Kirchner: Peter Schlemihl's Wondrous Story, 1915

Ich habe den prächtigen Bildband im Berliner Brücke-Museum gekauft. Moeller, die Museums-Direktorin und Autorin, ist eine ausgewiesene Expertin expressionistischer Kunst. Sowohl die Entstehungsgeschichte der Erzählung von Chamisso "Peter Schlemihl" als auch die der darauf basierenden Holzschnitte von Kirchner werden dargestellt. Die Holzschnitte, die Kirchner unter dem Eindruck des Ersten Weltkriegs angefertigt hat, sind herausragend. Für Anhänger der Brücke-Künstler ist der Bildband sehr zu empfehlen.
