Violet comes back to Denver to live near her brother until her new job starts in a few months. In the meantime, her brother gets her a job as a nanny for one of his teammates…that she also had a major crush on. They try and epically fail to resist their chemistry and agree to be exclusive until she leaves for her new job in a few months.
I was so excited for Sawyers story from the first time he was mentioned in the series. Seeing him as a father and watching his relationship with his son was truly heartwarming. It also made the feelings between Sawyer and Violet even stronger as they watched each other interact with Jake (his son).
It's definitely a spicy story but had the least number of spicy scenes out of all the books in the series so far. But the scenes that were there were DEFINITELY spicy.
I love how the characters from previous books are brought in throughout. We get to see what their lives are like after their story is "over", while having the main focus being on Violet and Sawyer's story.
Lawson's stories tend to have a heart wrenching twist near the end of the story, and this did not disappoint. You will feel all the feels before the HEA.

Some of my favorite quotes:
"I know because I can't seem to stop noticing things about her. I can't seem to stop my gaze from finding its way to her whenever we're in the same room. Can't seem to keep myself from cataloguing all of her quirks and habits, as if there's going to be a test on all things Violet Sutton one day and I'm determined to ace it." Sawyer, 67.
"Sawyer: Well I went out tonight with the most gorgeous woman I've ever met. The problem is…she wasn't my date." Sawyer, 211.
"The way he talks about me, as if I'm the antidote to the pain he's feeling, makes something protective and possessive flare in my chest." Violet, 259.
"It bothered you?' he asks quietly, his eyes bouncing between mine. 'Seeing me with another woman?' Even hearing him say that bothers me, and although he just explained who she is, the irrational rush of jealousy shoots through me all over again at the memory of her standing so close to him, the way her hand rested on his arm. 'Yes' I say, frustration making my voice harsh. 'It bothered me, okay? I'm sorry! I shouldn't care either way! It doesn't matter. What's happening between us is noth-' Sawyer's grip on my chin tightens suddenly, and I break off mid-word. His blazing eyes hold mine as he takes another step closer, so close that our chests are nearly toughing. 'Go ahead,' he demands, and this time, it's his voice that's strained. 'Say it's nothing. I dare you." Sawyer and Violet, 301
" I know she's not interested in him in the least, and as far as I know, he's not interested in anybody-but still, it activates some primal, possessive part of my brain that never even seemed to exist until I met Violet." Sawyer, 337
"I'm not done," I whisper against her lips. "I'll never be finished with you, Violet Sutton." Sawyer, 423.
