I thought surviving Sterling Falls was the worst of it.
I was wrong.

Saint doesn’t remember the last two years—doesn’t remember the war we fought, the people we lost, or the way we burned for each other. To him, I’m a stranger. To me, he’s the man I can’t let go of, even if it feels like starting over with a ghost.

Reese shows up on the island, raw with regret and determined to prove he’s changed.
Kade follows, carrying secrets I’m not sure I want to uncover.

We’re trapped together in a place meant to heal but built to break us. And beyond the waves of Isle of Paradise, Ouranos is tightening his grip on Sterling Falls, tearing the city I love apart piece by piece.

If we can’t put our past betrayals aside and fight as one, we’ll lose more than the town we swore to protect.
We’ll lose each other.

And this time, there won’t be a second chance.

Buckle up for the conclusion of the Sterling Falls Rogues series. We pick up a short time after the end of book two. Tem is still on Island of Paradise and Saint is now with her, after losing the last two years of his memories. Tem’s brother and his family have made it back to Sterling Falls and now it’s time for her to return home. Ouranos and Gabriel have removed everyone off the board leaving them with no contacts or intel. Tem, Reese, Saint, and Kade work together to take back the city, first with reclaiming her bar, Bow & Arrow, then taking out the Cyclopses. Gabriel is a loose cannon but ends up helping…to a point. I thought that after the first two books, this was a little anticlimatic and felt that Ouranos went down a little too easily. The flow towards the end felt choppy and rushed. I just wanted a little more for the final book. Overall, I loved the series and will miss Sterling Falls.

🚩Be sure to read the author’s note and content warnings before reading.

This was my first official ARC as part of S. Massery’s team, and I genuinely feel bad that I didn’t enjoy it more. I went in so excited and really wanted to love it, but it just didn’t land for me the way I hoped.
“Everything about her screams warrior. But she’s not, is she? She’s a martyr for this city. She’d rather d!e for it than see it ruined.”
Please note: This is Book 3 in the series and cannot be read as a standalone. There will be spoilers for the first two books. If that bothers you, go enjoy those first before continuing onward.

𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨:
The story picks up right where Book 2 ends. Tem is on the Island of Paradise, battling her heroin addiction, and Saint has also arrived at the facility to deal with his amnesia. Meanwhile, Tem’s brother and his harem are back in Sterling Falls, working to reclaim the city after Ouranos, Gabriel, and the Cyclopes have taken over.

𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨:
The sad thing is… this book (and honestly, the series as a whole) had so much potential. But in the end, it just fell flat and needed a bit more development and tightening from an editorial perspective. It felt messy, disjointed, and a little too late in its delivery.

One of the biggest issues was the boys and their relationships. Apart from Gabriel, I struggled to tell their voices apart... even in their own POVs. They felt too interchangeable and lacked the unique traits that make a character stand out. AND GABRIEL is only unique because he's bloody crazy!

Saint was the only boy who seemed to have a real emotional connection with Tem. Kade’s presence didn’t add much to the dynamic, and Reese… well, it felt like Tem bonded with him purely through shared trauma rather than genuine chemistry. His sudden attachment to the girl he wanted to save also felt forced as we barely saw them interact on the page or got more than a line about why she was so special.

Gabriel and Lyssa, on the other hand, had a far more compelling love story than the supposed main romance. Honestly, in an alternative reality, I wish Lyssa’s role had been reduced so the story could have explored Gabriel and Tem’s possible romance instead.

Another big issue was how so much of the action happened off-page. The planning, the strategy, the buildup... we were told about it after the fact instead of being in it with the characters. It made the story feel distant and flat. It often felt like S. Massery wanted to hold everything back for the sake of mystery, but that stretched too far. I was confused more often than not, trying to piece together what was happening and why.

𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙨 and 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤 𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙨:
▶ Reverse Harem - MMFM
▶ Tending to Injuries
▶ Spicy/Steamy Water Scene
▶ Organised Crime
▶ Found Family and Ride or Die Friends
▶ Touch Her You Die
▶ Secrets and Lies
▶ Dark Romance
▶ Get's a Tattoo for Her
▶"Look at Me"

This wasn’t a bad book or series... it just wasn’t satisfying in the way I know S. Massery’s writing can be. I expected more depth in the characters, stronger romantic connections, and a finale that delivered true payoff. Instead, it felt rushed, messy, and ultimately left me disappointed.

Thank you so much to S. Massery for the gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What began very precariously evolved into a full-blown war. With Ouranos closing in and an unexpected alliance, Martyr began with non-stop action.

I wish we could have had more time devoted to the developing relationship between Tem and the guys, as well as between Kade and Saint. Still happy with everything resolved and the HEA.

Artemis & her men continue the story, which feels like a mini-action movie! Grab the popcorn for the finale.
Watching them deepen their relationship at this point was such a great addition to the story.
This is the last book in the trilogy, and S. Massery really threw everything into this ending. The twists, violence, and emotional, heart-wrenching moments were tough on the heart.
And it’s fast-paced, so don’t worry about getting bored!

Emotional ending!
Wow there's a lot to unpack in this one, I whizzed through this last book in one day I was so gripped and eager to find out whether Tem’s guys could pull themselves together enough to pull off the coup of all coups! 😆
It starts with Saint and Artemis on Paradise island with Saint’s amnesia causing severe animosity and ahole ways, whilst Tem has found what could be the answer to their prayers in controlling Graves’ lapdogs...Kade has become a liability but they may be able to sway him to the ‘good’ side; and Reece is doing all he can to keep Sterling Falls together in the leaders absent whilst also keeping Tem holding on when it seems all is lost! There’s a LOT of drama and heightened emotions in the book so prepare yourself - thankfully things take a turn that not only brings this group altogether but enables them to control the board 😅 didn’t see the way the villain was ended coming so that was a good to be shocked and glad that got a nice wrap up alongside Tems HEA 🥰 a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy!

I think I finished this trilogy in two days flat 🙈 That’s how hooked I was!

I went in completely blind because I trust Sara’s writing that much—and she didn’t disappoint. Artemis and her men got the finale they truly deserved. Their journey was emotional, addictive, and the character growth for each of them made the whole thing even more satisfying.

That being said… I have to admit, I love Saint way more than the others (no regrets 😂). And with the spice layered on top of everything else, this was honestly the perfect package.

Now I’m just over here impatiently waiting for more eBooks from her—because clearly I’ll devour them just as fast!

Explosive Conclusion 💥

I guess all good things must come to an end! 😭

The tension and the trauma I went through with this series, S. Massery really knows how to get a gal all worked up. 🤣

I pretty much loved everything about this book, especially how everything was wrapped up with a neat little bow. 🎀

I was so happy to see the character development for Gabriel and was especially pleased with Saint and Kade, my only gripe is that I think that bit needed more airtime...👀

Although I am sad to say goodbye to Sterling Falls I can't wait to see what comes next.

As always, check TWs

I DEVOURED each book in this series, and each time I was emotionally wrecked at least once. But the hurt was SO GOOD. Sara had me emotionally invested in the well-being of each character (yes, even Gabriel to some degree) and if that isn't a testament to how great her writing and stories are - I don't know what is!

The storyline brought Tem and Co back to Terror, where it all began, and without spoiling anything - I am so glad she (and honestly the whole group, basically) were able to face the demons they've carried that were in one way or another brought on by Terror.

The ending - TEARS. So many happy tears. Obviously Tem has had her brother this whole time, but this new family that she has gained is all HERS and it was just the sweetest ending that she so deserved to get. And that kitchen island?! GIRL YES HAHAHHA - it's for "entertaining" alright!! I am happiest of all to see that Tem got all that she deserved and then some - she has gone through SO much bad and experienced so much hurt, and yet she remained strong and still put everyone else first and made sure everyone (and the whole dang city) was okay. I was happy to see that the guys all noticed + acknowledged this, too.

Am I sad this series is over? Yes. Could I stay in Sterling Falls with Tem and Saint forever? Also, yes. Do I feel like they got their HEA and things were wrapped up nicely all around? 100%.

This was the conclusion to the Sterling Falls Rogues, it follows Artemis and her men, Saint, Reese & Kade.
I love everyone of Sara's books and this was no exception. Truthfully it didn't hit the same as a lot of her other books. I wasn't obsessed with it, like I usually get with one her books. I also really didn't feel connected to any of the characters. I loved Artemis and wanted her to win at anything in her life but as far as love interests, meh. I didn't feel the passion, no one blew me away. But i'll clarify that I still loved the book and the series. This one just felt different.
Super pumped to have received an eArc, thank you!

Martyr is the third and final book in the Sterling Falls Rogues series featuring Artemis Madden, Saint Hart, Kade Laurent & Reese Avery. Books 1 and 2 must be read in order to read this one !

Saint & Artemis are on the isle of paradise as patients at the facility. Artemis is there because of her addition and saint because of what happened to him and that fact that he has amnesia.

Because Saint has forgotten the last year of events, he and Artemis are back to bickering all the time and Saint hating her for breaking the news of Nyx all over again. Artemis is upset that he doesn’t remember, but keeps trying to stay in his orbit.

Back in Sterling Falls things have really heated up and with Kade trying to find Saint and Artemis, Reese must continue to run interference to keep them safe. Artemis has also made discoveries on the island that could help them in the long run.

The return of Artemis‘s brother and his family is a key turning point to bring the end of the Cyclopes reign of terror on Sterling Falls. But the leader of the Cyclopes won’t go down without a fight. Can Artemis and the gang convince Gabriel to work with them and help win back Sterling Falls?

I’m true Sara fashion this series kept me on the edge of my seat and had me confused the whole time on who the good guys were and who the bad guys were. However the ending did not disappoint me and I grew to love Artemis and her guys so much!

You will definitely need to read all three books in the series in order for it to make sense and I really hope that you enjoy it if you do!

Thank you Sara for the ARC!

“A woman. She weaves me the most wondrous, hideous tale of love and heartache.”

This series! This book! Wow, I went into the series blind and binged all 3 books in five days. It was nothing like I expected and everything I needed. It was dark, mysterious, suspenseful with a beautiful dynamic of Artemis and the people around her.
Martyr is the finale for the series. We left off on that devastating cliffhanger from Nemesis and jump into what feels like Déjà vu of where Artemis and Saints story began in Warrior. Artemis is recovering, struggling with the relationships around her and Sterling falls is in the hands of a madman. Tem has to save her city, save herself, and with the help of the men around her they go to hell and back to make it happen. I loved reading this story, I haven’t read the previous sterling falls series and will be going back to do so but I don’t feel I lost anything from the story without having that knowledge. Definitely recommend this one!! I listened to the first two books on audio and the narrators crushed it and can’t wait to hear this one.

The finale to the Sterling Falls Rogues series was face paced and action backed! I also think Reese likes blowing shit up and little too often hahahaha
While this one is a why choose I was left a little disappointed that there wasn’t a group scene. We get tease with what could be one but alas they just sleep! Such a tease! lol
Have the popcorn ready because it’s about to go down hard!

The conclusion to The Sterling Falls Trilogy and it is top! We were left on such a cliffhanger with book 2 - just when everything was coming together?.. bam! It's all blown to smithereens!

This is where it finally completes. There's a lot of mental pain in this book, trying to overcome heartache while surviving the real world that is literally being blown up and then putting trust in people that you probably shouldn't! Danger is coming at them from all sides and I just wanted to help them!

It's good, it's action packed, it's emotional and the angst is just right.

This is the third and final book in this impressive trilogy.
Artemis, Reese, Saint, and Kade’s journey continues. There is so much happening in this story, and this talented author has dome an amazing job in weaving this storyline.
This is a well written action packed, easy to read story, with friendships, emotions, regrets, betrayal, survival, humour, witty banter, determination, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable, dark romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is so bittersweet.

On one hand I am beyond thrilled for Saint to get his HEA. But on the other, I’m sad it’s over. I have loved every second of Sterling Falls and I wish we could have stayed a little longer.

Martyr had me feeling all kinds of ways. I was angry and elated, I was heart broken and mended. The end of the series brought us closure with Gabriel (why was he low-key my favorite?!) and Ouranos (guess he didn’t need that hand anyways 😅). Artemis and Saint finally had their moment, and the nice little shower scene with him and Kade was just 🥵

I have the immense fortune of meeting Sara and getting to chat about this book/series prior to release. While I understand why the series was cut down, I wish that we had gotten the fourth book, if for nothing else than a group scene 😏. Maybe we’ll get a short story somewhere in the future ? 🤞🏻All in all I appreciate the tidy bow that we’ve had placed on the series, but I’m hoping it’s not the end of SF.

I’ve said it before, Sara can write about dust on the wind and I’d be sat. I am completely obsessed with the way that she weaves a story and I’m excited for what she’s gonna give us next. 💜

I want her eyes. I want her focus. I want her scowling, smiling, insulting...

That was refreshing! I love a high smut read, but I crave a good plot-filled story with lots of action more. Inserting scenes just to have them would have detracted from the feel of the story.

While they aren't abundant, you can still expect some spicy scenes, some MM bi-awakening, and group sexy time.

Was I sad the series became a trilogy? No. I think it was the right choice. The pacing was fast throughout. No more killer cliffhangers to contend with. The bad guys were vanquished. Everyone who survived got their HEA.

Thanks to Chaotic Creatives and S. Massery for the advance copy.

🤩 Did I love it? Thoughts? 🤩

This book was perfect! I loved every second of it. This made me stress the way only a good book that makes me love the characters so much does. All the different relationships, Artemis and Saint, Saint and Kade, Artemis and Reese, Kade and Artemis. It was hard for me to see how this could end in a way where I hoped it would. Since I felt for Gabe and wanted him to get redemption. I was so happy with the end though, it was brilliant. I loved the way she gave us the backstory for why they were the way they are. I also understand why she decided to just split this book into parts instead of two separate books. Not that I would complain if there was more. I was so sad for this book to end. It was addicting. I finished this whole series in 4 days. I couldn’t put it down. I loved Artemis so much she was so strong, a true Warrior. She had gone through so much and this series put her through even more, but she came out the end I think stronger for it. Her ability to forgive, I think, is something I admire. The fact that she was able to accept and forgive people from her past like Reese and see that he wasn’t acting on his own wants and even Gabriel. He hurt her, tortured her even, but she never truly wanted to hurt him. She knew he was lost and broke himself and she tried to help him. To her own detriment sometimes. Then we had Reese who was trying to atone for his past and prove he is a better man than he was, a stronger man who will fight for what is right and what who he cares for. Saint is trying to figure out what is happening and what happened the last few years. He is back to trying to accept the death of his first love and accept these flashes and feelings he has for both Artemis and Kade. Kade is trying to find a balance, he is torn between his brain and his heart. He wants to be a good guy. He just needs a little push. The twists and turns and trying to see how they could get their happy ending. Even with the heaviness of this book and its topics it had its humor and I loved their banter. The chemistry between Kade and Saint and Artemis( I selfishly wish we got to see that scene Kade was envisioning haha) and Artemis and Reese was delicious. The found family in this book was touching. I just had such a wonderful time reading and getting to know these characters and am sad it’s over.

🩵 Would I recommend this Book? 🩵

Yes. I truly loved this book. It was the perfect end and completion of this series. If you are a fan of why choose, enemies to lovers, morally grey characters this book and series is for you. You do need to read all three in order to understand the continuing plot of this book. So Nemesis, then Warrior and finally this one Martyr. You won’t regret picking up this whole series. It was so good and addicting.

Go. Buy. Now.
Enjoy reading! 🤩

Don’t go thinking we aren’t inevitable, babe.” Her eyelashes flutter, and her dark-brown eyes bore into mine. “Even with all the guilt trying to crush you from the inside out.”

Phew, what a ride! This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, binge reading it well into the night. S Massery sure knows how to hook readers and this series had me in chokehold.

After the jaw dropping cliffhanger in book two, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. I was especially excited to hear that this will also be the conclusion and instead of a 4 book series will now be a trilogy. Having finished it, I have mixed feelings about it not having the fourth book.

Artemis continued to prove in this book why she's one of my favorite S Massery FMCs. And Reese, Saint, and Kade were each amazing in their own right. The story was an absolute powerhouse with so many moving pieces, which I will also say I appreciate a whole lot more having read the Sterling Falls series.

And while I loved the story, I also couldn't help but feel like it left me wanting more. The conclusion, though fitting, also felt a bit anticlimactic. I supposed with the villain being as big as he was, it just felt something was missing still. I fully appreciate the full circle moment of it all, but it still just felt sudden and quick. My other quibble is that I wish we spent more time on the poly element of the relationship between Tem and her men. While it felt natural, it also felt very sudden and slightly rushed, particularly the Kade and Saint part. I wanted more time with them, I wanted to feel the feelings and the chemistry. We got a great story, but I suppose I just wanted more on the relationship development. I would love to see a bonus epilogue and spend more time with these characters. I can understand why S Massery didn't do a 4th book, but I also felt like this one could have been a touch longer.

Did I still enjoy it? Absolutely. It's a series that I cannot recommend enough and if you love dark why choose, it's a must read. I'd also be lying if I didn't share that I was greedy for just a little bit more.

But maybe S Massery will take pity on us and give us a bonus epilogue in the future.

Martyr concludes S. Massery’s Sterling Falls Rogues Series. While I’m relieved there are no more cliffhangers, this finale felt less satisfying than the earlier books. The pacing felt rushed, especially in resolving the antagonist and some romances. Still, Martyr delivers an action-packed conclusion, and I’m glad Artemis, Saint, Reese, and Kade get their happy ending, especially after all Artemis endured.

What I enjoyed:

- Artemis overcame addiction and returned fiercer than ever. I liked how she handled certain characters, especially Saint. She’s an FMC I’ll remember.
- I enjoyed Reese and Artemis together, even though how they met was dark and emotional. Reese was always protective, and their chemistry grew, making them a great couple.
- Saint may have gone back to old ways with Artemis at the beginning of this book, but once he gains back what he lost, he comes back to the Saint I adored in the second book. He truly changed his ways since book one.
- I appreciated that lingering questions were answered, such as Gabriel, who also had a POV. He wasn’t a romantic interest, but he’s part of the story explained things. He did care for one person in the book, and readers will find out more about that person in this book.

Things that bothered me:

- The story felt rushed, especially with the antagonist. Once their motives are revealed, I felt their demise felt rushed and too mild for me. I was also surprised by who actually took care of the antagonist.
- The poly romance between the characters didn’t fully convince me. While there were scenes exploring these relationships, some of them felt rushed and lacked genuineness, especially between Kade and Saint. Unlike Reese and Artemis, whose connection was clear and well-developed, I didn’t feel a strong bond between Kade and Saint, which made their dynamic less believable for me. I needed more of these two together, especially once Saint gets his memories back. Then there was the whole group as a poly romance, but I’ll go into that reason in the next bullet, which actually made it not believable to me.
- Regarding Kade, I struggled to trust him for much of the book. Although he eventually proved himself, it was hard to overlook some of his earlier actions, which I found hurtful and difficult to forgive. This affected how invested I felt in the romantic relationships involving Kade.

Despite some disappointments, I still enjoyed reading this book. Part of me wished there was a fourth book, but remembering the intensity of previous cliffhangers, I appreciated the closure this ending provided.

Overall, I rate Martyr 3.5 stars. It didn’t fully meet my expectations for a series finale, but I’ll still recommend this trilogy.

Single/Dual/Multi POV: Multi POV.

Would I recommend this trilogy? Yes. I recommend it to dark romance fans and readers of S. Massery’s other books. This trilogy covers heavy, triggering topics, so check TW first.

What a finale! I will say I understand why she made the last two books one. The split in parts made a lot of sense and I think if they would have been their own books, it may have been overkill. So we start off where we left off - on Isle of Paradise - BUT with a surprising POV. I won't spoil it. But I will say in this book we have two new POVs and I think both additions were perfect. Sara mentioned on Facebook that she loves Gabriel, that dude gets some love in this book. I agree, my opinion on him changes. Is he still an absolute nutcase? Absolutely. Do I feel bad for him? Yes. Do I understand his perspective a bit more? Most definitely.

We finally get a fully formed Harem. This one ends up being a MFMM relationship. I'll leave you hanging on who goes for whom. I really have to wonder if harem's are just an aspect of being a Madden twin though. What are the odds that both twins end up in their own polyamorous relationship? Maybe there's just something in the water of Sterling Falls, who knows? Speaking of the other poly relationship, we finally get our fearsome foursome back to help Artemis and her harem work to save the day.

ghosts

I wish we would have gotten a bit more in the spice department *cough* in the group setting *cough*, that is. There were multiple spicy scenes, but they seemed to be 1-on-1 situations for the most part. I do think this group has some growing to do. We find out that the Martyr in the book title is actually Artemis. I mean it makes sense. The series was originally named for her. She's a martyr in this relationship. She's a martyr for this town. She's constantly sacrificing herself - for those from Terror, for Saint.
I let myself feel everything I can for this man before fate decides to steal it away again.

If that quote doesn't scream Artemis's struggle, then I don't know what does. She's been struggling her entire life. Hell she gets free from the hell from the Sterling Falls storyline - only to be kidnapped and forced into a Heroin addiction in this story - all while no one else notices.

So would I recommend it? Yep! Read this book. Read this series. Heck - go out and read all of S. Massery's work. I love this author and am so happy I got to be a part of her ARC team.

Initially this series was supposed to be 4 books instead of 3 and I feel like it should still have been. This story felt hurried, especially with the relationships between the characters, and the conclusion. This book picks up right where book 2 left off, however, there was a lot that happened in book 2 and honestly book 1 as well. And with the way it ended there absolutely needed to be enough time to iron out and fix what was broken in book 2, and that just didn’t happen.

I would have liked to see the buildup of the relationships more as well. You had book 1 which was pretty much all Saint and Artemis, which makes sense considering their backstory, yes Reese and Kade are there, but you don’t see them as anything more than antagonists. And book 2 brought in Reese and Artemis more and explained their connection better and Kades connection with Reese. But Kade was still a mystery overall, especially after what happened.

And then the cliffhanger left us with so many questions and zero answers. And honestly there is some emotional damage. I really wanted to see the relationships nurtured and develop into more solid connections. Especially Saint and Kade, there was so much potential there and it kind of fell flat. And the relationship between Kade and Artemis could have used more time to grow and reinforce their bond aside from them just finding each other attractive.

There were so many elements throughout this series that really needed to be fleshed out. The multitude of plot points and characters with their own agenda left a lot to be explained. Yes, we got some answers, but those answers were kind of lackluster, when there could have been so much more detail regarding the resolutions.

I said this in my review of book 1 and 2 yes, technically this could be read as a standalone, but I wouldn’t recommend it as there is a whole side story that happened to bring forth the dynamics in this series. And without reading that one you miss out on all those details. All in all, even though adding another book would have made the series longer, I feel with all the plot lines overlapping it needed to happen to give the story and the characters the proper amount of time to flesh out the remaining issues and bring about a truly great ending.

After everything Artemis and the Rogues endured in Nemesis and Warrior, I wasn’t sure how S. Massery would possibly top the chaos—but Martyr delivers in every way that matters.

What a wild, emotional ride Martyr turned out to be—a chaotic finale to a series that’s had me hooked since book one. S. Massery closes out the Sterling Falls Rogues trilogy with all the intensity, grit, and emotional punch I was hoping for.

Artemis has been through hell (and occasionally dragged the boys right through it with her), but seeing her finally step into her power while surrounded by the people who’ve become her found family was incredibly satisfying. Saint’s memory loss adds a layer of ache and tension that hits hard, and watching him, Kade, and Reese circle each other through loyalty, love, and regret made for some of my favorite moments in the entire series. There’s snark, tenderness, heartbreak, and enough chaos to keep your pulse racing—but also moments of surprising softness that made me grin like an idiot.

The action is fast and brutal, the stakes sky-high, and while the pacing felt a touch rushed toward the end, the emotional payoff more than made up for it. The dynamic between all four of them, especially the slow-burn tension, bi-awakening moments, and fierce protectiveness, was written with the kind of care that keeps you glued to the page.

As for the spice? I’d call it a solid 2.5🌶️—balanced and emotional, but not the focus. My only real gripe? The lack of a group scene. For a why-choose romance, it felt like something was missing without one. Still, the scenes we do get are meaningful and grounded in connection rather than pure heat (though there’s definitely enough to get your heart rate up).

This finale gave me everything I wanted: closure, chaos, redemption, and a beautiful found family that made my heart feel full. Sterling Falls may be dark and deadly, but the bonds formed there are pure light.

🖤 If you love your romance with grit, emotion, and characters who earn their HEA the hard way, Martyr sticks the landing.

Oh my god this book. I swear I was stressed the entire time in the absolute best way because I love these characters so much and didn’t know how it was all going to end. Saint being back, trying to figure out what happened the last two years, being with Artemis again like before everything fell apart—it broke me and healed me all at once. Then Reese shows up and he’s actually trying this time, trying to be better, and I didn’t expect to love his redemption as much as I did. And then Kade?? Like of course, throw him in too, just to make my heart hurt even more.

The island scenes had me clinging to every page. All the different relationships—Artemis with Saint, Artemis with Reese, Artemis with Kade, even Saint and Kade—the tension was insane. I honestly couldn’t see how it would end in a way that made me happy, but somehow it did. That ending was so brilliant, I just sat there after finishing, like, wow.

Artemis is everything. She’s been through so much but she’s still strong and she keeps fighting. I love her ability to forgive—it made me respect her even more. The way she could see Reese wasn’t acting for himself before, and even Gabriel… she didn’t excuse what he did but she still understood his pain. That part wrecked me. Reese fighting to prove he’s not that guy anymore, Saint struggling with his grief and his feelings for both Artemis and Kade, and Kade trying to balance what his heart wanted with who he wanted to be—it was all so emotional and so good.

I honestly couldn’t put this series down, I read the whole thing in 4 days. I didn’t want it to end. Martyr was everything—angsty, heartbreaking, healing, and addictive. I love these characters so much, I’m still thinking about them.

💜Why Choose
🌸 Dark Romance
💜 Hate to Love
🌸 Gothic
💜 Romantic Suspense
🌸 Forced Proximity
💜 Found Family
🌸 Dual POV

The third and final installment of Sterling Falls Rouges, "Martyr" was all I expected it to be and I wasnt ready for it to be over. First and foremost, thank you S. Massery for the opportunity of the ARC. Its been a DREAM of mine since reading your books to get in the in crowd for chances like this.

I went into this book eyes wide open because I knew how much of a wild ride it was going to be because the planning needed for the storyline to pull off what was needed to get to the happy ending for all. From the first chapter to the last pages, you will sit at the edge of your seat squealing of whats next for Artemis(strong FMC, warrior) and her men(Saint, Kade and Reese). Sara wrote the perfect endings and closed the open questions her reader's had for her in this series and thats what I loved about the entire series. The journey was alot for readers who naturally do not read Sara's work but for he lifelong fans: we got ehat we wanted all along with this series.

I've read series where character growth; plot builds were slow to gradually be some of my favorite series to emotional and addictive to what comes next. Sara NAILED it with this book being the last of the series because i finished it under two days and then took a few days to get my review together. I gotta say for all the male character's in this why choose, I will always be a Saint girl in the SFR series because i saw him for what he was from the beginning into end and I loved every peice written of him in this why choose series. Prepare for deaths of characters; high intensify damage to be done and on the edge of your seat action. There is not a cliffhangers so "Martyr" rounds this series out by S.Massery perfectly.

🌼🌸Phew, what a ride! This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very first page, binge-reading late into the night. S. Massery truly knows how to hook readers, and this trilogy had me in a complete chokehold. After that jaw-dropping cliffhanger in book two, I couldn’t wait to dive back in—and wow, did this finale deliver.🌸🌼

🌼⚖️Artemis once again proved why she’s one of my favorite Massery heroines. Strong, resilient, and complex, she carries the weight of this story beautifully. And then there’s Reese, Saint, and Kade—each incredible in their own right, each bringing something raw and powerful to Artemis’s journey. The layered storytelling, with all its moving pieces, felt even richer after having read the Sterling Falls series.⚖️🌼

🌸☀️Saint will forever hold the title of my favorite. My broken boy—misunderstood, grieving, and struggling to express his care—made this book feel deeply healing. Reese, steady and unwavering, was the rock Artemis needed when she couldn’t hold herself together. Kade stepped up in a way that truly proved his worth.☀️ 🌸

🖤Gabriel… ahhh. I don’t even know where to start without spoiling too much. He is morally pitch black and yes, he’s done some seriously messed up things (just like Kade in his own way). But the difference with Gabriel is that he’s always brutally honest about his intentions. No masks, no sugarcoating, just raw truth—even when it hurt. And maybe that’s why, despite everything, I’ll always have a soft spot for him. He’s complicated, he’s chaotic, and somehow he still managed to steal a piece of my heart.🖤

🌼⚖️🌸This finale shattered me and then pieced me back together. It was emotional, messy, beautiful, and unforgettable. Saying goodbye to these characters feels impossible, but this series will always hold a special place in my heart.🌸⚖️🌼

🔥 Martyr by S. Massery 🔥
📚 Sterling Fall Rogues #3

HOLY HELL. 😭🔥 What an unforgettable finale!! Martyr absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible and cemented the Sterling Fall Rogues as one of my favorite why-choose dark romance series EVER.

✨ What you’re getting:
⚔️ Revenge, betrayal & redemption
🖤 Enemies to lovers
🔥 Why choose / mmfm polycule (👀 the dynamics, y’all!!)
🏝 Forced proximity on Paradise Island
⚔️ Greek mythology parallels
🖤 Dark themes, gangs, morally grey chaos
🔥 Passion + angst + heartbreak + HEA

From the first page, my chest was tight with emotions. Saint’s amnesia broke me, Reese’s regret hit HARD, Kade’s secrets had me on edge, and Artemis… my girl carried this series with so much fire. And then Gabriel’s sharp wit? Inject it straight into my veins.

The tension, the chemistry, the twists are off the charts. I lost count of how many times I whispered “oh my god WHAT is happening?!” 😱 and I loved every second. That epilogue?? Building the house together?? PRECIOUS. 🏡❤️

Was it fast-paced? Yes. Did I want even more time exploring Saint + Kade? Also yes. But did I finish the last page both wrecked and full of love for this messy, perfect polycule? 100%. 🖤

S. Massery gave us betrayal, chaos, and blood… but also loyalty, healing, and one hell of a HEA. These characters will live rent-free in my head forever.

⭐️ Artemis x Saint x Reese x Kade = the definition of morally grey soulmates

An emotional & exhilarating finale

Artemis, Saint, Reese, and Kade are back for the epic conclusion to S. Massery's Sterling Falls Rogues trilogy, MARTYR. It was an emotional and exhilarating read with numerous twists and turns making it difficult to put down. Yet again, Ms. Massery builds the tension and suspense with finesse while ensuring romance and emotions spear through your heart. MARTYR was beautiful yet volatile, dark yet humourous, and definitely engaging.

Picking up from where Warrior concluded. Saint still has amnesia and is now feeling guilty about his feelings for Tem. Tem is still a fighter, a fierce woman who loves deeply. Reese is still the peacemaker (well that's how I see him), and Kade is the troublemaker, the one who needs to earn trust, the one who loves both Tem and Saint. The journey of this quartet is filled with chemistry, heat, danger, revelations, and understanding. They are fighting to gain back what was taken from them ... their city and their lives.

From beginning to end MARTYR was spellbinding, a mesmerising ride which drew me in and wouldn't let me go. It kept me on the edge of my seat with my heart often in my mouth and constantly pounding. After all the action and excitement Ms. Massery delivered the perfect ending, talk about sigh inducing.

This trilogy was brilliant, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I can't wait to see what Ms. Massery comes up with next.
