Starting with the ending, this story was about an immortal that had a tribulation to overcome in the lower realms, but his lover took it in his place. Then he followed him down because he loves him too much.
Reincarnation after reincarnation, the only way to return in the upper realms to stop the fate of the lover to die each time.
But then, there are only 3 reincarnations and he actually failed each time. So I don’t understand how the scroll can make him turn in the 2nd timeline, make Chu Qi regain his memories of the forgotten timeline and also gave him that pure body that he didn’t had in first place. I mean, wasn’t his root entirely different in that timeline?
It didn’t make sense, he failed to save him and why that evil entity wasn’t there anymore? If the 3rd timeline was cancelled, why the evil entity wasn’t revived too in the 2nd?
How about the uncle? Shouldn’t he be still alive since the world tree wasn’t withered?
It didn’t make any sense!
There are so many plot holes and the narration was tedious. The fighting scenes were all impactful with a lot of theory of cultivation and so on, but they lacked emotional dynamics, I don’t know if it’s understandable. I can just make some examples with other stories, like in “return of the mount Hua sect”, it wasn’t a cultivation world but the author made the reader interested in the fighting scenes. They were explained beautifully and visibly and emotionally dynamic, making people interested in the characters martial arts.
Here it was just a bunch of scenes explained in grand to make the main leads shine. Boring.
And the love story was so bland, I just couldn’t feel the longing that should be there, it wasn’t described, like it was there like something that needs to be there but didn’t want to.
The villain was also bland. The secondary characters are also bland.
I mean, the idea was there but the execution was faulty.

This was OK to pass time, but didn't have enough 'pull' to keep me interested. I struggled to continue after halfway and forced myself to finish it.
I think one issue is that the main characters were passive for majority of the story. The story found them, not the other way around. The characters stumbled onto incidents and the antagonist by accident, and yet we're shown the antagonist plotting in the dark again and again while... the main characters just... continued with their daily life...
The romance aspect was rather lacking, maybe because the ML started from a state of already liking MC, so there wasn't much development needed. MC himself didn't have any obstacle or realisation in falling for ML, it just happened. It's explained away in the end by the fact that they're originally already a couple, but... There's no struggle in the romance department, basically.
The plot was ok, and I thought the author made a bold choice in erasing the third timeline... And then cheapened that decision by restoring MC's memory of the erased timeline.
In short... Not a story I'd recommend, there are better stories with similar premise.
Also, the "protagonist" mentioned in the story blurb? Never made an appearance. The blurb didn't even need to mention it as it wouldn't change the story...

Fue muy entretenido y ame su relación pero la trama me hizo dar vueltas la cabeza JAJAJA, el final fue feliz pero no era lo que esperaba (quería). Historia linda, divertida y con una trama interesante pero no fue lo suficiente para hacerme amarla por mucho tiempo. La recomiendo como para un bloqueo de lector.
