do? The wait to see how that jaw-dropper turns out will be unbearable, but I know it will be worth it.
I would like to apologize for the delayed review. I took my time reading this book because I wanted to fully immerse myself in its world. Initially, I was uncertain about its quality, but I resisted the urge to rush through it. Once I became captivated by the narrative, I found myself eagerly turning the pages. Consequently, I purchased an e-book version of the book. After completing it, I promptly pre-ordered the second installment. The ending was particularly impactful, leaving me eager to delve into more of the author’s work. This book has earned a place in my auto-buy list, as I have never read anything quite like it. I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in this world and the author’s remarkable creation of the characters. The writing style is truly exceptional. The book is narrated from multiple perspectives, primarily through the eyes of Neve and Dahila. The complex relationship between these two characters, marked by both hatred and love, is particularly intriguing given their shared circumstances. The suspense in the book is masterfully crafted, and Dahila’s character is particularly relatable as she grapples with the unknown dangers she faces. Her decision to take on the role of a princess and attempt to kill the Frost King is both courageous and foolish, and her interactions with Neve showcase the author’s ability to evoke both empathy and frustration. While I found some of Neve’s actions to be questionable, I appreciated his unwavering support for Dahila, despite her birth defect. This aspect of his character resonated deeply with me. Despite some of the morally ambiguous actions he takes, I highly recommend this book. I extend my gratitude to the author and RrBookTours for providing me with this opportunity to read and review this exceptional work.
OMG!! You know when you're in the mood for certain themes/tropes and it hits EXACTLY like how you wanted to?? *CHEF'S KISS!!*
I loved the angst and tension between Neva and Lia but it did feel to me- like their scenes could have more of a built up to why BUT I STILL ATE IT UP! They had to work their own traumas, differences, and relationship- I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE OF IT IN BOOK TWO!! I need book two NOW.
There were only a scene or two that made me cringe but I moved. It was a slowburn which I absolutely love though. However, at times, it felt like nothing was happening but also happening? It was kind of like filler scenes almost but still pertained to the story.
I hope we get more of each MC's thoughts and feelings. I love them SO MUCH. It almost felt like Lia was Lia is a quiet but strong FMC!!
I want to I'm interested to see how everything will play out. GIVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE. IT WAS A FEEL GOOD HONESTLY DESPITE THE BETRAYAL AND HIGH STAKES (which i love love love).
I just want to say I appreciated the I was kicking my feet and giggling.
Tropes: Romantasy Warfare Monster romance (frost giant x human) Slow burn x tension Arranged marriage 'Enemies' to lovers Hidden identity Betrayal One bed "Who hurt you?"
I devoured this book. It was a glorious SLOW burn with a heck of a cliffhanger at the end! The characters and world building are terrific.
I loved how Neve and Lia were willing to learn about each other’s cultures and physiology. Enemies to lovers done amazingly well. The tension, banter, miscommunication, learning, growing and sacrifice was top notch.
Lia is so brave and fierce. She will do anything to keep her family safe. Even masquerade as the princess and marry the frost giant to appease the crown. She will NOT show weakness to her new “husband” or to the King and Queen. She toughs out a really treacherous journey and surprises everyone just how much she endured with zero complaint.
Neve knows the only way to stave off war is to marry a human. He doesn’t want to, they’re frail and weird. But it’s what’s best for the kingdom. His little human bride is a force to be reckoned with. She will not back down from a fight even when she most certainly should.
How both Neve and Lia tried to be an actual partner to the other and make the best of their arrangement was beautiful. Lia starts to learn his language and customs and Neve has assumptions of human behavior that Lia explains. He doesn’t understand why she’s so bashful and won’t let him or others see her naked. Bodily difference are celebrated in his culture whereas humans will cast you aside for being different. The learning curve for these two on the trip back to Neves castle was steep.
I had a feeling I was going to like this book based on the synopsis- it exceeded my expectations!
I really enjoyed getting to know these characters! I'm new to the monster romance world- at least I think this qualifies as a monster romance 🤔 but i quite like it! I don't know how I would feel if we ventured super far into monster territory, but I'm digging the Frost King!
I adore the main character, Dahlia- one of my favorite flowers! Her stubbornness is endearing and/or maddening at times. I feel awful about the situation she is put in. She is so genuinely kind and loving, even after suffering a terrible tragedy. I really love her personality. I am excited to see her development in the next book.
Speaking of the next book, I'm going to need that STAT! These cliff-hanger endings KILL ME!
The MMC is awesome and I'm feeling all kinds of things because of the ending. I'm scared about the next book! The character growth throughout this story is wonderful and I'm rooting for all of them! So many amazing supporting characters as well!
If you like these tropes: 👰🏼♀️Forced marriage 😶🌫️Espionage 🧌Monster romance 💎Rags to riches 🐎 One horse 🔥Slow burn 😱Betrayal 👩❤️💋👨Enemies to lovers 😲Cliff-hanger ending
Frost Bound by Frost Kay is a magical and enthralling read that will have you kicking your feet and screaming at the turn of each page.
I BLASTED through this book, reading it in less than 24 hours. Once I started I could not put it down for anything. I loved the super slow burn, the secrets and betrayals, and the developed characters. Dahlia is such a strong and kind lead that I emphasized with her heavily when it came to her immensely difficult and unfair situation. Neve is an incredible mmc with a very complex story and deep rooted feelings. I felt I really could understand the turmoil these two characters had between each other and their species.
I also really loved the world building, the cultural development of the frost grants, and the complete differences it had vs human culture and social standards. The balance between the denial, tension, yearning, and then the politics and action was incredible! Lastly as someone who suffers from self-love and acceptance, this book really spoke to me with Dahlia’s struggles with her own. I hope to watch her journey progress with her own self love and acceptance.
And that cliff hanger? I need the next book like yesterday!!
Fans of fantasy, slow burn romance, enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, betrayals, and high stakes will love this! I know I sure did, staying up nearly all night to finish it!
I LOVED IT!! this is what i expect when i ask for a well written romantasy! I LOVED the mmc and i absolutely ADORED the FMC!! i need book 2 like i need air! I'm so glad it's coming out this month or else i would've pulled my hair out from the roots. the FMC Dahlia, is smart, sweet, compassionate, and so strong. she represented the emotional maturity of an older sister so well… or maybe that’s just me? im not really sure if I can explain what i mean, but just that her personality fits being an older sister very well. the MMC is soooo sweet and caring!! he was very tough at the beginning but the way he started to soften up was everything i wanted!! the only reason i didn’t give it five stars is because it felt like her purpose for being chosen was discarded like it never existed for half of this book when it would’ve made more sense if she was always getting a reminder that her time is running out or something like that. maybe threats from Jekket or something. but it felt like it was a half assed poisoning. the author really rushed the ending, i understand maybe that was for the purpose of ending the book with a cliffhanger but I still would’ve appreciated more details. however, i’m still not mad at allll about it. this book got me out of my reading slump, and i'm incredibly grateful for that, now i just need book 2 immediatelyyyy
Unpopular opinion incoming!!! I actually really enjoyed this read, it was a little on the brain candy side but that’s fine with me, and a treat everyone deserves from time to time. Here’s the thing though, I could not believe this was the end of the book. I literally read the last page expecting another quarter of the book to be left. This creates a story that just does not stand on its own. There was no resolution to the original conflict at all. The author glosses over Lia’s meeting with the spy as if that wouldn’t have made for a fantastic setup for this final showdown. The resolution should have been the fallout of her action, where things get muddier and lead to the next book. (Even that does not make this book whole but it would be closer to it) add this to my growing list of series that shouldn’t be series. I’d be surprised if these characters stay in my brain long enough for me to remember to read the next book when it comes out in 2026, and I doubt I will see any resolution there either. There is most certainly a time for cliffhangers, but in my opinion this just doesn’t cut it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Frostbound was everything unexpected, but perfectly right. I love this twist on the Goose girl--which it is, but isn't really a retelling of. There are some similarities, but there's enough of the author's own twist that it's also completely different as well. I do however love Neve and Lia! Even though they're different, well, species...sort of, they're also perfect for each other. And I love how Lia begins to win over much of Neve's people, and Neve, even as the majority of them are ingrained to hate her. And I love that Neve is actually a bit of a cinnamon roll underneath that hard and angry/aloof exterior of his. The angst hit me HARD at the end though. I was preparing myself for it, but it still hurt. And now, dangit, I NEED to know what's going to happen in Scorched Wings. That fallout is going to be on helluva doozy. And I'm desperate to know how Lia is going to fare against it all. Plus, I just really want all the secrets between them to be aired out. Whoo, it's going to get messy in book 2!
I'm not usually one for a Monster Romance, but this one just sucked me right in! I really enjoyed the differences between Frost Giant and Human, and how Frost Kay made them noticeable and even humorous at times. Neve is trying to create peace for his country and end countless years of unending bloodshed and pain, and Dahlia is thrust against her will into a world far beyond her as a substitute for her princess and an assassin. Even amongst all their glaring differences, little do they know how much they really have in common, and how much their feelings for one another, and their opposing races, may grow. I REALLY enjoyed Neve and how much he grew and learned about humans, and how they tick. He was a very curious soul, and I found a lot of his journey humorous and adorable. This was actually a really cute story, I really enjoyed it. There's no steam in this book, but there is a little action...and a mild cliffhanger. I literally am on the edge of my seat, and I'm so disappointed that book 2 isn't here yet. I cannot wait to see what happens!!
I absolutely love a very well written enemies to lovers book.....this book took up all my time until I finished it. A monster love story where the monster hates humans is exactly what you need for your next read!! It was extremely hard to put down. Everything about it was well balanced and paced at a perfect development pace! The character growth and the relationships grew at a pace that made it so easy to love these characters even more! I loved Dahlia!!
She was very independent and very fierce yet not for the situation that she was thrown in. I think that her ups and downs made her so raw and easier to relate to! She didn't come across as the hardcore FMC that has her crap in line and to me that made me enjoy her character line so much more!! The Frost King is mean and does not hide his disgust for humans. With that being said he does show a softer side towards Dahlia even with her being human. As the book goes on we tend to spot softer sides of him!! I'm ready to dive into book 2 to see what's next in line for them!!
Frost Bound is perfect for romantasy readers who enjoy: ✨️fiery enemies to lovers romance ✨️arranged marriage ✨️epic fantasy adventure ✨️sexy monster villains ✨️slow burn with ALL the tension, ✨️mythical sidekicks
Overall 4.5 ⭐️. I DEVOURED this book! I literally stayed up until 3am reading 😂. I loved the storyline with the harrowing journey, hidden identities, slow burn tension, and heart-wrenching angst 🤌. I don't know how many books are planned for the series, but this was a fantastic start! Frost Bound is 434 pages, and it feels like we're just getting started! That cliffhanger had me reeling, and I guarantee the next book is going to be epic! I can't wait 🙌
The only constructive criticism I have is there is too frequent use of the italicized, additional language words (I can't think of a good way to describe these - salos, valles/vallos). I like their use in pet names, arguments, etc, but it's frequent enough to be distracting. Still absolutely loved the story though.
Thanks so much to the author and MTMC tours for the gifted copy!
You know how sometimes you pick something because your mood calls for it and it turns out it’s exactly what you needed to be happy. It was the case with this one for me. Read it in one day and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2.

In this story, you really get to connect with the characters and see their relationship evolve, which I’m super fan of. From their first meeting I was hooked on Neve and Dahlia’s relationship. Their willingness to learn about each other’s cultures and differences, their banter, the sacrifices they are ready to make for the people they love, all pretty satisfying.
Neve was so freaking cute in his grumpy ways, and I loved seeing him start to develop feelings for the tiny human he is supposed to hate. And Dahlia was showing a super strong side, but also some vulnerabilities that were making it easy to relate to her and love her even more. I was really looking forward to seeing how she would navigate this situation she’s been forced into, it was all so interesting.
The slow burn was absolutely yummy and brought us to a dramatic ending that hit even more with that perfect build up. I loved that the pacing was smooth and kind of cozy feeling even though there are high stakes. There wasn’t too much going at the same time, you really got to see all that was happening on its own time. Definitely will want to read more of this author!
Thanks to the author and MTMC Tours for sending me a copy of the book. All opinions are my own.
Sum up: A cute enemies to lovers, featuring monsters, royal politics, and found families. 4.5 stars rounded up
Dahlia, to save her brother, must impersonate the princess, and marry the Frost Prince (a race of blue giants); a group that humans are at war with. I loved following the character's development as they learnt of each other's cultures and how to accept one another's differences, and I think this was the strongest aspect of the book. I felt like it was well-paced, even if there wasn't much action, it was all about the emotional development between Dahlia and Neve, and it made for a cosy read.
I felt like Neve was portrayed as a hardened warrior but he actually came across as quite fluffy to me (which I liked!), and I hope in the sequel, that Dahlia is able to reveal that side of him more. I did find the ending rather abrupt (cliffhanger twist), and was expecting Dahlia to go a different way, but I appreciate the utter turmoil she must have been under, and to be honest, I respect her for going to any length for her brother! (I was just imagining, that seeing as she's a smart character, that she would have found a loophole, or maybe tackled a conversation with Neve... but let's face it... if I was a fantasy character, I probably wouldn't survive long xD )
