What happens when you win the town’s grumpiest orc?
Posy is brand new to Fairhaven Falls, but she’s determined to find her place in the charming small town—even if it means participating in an unusual bachelor auction. But she certainly doesn’t expect to end up bidding on the mysterious orc who everyone seems to avoid.
Varek has lived in the woods outside Fairhaven Falls for years, convinced he’s unwelcome among its residents. But when his meddling godmother ropes him into the bachelor auction, he reluctantly agrees—if only to get her off his back. Winning a blind date with an adorable little female wasn’t in his plans, nor was the undeniable spark between them.
As Posy and Varek navigate awkward dates, unexpected chemistry, and the secrets that keep Varek in the shadows, can Posy convince him that he’s not as unwanted as he believes? And can Varek show Posy that sometimes the biggest… hearts are found in the most unexpected places?
Welcome to Fairhaven Falls, where love isn’t just blind—it’s monstrous, magical, and utterly irresistible.
Each book in the Fairhaven Falls series can be read as a standalone. This sweet and steamy small town romance is intended for mature readers.
Another wonderful, fun romance in Fairhaven Falls! Great world building and I loved both Posy and Varek. Divorced and new to town, Posy runs a thrift shop (one I'd LOVE to visit!) and has no interest in a new relationship. But the ladies convince her the charity auction is more about community and getting to know people than anything else.
Varek lives alone away from others in his cabin in the woods. His godmother [forcibly] convinces him to join the Valentine's Bachelor Auction to get him out of his self-imposed exile.
“The woods don’t judge,” he muttered. “The woods don’t love either. And you deserve that, whether you believe it or not... But you’re going. Even if I have to march down here with my entire knitting circle and drag you there myself.” Since the average age of her knitting circle was well above seventy, the mental image of Flora and her gaggle of friends— human and Other alike— trying to budge his seven-foot body almost made him smile. Almost. “Half those ladies would break a hip.”
Flora is the best!! And the auction was a lot of fun... but my heart broke for Varek standing on a stage he didn't want to be in and wasn't only somewhat unwelcome, but no one bid on him. Posy couldn't bare it, found her courage and bid all she had on him. Varek is exactly the type of male lead I'm most drawn to. Walls up to hide his fear and loneliness, thinking himself a monster and isolated. Posy was so sweet and understanding with him. Recognized the vulnerability in him that she experienced when her husband divorced her and flashed his new fiancé around the same day.
I couldn't get enough of these two and I was hooked. 5 stars.
Fairhaven Falls is always my favorite place to visit and Bidding on the Orc reaffirms why I enjoy reading the author’s stories set in this wonderful small town. Posy who is new to Fairhaven has just opened up her thrift shop Second Chance and is determined It will be for her as well as the aptly named shop. When she receives a visit from two council members Flora and Gladys handing out Valentine flyers for a bachelor auction, she hesitates agreeing to attend as her emotional wounds from her divorce are still fresh and painful. This will definitely be out of her comfort zone but she does want to get to know her neighbors, and just maybe have some fun for a change. Flora manages to rope her godson Varek into participating in the event much to his dismay, and I can definitely feel some matchmaking going on here! Loved the humor winding it’s way through a delightfully written Orc/human romance with spice, emotion, sweetness, friendships, family dynamics, and where those personal vulnerabilities get kicked to the curb when love comes a calling. I was Team Varek and Posy all the way! A very enjoyable story with engaging characters and a wonderful narrative that finds its way into the heart…as always.

We're back in Fairhaven Falls with the meddling firecracker Flora and her matchmaking shenanigans. Which means this loner orc and the new human lady in town are destined to find their HEA. Because, you know, Flora's never wrong.
So. Posy's new to town and she's digging on the friendly supernatural vibe. Enough that she can't say no when Flora ropes her into coming to the bachelor auction. She didn't mean to bid on the awkward orc hottie, but sometimes THINGS HAPPEN. And now she has a blind date with an orc who has some pretty hermit-like tendencies.
On Varek's end, he's...well, he's convinced himself that he's happy being alone and no one in town would want him even if he did make the effort. Agreeing to the bachelor auction might be the biggest mistake he's made lately, but it's better than dealing with Flora's disappointment. Now he has a blind date with a lady who looks at him without suspicion and he's realizing he might have a chance at happiness if he could just get out of his head.
A little run-in with a bully, a whole lot of plants, a meddling godmother, a male with a soft heart who needs to learn to trust again, and a lady who sees all the good in her blind date and is willing to fight for him. *thumbs up*
This is another fun addition to the Fairhaven Falls series as well as the Sweet Monsters Treats series. I really enjoyed getting to know Posy and Varek better in this story after their very brief introduction in Wedding for My Werewolf and thought they made a nice couple. It was also nice to see some of the characters from previous books in this series of connected standalone books. The epilogue was really cute and I am looking forward to reading Kiss for My Kraken: A Cozy Monster Romance and getting to know Sam and Nina better.

Acceptance, respect and not turning people away are the backbone of this book.
Varek has been alone so long it's all he knows. He tried to help someone and it turned out badly, now he lives alone and never goes to town. Posy is also looking for a fresh start. When she wins Varek at a bachelor auction both of their worlds change. She helps him learn to trust again, and realize he is more a part of Fairhaven Falls than he realized.
Varek was someone I really related to. Lonely, no friends, never thinking anyone would love him. He had so much talent, so much to give, but he was afraid how people would see him. It took Posy to open his eyes to what was possible.
Posy owned a vintage shop ( that I would love to spend the day exploring) and was building a fresh start. When she met Varek, they connected deeply. It took a little while for her to help him out of his shell, but it was worth it.
I love the cameos from other characters. In this book in particular I loved seeing Sam. I can't wait for his book. This series is so sweet and fun.

Another fantastic read from the cosey town of Fairhaven Falls !!! In this book, Posy is the newest female in town. Having gone through a bad situation, she thinks that this scenic town will give her a fresh start. Seeing the previous books characters is an added bonus as everyone in the little town knows everyone else's business. On this particular day , as Posy is opening her antique store, Flora comes in and gets her to come to the charity event where U bid for a date. Posy doesn't really know anyone, so why not ?? Varek, is a very isolated Orc, who lives on the outskirts of town. He feels as the community doesn't care for him, but he can't resist the cute little human who has bid on him. HIM !!! As these two get together with some help from the town, things become clear for them both !!! I Always enjoy the easy , breezy stories !!! Can't wait for the next 1 !!
Posy moved to Fairhaven for a second chance after her divorce. Having bought the thrift store Whimsical Wonders, she changes the name to reflect this as well as being a play on the vintage and pre-loved items in the shop. Varek has isolated himself away from the town ever since an incident in his troubled teenage years left him thinking he was ostracized. With Flora as his godmother though, you just know a lonely existence isn’t what his future holds. I liked how Posy believed in changing her life and insisted on getting her winning date with Varek and took control of initiating kisses. I loved how previous characters appear to show Varek that he is welcomed and loved. Although Nina and Sam are the next story, I hope we will see Gladys and Jeremiah have their own book sometime.
Another Fairhaven Falls series winner!! Sometimes you just need a second chance to be loved with a little help 😉 from Flora and Gladys. Heartwarming and sweet with steam (piercings 🤩) and some sadness over their pasts. Posy, a human, is new to Fairhaven falls and just opened a new store. She is recovering from a divorce and she her inner strength really spoke to me . Varek, an enormous Orc with a heart of gold and an unfair reputation, is strong armed into a bachelor auction and Posy bids on him (just like Andie McDowell and Bill Murray in one of my favorite movies, Groundhog Day😁). I am so ready for Sam’s story!!!.

Please, please, please can't there be a Fairhaven Falls? Please?! Posy and Varek are so wonderful. I want to tuck Varek in pocket to keep him safe from all hurt..of course they have Flora for that but still. There is so much about this that I love starting with Posy who has moved to Fairhaven Falls for a second chance (the name of her thrift store) and she arrived with an open heart and a beautiful spirit. Varek is in hiding from a bad experience in the past and can't believe anyone would want him. Flora to the rescue! I adore these sweet monster romances that are filled with a sweetness to match the steam. Characters who are warm and 3 dimensional. Stories that leave me warm and happy. Wonderful!
Honey Phillip’s Bidding for the Orc Outcast is a Fair haven Falls book. After a failed marriage, Posy has moved to Fairhaven where humans and various others live in harmony. There she opens a vintage store which allows her to follow her passion for vintage clothing, jewelry and furniture in her store called Second Chance. Flora is the town elderly lady who loves to make matches so she enlists Posy to bid on one of the local bachelors, one of whom is Varek. Varek has been a recluse for ten years after he was blamed for attacking a known bully. Now he agrees to be auctioned off, and Posy claims him as she sees he’s broken as she once was. Follow their cute courtship as they both learn to take a second chance at love.
I loved Varek & Posy together. He was a lonely, hurting male with walls build around his heart due to being hurt in the past until her gives in to the love of Posy. Posy is starting a new life after her divorce & is ready for change. She isn’t looking for love, but finds it nonetheless. They have help meeting each other & then Posy helps Varek eventually see that he is worthy of love. There’s a lot of angst at the beginning, but we are left with a steamy, satisfying HEA. I love Honey Phillips’ stories. They are fun page-turners that make you want to come back for more. I can’t wait for the next one.

This is a super sweet and fun monster romance! It’s part of Fairhaven Falls and the multi-author Sweet Monster Treats series, but it can easily be read as a standalone in any order.
Posy, the human FMC, is new to Fairhaven Falls and is setting up her adorably named Second Chance thrift store. She gets talked into attending the town auction, and ends up bidding on Varek, the reclusive orc MMC.
This is a cozy, small-town monster romance with fairly low stakes and a moderate level of spice.
A fun, quick, and easy read. I always enjoy these Hallmark movie style monster romances in both of these series and look forward to the next ones!
Spice: 4/5 Plot:4/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4/5
Posy comes to Fairhaven Falls for a new beginning. After her husband’s betrayal and their divorce, she buys the thrift store and remakes it into her own, Second Chance. And she might just be ready to give love a second chance when she ends up bidding on an attractive Orc. Varek is one of the Orcs in town, a rather reclusive one, whose business is herbs and the oils he makes from them. Ten years ago something happened that tarnished his reputation and he’s felt himself unwelcome in town ever since. But when his godmother, Flora, guilts him into participating in the annual charity bachelor auction. When he’s actually bid on, he doesn’t know how to deal and runs back to his cabin in the woods and away from the beautiful human female who won him.
Another wonderful story for healing wounds of the past and finding love. I liked the determination of Posy. She saw what others saw but was able to get through the doubt and hurt of Varek. Second chance shop is Posy's second chance. Loved her compassion. Of course Flora has her fingers in matchmaking again. I liked how with Posy's help Varek was able to face his past and move on. POV of each advancing the story. Steam to the eventual romance and as also Flora does it again with a wonderful HEA for them. Love her emblazoned tracksuits. Can't wait to see who Flora has in her sights next.

I love Fairhaven Falls. And this story just added so much to it. It truly tugged at my heart strings. Varek is such a scarred, lonely orc and Posy knows those feelings all too well. Understands betrayal and what it does to you. I love how she was able to connect with Varek and feel for him. I love how she didn’t give up on him but had boundaries for him. And I love how Varek was able to see that what he thought of for years, may not be what actually was correct. This was a beautiful story about letting the past not define us.
I did receive an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest opinion.
This series is one of my favorites. I so wish I could live in Fairhaven Falls. The world building, from the beginning of the series, is well-done. In this installment, Flora's meddling has put Varek and Posy together. starting with a bachelor's auction. Posy is starting over in Fairhaven Falls, and Varek is the outcast due to something that happened 10 years ago. I loved seeing their romance come together, and for things to show they weren't what they seemed. This is a standalone, but you should just really start from the beginning because it makes more sense. Also, you will love all the other stories and the town of Fairhaven Falls!
Posy is the new owner of a second hand vintage store. She is also looking for a second chance in Fairhaven Falls. She is lovingly pressured into attending a bachelor bidding event where she bids on Varek because one, she is drawn to him and two, because no one else is and it is getting tense.
Varek had an incident as a youth, one where he thinks the town hates him. Now on a self imposed exile, he is somewhat lovingly guilted into being a bachelor to be bid on for a. animal charity.
Posy works her way into this gruff Orcs heart. This is a sweet (over too quick) cozy spicy romance. I absolutely adore this world and the town. Can't wait to read more!
This orc is a worthy male, for sure! This big, grouchy, loner orc turns out to be a big ol’ teddy bear - with the right woman. And Posy hits the spot for Varek! I love that Posy is strong enough to hang in there while Varek is being indecisive. It would be easy to feel rejected, but persistence pays off. I love this story, and this whole series. Flora and Gladys are always a highlight for me. And, I keep finding more people here whose stories I want to discover. Fine reading - please, keep them coming!
Honey Phillips' Bidding on the Orc Outcast is such a charming, fluffy romance. I recently discovered her works and now consider her to be one of my favorite authors. I've read every one of her Fairhaven Falls novels, and this one is equally as good as the others. I finished reading this book all at once. I adore Posy and Varek's story. How Varek overcame his past with Posy's help. (And let's not forget Flora) I'm eager to read Honey Phillips' next novel because she has a talent for enticing folks to Fairhaven Falls!
Fairhaven falls is definitely the place to be, where everyone knows your name and your business.
Everyone deserves a second chance and thankfully Posy and Varek get theirs. Though each has suffered in their own way. A new beginning is around the corner 💜
Flora forever the matchmaker is a wise female who brings happiness to those whose hearts she touches.
An amazing story with unbelievably passionate characters who see the worth in and of others .

Posey was a great character, with a sadly common story with most women. Having a cheating husband who knocks up his assistant, when he didn't want kids with her. It was meant to be though since her divorce settlement got her money to buy her second hand shop, in Fairhaven. Varrick was running from a past that really never happened, and how it all comes together is a wonderful, and sweet story. I loved how she is just perfect for him and he was definitely the right choice for her!
I have really been enjoying all of the Fairhaven Falls series, but I have to say that so far Posy and Varek’s story is my favorite. Varek is convinced that he is unwelcome in the town but Flora sees the true heart of her godson and wants him to be happy, so of course she has a plan up her sleeve. Sweet little human who is new to town, grumpy orc, what could go wrong? Bidding on the Orc Outcast can be read as a stand-alone, but I suggest reading the whole series to get to really know the town and all of its residents.
I just love FairHaven Falls and this book was no exception Varek and Posy are a Wonderful Couple and their story is so beautiful.this has been a treat getting two FairHaven books so close together.i know I’ll be reading this book again just like all the others in the series because they are feel good books.only one thing I wish could happen is that theses FairHaven books could stack with the whole series instead of stacking where they are intended to be with the other series
Varek is the outcast orc in the woods. He had a misunderstanding as a teen and then ran to hide on his family land. As we get more details and insight we find out so much. Like most in this town we know the story we get and the real town underneath it are different perspectives. It will take not only little Flora Varek’s godmother but also newcomer Posey to see what he missed all those years ago.
Ever thankful hen I can grab an Arc off this author. Her books have always been such great reads and this did not disappoint. :D This is another book in the Sweet Monster treats series, and we have Posy and Varek. She's new to Fairhaven Falls and she ends up winning a bid at the bachelor auction. It was lovely seeing these two get over the issues they felt were against them. And always enjoy a meddling godmother. :D I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow! Flora has done it again! I couldn’t wait to get off work so I could start this book. A lonely reclusive Orc, hiding from his past and a lonely divorcee hoping for a new start. It takes the magic of Fairhaven Falls and a matchmaking godmother to pull these two into a future together. With plenty of angst, instant attraction and emotional baggage, it all comes together for a wonderful conclusion.I loved it! Will Sam and Nina be next?
