I feel like I've never read good sci-fi before, or I didn't understand what it was supposed to convey until this series. It's so good! I love the chess analogy, the differences between the alien races that mirror our own human tendencies. The writing is great, and the science is even plausible. There are a whole lotta great things that come together. I missed the (now usurped) Conductor from the last book, the new Conductor wasn't quite as good and I felt like the book needed a better storyline from the Cerebs that wasn't there this time. Other than that, everything was amazing. Sci-fi at its best.

Amazing series

You feel like you are along for the ride and battles with Rook and Bishop. I can't wait for the next promised entry to this wonderful story of survival, hope, and imagination of what might be.

A great sci-fi book. I love that the series has so far evolved and is becoming bigger and badder. This book is certainly much more hopeful than the previous one without becoming overly cheesy or naive.

I hope that Chad Huskins continues this series. Amazing read. Highly recommended

Unique!

Great sequel! Really enjoy Rook and the story line. Looking forward to the next book! Different from the typical space opera.
