One fierce alpha. One reluctant mate. A love that was meant to be.
Noah has always been the quiet, steady presence in his pack. But his peaceful life is upended when his pack hosts the regional summit, bringing packs from across the country to his doorstep—and with them, Jackson, the boy who saved his life years ago.
Jackson is no longer the impulsive young wolf who shielded Noah from danger. Now the confident and determined future alpha of his pack, Jackson has grown into his role as a leader. But there’s one thing his wolf has never the moment it imprinted on Noah all those years ago.
When pack tensions flare and old rivalries threaten to derail the summit, Jackson is ready to do whatever it takes to protect Noah, even if it means exposing his long-held secret. But Noah isn’t sure he’s ready to be anyone’s mate—especially not the enigmatic, commanding wolf who’s never left his thoughts.
With alliances crumbling and danger closing in, Noah and Jackson must decide if the bond between them is strong enough to overcome fear, duty, and the shadows of the past.
Noah is the fourth book in the Pecan Pines series.
I seem to be the exception here, but I didn't like this book. The plot was sort of appealing at first, but then nothing much happened. There were many packs meetings that were not showed or descriced, so I couldn't know what they discussed in them. Then the relationship between Jackson and Noah felt forced and things seemed to change quickly from being friends to something more. It didn't happen naturally, it was like in one page they were keeping their distance and in the next one they were kissing. I just don't know what to think about this book. It felt like I was missing on things all the time and the plot didn't follow a normal course. Oh well.
"We were standing at the edge of something, and I wasn’t sure if it was going to pull us under or set us free."
This is book 4 in the Pecan Pines series by Fel Fern and Kara Kitt. Since I read the other three, as soon as I saw this one on Booksprout I knew I had to have it.
I enjoyed the story of Jackson and Noah. I've been curious when Noah would get his story told since he's been in all the prior books, I knew it was just a matter of time.
After 13 years these two childhood friends came together again at a pack summit hosted by Noah's Pecan Pines pack. There's some angst surrounding one of the visiting packs and the pack Alpha Adrian. Adrian's pack doesn't get along with any of the other packs present plus he is determined to come between Jackson and Noah.
Childhood friends, fated mates, rival packs, there always has to be that one pack Alpha that's a bully, bullies never win... just ask Ryder
This is book 4 in the Pecan Pines series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone read. This is the story of Noah and Jackson. The two have been friends throughout childhood. While belonging to different packs, when they got together they always managed to find some trouble to get into. They reconnect when Noah's pack hosts the regional summit. The chemistry that they have always had together sparks once again. The bond that they have together grows but it is not without troubles. A jealous childhood acquaintance has now become the alpha of his own pack. And he is not happy about the two of them becoming reacquainted. This is their story. It is written well and is easy to read. I liked the chemistry between them. I was looking forward to reading Noah's story.

Tense and exciting. Jackson, Noah and Adrian are wolves from different packs. Jackson and Noah met each other periodically over the years and developed a friendship. Adrian was always throwing a shade at one or both of them. After several years, Noah's pack Pecan Pines is hosting the annual summit. They reconnect, all grown up with grown up feelings. Noah and Jackson are rediscovering their friendship. Adrian, is still the troublemaker. Now he has grown up motives. Adulting brings new feelings, many questions and challenges. Good flow, a bit of excitement and uncomfortable conflicts. Good on the edge of our seats story. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review
When they were younger, Noah and Jackson were friends. Meeting each summer when local packs got together for a summett. But not realizing they were to be more than friends, it was 10 years before they saw each other again. But the mate draw is strong, but rival pack making trouble is just as strong. I enjoyed everything about this book. Really well written, has cameos of past characters from other books, the heat between them is scorching but not too x rated. Putting this series on my re-read list!
Stuff I Want To Mention: Am I the only one who thinks Noah was a little bitch? He’s honestly the main reason I dropped this from a 5 to 3 star book. Like. Of course Jackson is going to defend you and want to protect you?? Why would that mean he thinks you can’t do it yourself? He never alluded to that, he just cares about you? THEN HE APOLOGIZES TO YOU AND YOU ACCEPT IT AND DON’T APOLOGIZE YOURSELF AFTER TREATING HIM LIKE THAT AROUND ALL THOSE PEOPLE? And what's with Jackson's brother also saying he should apologize??? I just can't see Jackson being in the wrong anywhere in this story. No. I think Noah should have been the one apologizing, just like when he RAN after the mating. Noah is not mature enough for a relationship and a horrible communicator. Jackson, bless his heart, was too infatuated to make Noah try. Noah seemed like a better character in the other books. This is one of those times where a SC should STAY a side character.
”Frustration welled inside me. Couldn’t Jackson understand he was making things worse and not better? Hell, he ought to be better than this. Where was the patient and level-headed wolf I admired?”
This is what he said after Jackson came to his defense after Adrian basically threatens him and causes a “shiver to run down his spine”. Noah’s brother had already warned him about Adrian too. Then Jackson comes over and looks Noah over, obviously worried about Adrian hurting him. Of course Jackson wants to kill him. You are his love, his mate. He wants to protect and care for you. Then you yell at him and don’t need a babysitter? Threatening Jackson if he follows after? Yeah, very big of you.
A part of me doesn’t even want to give this 3 stars TBH.
It can be safely assumed all of my reviews are from books that are 1st Person, have a HEA, and have no intimate or spicy scenes with anyone/thing other than MC(s). I try to rate books objectively if they have something I don’t typically like (i.e. Break Ups, SA, 3rd Person, Single POV, Sharing Partners). If it’s still written well the author deserves the praise but I will make note to avoid for myself in the future. I do my best to mark different triggers/warnings as well as the intimate acts performed in case anything listed/done might not be something you would want to read. If M/M, Age Play, Interspecies, Insta Love, Erotica, MPreg, or Incest are something you actively avoid, you are probably better off avoiding most of the books I review.
DNF: Something off, couldn’t finish because of it. Maybe me, maybe the book. 1 Star: Just.. Just no, thanks. Do not recommend it. Need mind eraser. 2 Stars: Oh that was something but it was not something for me. 3 Stars: Decent, enjoyed enough. Hit marks it was supposed to. Might recommend. 4 Stars: Really enjoyed it, better than I though it would be. Would recommend. 5 Stars: I can see myself reading this again. Thoroughly enjoyed. Would recommend.
This is the long awaited story about Noah. He has made a showing in each of the stories in the Pecan Pines series. Now it’s his turn to have his story told. Jackson and Noah I have been best friends since childhood and even though they were in different packs, their friendship has always been strong. Now they are getting together when Noah’s pack host the regional Summit and they realise that the spark between them is still strong but Adrian who has also been a part of their lives is now one of the neighbouring packs alpha. He just doesn’t want to play the game and wants to start a conflict with Jackson‘s pack.
Jackson and Noah belong together as they are mates and even though there’s some rivalry going on, their relationship develops and they have chemistry and know that they are meant for each other. There’s lots of drama and heat and the storyline flowed very well and finished with them with a happily ever after. Hopefully the next story of Colton is even better than this one.

4.5 stars The blurb for this book tells you the basics about everything you need to know to dive right into the book and get swept along to the end. Noah and Jackson have had a connection since they were young teens. Now, more than ten years later, they reconnect at a pack summit, and the connection is still there. As they maneuver around protocols at the summit, their connection is explored and tested to see what it means, how strong it will be, and whether it will be a lasting bond. But a problem wolf from a rival pack keeps stirring things up, threatening their connection and the summit itself. Can Noah and Jackson keep things together to maintain peace at the summit and figure out what this connection means for them and their future, or will all be put in jeopardy. If you enjoy shifter romances, this is a good one with strong characters, rivalry, and fated mates. Low heat encounters, no knotting or mpreg, just a friends to lovers romance set in contentious times.

Noah and Jackson have been friends for year even though they belong to different packs. Since they were kids they have been a trouble making duo. Enter Adrian a bit of an arrogant jealousy bully who occasionally hung around with them at pack summits. Now years later Adrian is his packs leader and who is trying to start a conflict with Jackson’s pack. The summit this time is on Noah’s pack land and trouble is brewing. This story is full of drama, danger, obsession, love and mate bonding, with a definite happy ending.
'This wasn’t just about desire— it was about something deeper. Noah wasn’t just a fleeting attraction or a passing interest. He was someone I’d thought about for years, someone who made me feel seen in a way few others ever had.'
I really enjoyed this book. I loved both Noah and Jackson and the connection they'd once had. The pack dynamics and rivalries kept me on the edge of my seat. Things weren't easy on these two when they were younger, and they still weren't in present time. I like their relationship building and how they bonded and grew closer. 4 stars.
At a past Pack Summit, Noah and Jackson were friends — they were inseparable, the kind of friends who trusted each other with their lives. But Adrian, manipulative and calculating, saw an opportunity. Twisting words and bending truths, Adrian seeded doubt between them, leaving behind broken trust and a silent
Now, the summit returns — and this time, it’s hosted by Noah’s pack.
But there’s a twist: Noah and Jackson have recently discovered they are fated mates.
The bond is real. The attraction is undeniable. But the discord Adrian has left run deep.
Exciting and action packed; I couldn’t put this book down! Noah and Jackson have a connection and chemistry that stood the test of time. They have belonged together since they were young but they have had to fight so many obstacles, pack dynamics, feuding packs, jealous unhinged alphas! Through this all their love remains true! Well written, some steam, a little angst and a great HEA.

However they must deal with pack politics, expectations and a cruel obsessive rival of Jackson. Years don't make thing easier except they grow closer as they complete their bond. The rival is finally dealt with and Jackson moves to Noah's pack.
This is book four of the Pecan pines and was another great addition. This is Noah’s story as he reconnects with his childhood friend Jackson and them realising that they’re fated mates at the regional packs summit meeting and we get a great story watching their relationship develop there are a few bumps along the road but they get their Hea. Looking forward to Colton’s story next.
Am I the only one that thought Noah was acting like a little bitch? I mean, seriously, he was so hot and cold it have me whiplash! This one just didn't do it for me like the others in the series.
This book was weird. The romance in this book was unrealistic, at least for me. Sure, we saw a friendship between two boys, but still something was off with their romance.
