Meddling with Madness

Rate this book
Alyce has never felt like she belonged in her own world. Being attached to a curse that was brought about by the original Alice puts a damper on having a normal life. But she always knew she was different, different because the images that plagued her every night were of Wonderland. They never bothered her like they did her previous family members.

When she finds herself looking into her mirror and falling through it, she realizes that the magic she always felt was real.

Now being surrounded by the men she dreamed about, she isn’t sure how she should proceed. How does she fit into this world she always thought she belonged in?

Is she the chosen one?

You may find it’s fun meddling with madness. Perhaps on the edge of madness. Or maybe completely mad. But the best people are, didn’t you know?

Warning

This is a Why Choose romance. The main female character does not have to choose between her love interests

i received an ARC from the author
3.5⭐️ but rounded up to 4

I really liked this retelling. It was kind of insta-love and there’s 7 guys. But I felt like Mor doesn’t get a ton of recognition. There’s a spot where for like 5 chapters he isn’t even mentioned and the other guys are. At first she has a great connection with him, and then it’s like he isn’t even there. I also wish there were more POVs from the guys. There’s a few, but not many. I love Alyces relationship with Chesh, but I definitely feel like he was favored over the other guys. They all are very different and bring different things to the table so I would have loved more of their insight and definitely more Mor included.
All that being said, Alyce is just like an other 21 year old. She’s clumsy, and rambles, and is emotional. She feels raw and real and I like that about her. I love the relationship the guys have with each other too. There’s some MM scenes and twin sandwich scenes (I love me a good twin sandwich)
Alyce is the heart of their broken and battered group. They love her fiercely and would do anything for her

I loved the retelling of Alice in Wonderland by Ivy, as a new author she did an amazing job. Alyce went on a great adventure where she met all the characters you would expect but with a twist 😉. I loved the Wonderland Ivy built and I am looking forward to more books by this author.

I really enjoyed this retelling, it’s a breath of fresh air after all the dark romance I read! Alyce is a descendant of the original Alice in Wonderland, and her family has been cursed with dreams of Wonderland. Many members of her family have gone mad not believing it’s a real place, but Alyce believes. On her 21st birthday, she falls through the Looking Glass and lands in Wonderland. The original cast of characters is all there, but they are different than in the original. Come follow Alyce as she meets the handsome men of Wonderland and tries to save it from the Red Queen’s rule. I love the relationship development between Alyce and the guys. Cheshire has a place in my heart though, my poor broken Chesh! The Tweedles are warriors, the caterpillar is no longer a caterpillar, but a stunning butterfly, Hatter and Arch are in a relationship together, and don’t forget the white Rabbit. These guys are all a little damaged but oh so sweet. There is MM, some delicious spicy scenes, some action, and more. If you love the original, give this a read. It’s worth it!

I normally go for darker books, but this book was refreshing and inspiring. It was a breath of fresh air, and a great standalone. The world was described delightfully, the characters and their backstory perfectly complimented the female main character, and the plot had purpose and amazing twists.

The story was pleasing, had me grinning throughout, and I binged it so hard. The story enraptured me into this dreamlike world, and the author brought tears to my eyes with several parts of the book- and I don’t cry easily.

This is easily a reread, and I’m totally getting this for my bookshelf!

This book was such a breath of fresh air. Ivy brings you into the story where you feel like you fell through the looking glass with Aly. I was drawn from her first interaction with Chesh. Their connection was instant and made the story just flow. The broken ones are always the sweetest and she sure proved that with the way each one of the men met a need in her and she in them. Whether it was Rook not feeling good enough or Hatter not having the red hair because he was not like other people of his suit. The story flowed so beautifully and I was tryin to put off finishing it because I did not want it to end. I can't wait to see what else this author brings us. She is going to blow you away with this one

Meddling with Madness by Ivy Cole is a superb retelling of Alice in Wonderland. My absolute FAVORITE fairytale is Alice in Wonderland so I always grab a retelling of the story.

Alyce is a descendant of Alice so she is attached to family curse. She never really feels like she belongs in the world she lives in and that there is more out there. Alyce does eventually fall through the mirror and enters Wonderland where she has an entire world to explore and men to meet.

I loved this retelling. It was emotional as you learned of the backstory of Alyce and her RH of men. They struggled to open up to each other due to trauma in the past. It was such an entertaining and exciting twist on the story. Thank you Ivy Cole for writing such an interesting book. I definitely recommend this to everyone!

I give this a 4.5 but rounded it to 5. I absolutely loved the development of the relationships between Alyce and the men. I kinda wish there were more developments shown in the book. Like Morph wasn't mentioned a few times in some chapters and I feel like it could have expanded on the relationship there as well as with Rab. Overall though I loved the plot and the characters each one had their own personalities and backgrounds which I loved. The amount of love they showed to Alyce and some of the things said to her made me melt. I loved that it had a happy ending but felt the ending of the book became a bit rushed and would have loved it even more if it had dragged out a bit more.

A little journey

Awe, this was a very breathtaking and different approach to what we always have read about in wonderland stories..

The approach as we have known it is a RH, and why choose.. These wonderland men are broken from all previous women owners so them opening up to the new Alyce took some time. As That being said Alyce past is just as broken.

We go on this journey of learning to trust, learning each of their flaws, pains, and loves.. All while we go to head to war with the red queen.

This was a really fun Alice and Wonderland retelling. It was also why choose with some MM spice so it was pretty awesome! Your normal main characters were all there but as shifters with human forms. All of her guys had very different personalities and quirks. I listened to the audio and it was very well done. I loved the sound effects used and the narration was great!

Medding with madness

Another amazing Alice in Wonderland retelling. I loved this retelling. I loved how she was a descendant of the original Alice and ruler of Wonderland. Ivy did an amazing job at this book, I love how she referenced her favorite, why choose books, and how Alyce's brother Alix read those books, lol.

So sweet

It's not perfect, but it's so good. I love the ideas and characters. The story has some spots that could delve deeper and felt a bit rushed, maybe, especially toward the beginning. But, it got more developed later on. It's so funny and unique.

A refreshing, wonderful take on Alice in Wonderland. Andventure, action, romance and a bit of spice, all told by Ivy Cole whose vivid imagination beautifully illustrates every detail. You feel like you fell through the Looking Glass along with Aly!

I love Alice and wonderland. Throw a lot of romance and potential partners…yes please. Some of the love interests I’d never thought of as a love interest till this and I’m totally ok with it now.
