College hockey rivals turned lovers Jackson Reed and Killian Blackwell are about to face their toughest match Christmas with both their families at the Reed mansion.
Between sexual tension to melt the estate's ice sculptures, and a shared future that's anything but certain, this holiday season is bound to be unforgettable.
The only question is whether the mansion-and their families-will survive their particular brand of Christmas spirit.
**This story features the couple from Brutal Titan and is an extension of their story. It is recommended to read Brutal Titan first.**
I'm a romance author who loves Over The Top alpha males who are possessive and completely obsessed with their person or mate. Nothing will get in their way from claiming what's theirs. I enjoy writing darker type romances whether in the contemporary world, PNR worlds, or even post-apocalyptic worlds.
Jackson and Killian have been my top couple in this series so far. I still have Connor’s book to read, but these two are definitely a great match. I liked their book the most.
I just wish we’d gotten more than a Christmas meet-up in this novella. I want to know that they actually end up together a few years down the line, give me the real HEA, not just holiday sex.
Was this really worth publishing? About 50 pages more would be great, thanks. 👍
Corvin King & Anthony Palmini do this couple so well! Truly top tier audio & story telling! I will listen to them together anytime!
A MM christmas short story in the north shore titans series! So freaking excited to get another glimpse of Jackson & Killian! This book was quick, spicy, & so hilarious! Literally cackling out loud listening to the audio! What a perfect Christmas novella for this series!
The return of my most favourite couple of the universe. I simply adore Killian and Jackson. Any crumbs I could get of them in Unhinged Titan I devoured and seeing this I was beyond ecstatic and also mad that I didn’t know of this for TWO MONTHS!!!! Devoured it as soon as I got it and Kill and Jackson are still the same old couple who’re 100% perfect for each other and probably the healthiest couple in the universe 😬♥️
Oh. My. God! This was hilarious and sweet and one of the best holiday short stories I’ve read in a while! It literally had me giggling non stop and I kind of melted into a little puddle of goo. A Merry Brutal Christmas is getting a solid four stars!
This novella is a continuation of Jackson & Killian's story from "Brutal Titan." It is pretty much all smut and very little plot or story. Killian and Jackson are extra kinky, so it's basically a novella giving us a little bit extra of their brand of spicy. Tropes in this spicy little novella include primal play, impact play, possessive MC's, and it's holiday themed!
The story starts off with Killian bringing his family to Jackson's family home to spend Christmas together. First off, how freaking sweet is that! When talk turns to their upcoming hockey seasons on different teams, very far apart from one another, Killian starts to worry about what that will mean for their relationship. Once they get alone after Christmas dinner, they're all over each other. But an unfortunate maneuver causes things to come to a halt when Jackson's computer to wakes up and shows that he's looking into graduate programs. He's unsure about the future and having anxiety about being far away from Killian and having nightmares from being attacked. Killian tells him that he could have come to him, and that he'll always be there for him. Then they get hot and heavy again, and Jackson ensures to mark the hell out of Killian, it's kind of his thing. I had forgotten about that from their book. They partake in some impact play, because Killian has been missing the belt the several weeks they were apart. There's a part in what follows where Jackson goes from eating Killian's ass to kissing him. Now ... they're all up in each others shit, and I'm all about eating ass, but to go from tonguing someone's asshole to sticking said tongue in their mouth really feels unhygienic and kind of gross to me. But to each their own I suppose. After that round, they decide to watch a Christmas movie and get into an argument about which movie to watch. Killian wins and gets to choose. Jackson doesn't get to watch Die Hard and starts to plot his "revenge." He wakes Killian up at 2 am and tells him that he has until morning to find all of his clothes while participating in a role playing scenario based off of Die Hard. They also have an objective to be the first to "eliminate" the other. After a weird back and forth game of chase, Jackson ultimately wins. Then he shtups Killian with a green ice pop up ? I just ... that's nasty. It can't be good to shove that where the sun doesn't shine. But Killian seems weirdly into it. Gross. I'm still making a face about this scene. The reasoning behind why Jackson picks that flavor/color to use is cute though. On Christmas morning, the families get back together again and admit that they ALL heard Killian and Jackson getting it on overnight, and then all purposely eat green freaking ice pops in front of them. I don't care how cool your family is with your proclivities; it is fucking weird for them to have heard you, be okay with that, and then make jokes about a green ice pop having been shoved up you. The story ends in a very sweet display of Jackson and Killian exchanging gifts. Things still haven't been decided about what Jackson will do with his future or how they'll handle being apart, but at least they had a great Christmas banging around the estate and traumatizing their families!

Not going to rate this because it was only 38 pages and idk what to give it. It was just a cute little update on Killian and Jackson. I liked these guys’ book so it was nice to see them again and their dynamic. I wish we would have gotten more info on the future though. This was to tide us over until Zach’s book comes out. Still not super excited for him because he’s such an asshole but I’ll still read it lol.
I didn’t think it was possible to love Jackson and Killian more—and then I read this. I was smiling the whole time like a complete fool. It’s soft, sweet, and the spice? Absolutely perfect. Just what I needed. Again.
I mean I loved it for the short little novella it was. But it hinted at Jackson changing his mind about playing and I guess I just thought there’d be some sort of follow up or resolution to that.
Sometimes a little spice is all you need to get into the holiday spirit, and A Merry Brutal Christmas delivers a perfect stocking stuffer of a novella. This short, sweet, and incredibly steamy story brings back fan-favorite couple Jackson Reed and Killian Blackwell from Brutal Titan, following them as they face their biggest challenge yet: Christmas with both their families. The book is a masterclass in holiday chaos, proving that a little bit of family drama and a whole lot of sexual tension can make for a hilarious and heartwarming holiday. Jackson and Killian are just as possessive, over-the-top, and perfect for each other as they were in their main story. The book's charm comes from its witty banter and a central conflict that is both relatable and laugh-out-loud funny. This novella is a quick and delightful read, offering a glimpse into the domestic bliss (and brutal reality) of a newly-established relationship. It's a low-stakes, high-spice peek into their lives, perfect for fans who wanted more of this beloved couple. The short length keeps the pacing brisk, and the focus on the holiday setting provides a festive backdrop for their signature brand of sweet, possessive, and brutally honest romance. The story hits all the right notes for a holiday romance: a cozy setting, a hilarious cast of characters, and a healthy dose of steam to melt the snow outside. It’s a perfect read to get you in a naughty mood, proving that sometimes, the most romantic gifts don't come wrapped in a box. Best Read When: You need a quick, steamy, and funny holiday read to get you in the spirit.
This is an established couple holiday romance novella, featuring Killian Blackwell and Jackson Reed, and is book four in the North Shore Titans Hockey series.
College hockey rivals-turned-lovers Jackson and Killian spend Christmas with both their families at the Reed mansion. With tension, chaos, and lots of heat, the real question is whether everyone, plus the mansion, will survive the holiday.
This holiday novella is pure chaotic fun with a delicious edge with a mix of family meddling, unresolved tension, and obscene chemistry. The banter is sharp, the heat is off the charts, and the softer moments sneak up on you in the best way. This messy, sexy Christmas story that left me grinning and wanting to reread their book.

"Whatever comes next, whatever I decide, I know one thing for sure--Killian Blackwell is mine. I'm keeping him. Even if I must fight my demons to do it."
"Eight months ago, I would have rather eaten glass than cuddle with Jackson Reed. Now his arms feel like home, his chest's steady rise and fall against my back more soothing than any lullaby."
"The day I knew you'd be important to me. Didn't realize how important until much later."
This was such a good short Christmas novella featuring Jackson and Killian. I'm so happy we got more of this couple. They celebrate Christmas with their families together. They're up to their usual kinky shenanigans. I love how we get a more vulnerable side to both boys and how they open up more to each other. The spice was hot af as always 🔥🔥🥵🥵. Their banter, interactions, and kinkiness are everything. 🎄❄️☃️🎁
The way I love Killian and Jackson needs to be studied. This was short and to the point and we see a new side of them that I’ve missed. I loved that it touches themes that were incomplete in the main book, or just closes the chapter explaining things we wondered. Plus the spice? Never misses. AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON CORVIN AND ANTHONY AS VA’S!!! They were the perfect as Jackson and Killian and this short story was no exception. They just were so amazing they left me wanting more 😭😭😭

I received an ALC of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A Merry Brutal Christmas by E.V. Olsen is a MM Holiday short romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Anthony Palmini and Corvin King. This is the fourth book in the North Shore Titans Hockey series.
I loved Jackson and Killian in Brutal Titans and was so excited when I saw that E.V. did a naughty holiday novella for them and let me tell you she did not disappoint. My only complaint it was over too quickly. I love the chemistry between them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Anthony and Corvin did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you're looking for a MM hockey romance.
Short, spicy, and oh-so-fun! A Merry Brutal Christmas throws us right into the holidays with Killian and Jackson and trust me, it’s not your average Christmas novella.
Their families come together, teasing and blending beautifully, while the guys ache from two weeks apart. That longing makes every reunion moment hotter, and yes… the spice is still scorching. A steamy game of chase and a lime popsicle scene? Unforgettable. 🥵
I loved the mix of heat, humor, and sweetness as their families bonded, plus the hints about their future left me so curious.
The audiobook made it even better Anthony Palmini nails Killian’s softer, vulnerable edge, while Corvin King delivers Jackson with dark, gritty, sexy perfection. Together, they bring the chemistry to life and make you crave more.
Not your average holiday novella this was the perfect blend of spice, family, and festive fun.
