"It is hard not to feel that she’s already dead when she is the only one in a mind full of psychopaths."
Alice Steeple is very good at disassociation. Unlike other patients with multiple personalities, Alice’s personas don’t just live in her head; she physically manifests them. Each time one of them appears, they leave holes in Alice’s memories and crimes she didn’t commit.
Off the coast of Seoul, Alice is taken and drowned—when she wakes up, it’s with her killer’s face. Following a trail of deaths and a manhunt after her, she is forced to trust her Korean ex-lover or find the real killer on her own. Everyone, even her other selves, is a suspect. Each death brings Alice closer to the truth about herself—and closer to the edge of insanity.

As someone who just recently got back into reading (New Year’s resolutions), this book was an absolutely ride and the perfect way to reignite my love for reading. It's twisted, dark, and so unpredictable—I genuinely couldn't put it down.
The plot had me hooked from the very first chapter. Just when I thought I had figured out what would happen next, the story would take me in a completely different direction while maintaining a sensible storyline/plot. The author’s writing is gripping, and the characters are layered and complex. They make you question everything, including your own instincts.
If you’re into psychological thrillers or even just looking for something to pull you out of a reading slump, this is it. Highly recommend for fans of suspense and mind-bending twists!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Dark and Haunting Psychological Thriller
Manifest by Yuki Song is a wild ride through trauma, identity, and some seriously messed-up family dynamics. Alice, who has dissociative identity disorder (DID), is just trying to live her life, but between her alternate personalities, a twisted past, and her father’s horrifying experiments, things get intense.
The story jumps between past and present, slowly unraveling the secrets behind Alice’s childhood and her fight to take control of her mind. Her relationships with her alters—especially Merle and Peter—are fascinating, and the psychological depth is so well done. The suspense never lets up, and I was completely hooked from start to finish.
It’s dark, emotional, and sometimes downright disturbing (seriously, Michael Harris is next-level messed up), but it keeps you turning the pages. If you love thrillers with deep character exploration and a touch of psychological horror, this one is definitely worth checking out!
