Unable to sit still or focus on a single task, I learned at a young age that I was meant to do something that put my entire mind to use. I was always a mimic and did impressions of people in odd places. And that's how my stories began.

But being a great storyteller doesn't mean much when you don't have any listeners. I've been very fortunate to have a fan base that supports my work and encourages me to release sequels. Without all of you, I'd have no purpose. Literally.

My personal life isn't too interesting. My husband is an alpha male that inspires a lot of my novels. He can be pushy and overwhelming at times, but I still love him to the end of my days, especially when I put him in his place. =)

Writing has been a lifelong dream. When I was in college, I was always in awe of the fabulous stories I read. I always said, "I wish I could write something like that someday." But I never thought I would actually do it. Boy, was I wrong.

Thank you so much for all the support.

Being afraid to let go of past pain, lies of omission, fear of falling too far, and misunderstandings that weren’t addressed were all part of the reasons Prudence ran out on Cash leaving nothing more than a brief note. Cash realizes what he has lost, but even her brother doesn’t know where she is and he wants her back, forever. Prudence is once again struggling to survive, singing and playing in bars, barely making enough to pay the rent. That all changed when Dean, a record label owner convinces her to take a chance on him as a friend and his record company as her portal to fame and fortune. But always in her heart of hearts Cash looms, his loss still a shattering experience, as she questions why he couldn’t love her as she loved him. When a huge event where Prudence is the entertainment comes a long, Cash is floored that his angel is right in front of him. How does he convince her they belong together when she is obviously with Dean? Did he mean that little to her that she has already moved on? Will fate or the immigration authorities play a role in bringing them back together? When will they tear down the walls that separate them?

Light My Fire by Abby Reynolds made me go from sadly heartbroken for both characters to wanting to set them both down in a room and force them to stay there until they finally tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The addition of Dean into the mix makes for a refreshing twist on that old time favorite, nerve pincher, “The Love Triangle.” Two egos, two lonely and broken hearts, each telling their side of the story with emotion, intensity and true pain, one fabulously talented author putting it all together, creating a wondrous tale of love and where fear of being hurt again and a lack of self-worth hold two hearts hostage in the game of life and risks. I was lost in the pain and hope between Prudence and Cash, especially when Abby Reynolds found it necessary to place even more obstacles and twists in their path!

Cash realizes too late he wants to let Pru know he loves her.
Pru leaves and lets Cash believe she has left the states.
She lets Jeremy believe she is still with Cash.
When Cash can't track her down because he doesn't even know her last name, he remembers the company Jeremy consulted with and gives the man $10K for his information.
Cash and his brother go to London and basically crash after trying to figure out where Pru is with no luck.
Pru has been approached by the owner of Capitol Records and is basically pulled out of poverty by him. They get along well due to mutual heart break.
He suggest becoming her agent and manager as well. She has a makeover and is told to lose 15 pounds which she basically tells them to shove it (right on Pru).
Pru has an event for a studio to celebrate their 200th show. And guess whose it is??? Of course. And he sees her but she doesn't see him. And when he goes to approach her, he sees her interact with Dean and gets sick. When his show has an act cancel they fill it with Pru. The two basically try to be civil, but they are both holding back so much. Cash ask her to dinner and so many emotions are on the table and in the car. But when nothing is said by either they think it is over. The next day, Pru is told she has an expired Visa for living in the states. Dean suggest they marry for her to stay in the states. Then Cash calls to talk further and she tells him about her Visa issues and tells her it would be best if he married her as he has nothing to gain from the marriage and they dated for so long.
Drama drama drama
When will the next book come out, as my phone is about to DIE!!!

This story follows on from book 1 and must be read in sequence otherwise it makes no sense. However, if you have read Under My Thumb then it is the perfect continuation of a love story in a surreal place but with completely real people. Both Cash and Pru come across as perfectly 'normal' people who have both been burnt in the past and are now afraid of getting hurt again. Of course, there are parts of the book where you are shouting out for them to just speak already and stop the confusion but then the book wouldn't be as interesting to read.

There isn't as much action between the sheets in this book but it works the way it is. This is more than the first flush of romance, this is the pain of not knowing, not having and as such, you don't need hot action!

A wonderful story to read and with characters that just keep on getting more interesting. Now I want a HEA for Dean as well as Jeremy! Recommended for all fans of Contemporary Romance.

Awesome read... Its irritating because they couldn't just express how they feel for each other. Keep saying out with it. But that's what made the story a good read. Can't wait to start on book 3.

This was the first time I've ever read a book where the H/h are apart for most of the story and not once did I get bored, skim or skip pages to get to the good stuff. It was great from the start and I enjoyed every minute of it. The H/h's sadness, loneliness and hopelessness consumed the pages and I think the author did a good job of conveying their feelings through the use of secondary characters.

The book started off right after Pru left Cash, her family and friends behind. She's broke and heartbroken but luckily she meets Dean, who's looking for some new talent and Pru fits the bill. Pru's relationship with Dean drew my hackles up. I was immediately defensive of Cash and wanted him to find Pru as fast as humanly possible because no one was more perfect for her than he was. Cash was on a desperate hunt to find Pru and resorted to searching out Jeremy (Pru's brother) to find her. Cash was no longer the cocky womanizer, but a desperate man in search of the only person who could make him whole again.

I wasn't sure if I should hate Dean or love him. He was just what Pru needed and he helped her when she was at her lowest. He understood what she was going through and he became the friend she needed, but in the back of my mind, I kept thinking, "Keep your filthy paws away from Pru. She belongs to Cash!"

There was great tension building in this story and I flew through the pages just waiting to see when these two would get back together. The only thing that drove me nuts was the fact that Cash vowed to tell Pru exactly how he felt about her as soon as he found her, but when they came face to face, he kept his mouth shut because he wasn't sure she felt the same way. I wanted to strangle both of them, but I loved them both at the same time. This is one of my favorites this year and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book.

Light my fire (Serenade Series BK2) by Abby Reynolds
This is the continued story and one where we find the H/H apart for most of the book. It is about both of them realizing that they are in fact in love with one another. Cash has decided to go to London and look for Prudence. He stays with her brother and they form a friendship bond. This also allows us a hint of Jeremy and his darker life. (Sure there will be a book about him soon – he is rather intriguing). Pru has not left the states and she has taken odd singing jobs just to make a living – in walks Dean just to throw some heat into the story. I like Dean and his character and he was good for Prudence. When Cash finally catches up with Pru he feels that she has moved on. When a twist of fate happens from the authorities, Cash sees his chance with Pru. Guess what – we have to read book 3 to find out if they are going to continue to play cat and mouse or if they are finally going to admit their true feelings.

I give this 3.8 stars . . . here is why.

This book starts off right after the first one ends, and spans over only about 2-3 months time, if that, total. A hell of alot of crap happens!

This story is completely frustrating due to the main character barely speaking to one another! They are both so in love, and in pain, yet will not tell one another . . . that is my main very simple summary of this book! It is a 2nd book, that wants us to read on with the series and pretty much ends with a cliffhanger.

Now - I am in NO way downing this book. I am doing the opposite! I am telling you that you will like this book but it will make you want to throw your Kindle across the room or yell at Cash. He is a dummy.

What I LOVED:
~ Pru continues to be about the music, even beyond broke.
~ Her nasty apartment - typical LA
~ More from the brother, Jeremy (I see he has a book later in the Series!! Yay!)
~ Dean.
~ Pru being cast on the Tonight Show
~ Pru being slutt-ty up by a stylists.
~ Her fighting about losing weight . . .

This might feel like SPOILERS so don't read if you want to be surprised . . .

With that I can not wait for the 3rd book!!! Like now . . .

What to do...Cash has finally owned up to himself that Prudence is his one and only, the only problem is nobody knows how to find her. With the encouragement of his brother, Cash hunts down Prudence's brother and flies to the UK in hope that he might know where she is.

Meanwhile Prudence is trying to make ends meet, she gets an apartment - the best she can afford...cockroach infested and in a bad part of town, she is determined to survive. She arranges a few gigs that allow her to pay the rent...but only just. It is during a gig that she meets Dean, who happens to be a music producer at Capitol Records. Things start to look up for Prudence.

Cash soon finds out that Prudence's brother is as in the dark about her whereabouts as everyone else is. But both he and Cash agree to work together to find her. A brief phone call from Prudence put there minds at ease a little, though she is still not read to tell anyone where she is...except that she is safe and still in the USA.

Prudence puts her soul into her music career, but her heart is still very much attached to Cash. If only he could have been less of a commitment-phobe there could have been so much potential for them, but it was what it was and there was no pretense otherwise. Prudence tries her damnedest to move on and leans on Dean and his offer of friendship.

Cash hires a PI to find Prudence...though Immigration find her first as her visa has expired. Unless she rectifies the problem she will be deported. Dean offers a solution, but not before the PI alerts Cash to her whereabouts. Will Cash get to her in time? Can Prudence go through with Dean's plan? Is her Music career worth all the drama?

The Angst continues and the insecurities of both Prudence and Cash grows still preventing either of them from being honest about their feelings. Love this story and I am keen to see where the next book will take these gorgeous characters!

Light My Fire is the second in the Serenade series by Abby Reynolds. Once again, the misspellings and grammar got in my way of reading. It could have used another proofing. The characters are well developed in this book as well. The plot is easy to follow. It is told in alternating points of view with Prudence and Cash. Although I don’t particularly like this format, it works for this series.
Prudence has left Cash and her friends and has her own apartment and is trying to break into the music business on her own. However, that isn’t as important to her as making music is. Her apartment is what she can afford and it is a dump in a bad part of town. She is singing one night and a man approaches her much like Cash did earlier. He is Dean and he works for Capitol Records. He is interested in having her audition for a record. Once he finds out where she lives, he takes her to his house and lets her live there as she prepares for her audition. He is a widower who is still in love with his wife so has no bad intentions towards Prudence. Prudence is still in love with Cash yet hasn’t contacted him nor her brother.
Cash is trying to find her and flies to London to see her brother. Now he is back in the States and has hired a PI to find her. When he does find her, he finds she is living with someone else and lets her go as much as he can. He still loves her and wants her.
Now Immigration is after Prudence. She has no green card so must be deported back to London and it will take a year at least to get back to the US. Her music career will be ruined. Or, she can marry someone and immediately stay. What will she do?
Will Dean be able to help Pru? Will Cash ever find her?

I really liked the 1st one and this one didn't disappoint.
It starts right where "Under my Thumb" ended and the first few chapters show Pru and Case apart and how they are dealing with their fillings. I must say that I really liked Cash in this one and the way he was ready to do anything to find her and show her he loved her. During his search we have a glimpse of Pru's brother, Jeremie and I can not wait to ready his story. I liked him in the 1st one and I liked him even more on this one.
Pru on the other hand is determined to greave for the rest of her life for not having Cash's love and I must say I didn't not like or understand her logic very much. And Dean, I am a sucker for love at 1st sight but the quickness of how this friend relationship started with him, didn't not convince me. And I always don't really like when a third person (friend / lover) is in the middle. Even if he is the best person in the world, I never warm up to them.
Now I am starting the 3rd of the series to see when they will both start acting stupid and spit it out already.
One more comment, i think book 2 & 3 could easily be one book. Just saying!

I was so pleased I didn’t have to wait long for book 2. I really enjoyed the first book and this second book was equally enjoyable.
The book starts off exactly where book 1 ended. Cash has realises he loves Pru but is it too late? Pru has met producer Dean and her career looks set to take off. Pru becomes close friends after they bond over love lost. However just as it looks like Pru career is taking her she discovers her visa has run out and the only way to stay is to marry. But who will come to Pru’s aid?

As with the first I was quickly hooked it the book and didn’t want to put it down. The story is once again told from both Pru and Cash’s POV which really adds to the story. At times it was a very frustrating read I just wanted two people to talk to each other!!! There is plenty of drama again and I fell even more for Cash but I also loved Dean. The characters in the book are great. It was great to see more of Pru’s bother in this book too.

It does end on a slight cliff-hanger and I can’t wait to read the third book. Overall another great sexy, drama filled book.

This book had my stomach in knots. It was a quick read & I was rooting for Cash all the way & was a little pissed when Dean showed up. Dean is a record producer who catches one of Prudence's gigs at a small bar & offers to get her into the music business. At first I thought that Dean had pure intentions but as the story went on & immigration showed up at his house to inform Prudence that her time was up she needed to leave he started to change his tune towards her. Offering a marriage as friends only with the possibility of children to keep her in the country she is about to accept when she unexpectedly runs into Cash again & her feelings turn upside down again for him. When Cash finds out about the immigration he steps up & suggests it would be better for them to marry because they had a previous relationship & he wasn't her agent or manager like Dean was. She moves back to Cash's house & the two are both so stubborn & think the other isn't interested that they can't tell their true feelings & the people who know their true feelings have been sworn to secrecy. Will they ever get together for real & not pretend? Lets hope it happens in installment #3.

3.5 stars.

A sedated and thoughtful read.
this is the middle part of a love story: falling in love, doubt then cementation of love. it was the upsa and downs of a true love story plagued with doubt, fear and misunderstandings. Cash and Pru are apart out of their own stupidity for the better part of this book and Dean is introduced here as Pru's alternative love interested. I'm not a fan of love triangles and I was gritting my teeth when i hit this part. Cash who had been looking for Pru since the day she left him without so much as a goodbye finally finds her in Dean's house and decides to let her go since she's already moved on. but fate smiles down on him and he Pru is back in his life.
This book is about what they don't say and wait for it-- yes, another cliffhanger! But the ending left me hankering for book 3.

***I received an ARC for an honest review***

So I found I loved Cash even more in this book he is such a sweetheart!!! But I wanted to bang their heads together they are so frustrating! Obviously it wouldn't be half as good if they weren't so stubborn though so I found it easy enough to push the twinge of annoyance at them aside. I liked that you got to see the lives they were living whilst they were apart and that you saw more of Jeremy! I thought the way the story progressed was good and OMG that last chapter! Swooooon! I found this one more addictive than the first one I'm not sure why.... Maybe the more intense storyline where it's following on from the first book. I can't wait for more of this series it has taken its place as one of my favourites! I need to know how this is going to end! Thank you Abby Reynolds for a captivating series :D

This is the second installment in the serenade series and I have loved it. Cash and Prudence are still just as blind to how the other actually feels. This installment was an enjoyable read, although you do wanna bang their heads together and make them realise how they each feel. There isn't as much going on in this one, there's no heartbreak, not much angst but I do think there was parts to this second book that needed to be told to set you up for next part of it. Now it does finish with a cliffhanger in a sense again but it's not a huge cliffhanger. I'm very eager to read the final installment of this series, I want to see how things will finally work out. Plus Gavin rears his ugly head again, I didn't like nor trust him in the first book so I doubt I will like him in the next one too. Nice easy read on a Sunday afternoon, eagerly awaiting the next one. 4 stars.

After having read the first book and I was eager to see where the author would lead us with Light my Fire. Once again I was hooked from the moment I picked up my kindle and could not stop reading until I finished this book and order the third in this series.
I will admit there were times I just wanted to smack the ever loving crap out of Cash and Pru, but I guess that is one of the reasons I was unable to stop reading. These two characters are so annoying yet addicting. So many contradictions to pull off and the author hit it out of the park. I will begin book three tonight and rush through work tomorrow so that I can get home to finish that one as well. Just a hint: according to the blurb, Cash's ex will make a reappearance and she is one evil B**tch!

To enjoy this book, you have to read the first book, Under My Thumb. Pru is heartbroken but believes she did the right thing by Cash. Then she meets Dean. He is a wonderful guy and is the perfect person to help her because he understands her pain. So he helps her. He is her friend and helps her get a music deal. But because she has been so wrapped up her in her depression, she forgot to reapply for her Visa. And now Cash is back and still is afraid to tell her how her feels. Who will she marry new that both men have offered for her hand??

I do want to say this book is very emotional and no romance scenes. I loved it and can't wait to read the least book.

I am truly loving this story. Once again no sleep because I could not put this down once I downloaded it and got started!!! Yes Pru and Cash have issues and I wanted to just scream at times, it is understandable that they would both struggle with expressing their feelings of love. Dean has me more than a little concerned, I guess I'm just too attached to Cash! :) I do hope Pru stays true to herself and begins to trust her heart more, especially with her brother and Cash!!! I'm waiting and trying anxiously to see how this plays out. This story has great characters and I'm fully invested!!

I'm so happy that cash and prudence are once again reunited! I just wish that they would communicate better, but then we wouldn't have another book to look forward too.

I really enjoyed this book, even more so than the first one because it the storyline wasn't your typical romance and even though we're still getting stringed along, it's not in an annoying way. I'm rooting for cash and prudence and can't wait to read the next book.

The book was a quick read but it was well written and very enjoyable.

You need to read Under My Thumb before you read Light my Fire. I was eager to read the second installment and was happy that I did not have to wait long. Under My Thumb the characters come together. Light my Fire is their time apart from each other each longing to be together. Cash will do anything to get the girl and Prudence is running from her broken heart trying to heal. The book ends in another cliffhanger. Even though book #3 book continued where book #2 left off, I don’t feel that book #2 had enough story line to split as its own story.

After reading the first book in this series I was excited to get to the 2nd. I even spent more than I usually do on an ebook because I wanted to see the story through. However at about 50% I gave up, because the story stopped any forward momentum. It becomes all about the angst, and there is no telling the others how they feel, so the book really starts to drag. I knew there were 4 books in this series. But I don't want to read that many with the same events still happening.
So sorry I won't be finishing this book or series.

Light My Fire by Abby Reynolds is another terrific addition to the Serenade Series. Cash and Prudence have a whole host of new problems, but each has completely withdrawn, for different reasons. Then suddenly, immigration becomes an issue and everyone has a solution. I really enjoyed this second book, but the editing was tough to take. Between misspelled and incoherent paragraphs, it was just easier to skip some parts. But the story line and characters kept me turning pages.

WOW I liked the first book until the end and was desperate for this one.
I was not disappointed. My love of the characters grew with this book and once again I am left desperate for a HEA for them. Stubborn desperate fools who are so genuine and real I was kept on the edge the whole book just waiting for their moment. A quick read but a good one. Can't wait for book 3!!

Wow again I haven't been disappointed. This series has so many twists and turns. Expect the unexpected. Frustrating at times because of wanting certain happenings to work out.
Both Pru and Cash are so stubborn and don't communicate very well. I'm sure Jeremy could provide another book in this series.

Interesting can't wait to read the next book.

I knew a lot of the book would be spent with Cash and Prudence apart but my goodness, do you think these could learn the word communication?!

There were a lot more spelling errors in this book than in book 1 even though the price of the book had increased threefold. Not really acceptable.
