Are you prepared to descend into madness like those who came before you?
Abigail is bound and determined to get out of the asylum she’s in and bring it down however she can. So that others don’t suffer like she did inside! This has got to be my favorite book by Ashley and I can’t wait to see what she writes about next.
Welcome to the Asylum blends psychological terror with supernatural dread, making for a gripping story. The fractured mind POV is very unique and gives the story a lot of depth and an air of suspense and mystery.
Abigale is in an asylum trying to figure out what’s real, and what’s not. You’ll have to read for yourself to find out... The ending especially had me shocked! With such detail, it really feels like you’re right there with Abigale.
Her journey is as much internal as it is external. The story delves deeply into themes of isolation and the thin line between sanity and madness. Her unraveling mental state is mirrored by the increasingly bizarre events surrounding her, leaving even you questioning what is real and what is not.
This was a very interesting read that had me hooked and wanting to know more!
Welcome to the Asylum by @author.ashley.marie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
we have lots to unpack here… let me start off by saying holy shit! this book (like every of ashley’s books i’ve read) was a damn rollercoaster. this one in particular was MY FAVORITE!!
i wanna say up until about chapter 20 i was feeling average about this book; in the 3.5 ⭐️ range, but let me tell you my mind quickly changed around that point😅 i was so damn confused but it all paid off in the end.
Abigale is one of the most badass FMC’s i’ve read about in awhile. she is in my top 5 FMC’s. her story, her character development, everything about her was moving, and so heartbreaking especially what she went through.
DID I MENTION THE END?!? HOLY SHIT! I can’t wait for night shift 😍

This was SUCH an amazing storyline!! I have read this book while helping edit it no less than 10 times and I love it so so much!! This is the first book in Abigale’s duet and without any spoilers - let yourself go insane with Abigale! It’s so worth it by the end I SWEAR!!
Welcome to the Asylum by Ashley Marie 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is such an interesting and super intense psychological horror story! Abigail is stuck in an insane asylum and her goal is to get out of the horrible place. She’s trapped psychically as well as mentally. It’s a dark story and really sucked me in to the mental anguish. The book is so descriptive; I felt like I was stuck in the darkness and terrors along with Abigail. It is very original in how the story is being told. I really like the way the author writes it. It’s a fast and exciting read!
Thank you to Ashley Marie for an arc of this amazing book! *It’s out now and is a must for those looking for intense psychological darkness!*
I loved this book!! Ashley Marie makes you feel as if you are the FMC. Everything she's going through, all the mind games and torture, it's like you're right there with her. Being in Abigale's mind is definitely a rollercoaster but so worth it. There is so much pain that Abigale experiences that, at times, she can't tell what's real from what's fake. As a reader, you also can't really tell, and I think that's what's so great about it. Marie does a great job keeping you fully immersed in her stories, and I can't wait for Night Shift to release!
The book follows the story of Abigail Sheetz, who seems to be battling some mental health issues or is being manipulated into thinking she is and suffers through some very trying moments, it’s unclear how accurate the time element is throughout the story as even she is unclear of the time. There are some unexpected events that occur causing the FMC to question her sanity. It was interesting but it felt like it was a little repetitive, possibly due to the sufferings of the character. I definitely applauded the FMC’s strong will and determination to survive.
When I think of asylums and the type of things that went on within the walls of them, this is exactly what I picture!!! Abigail seems to have mental health issues, but on top of what was being done to in the asylum. She wants to break out or at least be able to help the other patient as well, bushes losing grasp of reality. Abigail is strong willed and determined! The story was very well written and was a real psychological rollercoaster. This one is definitely my favorite of all of Ashleys books so far.
Abigail wants to escape and bring the asylum down. Is it real, is it in her head, you have to read it to find out. The author takes you on a psychological roller coaster with horror mixed in. The author's attention to detail makes you feel like you are right in the story and can visualize every event that Abigail goes through. One thing I would have liked is a little bit of a backstory as to why Abigail was where she was. The twist at the end will have you questioning at all.
Welcome to the Asylum is a psychological horror story. It's about Abigaile Sheetz and her fight against demons in her mind and real life. She's determined to escape the asylum and destroy it in the process. The story will come alive in your mind, putting you in it right next to Abigaile. Throughout the book, one can observe the main character's downward spiral into madness. I cannot wait to see what Ashley Marie has in store for book two.
This book. This book grabbed me within the first few pages and I was hooked. There was no putting it down. No matter what I needed to do, this book had to be read first. It moves along at a pace that is perfect for the story, which made for an easy and enjoyable read. These characters are amazing. They are unique and interesting and you really want to know what makes them tick. This book has to be read. You will not be disappointed that you did.
This book was beyond what I was expecting and so much more than I thought. It was hard to tell one moment from the next, skipping and going all over, but it works so well. The fractured and brokenness of the FMC, and the resilience and rebelliousness, just made me want to read more, know more. Was not expecting it to end the way it did, but I am so excited for more.
This book totally exceeded my expectations and offered way more than I anticipated. The way it jumped around made it tricky to keep track of the moments, but it all came together perfectly. The main character's struggles and her fierce spirit really drew me in, making me eager to dive deeper into the story. I didn't see that ending coming at all, but now I'm super pumped for what's next.
Welcome to the Asylum grabbed my attention FAST! A book you can't put down till the end...
Abigail has 1 goal && it's to take the Asylum down! Is it real or all in her head?!
While reading this I felt like I was there with Abi. Going down every hall && the rooms where some of the torture happens. You can feel all the emotions Abi goes through.
Abigail is determined to get out of the asylum she’s in and bring it down any way she possibly can.
They way Ashely Marie write you are part of the story experiencing and see if all along with the FMC. What a ride Abigale's kind will take you on. This is a dark twisting journey that will slow drive you mad if you’re not careful.
A wonderful mixture of Paranormal and psychological horror that sticks with you. Ashley has done it again, a marvelous work with her yet another horror thriller that will blow your mind. I just loved it. Poor FMC, I so wanted her to get out. I felt so bad. but it also made this book much much better with the ending. I am hoping to have more of it. Highly Recommend to all Horror Lovers.
Starting off the year right with this one. I again had to check my sanity after this one was done. I went into this pretty blind but oh my lord, it did not disappoint. I read it pretty much straight through with a few breather breaks but still I am here for it all and don't regret a thing. Abigail is my hero and I will be placing this on my trophy shelf for sure
3.5 The book follows the story of Abigail, who may be battling some mental health issues or is being manipulated into thinking she is. It was a trippy roller coaster ride of a story that pulled me in right away. I thought the writing was good and wonderfully atmospheric, but the story became a little confusing toward the end. However, it was worth a read.
Overall a very interesting read and a bit hard to keep up with if you're not focusing solely on your reading. The story jumping around definitely keeps you thinking and will make you feel how you'd think Abigail is feeling.
A moving book. What is real, and what is going on in her head? You keep reading because you want to know how everything works. I'm certainly looking forward to the sequel!
This book was something else, it was horrific and filled with twists. Poor Abigail was losing her mind and trying to fix it at the same time. Like damn, can't a girl catch a break?
Welcome to the Asylum is a riveting and emotional tale that follows Abigale Sheetz. Her state of mind is warped and her timeline of events is completely off. The whole book you are wondering just what is going on in the asylum. The demons in her head are lurking everywhere, but they are nothing compared to the real terrors that haunt the halls.
You can really see her descent into madness with Ashley’s writing. This feels like a mix between R.L. Stine’s fear street novels and Stephen King’s works. I can’t wait for the next installment!
Abigail made me sad. Her life is filled with demons in her head and demons around her in real life. As the book progresses, you can feel Abigail’s mental health slowly declining. Looking forward to book #2
