Ο Ντιέγκο και η Τζούλια θέλουν να αποκτήσουν ένα σκυλάκι και τελικά η ευχή τους πραγματοποιείται.
Την πρώτη φορά όμως που βγαίνουν βόλτα στο πάρκο κάποιος το βάζει σε έναν σάκο κι εξαφανίζεται.

Disclaimer: This is a review from a non-native speaker and comes from my perspective as a Spanish teacher.
Pros: I thought the book had a lot of funny moments. I like the unique styling of the book, with the pages tinted in yellow, and different fonts used to emphasize certain sentences and dialogue. I think those elements and also the great illustrations would really appeal to young readers. The book has a fun quirky style that stays consistent throughout. It was clearly the introductory book in the series, and it left me wanting to see what kinds of adventures Diego, Julia and Perrock have in the future.
Cons: I thought there could have been a bit more "mystery" for the reader. There weren't a lot of surprises in the storyline, but this was the introductory book in the series and I imagine it might be better in the future (as I find that often to be the case for series). Also, as a teacher, there were two things that make me hesitant to share this book with children and teens in my classes: #1 First, there is a strange and unnecessary scene early in the book where Perrock sees a female dog. He says, "A mí me molan altas" and pounces on her, trying to seduce (ligar) her. It then explains that "ligar" for him just meant insistently sniff her up and down. To me this scene adds nothing to the story, but instead makes light of a personified dog making sexual advances on another animal regardless of consent. This could be an awkward scene to discuss with my students, but I'm sure it would draw their attention. #2 There is a demeaning and stereotypical representation of an asian massage therapist and manicurist in the book. From the illustration of her to the narrative description, and her "acento chino," the character serves as little more than a comedic foil. There is no reason for her to be asian, except to make someone laugh because of stereotypes and the fact that she is "other." She has no agency and really contributes nothing to the story. This character could have been replaced with any everyday Spanish person, and the author could have found some other way to incorporate comedy into the passages in the massage parlor.

Jei trumpai - nėra ši knyga visai bloga, bet yra ir geresnių.
Taip maždaug jauniems paaugliams skirta knyga.
Man, kaip mamai, labiausiai užstrigo brolio ir sesers santykiai. Taip, broliai ir seserys pasipeša, pakonkuruoja, ir gerai, kad knygos tai atspindi - tačiau jos turėtų ir pasiūlyti, kaip nesutarimus spręsti, o ne skatinti disfunkcinius santykius. Šioje knygoje tai ypač akivaizdžiai matėsi skyriuje apie krokodilą. Mergina kabėjo ant duobės krašto, brolis ją galėjo lengvai išgelbėti, bet pasirinko ją terorizuoti, versdamas ją prižadėti nesąmoningų dalykų, jei nori būti išgelbėta. Jie vienas kitą nuolat vadina durniais, neklauso, ką kitas sako, ir iš bėdos išlipa ne dėka savo santykių, o nepaisant.
Jei esate mama/tėtis ir pamatę, kad knyga apie brolį su seserimi tikitės, kad vaikai kažko gero išmoks apie tarpusavio santykius... tai žinokite, ši knyga tikrai nepadės.
Siužetas lengvas, tekstas papuoštas skirtingais šriftais, yra keletas iliustracijų. Teksto stilius maždaug toks, kaip rašytų paaugliai - su pajuokavimais, juokingais palyginimais su Šakira ir pan. Mane erzino, sūnus tų pokštų nesuprato, bet gal paaugliams ir sueitų.
Mano septynmetis knygą išklausė, bet nepasirodė, kad jam ji būtų labai patikusi. Likus paskutiniam skyriui jis pasiėmė pavartyti žurnalą kol aš skaitau - tai kalba už save.

Kadangi knyga man pasirodė neverta vietos lentynoje, nusprendžiau ją parduoti. Tą pamatęs sūnus užprotestavo, išsireikalavo perskaityti dar kartą, ir vis vien neleido parduoti. Tai va taip va - man nevertinga knyga, o sūnui ji, atrodo, patiko.

Libro muy entretenido, con muchos momentos graciosos que nos hicieron reír cuando lo leímos en familia. Lo recomendamos como primer libro para niñas y niños desde 5.

English review, summary: Although this appears to be for kids e.g. aged 7 to 9 due to the illustrations, text size, and varied text fonts and sizes used, it contains significant bathroom-related crudity, perhaps more suitable for 13+.
Spanish review: Creo que debo avisar a los padres sobre esta serie. Por su apariencia con ilustraciones estilo de caricatura, su letra que cambia de forma y tamaño divertido, el tamaño grande de la letra del libro etc., parece ser una serie para niños de quizás 7 a 9 años de edad. Su estilo y trama obviamente no llegan más allá de los 7-9 años…
Pero en los dos que he leído, contiene vocabulario cómo esto: (ejemplos aqui de Pistas a Cuatro Patas): cagar, cagaditos, seducir, etc. Hay otro el la serie mas ofensivo aun. Cada pariente tendrá su propio estándar para este tipo de cosa, y quizás también depende del país, para mí no es vocabulario adecuado para niños menores a 13, y a esa edad, el contenido será demasiado infantil en mi opinión.

4 estrellas. Este primer libro está muy bien hecho ya que la trama y la historia te dejan leyendo hasta la última página. Me parece que cuando los hermanos se dan cuenta de que su mascota habla, la llevan al parque, e intentan comprarle, deberían haberle preguntado a Perrock la razón de que ese extraño le intentase llevar. Mi opinión personal es que aparte de algunos errores el libro está muy bien escrito.

Trata sobre unos niños que quieren tener una mascota. Sus padres adoptan un perro, pero la primera vez que los niños lo sacan a pasear, lo secuestran. No saben por qué. Es lo que tienen que averiguar y que su perro vuelva con ellos antes de que los padres se den cuenta de lo sucedido. Me ha encantado. Es un libro infantil muy interesante y entretenido.

Un libro sencillo y poco memorable. Me sirvió mucho para poder despejarme de mi estancamiento lector. Sin embargo esta lleno de situaciones de poca acción, diálogos repetitivos y escenas ridículas. De todos modos tiene unas ilustraciones divertidas y cumple con entretener.

Lo cogí en la biblioteca para mi hija de 5 años y se lo leí. A ver, para niños no está mal, pero le encuentro cositas… Este primer misterio es muy simplón y sirve para presentar a los personajes, pero no hay mucho misterio. De hecho, no sé por qué la policía aún no había atrapado al malo, con lo idiota que es.
Me chirría que los niños vayan a la policía y los atiendan sin un adulto de por medio.
Para pasar el rato, pero sin más.

Es una novelita muy salada, que habla de forma acertada el idioma del público al que va dirigida. Me gusta el personaje protagonista -el perro, me refiero-, y los guiños a los clásicos de la investigación (fletcher, etc). Muy salada y entretenida.

A el libro le he dado 4 estrellas porque me ha parecido muy chulo pero al leerme el resto de la saga me ha parecido que está a un nivel más bajo.
