Change of venue welcomed

Much less fighting, which gets tiresome and more strategies and mystery... On to book 3! I love discovering interesting writers.

Great second story

The way the story developed through this book in the series really brings the world to light. It builds so great. I can't wait for the rest of the story.

Wonderful story, BUT....

I found greatly annoying the way Healey lifts long passages and repeats them. I doubt I will read anything else by him because of this. He should assume this reader's are I interested enough in the story to remember what happened earlier without a "rerun" to remind them. If the reminder is essential to the story, at least write something fresh to accomplish that. I would not recommend the books because of this flaw.

I enjoyed this book as well as the first series. It was entertaining and I really like the characters. The only thing that took away from it for me was the very real similarities of some of the story aspects to other tv shows and movies I have seen, and books I've read.
Other than that, it was very enjoyable, and I look forward to reading the third series...in fact I've already started it.

Recommended reading from a journeyman author

There are few plot surprises in this story but the quality of the writing more than makes up for this and the book kept me turning the pages from start to finish.

After reading series one, I just had to carry on and read the second series.
More of the same, but with some twists I wasn't expecting. Great cliffhanger finish......
