He wants modern. She wants tradition. Their legally-binding shared window display means they're stuck with each other.
The historic Morgan & Son shop in Winterberry Hollow has always been famous for its Christmas window display, complete with Tom Morgan's beloved model train making its journey through a miniature winter wonderland. But when prodigal son James returns with plans to modernize the space, he discovers a complicated his late sister's best friend, Emma Greene, owns half the building—and their legally-binding shared window display is non-negotiable.
Emma's candle shop has thrived for ten years, her seasonal displays becoming as much a part of Winterberry's tradition as the train itself. Now, as James pushes for sleek modernization and Emma fights to preserve the magic they've always created together, they're forced to find middle ground. With James's niece Sophie competing for Festival Princess and the whole town invested in their window's fate, what starts as a battle over retail space becomes something much more personal.
Through late-night planning sessions, candlemaking lessons, and a young girl's belief in Christmas miracles, James and Emma discover that the perfect window display might just be one that bridges past and present—assuming they can agree on anything besides the proper ratio of butter to popcorn during their increasingly cozy negotiation sessions.
A heartwarming small-town Christmas romance about finding common ground, honoring the past, and falling for the one person you're supposed to be fighting with.

This is a wonderful story about a town filled with Christmas spirit. It almost seemed that Christmas was all year with the planning, drinking of cocoa, popping corn and finding a Christmas Princess. Sophie was the charmer of the story. She is a young girl that is all about family, friends and happiness. Her idea is to have everyone as happy about the holiday as she is. The making of candles, wooden stars with glitter and watching trains go round and round with lights aglow, is part of the fun. She draws everyone in to be part of the happiness. Great writing!
I loved the story. Love has a way of making magic happen. The sense of tradition in a small town and its magical happenings. Anyone who loves romance would love this story.
Filled with light and promise. Sophie is the star and the momentum behind the story. I have five granddaughters and I can see Sophie in every one of them . Also clean and wholesome.
This was even better than the first one! What a great cast of characters in a really neat town! As the sister, aunt and great aunt of a lot of rodeo queens this story was special!
In Book 2, Sophie is pure magic. She loves jotting down her thoughts in her notebook, saving them for later. This young lady has it all together and is uniting everyone around her. In the end, everyone discovers that Christmas truly is magical. Loved it!
Love this series! Can’t wait to read the next one for Christmas 2026. Everyone needs a Sophie in their lives. What sweet, uplifting, cozy stories. Perfect for the season with a cup of hot cocoa.
There is something strange about chapter 26. Sophie and Ben, who are supposedly in Tom's living room suddenly come in the door shaking off snow. Also, it suddenly mentions James, when did he arrive?
