Hi Wonderful Reader, this book holds a special place in my heart (I'll explain why in the acknowledgements) but I do want to warn about some of the content in case this story isn't for you. As a spicy paranormal romance story, you can expect multiple steamy scenes and since my hero is a daemon, you can also expect his anatomy to be slightly unusual. Don’t worry – my heroine loves that about him!
But because your wellbeing matters, I also want to call out some of the more serious themes visited in the

Natasha, the female witch lead, raced home from college, following her intuition, to find her last living relative, her grandmother, killed. Certain her biological father is at fault, she determined never to leave the family property again. Now, ten years later, she’s shocked to find a stranger on her doorstep, offering her money in her father’s name for a spell that he killed her mother over.
Remiel, the male daemon librarian lead, is chasing a spell that was stolen from his library and holds the balance of power critical to maintaining Hell. He’s shocked, however, to realise that he knows Natasha’s magic, having felt it float through Hell on multiple occasions, and that it provokes an unreasonable physical response in him.
Desperate to keep Natasha safe, Remiel says and does whatever he needs to convince her to accept his protection, leaving her infuriated at him overriding her agency. But when Remiel is at risk, Natasha is also willing to provide protection for him. Just not live with him forever…right?
This story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy, contemporary fantasy, daemon/witch romance. I enjoyed Remiel’s willingness to acknowledge how much he cared for Natasha and to go out of his way for her. I empathised with Natasha’s anger and wish to be alone, given her personal history. I enjoyed her character development. I enjoyed the intimate scenes. I enjoyed the non-romance plot.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Well, this one was certainly death and longing and desire and all the feels … and I loved it. Tash and Remeil were a great match for each other, and it was a treat to run into Rohan the Red again 😉 Another fast-paced and action-packed story with dialogue and banter to keep the pages turning. HM sure knows how to bring the characters alive on the page. A must-read for lovers of romantasy.
