I already knew from my personal experience that knitting makes me grounded and sharpens my focus, but it was truly interesting reading the scientific explanation.
Anne Kirketerp combines her own research with previous findings from other researchers, for example in flow and positive emotions. The somewhat scientific prose is lightened up by small inserted quotes from participants in her survey.
I learned quite a lot from this book and was a bit surprised that having multiple ongoing knitting projects can actually promote my wellbeing. :)
While I basically have notices a lot of these things I feel that reading this book actually helped me understand why I need to make space for knitting in my everyday life. It's not just about me liking it, it has actually been studied that it can help me.

As a psychologist working clinically who also loves to craft I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It's opened up a new area for me to explore and think about. I've recognised the benefits of crafting in myself and so many clients also engage in craft so it's lovely to have an introduction to the science behind it
