At this point we've spent a lot of time in this specific side-story arc, and although the whole gala/poison story is more interesting than the plants being accepted story, I still find it subpar to most of the story arcs in this series. Usually there are other characters' lives being shown alongside each other, but right now this is the only focus. In a way, each book feels drawn out and with less dialogue, so I am able to read through really quickly.
Overall, 4.0 rating. Not the best arc in the series.
The mystery of the brain-washing perfume deepens as it's revealed that our masked lady is someone from Count Lugiria's past. A complicated tangle to be sure, but even as the clues start coming together, there's a dark turn.
But was anyone else's copy of this volume floppy? Like weirdly bendy? Also, I'll admit that my reading was somewhat tainted because it's been a while.
With this arc, the author has given us some ingredients to want to continue reading. We get to know more about Eisetsu and Kageya. Ryu gets into an ambush and loses his precious book. Drawn clothes are beautiful. For most of the volumes I was tempted to stop reading, but now I can't wait for the next one!
Watched the anime and knew that the story continued in the manga. It's light fluff. I know that the premise requires Shirayuki and Zen to be together but it would have been more interesting to me if along the way they realized that they are better as supportive friends and she ended up with Obi. Also, she just utters "Zen" way too often.
I didn’t really enjoyed that last tome. We barely see the heroine and it’s starting to get difficult to follow who’s who (I read tome 23 months ago, that might not help). I’m not sure I’ll read the next one.
I know this series is just endless side quests until they want to bring the Fab 5 back together and get Zen and Shirayuki married (maybe vol 50? Lol) but I like this story - it is intriguing and actually feels like they’re in a real pickle for the first time in awhile
Summary: Obi and Eisetsu are undercover at a masked ball, but they’re not acting like themselves! Most of the other partygoers also seem a bit off, except for one noblewoman. With her wits still about her, the woman flees from the venue—and Eisetsu follows in pursuit!
Another amazing book in this awesome series! I love the characters that are being introduced and their storyline’s that we learn about. I am still loving watching Ryu grow up and learning about the world.

This one was a bit confusing. Seemed to contradict things from the previous book, and then later in the book contradicted earlier in the book. So it just seemed like someone got lost.
I hope Ryu, Shu, and Yuzumi are all alright!!
