I have been in a reading slump for a month now and then I picked this book.. in the start the first 100 pages it was cliche and I thought it as a story which is too normal and there will be nothing to remember when I finish this book so I read it after a day and I will give it 3.4..
The story was cute and it seemed a lot real and little bit emotional too..It was not cliche like other books which are copied straight out of Indian TV serials.
The book has some really good details like the gifts they gave each other.. i think the book could have been little better in the first 100 pages as it saw going nowhere and seemed boring to continue..

“What if I’m never good enough for you?”

“Pratham, you don’t have to be perfect. You just need to be you. And I’ll be there, no matter what."

Hearts in Transit is a beautifully written exploration of love, relationships, and finding yourself.

The main leads, Pratham and Pratigya, had a captivating story. Their relationship was raw, messy, and beautiful. I appreciated how their story was imperfect and real. The fact that they navigated a long-distance relationship added an extra layer of complexity to their story. I also loved how the author wove in the vibrant city of Mumbai as a backdrop to their romance. The city's energy and charm were vividly brought to life throughout the book.

Overall, it is a soft, realistic desi romance that beautifully explores themes of trust, communication, and the complexities of love.

This book left an unforgettable mark on me. It’s the kind of story that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page. The emotions are raw, real, and so deeply woven into the characters’ lives that I literally cried while reading it. It’s not just about love; it’s about dreams, self-discovery, and the harsh realities that come with chasing both.

The characters felt incredibly genuine. Their struggles, flaws, and personal growth made them relatable. Watching them navigate the fast-paced life, balancing ambitions with emotions, was heart-wrenching yet beautiful. The connection between the protagonists was intense—not just romantic, but layered with friendship, vulnerability, and unspoken emotions.

What touched me the most was how real their pain and joy felt. It’s rare to find a book that makes you feel every emotion so deeply. This isn’t just a story; it’s an experience, a journey through heartbreak, hope, and healing. A never-forgettable, remarkable read that I’ll carry in my heart forever.

Hearts in transit by Ruchi Prabhu is an everyday love story, a very relatable one at that. Life made us experience a lot- the same way Pratigya and Pratham meet each other fell in love , crossed the bitter paths of long distance relationship , hurt , heartbreak, self growth and more.

The characters were deeply set in Mumbai the most beautiful city. The two lovers cross paths one day and all challenges rise. These characters had to go through self discovery, their difference of opinion and a whole lot of emotional turbulence.

Did they embrace their difficulties and led on a successful life or chose to take different paths poise the rest of the story. To know more just read the book.

Hearts in Transit became my first read of 2025. And it was absolute dreamy. Jumpy scenes with abrupt and erratic transitions.

Yeah, it was as if reading about someone's dream. Might as well have been a teen's confession about love, turned into a book.

The story felt fuzzy. Fuzzy and inconsistent.

Someone creating corporate presentations wrote the book, maybe. With the words "professional" and "professionalism" after every few paragraphs.

I stopped reading at about 37%.

PS... The word "something" was in almost every page... Stirred something. Realised something. Meant something. The Kindle shows it appeared 309 times, in a book of 252 pages.

Tropes 💕:

📌 Friends to lovers 💓

📌 Cold Male lead 🌡️

📌 Love at first sight 😍

📌 Opposite age gap ( girl is older)

📌 Girl fell harder 🥹

The author's @ruchiprbhu heart in transit is the book that revolves around the lives of two beautiful people who are in their late twenties and are center of each other's universe .

Pratham a young talented guy who wants to be the person on whom his family can rely on and like a normal Male of middle class family he wants to be the only bread earner for his family and want to provide them the best he can . In this process he goes to Mumbai leaving his hometown for the job. There he meets his girl of dreams Pratigya

Pratigya the perfect girl who loves her work and is always the centre of attention. She carries the charm and optimism in her smile and always make the environment better with her  flawless attitude.

It's love at first sight situation for both of them but as always can't admit. I loved how beautifully author presented their bond in which the there's friendship and love but the only thing that hurts is denial.

In this book you'll find the traits of a cold Male lead and an appealing female lead. When you'll get further you'll get to know that Pratham is 2 years younger than Pratigya. Yes there's opposite age gap.

This book will fill your heart with positivity of love , it shows that you can't deny love and can't stay away from no matter how hard you try and how much excuses you make, you have to get back to the love of your life.

Like sunflower 🌻 turns towards light I'll always turn towards you. 💕

At last I'd say you'll love the way  author has beautifully highlighted the emotionally driven exploration of love and loss , as it perfectly symbolises love at a distance or long distance relationship and its hardships and beauty .

You know those books that, from the very first page, pull you in and don't let you go? Hearts in Transit by Ruchi Prabhu is one of those books. As a reader, it's rare to find a story that feels so deeply human, where every emotion resonates and the characters feel like people you could know in real life. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai, this novel explores love, vulnerability, and self-discovery in a way that just feels real.

If you’re someone who loves stories about connection and personal growth, this is a must-read. Ruchi Prabhu, taps into the nuances of life, love, and the way we grow through relationships. It's clear that she has a deep understanding of the human experience, and she uses that to craft a narrative that is both relatable and emotionally rich.

At its core, Hearts in Transit tells the story of Pratham and Pratigya—two people from different walks of life whose paths cross in the fast-paced city of Mumbai. Pratham is a small-town dreamer trying to carve out a future, while Pratigya is a driven financial analyst focused on her career. Their unlikely connection grows quietly yet deeply, as they both navigate their dreams, insecurities, and the challenges that come with trying to balance love with personal aspirations. What really sets this book apart is how it doesn’t just focus on romance but also dives into the complexity of individual growth and how it intersects with love.

Prabhu’s writing has this wonderful balance of being deeply reflective yet incredibly engaging. She has this knack for drawing you into her characters' worlds with prose that feels both vivid and intimate. The way she describes Mumbai—the busy streets, the quiet corners—is so well done, you can almost feel the city’s pulse beneath your feet. But what really shines is how she portrays her characters’ inner worlds, especially the emotional ups and downs of love and self-discovery. The writing doesn’t feel forced or overly flowery—it’s authentic and accessible. It’s the kind of writing that makes you feel like you’re sitting with a friend, having an honest conversation about life and love.

Pratham and Pratigya are characters you can easily root for. They’re real, they’re flawed, and they make mistakes—just like we all do. Pratham, with his quiet ambition and tenderness, feels like someone who’s navigating life’s uncertainties with hope and determination. Pratigya, on the other hand, is strong, driven, and yet incredibly vulnerable. What makes these characters stand out is how their individual journeys intertwine. Their love isn’t the traditional whirlwind romance but something that’s slow-burn, grounded in mutual respect, personal growth, and, above all, a shared understanding of what it means to fight for your dreams while staying true to yourself.

The pacing of the book is spot on. It doesn’t rush through the relationship but takes its time, allowing both Pratham and Pratigya to grow individually and as a couple. It’s a slow-building connection that feels earned rather than forced. The structure is easy to follow, with moments of reflection and introspection that balance out the more eventful parts of the story. The narrative flows smoothly, making it easy to get lost in the book for hours. No major twists or turns, but the story is so satisfying in its simplicity that you don’t mind at all.

At its heart, Hearts in Transit is about growth. Not just personal growth but how love can help us grow, if we’re open to it. The story explores how we often need to take risks—whether it’s in love or in our careers—to truly find happiness. It’s also about embracing vulnerability and the courage to let someone into your world, especially when you’re afraid of what that might mean for your independence. It’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful connections come when we least expect them, and they shape us in ways we never saw coming.

This book is an emotional ride—there’s no denying that. There are moments that make your heart swell, especially when Pratham and Pratigya face the realities of their long-distance relationship and personal goals. There’s also a bittersweetness that lingers, especially when they both realize that sometimes love isn’t enough to keep two people together if their paths are too different. But at the same time, the book is filled with hope. It’s the kind of story that makes you reflect on your own relationships, your own dreams, and how love plays a role in all of it.

One of the book’s greatest strengths is its authenticity. The characters feel real, the emotions feel real, and the challenges they face are things we all can relate to. I also really appreciated how Prabhu captured the complexity of balancing love with ambition—something that’s often overlooked in romance novels. The writing itself is another highlight—simple but powerful, capturing the essence of every emotion without over-complicating things. It’s an easy book to fall into.

If I had to point out a weakness, I’d say that the story could have benefited from a bit more conflict or tension, especially towards the middle. While the pacing is solid, there are moments when things feel a bit too smooth. But honestly, this is a minor critique in an otherwise lovely book. The emotional depth of the story compensates for any lack of dramatic plot twists.

Personally, this book hit home for me in ways I wasn’t expecting. I’ve always been a sucker for stories about love that aren’t perfect or idealized, and this book delivered on that front. The journey of watching Pratham and Pratigya grow individually, while still supporting each other, felt incredibly heartwarming and real. I also appreciated how it made me think about my own aspirations and how they intersect with my relationships.

Hearts in Transit is a heartfelt and inspiring read. It’s the kind of book that will make you reflect on the importance of both love and personal growth. Ruchi Prabhu has created something special here—an authentic, emotionally rich story that will resonate with anyone who’s ever navigated love and ambition. I’m excited to see what she writes next, and I’d highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a story that’s both tender and transformative.

If you’re in the mood for a romance that’s not just about love but also about self-discovery and growth, Hearts in Transit is your perfect companion.

Hearts in Transit by Ruchi Prabhu is a brilliant piece of writing where the contours of a modern Indian city serve as a backdrop to a novel that speaks about the spirit of love, the struggles of achievement and the question of self-identity. Swaying to the musical rhythm of modern Mumbai the readers are offered a penetrating journey through human soul, love, and current relationships’ difficulties. Prabhu lays down issues to do with discovery of one’s identity, the societal burden and the quest for a soul mate. The narrative is not a love story only; it has a gist of expressing an observation of how the lives in the urban world influence prospects, relations and selves.

The story revolves around two protagonists: Pratham, a small town boy who has big dreams for himself and Pratigya, acareer woman on a mission to achieve her childhood dream job of being a financial analyst. Their actions intertwine, resulting in a gradual, passionate love story set against the backdrop of the characters’ intense careers. Their blossoming love and eventual relationship happens behind the perked eyes of the busy city giving readers a realistic and endearing story of the new generation relationships. It faithfully reflects the modern world and its relationships, showing how love is intertwined with various difficulties at work and within a couple.

The book has undergone significant character development which is one of the book’s biggest strengths. Pratham is portrayed as a naive, hardworking person struggling to fit into the Mumbai’s high living standard while Pratigya is shown as a strong minded and focused career woman who is challenged with her strenuous work schedule. The characters seemed quite realistic and the changes they undergo during the story are described in great detail and with understanding. Their friendship is complex and well done, they can be tender, loyal, and turn to each other for help and comfort. Although, it can be a story of love and partnership and, at the same time, a story of two people feeling each other as support and staying faithful to their own aspirations.

The writing style is lucid and lively and the structure of the writing is coherent and effective. In every prospect, the emotionally strung and analytical undertones that Prabhu imbued its prose made the story to touch the emotions. It talks of subjects that many a reader can easily associate with, such as career and love, search for identity and survival in the world of concrete jungles. The environment of Mumbai is used to convey the idea of the setting, and the occurrence can be said to feature Mumber as a character. The culture, the city’s life, the street and the contrast of the lifestyle are depicted in detail by Prabhu which brings depth to the story. The environment further adds to the emotional arcs of the characters to give a realistic and engrossing experience.

The plot progression of Hearts in Transit is rather slow and the reader gets enough time to be privy to details regarding the characters and the storyline. The story does not force fast paced happenings and allows the reader to follow the characters’ thinking and actions. Ruchi writes as if it is the story of a close person hence making the readers emotionally engage with the story. So the process of personal change of the characters and the development of their relations are presented in balance. As for the romantic aspect, there are no attempts to fit typical movie love cliches, the key is the slow and a bit blurred process of characters’ trust and appreciation.

All in all, it can be said that it is a love and post-modernist urbanist novel written with passion and hope that conveys a message about love and striving for success. Ruchi Prabhu has spun a play out of a tale which is as much a discovery of the self as it is, a love story. It’s one that makes us consider our own lives and the linkages that form the basis of our existence. Overall, it shall be enjoyed by those who prefer modern romance as well as the reader’s personal transformation narratives. That is why it will be appropriate for readers fascinated with powerful feelings and colorful urban backgrounds.

I was looking for a story that was both realistic and dramatic, and Ruchi Prabhus Heart in the transit was exactly what I needed. I was attracted to the promise of the title of romance and adventures, and I was much more enthusiastic about reading due to the feeling of movement and the connection of the cover.

I was quickly trained in the life of Pratham and Pratigya, the protagonist of the book, through the atmosphere of opening of promise and sorrow. The feeling of authenticity and realism in history was initially my attention. Because of their inherent humanity - flexions and everyone - seem to be the difficulties and the development of characters such as reflections in real life. Their path of love, ambition, and self-discovery was as joyful as it was tragic.

The relatability of this story was what I admired most about it. Pratham felt like someone you may know—or maybe have been at one point—as a small-town idealist adjusting to the bustle and allure of Mumbai. Pratigya's fortitude and quiet courage, however, reflected the difficulties many people encounter while juggling work and love while aiming for career success.

Special attention should be given to the narrative's pacing, which kept me interested from the first chapter forward with its smooth flow. Reluctant to give up the book's universe, I found myself bringing it with me everywhere. With all of its contrasts and excitement, Mumbai evolved from a setting to a character in and of itself, feeling like an essential component of the narrative.

Another notable component was the author's emotional depth when discussing the hardships of a long-distance relationship. The novel did not sugarcoat the agony of separation, the importance of unspoken words, or the inner upheaval that occurs when individual aspirations clash with those of the community. Both endings were bold and original choices that left me feeling satisfied and introspective while offering nuanced perspectives on endings and the reality of love.

In short, Hearts in Transit is a story about perseverance, personal growth, and the importance of relationships that transcend geography and time. If you're looking for an inspiring, heartfelt read, this is a must-read. By the time I finished the book, I was left feeling both reflective and grateful for the reminder that love in all its forms is worth pursuing.

What makes it so special is how real it feels. You don’t just read about Pratham and Pratigya, you live their story with them. 💌 It's beautiful written, every line, every word, every emotion! 💘 It's ' Men written by women ' book. ✨️🫠❤️

Their conversations, their struggles, those little moments, love language where they just get each other, it all feels so natural. And the Hindi lines in between? Such a nice touch. 🥰 Simple, beautiful, and straight from the heart.

Some books don’t just tell a story, they become a feeling, and this book is one of them, that it stays with you long after you turn the last page. Every sentence feels almost like poetic, almost too real. 🥺❤️

Mumbai holds a special place in my heart. It is a city that has given me lessons and taken away so much more. It is here that I truly understood the meaning of deception. I have read many love stories set in this city, but none have ever moved me the way this contemporary romance has. This is not just a tale; it is an experience—one that intertwines modern relationships, ambitious careers, and the labyrinth of human emotions.

This is the story of Pratham and Pratigya.

A small-town boy trying to find his place in the fast-paced, fashion-conscious city of dreams. A strong, confident, career-driven woman who knows exactly what she wants. Their story doesn’t begin with grand gestures or cinematic coincidences—though ironically, it starts in the heart of the film industry. No, their journey unfolds the way most office romances do—with stolen glances, casual greetings, small talk, and a slow, undeniable attraction. And perhaps that is why this tale drew me in—it is a dream I never had, yet one I found myself lost in.

The narrative flows effortlessly, weaving through the complexities of life—desire, friendship, expectations, self-doubt, heartbreak, and the bittersweet hope of love finding its way back. Pratham and Pratigya navigate it all, but the question lingers: Will love return for them?

To know the answer, you must turn the pages of this enchanting book.

What captivated me most was how deeply I connected with Pratham. It is unusual, perhaps, for a woman to relate more to the hero than the heroine. Yet, as the story unfolded, I, too, fell for the unyielding spirit of Pratigya—just as Pratham did.

Another charm of this novel is the author’s unique storytelling—desi at its core yet effortlessly modern, like a timeless melody infused with a contemporary rhythm. This fusion of tradition and modernity makes the romance even more beautiful, more real.

In the end, this is not just a love story—it is a love to be celebrated.

The book starts with Pratham deboarding his train to the city of dreams, Mumbai. After many sacrifices, he manages to land a job in Wipro's IT cell, fueled by a desire to prove his worth. He tries to embark on this chaotic journey away from his mellow hometown of Bilaspur.
As new friendships develop, he finds himself drawn to Pratigya from the finance department of his office. Her gentle and trusting nature makes him believe in himself as he dreams bigger towards his deeper ambitions of fighting for justice as a lawyer.

Their bond grows, and together they try to address the setbacks, misunderstandings, and other challenges, making efforts to show genuine love for each other until a beautiful confession gives words to this attachment they already have.
Yet fate has other plans; as she travels to surprise him, a shocking turn of events tears them apart, this time forever.

My Thoughts:
After reading so many love stories, I realized that this one is the closest to what happens in reality, rather than exceptional roundabout tales of fiction.
How love simmers with each interaction, efforts, and little joys that make life richer. The writing is beautiful, as the internal monologue of the characters sheds light on feelings and emotions that transpire with each small action or inaction.
The insecurities and goals people carry as life is multidimensional, with so much going on in personal, professional, and psychological levels.
There are lessons from the past and hopes for the future that tangle up the present.
The slow burn romance was beautiful, though the tragic end made me realize that not all stories may end with a HEA.
However, people continue to live until their time arrives, sometimes as reformed beacons for society, and this love gives them an everlasting strength ✨

Hearts in Transit is more than just a story—it’s a journey of emotions that lingers long after you’ve turned the last page. The book captures the beauty of human connections, the ache of distances, and the serendipity of life in transit. It’s not perfect—no story truly is—but its imperfections make it real, almost like sitting on a train next to a stranger who shares a piece of their soul.

What struck me the most was how effortlessly the author weaves the characters’ flaws into the narrative, making them less like characters and more like people you might meet on a rainy day. Each conversation feels raw, and each silence between them feels louder than words. It’s not about grand declarations or perfect endings but about the quiet, messy, and sometimes bittersweet realities of life.

The writing, at times, feels indulgent—almost like the author is too in love with their own metaphors—but then again, isn’t that what love does to us? It makes us poetic, even when we don’t intend to be. And Hearts in Transit does just that. It makes you feel things you weren’t prepared to feel, think thoughts you didn’t expect to think, and long for moments that aren’t yours to relive.

Is it perfect? No. Some chapters felt like they were dragging their feet, and certain characters could’ve been fleshed out more. But maybe that’s the point—life doesn’t always give us closure, and people don’t always get their time in the spotlight.

If you’ve ever felt lost in transit—be it in life, love, or even on a literal journey—this book will find you. It won’t promise answers, but it will sit beside you quietly and remind you that even in the chaos of moving forward, there’s beauty to be found in the pauses.

The novel stands out for it's emotional depth and realistic portrayal of modern relationships, particularly the challenges of long-distance love.

The novel delves into the bittersweet nature of goodbyes, the sacrifices required to sustain love across miles, and the personal growth that often accompanies such journeys. Prabhu's writing beautifully captures the tension between the heart's desires and the practicalities of life, making it a deeply relatable read for contemporary audiences.

Mumbai plays a crucial role in shaping the novel's atmosphere, providing a rich and dynamic setting that enhances the characters experiences. The city's bustling energy contrasts with the emotional solitude of long-distance relationships, adding another layer of depth to the story.

Actually, what felt the record breaking to be hottest would make one excited to maintain records of anything. Heats in Transit is one amazing, heartfelt read by Ruchi Prabhu, journeying with dreams, love, and self-realization in the vibrant Mumbai. Love and relationships make such delicate things-out of it: one thing inside is battle between ambition, emotions. Chapter after chapter belongs to something much graver, that is living, resisting, with all of its sweet-sour sorrows practised.

The story's hero is named Pratham, a small-town dreamer aimed at a light towards what's in-future and practiced by Pratigya, with big dreams of working and being an analyst in the financial sector. As shown in the novel Man of Her Match, they grow together-it's getting to the right mature but-grounds of mutual respect with each other, real understanding of the conditions.

Its simplicity is breathtaking, moving one fast through the images of Mumbai painted on these pages and also the internal chaos of the character described. The book flows steadily with adequate spot for reflection and emotional connection. It is through subsequent chapters the reader is enticed deeper into the lives of the protagonists, rendering very vibrant growth and vulnerability.

Surely, this novel is going to touch the heart of anyone who needs some inspiration into thoughts, understanding a bit better reality about of strong relationships or desires. In hearts in transit there is sure bound to leave much to your self for memory of such amazing books.

🌸I just finished reading this book, and I'm still smiling about the beautiful love story that unfolded. The thing about this book is- it's more than just a love story. The book highlights the importance of new beginnings, authentic connections, and more importantly- the courage and strength to take risks for love.
The author beautifully writes about the lives of Pratham, a small-town dreamer, and Pratigya (i love this name) a driven financial analyst, in the city of Mumbai.
Their chance- meeting sparks a deep connection that grows deeply amidst the city's chaos. I loved how the author explored themes of vulnerability, resilience, and the human desire for meaningful connections.

What struck me most was the author's descriptions of Mumbai's bustling streets, which transported me to the heart of the city & now I BADLY WANNA VISIT MUMBAI.
The characters' struggles and triumphs felt incredibly relatable, and made me feel like I was right there when things happened.
This book felt like a celebration of love, ambition, and self-discovery. It reminds us that sometimes, the heart finds its way in the most unexpected moments.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a genuine, moving, and emotional read that could also make you fall in love with Mumbai just like I did 😉
