Kieran, created to be the ultimate a level-three Shareem, is paired with an unlikely heroine. Felice, fleeing from years of slavery finds herself rescued by a man who claims to be a slave himself. Kieran seems to be two people rolled into one--the laid-back, nothing-bugs-him hunk, and the dark-voiced, commanding level three. Felice finds herself pulled into his world, where the two of them must work to free all the Shareem, forever.

This book basically concludes the tales of the Shareem, when all the characters from the previous books are about to escape Bor Narga to freedom. Thus, we will see all the Shareem characters from the previous books and also their girls. Their relationships have definitely developed and matured.
We will also meet Kieran, a Level 3 Shareem who was deeply scared by the experiments conducted upon him by the company. Parts of his brain were removed in order to make him more compliant and now Kieran behaves like he has two different personalities.
As I said, this book concludes the available stories, but there are indications that there could be more. I certainly hope so...
Book 7 of Tales of the Shareem. Kieran is a new character, a level-three Shareem, who walked into my head and demanded a story. I couldn't say no... Pub date June 9, 2014.
I first bought these books individually in spring of 2013 from Barnes & Noble. They had been published through Ellora’s Cave at the time. The stories were compelling but the editing was atrocious. Flash forward to December of 2016 and I received a promotional message in my Facebook feed regarding this author’s books. I made a comment about the books in that feed and the author took the time to respond. She told me that she had gotten the rights to the books back from Ellora’s Cave, had them re-edited and then re-released them. She even had one more book added to the series to provide closure to it. I then purchased them all from Amazon. I was so glad that I did. I missed my Shareem. I reread their stories as well as Kieran’s from December 12 through January 1, 2017. I LOVED these stories about the Shareem. The Shareem were made to be all things to all women, to live to please, and to have no emotions, but the scientists that created them failed on that part. The Shareem come in three levels: pure sensuality, fun and games, and the ultimate experience. What I liked about the characters was that the men were HOT, sexy, loving and totally protective of their women. The women were beautiful and intelligent but not physically perfect according to our society’s standards. They were zaftig. Also I liked that the author didn’t use clinical and "clean" words to describe the sex scenes. Because I had read the books back to back the amount of sex became overwhelming. Who would have thought? The only thing I would change about the books is that they would be longer. I loved being in the world Ms. Ashley has created for the Shareem. You can feel the hot, dusty climate and taste the grit of the sandstorms. You can envision the people in their robes moving through the open air markets. You could sense the tranquility inside the homes of the rich as they are sheltered in rooms of cool moist air. The stories are told in alternating POV’s of the H/h and have just the right mix of angst, lust, love and humor. Each story has its own HEA within the overall arc of the series. Book 7 of Tales of the Shareem. Kieran is a new character, a level-three Shareem, who walked into my head and demanded a story. I couldn't say no... Pub date June 9, 2014.
KIERAN is the seventh book in the Tales of the Shareem series. The series tells the stories of a group of men (and one woman) who were genetically engineered to be sold as pleasure slaves. The company that created them is defunct but the Shareem are still treated as second class citizens over twenty years later. The people of their home planet fear them because they worry that they will make women sexually subservient to them. The people on Bor Nargan instead value chastity and suppression of physical desires.
The previous books in this series introduced readers to these sexy men who come in the varieties: Level 1 (sensuality), Level 2 (fun and games), and Level 3 (hardcore domination). Within those levels, the Shareem are different and have different personalities based upon their experiences.
Kieran is a Level 3 who was deeply scared by the experiments conducted upon him by the company. They wanted to make him a mindless pleasure slave and removed pieces of his brain in order to make him like a sex robot with no other thoughts or feelings. Kieran meets Felice Henderson when both are hiding from the patrollers (Bor Nargan's police force). Felice is an indentured servant who had escaped her near slavery to hide on Bor Nargan.
The quickly developing romance between these two is sweet because Felice sees things in Kieran that he believed had been taken from him and as a result he begins to see himself differently. In many ways, the two heal each other from the pain of their past. This is one of the sweetest stories of the series because Kieran is so loveable. At the same time both these characters are strong and competent.
Unlike other books in the series, this book is highly focused on the overarching storyline of the series -- the plan of the Shareem to escape from Bor Nargan in order to be free. This book completes that arc. I especially liked how the ultimate resolution occurred and how it was dependant upon the people that readers have been introduced to throughout the series.
The Shareem books are erotic science fiction and contain more gritty, graphic and erotic sex scenes than a typical romance book. As the series has progressed, the relationships between the Shareem and the women they come to love have gotten more complex and exhibit more of the typical romance that appears in the books that Jennifer Ashley writes under her own name (Allyson James is one of her pseudonyms, Ashley Gardner is the other). This book does not contain any menage a trois scenes that are present in most of the other books in the series. The sex scenes are more graphic than your typical romance so readers who are sensitive to such should be forewarned.
I rate this one a 4.5 primarily based on the strength of the overarching story and the fact that this book nicely ties things up. This is not the book for new readers because it is dependant on upon all that has occurred before.
There is a lengthy author's note at the end that goes through the author's thoughts on the series and indicates that while this book concludes this arc, there are possibilities for new stories.
I enjoyed this more than most of this series. I didn't quite buy that these guy were in love--that's part of the problem, the books are so short and so generally sex-heavy that it's not believable that they love one another. Unless you're someone who equates love and sex--and I'm sorry, but I punched that card too long ago to believe that, ya dig?
Anyway, this actually had independent plot besides the typical Shareem tale--which if you've read the rest it's "meet, dominate, sexytimes, thin plot usually revolving around family/societal pressures.
The hero was great, if a bit ... like I couldn't tell if he was SAYING he wasn't stupid (i.e., forcibly made MR in some manner) but while actually being a bit on the MR scale despite his protestations, or if he was really just generally subdued compared to the other Shareem. The distinction there wasn't very well-described, in my opinion. Like, readers have to be induced to believe, they can't just be shown. Anyway, his IQ really doesn't matter much. He was sweet. I liked him.
You know what character I've never really been fond of, except in his self-named book? Rees. Rees is just sort of a douchebag in all the subsequent books. He's not even that nice in his own book. And despite that "turning his face to Talan, it was transformed to a look of tenderness," (paraphrasing) if he's a douche the other 99% he has lines, he's just a douche. I get him when he's fighting, I get him when he's fucking, but otherwise, he's just another jerk. I don't know why you'd elect the head douche to be the leader of your cadre. But whatever, I don't think with my dick so maybe that's the difference.
Anyway, it was a nice ending to the series, or to this part of the series. If they ever got bound together, Tolkien-style, this would be the first book. Totally the Fellowship of the Cock Ring.
I'd really like to see a monogamous level one story. I don't think I got nearly enough Aiden in the Aiden-Ky story. Anyway, fwiw, that's my wish-list.
This book is AMAZING! I hope we will get more in this series. This book not only follows the Kieran and his feisty fighter it shows a whole picture. You may say what??? Well let me explain. In this book we get updates on the previous Shareem and their women. We got to see some truths we were not aware of. We get action, hotness, and it made me cry as well. This skies has been amazing from the start and this book was no different. I hope we get more books of the Shareem.
A happy Shareem follower. I have read all the Shareem books and enjoyed Kieran's story. I was very happy to read in this story the evolvement of their lives to something more than the horrible lives they had when we first met them in Rees. It will be wonderful if more stories evolve but all in all a good conclusion (maybe) to this series. Read this series quite a few times and have reviewed previously. Even though it is quite sexually erotic, it just haves something going for it that I cannot resist.
"Kieran" by Allyson James. Book 7 in the Tales of the Shareem series.
I liked this book. Personally, I don't think it was as good as all the others, but still a pretty good book. A sci-fi erotica romance about a level three Shareem named Kieran and human woman from Old Earth named Felice.
Kieran is a Shareem but he's not like the others. Of all of them, Kieran has the least amount of feelings because of what genetic engineers at DNAmo did to him to make him the "perfect" sex toy. He may not understand all the feelings he's having toward Felice but he's not stupid. He knows something is happening between them because he's following his programming like he's supposed to. He can't stop thinking about her and he never wants to let her go.
Felice can't believe she's finally escaped from servitude. But now she's a wanted woman with a price on her head. The last thing she expected was to be hiding out with a man she just met. The sexual attraction between them is undeniable. When she learns what Kieran really is and what him and his friends are going through, she has to help him. Even if it means leaving him.
This book ends the overall series story arc of the Shareem trying to leave Bor Narga. No new Shareem are introduced but we are told more do exist. I found this book more on the romantic side than the erotic side. Still erotic with m/f sex (no menages) and bondage play but not as erotic as the previous books. I gave this book 3 stars but the last 25% of the book I would give 4 stars because it was very exciting and action packed.
I know that there is one more novella after this book (it's actually a prequel to the series about two characters that were introduced during the series) and I'm not sure if there will be any more Shareem tales. I've read the author said possibly. Well, if there are more books to this series, I will definitely be reading them. I really enjoyed this series as a whole.
Allyson James has written a fantastic “ending” to The Tales of Shareem series. Well, it is an ending to the main storyline that has been going on through all of the books, here’s hoping that we still get more books! I would love to get updates on all of these couples! (I don’t want to say more as I don’t want to spoil anything for you!!!!) This book is about Kieran and Felice. Kieran is a level 3 Shareem and was very cruelly experimented on during his life with the scientists at DNAmo – they tried to take out his thoughts, emotions and personal thought processes out so that he would be the ultimate sex driven level 3 with nothing else to get in the way. Kieran is treated by most everyone as if he is slow or “stupid” (Kieran’s own words) which translates to Kieran not really being trusted by his own friends! He meets up with Felice at the start of the book and she is the perfect mate for him!!!! Felice is not from Bor Narga, so she is not familiar with their customs, laws – for the most part – or what a Shareem even is. So when she meets Kieran, she sees him for who he is, not with a preconceived image to judge him by. Of course, sparks fly, missions are completed, fights happen and great sex goes on and on and on…*sigh* Oh I wish I could be there! (insert naughty grin here). Allyson sure knows how to mix a great sci-fi storyline with great erotic elements!! The Tales of the Shareem is a series worthy of being on the “keeper” shelf.
A great not-really end, and a beginning for the next Shareems (and hopefully Judith and Mitch) to tell their own stories of adventure, hot-as-hell, steam-up-the-bed, Level One to three scenes, and their journey of finding their lifemates and, along the way, theirselves.
Though Kieran was a real sweetie, I think he should've been a Level One, since he could suppress his baser Level Three tendencies. I also noticed how their wasn't much Level Three scenes to find in this book (sadly), showing how "screwed-up" he was, having like deviating from he was really made as, to acting like a different level on his own and listening to his baser urges and instincts.
Overall, a great "ending" for the Shareem known throughout the series, and a great opening for the ones not known yet as they set on their new journeys through space, probably populating the galaxies with Shareem with their unrestrained libidos and virile physiques.
I'm glad to say that they already found their way out of that racist planet. I understand the concept originated from back in history where men sold their own wives for mundane and sometimes outrageous reasons, but the series showed that no matter how much we suppress out instincts, it can always resurface and certainly cannot be subdued for long before exploding like the Fourth of July.

Well this book just popped to save the day, a title I had previously chosen to fit the above categories fell thru due a release date change. I had no I idea this title was coming down the pike, what great surprise to come across it yesterday. This series is one of my all time favorites, after reading this latest installment I'm seriously thinking about going back and rereading all the previous books.
I very much enjoyed this latest installment, I'm all happy & warm inside now. :) We got a peek into the lives at some of the previous couples and brief revisits with favorite supporting characters.
Our new couple had some challenges, as did the Shareem as a whole. The ride to untangle difficulties and over come new hurdles was just right for me. We got to watch our latest Shareem discover more about himself then he sometimes new what to do with. Our heroine had to relearn how to trust again and let herself heal enough to use her gifts that had gone dormant due to circumstances.
Would recommend catching up on the series, even though the story stands on it's own. Clearly, but not too redundantly, the world and politics of this book universe are described through out.
Kieran(Tales of the Shareem Book 7)By Allyson w,Jennifer Ashley
WOW,it's been a long wait but I'm telling you it was worth the wait. Kieran's story was absolutely amazing addition to the series. It reunites with previous shareem, their loving diverse group of females and their struggles for true freedom from a planet where they were created by scientists. Together they find out with these caring women who give them something to fight harder to attain their HEA. This was just as amazingly sensuous journey as each of the previous books. If you haven't already read the books in the series ...don't miss out!!! I'm recommending that you grab this fantastic series and enjoy!!
Kieran was disappointing when you compare it to the earlier books in the series. We are told Kieran is the ultimate Level 3. We are never shown this. The sex scenes were tame compared to the earlier books like Rees, Rio, and Calder.
The romance and steam suffered in this book because the focus was on finding spaceships to escape the planet. The hero and heroine were separate a lot of the time and when they were together, it was forgettable.
I highly recommend the earlier books in the series like Rees, Rio, and Calder. Sadly, Kieran felt rushed and like the author was just going through the motions.
I love this author, whether she's writing as Allyson James or Jennifer Ashley - both are on my 'must buy' list. I especially love this series, Tales of the Shareem.
Kieran was well worth the wait (and I feel I waited a very long time!). Wonderful story. I love how she breathes substance into all her characters. I look forward to #8.
Kieran - a brain damaged Level Three Shareem on a distant planet where Shareem are treated as barely tolerable, falls in love with Felice, a woman from Old Earth. Danger and intrigue as the Shareem strive to make a break from the slavery of their planet...and lots of hot sex, and humor.
I loved Kieran, this was a very sweet, passionate book to read but also very hot and kinky.
I prefer the first books on the series, but that usually happens after several books.
My main issue with this book is that the h/H are under developed and therefore their love story feels lukewarm. I couldn't get too interested on the erotic scenes, because I was missing this connection with both characters. I understand, that this is logical because so many dots from the previous stories were being connected. And I am glad the shareems finally achieved their freedom, but the h/H's story suffered because of it.
Kieran is suppose to be the slowest mentally of the Shareem...not true. He is a dependable, fierce and loyal friend. Felice is an indentured slave who escaped with Kieran's help. These two are fighters not as much for themselves but for others. In this story Shareem are finally trying to get off of that God forsaken place. Everything is happening to block the. This is the finality I hope that works out for all of my guys. Enjoy I did. This is a re-read for me.
It's been such a pleasure to catch up with the Shareem and their ladies again. My heart went out to Kieran, he was so much more than just a level three. It took a special lady to see beyond the Shareem and to see the person he was. They met quite by accident, Felice was in hiding, having made her escape from slavery, Kieran helps her and their story begins. Thank you Allyson James, so glad to hear that although this story arc came to an end, there are many more story possibilities to come.
I so enjoyed Kieran. He's so sweet and protective of Felice. He sees himself as damaged beyond redemption. Felice sees so much more; she sees his kindness, generosity and he makes her feel safe. She looks at the whole man and loves all of him. The ending is wonderful and left me with such hope for the future of all the shareem. Highly recommended author and series Adult read
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, and although I am sorry to see it come to an end, I am happy to see come to a satisfying end.
Even though a level three Shareem, Kieran is just a little different. He fights for he and his lady, and together, the work to free the Shareem. Of course, the sex is smokin' hot, and we get to see all the Shareems we've grown to love in previous books.
Disappointing. Kieran as an alpha was too Chewbacca when, like Rees, Rio, Calder, etc. he needed to be a bit more...Vader! Appreciated no stupid 3way scene thrown in thank gosh but felt too much like a throw away, wrap up the core series with the side kick guy. Don't like my Shareem so...sweet.
Wholy hotness catwoman.. this last Shareem is awesome alittle more low-key then the others. But still sweet and sexy in his own right. Nice finish if this is the last or the start to another not sure..
Loved the characters and the story line. It was interesting to see how Allyson James closed out this story arc but still left it open for more in the future. Well worth a read for lovers of this series.
I liked this story just as much as the other ones. Also, you get a bonus from the author. She tells how she came up with the Shareem series, which normally you don't get from authors.
Hopefully, Allyson will want to tell more stories in this series, in the future.
I loved the titular characters. He was so sweet, adorable, dominant, and just all around fun to read about. His woman wasn't too bad either. She had some moments where she was stubborn but I felt she was probably one of the most well-rounded female characters in this book. Great denouement.
This was an okay read. Maybe I need to read some the earlier books because I found it hard to really get lost in the storyline. Maybe if I knew the other characters' background I'd feel differently. I may read Rees' story and see if that inspires me to read the others in the series.
