A spellbinding tale of the Enrici, the starstruck shapeshifters
In a world where the breath of a star transforms humans in ways we thought impossible, Sarah, a nerdy, rather cocky sixteen-year-old girl, investigates the mysterious death of the last queen. It is not much later, however, that she is visited by a dream… a dream that calls to her like a siren in the sea; a dream that foreshadows a great predestined bond and a perilous journey.
This debut novel by the musician Suinne Clara Lee invites readers on a journey unlike any other—through intricately woven plots, ingenious devices, and enthralling insights into the laws of nature that only she, as an adorer of physics and mathematics, can offer. Though crafted for young readers, the story’s rich layers promise an equally captivating experience for adults.
Hi guys! I'm just letting you know that I'm currently a full time student, and won't be working on my past/future projects, promoting or managing them during the semester. I might work on them briefly during break while I'm back in Korea, though. Thanks for your interest and happy reading!
This is a very solid start to what, I hope, will be a long running series. The Shapeshifting is definitely not something I have frequently read about and I found it fascinating. This book has a few really beautiful descriptive scenes and I like how the author pulls in their love of physics/math to the story. The character building could’ve been better (definitely some awkward conversations)but at times this book is absolutely wonderful. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Suinne Clara Lee's debut novel Code Name Seven offers a refreshing and intellectually stimulating addition to young adult fiction. The story follows Sarah, a sharp-minded and confidently nerdy sixteen-year-old, as she investigates a queen's mysterious death only to be drawn into a dangerous journey by prophetic dreams. What sets this novel apart is Lee's unique background as both a musician and science enthusiast. Her prose flows with a lyrical quality while her passion for physics and mathematics infuses the world-building with fascinating scientific concepts. The "breath of a star" that transforms humanity creates a setting that feels both magical and grounded in scientific possibility. The novel features intricately woven plotlines, inventive technology, and a compelling exploration of predestined connections. Though marketed to young readers, the story's multiple layers and thoughtful examination of natural laws will captivate adult audiences as well. Code Name Seven balances adventure, mystery, and coming-of-age elements with remarkable skill, especially for a debut work. Lee has established herself as a promising new voice in fiction, crafting a universe where cosmic phenomena and human potential intertwine in ways that will leave readers eagerly anticipating her next creation.
This book, the first of the series, is packed with mystery, sci-fi, and adventure. The book follows 16 year old Sarah as she investigates the death of the last queen. She searches for the secrets in the stars, only to find the Enrici, shapeshifters in our everyday world. The author displays her knowledge of physics and mythology through the characters and their adventures of everyday life and history. I think both teens and adults could enjoy this sci-fi fantasy book and will look forward to the books to come.
The author was able to take me back to 16years old again! This is a fantasy, thriller and romance all rolled up into one story. It is about human/animal shapeshifters who are teenagers who are trying to learn about their heritage and to be preyed upon by a species that are eternal time travelers. Can’t wait for the next book. Kudos to Suinne Clara Lee!
This book was fabulous! I loved how Lee immerses you into the world of the Enrici (humans who can take on animal form). She makes the unbelievable, believable and definitely left me excited for the next book in the series. The imagery of the setting and characters takes this book to another level. Wonderful new YA fantasy series.
Wow, this book was absolutely spellbinding! ✨ From the very first page, I was swept into a beautifully imagined world where stars breathe life into the impossible—humans who can shift into animals, called the Enrici. Suinne Clara Lee didn’t just build a world; she immersed me in it. I could feel the chill of the starlight, hear the rustle of feathers and fur, and sense the undercurrent of destiny that tied everything together. Thank you, Suinne, for the chance to review this incredible debut—I’m beyond grateful!
At the heart of the story was Sarah—a nerdy, sarcastic, fiercely intelligent sixteen-year-old who felt like a best friend I hadn’t met yet. 🧠❤️ Her voice was sharp and witty, but there was a vulnerability beneath her confidence that made me ache for her. When she began investigating the mysterious death of the last queen, I thought I was in for a clever YA whodunit—but this story was so much more.
Soon, Sarah began having haunting, prophetic dreams—ones that called to her like the stars themselves were whispering secrets. 🌌 These dreams unraveled a fate she didn’t ask for but couldn’t turn away from. What followed was an epic journey across worlds and hearts, filled with secrets, betrayal, and stunning revelations about the nature of the Enrici and the bond that connects them.
The plot was intricately woven, full of unexpected twists and gasp-worthy turns. The technology in the book felt both magical and deeply rooted in real science—physics and mathematics were blended so seamlessly that it felt like discovering a secret universe beneath our own. ⚛️ Suinne Clara Lee’s background as a musician and a lover of the sciences really shone through—her writing had a lyrical quality, and the worldbuilding felt both poetic and precise.
But what truly stood out was the emotion in the story. It was about identity, purpose, and belonging. It was about what it means to be human—and what it means to be something more. I cried. I laughed. I highlighted so many lines that made my heart stop for a beat.
And yes—this was just the beginning. The ending left me breathless and eager for the next installment. I can’t wait to see where Sarah’s journey takes her next.

This was a stunning start to what promises to be an unforgettable YA fantasy series. I’m starstruck, truly.
This was such a breathtaking and rich narrative. The author did an incredible job of world-building in this novel, giving readers a sense of the unknown right out of the gate and allowing readers to feel the chaos and curiosity, as well as the fear, that comes when the protagonist’s entire sense of reality is upended in a moment. The mythos surrounding the Enrici and the physics behind transformation as a whole was so unique and original, and something that I had not yet come across in any supernatural or fantasy-driven narrative before, making this so creative in its delivery.
The theme of transformation was so powerful in this novel, in more ways than one. How the physical transformation Sarah was undergoing as she embraced her new life, mirrored her transformation from young adult to adulthood, was eloquently brought together. The lyrical, almost magical quality of the author’s writing style was beautiful. It transported the reader into every moment. At the same time, the heartfelt connections between the characters, especially Sarah and Carlos, kept the reader invested in the story long enough to become engrossed in the worldbuilding.
The Verdict
Remarkable, entertaining, and thrilling, author Suinne Clara Lee’s “Code Name Seven” is the perfect coming-of-age fantasy narrative and a great start to the Starstruck Hunters trilogy. The twists and turns in the narrative, the outstanding balance between mythology and physics the author brought from their own life, and the harrowing adventure readers are brought along on made this an exciting new series to get invested in.

I loved this book! As the story unfolds of Sarah’s journey with ‘changing’ her words at one point “Why me, why me?” grabbed me. She first tried to navigate what was happening to her by going through her normal routines, until she learned what, where, and how, of who she is. It was interesting to see what happened to her, and to others, and watch her building a relationship with Carlos.
