In a universe on the brink of transformation, destiny favors the strong and prepared.
With their loved ones found and their Clan established, Alistair and Riseth push themselves to new heights in the final months of The Trial, a crucible of challenges set within interconnected subspaces. Scouring trial worlds for the strength, ships, and resources they need, they strive to forge a safe haven far from the chaos of their fractured homeworlds and the looming conflicts of the integrated universe.
Each challenge tests their resolve and sharpens their skills, forcing them to navigate the ambitions of rival factions and the dangers of the Trial itself. The treasures they uncover and the bonds they form may be their only hope of carving out a future amidst the gathering storm.
But time is running out. As The Trial nears its conclusion, their fleeting chance to prepare for the unknown fades. For Alistair and Riseth, survival is not enough—they must rise to claim their place in a universe forever changed.
The second book in the series, another good one. The only issue is there’s too much going on, needs to be tightened up a little bit.
Once again, the author throws everything against the wall, including the kitchen sink. This book has all the RPG tropes, I don’t think he left out anything. I found this book. Excellent but a little bit too busy, too many characters too much of a wide expanse in storyline, the author needs to tone it down a bit to concentrate on a core group of individuals, I know he’s building a clan, but that should be an ancillary portion of the main story. I missed all the characters in the first book. I will probably go onto Patreon and give my support to the author because I think this book was very well done, it’s his first book, but I cannot complain too much about it. His writing only seems to get better. just to let you know it’s a long book and you should start by reading the first book of the series, very well done. Just missing five stars.
This book was more entertaining and interesting than the first book. I ended up liking the characters better. There wasn't as much textbook type reading as before, except for the last few chapters. That type of descriptive writing is not for me. One thing I can say for this series is that it describes everything to the n'th degree, and then some more!
It's a solid story but a little too complicated and contrived at times of you too many ideas introduced it's trying to get jumbled up but it's a very solid story with protagonist who isn't the destined one the chosen Savior or a nonsense like that and there's no timeline forcing the action of the story
It's just okay. Nothing was good enough to keep me going. The relationship, plot, slow slice of life with irrelevant action scenes mixed in to break it up didn't quite sell me as I'd hoped.
The system and how everyone has a different system is an awesome reason because every book lately has been the same system. The character and story is great hard to put the book down
The book is well written and the characters are fleshed out and likeable. I will be continuing the series. My biggest issue is what the authors do in most these types of books. The plot armor and dues ex is liberally used. The levels only matter when the author wants some perceived challenge but in the end, they really don't matter. Also, it is always funny that the MC is the only one to figure out how to game the leveling when it was apparent after the first couple of titles were given.
