These exceptional stories about people, places and irreverent events will make you laugh and cry. They are both fantastic and true-to-life. Humorous, raw and interspersed with Nyoongar language and imagery, you will love the warmth, frailty and strength of the many wonderful characters like Uncle Jacko, the wool pickers Barney and Bill, Brickwall Jackson, Uncle Dollar and Aunti Flo to name just a few.
Interesting collection of short stories. It is mildly confusing as some of the characters appear in multiple stories, but the intention is that the are all linked in some way. It's fairly true to life and quite brutal at times, which I was not entirely prepared for. It was an interesting look in to stories of Indigenous people both living present and the past.
Moorditj Nyoongar stories. Transported me during this lock-down time.
I was very lucky to be able to access a copy of this book, as I believe it is now out of publishing. I look forward to reading Alf's memoir when it is released later on this year.
