About the author

H.G. Chambers is a huge nerd. I mean, you should see this guy’s collection of Zelda, Star Wars, D&D, and Tolkien nonsense! He’s also written a few books, I’m told, though chances are they’re equally nerdy. So unless you’re fluent in Klingon and enjoy painfully drawn out conversations about obscure Elden Ring lore, maybe don’t ask what he’s into. Despite what should be a catastrophic social handicap, he’s managed to find an awesome wife and has two implausibly awesome kids (talk about beating the odds). H.G.C. lives out his pathetically nerdy life on Vancouver Island, Canada, where people are polite, and the geese are complete jerks. Seriously…don’t mess with the geese, they will end you.

Can I just say what??? to that ending? I am going to be waiting for book four to drop as patiently as I can! There is so much I hope to find out about in the next book. This third book was action packed, the ending especially, and answered some questions I had about Zoe. The thing I really love about this series is the characters and world building. The author did an amazing job! I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend the series.

This is the third book in The Wylds Online series.

I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Book Three delivers all the excitement, adventure, boss battles and some pretty sweet leveling up of skills and weapons I was looking for as well as a hidden level and some seriously mind blowing revelations. Like those questions that have been teased in the previous books - the kind were the person asks are you sure you really want the answer because if I tell you you can't un-know the answer. Yeah, those kind of answers spawn a universe more questions.

Response: Well that was unexpected. I'm starting to wonder if the devs even know what is truly happening in this game! or is it a game? With all the outside real world pressures and influences and [spoiler - sorry you will have to read it yourself for this bit] the initial glitch that started Ben's journey is looking like it is part of a larger and deeper conspiracy than he ever dreamed of.

You know what I like best about this series though is that no matter how high the stakes get, no matter how dire the straits, no matter how serious the moment, Chambers knows how to use humor well and this is not a story that ever takes itself too seriously. In the immortal words of Ben himself "...stupid had been working so far. Why stop now?"

Firstly, don't be put off by Amazon's reading age, I am certainly many decades older and still thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
The series so far has been quite fascinating, combining a LitRPG series with science fiction, and yet not detracting from either. I think it is that blend that makes this series particularly appealing to me, although fans of LitRPG will love it anyway!
It is interesting to see how the characters develop, and also the relationships between them. There are also, of course, plenty of monsters, twists, and strange characters, as you would expect in a book of this type. And a cool library!
All in all, it was a great read, and I particularly enjoyed the scifi element creeping back in towards the end. I did love where the story went.
As someone not a great fan of books about games, this riveting series still has my interest. What greater praise can I give?

This 3rd book is all about the Inceptum, the artifact which could wipe out not only the wylds but earth itself if it fell into the wrong hands. So Ben and his friends knew that they had to keep it out of Fate's hands no matter what, however they were soon to find out that Fate were not the only group interested in getting Inceptum back. The Gods themselves seemed to have a vested interest in this and they were out to see that Ben, Will and Zoe did what the Gods intended with the Inceptum.Though all three are gaining in strength and endurance will they be able to face not only Fate, but the Gods themselves? This story is getting more and more intriguing and the ending is a real cliffhanger which makes me want book 4 immediately at hand to continue following our team's adventures both in the wyld and back home. The ending is a massive surprise, so prepare yourselves!

Received as an ARC, this is an honest review. We're only three books into this amazingly written series and the author keeps escalating the demands that face Ben, Zoe and Will - forcing them at every turn to have out smart their enemies, with dying in the game always close at hand.

And this time the trio's darkest enemy is no longer Daedalus and his crew that makes up the guild called Fate. The enemies that are coming out of the shadows are those anyone encounters should be careful of if they are ignored... you don't want to become target of these powerful individuals.

Of all of the secrets already revealed about this bizarre game world and the company at its heart... there's much more to come; especially considering Zoe, whom we already know has a story... and it's a profound tale indeed.

The ending of this book delivers an earthquake of a twist that raises so many questions of what the hell happened.

Highly recommended.

Neither Ben, Will or Zoe had any clue of what the inceptum was, until the revelation!
And what a stunner!
More so when even the gods want it destroyed. And not doing what the gods want, is a sure way to destruction.
Or would it?
This third book in the Wylds Onlineseries by author HG Chambers is really gripping as events unfold that are really surprising, to say the least.
It also makes the news of a book 4 in the series very, very welcome indeed!
Enjoy! 😊

Ben, Will, and Zoe are back and trying to stay alive, meet new friends, and learn secrets along the way. This story just gets better as I follow Ben as he learns more about what is going on. Good guys and bad guys and factions add to all the fun. And cannot forget the inceptum and all its drama. And the gods add to all the chaos. Just a fun story that easily sucks you in and kept me reading to the end. Plus get all the cool game drama itself that was cool.

I received an eARC review copy.
A thrilling conclusion to this first triptych in The Wylds Online. This entry delivered on character development and action. I love the innocence that pervades this series. There’s just a core of goodness to Ben that makes the series feel refreshing. This volume also answers some of our questions about the nature of the conflicts and mysteries in the WYLDs and I found them very compelling.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Ben Will and Zoe must solve the riddle of the small black sphere and also keep it out of the hands of Daedalus. High adventure and nonstop action are the hallmark of this series. With more being revealed about the Wylds along the way. Plus the cliffhanger at the end is truly brilliant. Definitely recommend

Twisty fun with the story

Yeh, this volume had some twists and turns I didn't expect.....but that made the book kinda fun to read. It definitely ended on a story of cliffhanger, but I also think that Chambers did a great job of having a clear 3-book arc on this series. That was a nice change-up from other LitRPG series that tend to just go on and on and on 😅

Received as a ARC reader. Another fast read. In this third book, more information is found out on what has been building for the last two books and was resolved by the book’s end. The end does open another few questions, which looks to be answered in the next book (book 4).

Another fun entry. This book has a little more sci-fi than the fantasy we have been getting. Overall, I have enjoyed this series so far.
