Lincoln Zane has faced dangerous assignments before, but none quite like this. His newest mission? Protect Isabel Maddox, his boss’s fiery, fiercely independent sister, from a faceless threat. When the situation gets too hot to handle, Lincoln does what any good security specialist would—he takes her to a safe house.
But Isabel isn’t exactly the damsel in distress type, and she's not thrilled about being cooped up with Mr. Tough-and-Taciturn. Sparks fly (and not just from the danger) as they work together to figure out who's after her. Between trying to crack the case and keeping their growing chemistry in check, Lincoln realizes that keeping Isabel safe might be the easiest part of the job—keeping his heart out of it is another story entirely.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the fourth book in the Men of Maddox Security series. I have read the first three books in this series before picking up this book. It took me a little bit to get pulled into this book, but once I was pulled into this story I loved it so much. I did not want to put this book down. I love Isabel's character, and I loved how she did not let things stop her. The twist at the end was so good, and there was so much action. I loved this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
Tension, banter, action, suspense-this one had a great mix of it all! Isabel and Lincoln were wonderful.

As members of Maddox Security, Isabel and Lincoln have known each other for a while. There has always been something there for these two. They have been attracted to one another since they met, but never said anything or acknowledged their crushes.
When Isabel starts to receive threats, her brother, Dean, assigns Lincoln to protect her and take her to a safe house while the team looks into the threats. I loved Isabel-she is strong willed and fierce, and a bit opposed to being sidelined and having a bodyguard. She has her own leads and is determined to follow them. Lincoln just wants to keep her safe, so works with her and reluctantly tags along when they find their research takes them to an unexpected place and some undercover work.
Lincoln was fantastic. So protective of Isabel, but also so sweet, she is much more than just a job. I loved their banter, but also all the moments they got to known one another on a deeper level. What started out as just being work, turned into strengthening their connection. The anticipation, sexual tension, attraction and chemistry between them was wonderful.
Mystery continued to grow through the entire story-this was fast paced and kept me wondering. When the suspense and action comes to a head near the end of the, I was on the edge of my seat. I needed all the answers and couldn’t put it down. It was great uncovering who had been threatening Isabel and why.
I really enjoyed getting to seeing the other members of Maddox, how close they all are and how well they work as a team.

**Thank you to the author and Booksprout for a copy of this book. This review and its opinions are my own.
I am obsessed with this standalone series. Lincoln and Isabel take us on a ride that starts off soft and gentle. As the story develops so does the passion and steam followed by suspense and action, the chemistry is undeniable between these two. I enjoyed taking a trip back to Club Greed, I can never get enough of seeing what happens there. As I finish each story I find myself loving each Maddox Security team member more than the last and Lincoln is now by far my favorite. Highly recommend read for sure.
Book #4 in the Men of Maddox Security and Lohan didn't disappoint!! Lincoln and Isabel's story has some unexpected scenes and the adrenaline of the previous books. The spicy bedroom and club scenes are 🔥 which is always the case for Logan's books and I'm here for it.
The chemistry between Lincoln and Isabel is unremarkable and knowing that Lincoln has always had a thing for her makes him want to protect her more from these threats.
Lincoln and Isabela have some great tension, some excellent spice, and interesting action. I love that we get to see a little cross over with the Saint Pierce series and also get to see some of the other characters from this series too.
I love this series! These guys are awesome. The kind of guy you would want to protect you, the kind you want standing by your side. The chemistry these two have are off the charts. I love how Lincoln lets her be part of everything. I love how strong Isabel is. I read this book in one sitting.
Another outstanding, exciting gem from Logan. Lincoln and Isabel are wonderful and likable characters. Their story has all the feels. A bit of humor. Angst. Sexual tension and delectable spice. Action, mystery, and a lot of suspense. Oh, and twists and turns you don't see coming. The camaraderie between Lincoln and Isabel never wavered in the face of danger. I applaud Logan for including loved characters from his previous books. Taking What's Mine is a brilliant romantic suspense novel that you should go one-click. All the stars!
Wow another fantastic heart racing read!! I loved Lincoln and Isabel! I love Isabel strength and independence and Lincoln’s possessiveness! Their chemistry is off the charts! The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat!! This book was unputdownable! I may have also developed a bit of a girl crush on Isabel too.
Ready to get hot, down & dirty? That's where Logan leads us in this latest addition where things get dark. Lincoln & Izz absolutely blow us away with their chemistry as they fight it. Pulsing need wars with their investigation & danger lingers in the dark. Exciting action & rescue follows.
Taking What’s Mine is a suspenseful and spicy read, jam packed with mystery and an “oh, I didn’t see that coming” moment! Another great addition to this series! 5 stars ⭐️
I was excited to read Isabel and Lincoln's story. The build up from the previous books in the series had me anticipating an amazing story.
Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The premise is for Lincoln to take Isabel to a safe house and protect her from an unknown someone threatening her electronically. Being the feisty independent under sister of Dean Maddox the head of Maddox Security, Isabel won't sit still and wait around for the intel. No, she needs to do it herself and Lincoln goes along with the plan. However, for a smart woman, why would you go looking for someone who is threatening you and you don't know what they look like, but they obviously know who you are?
One of the other issues I have, is the vagueness of the threats. We are not privy to what the threats actually are. In the previous books, the women the other men of Maddox Security have been protecting there has been an escalation of events to warrant a bodyguard. It isn't even clear if the threats are illegitimate. Why Isabel? She runs the intel for Maddox Security. She is not in the field. She doesn't have a disgruntled ex- boyfriend, friend or neighbor. We actually don't know anything about Isabel's personal life outside of Maddox Security.
Then, Isabel comes up with a lead through back channels and the dark web to a man who is the probable person behind the threats. Meanwhile, her brother, Dean is supposedly looking "into who's been threatening her" (pg. 17) with some of the other men of Maddox Security. He does not follow up with Lincoln about any leads, any angles they are working, or any other progress. His calls are inquiring about his sister's safety and if she staying low in the safe house. In the other books, Dean is constantly giving updates to his other bodyguards and their clients on the progress of their investigation.
So, as the story progresses Isabel and Lincoln find themselves fighting their attraction because they are on a mission. Their sexual tension builds. They get to know each other beyond their work. And, they keep pressing for more information and leads for the mysterious Morris Rolfe, the man who has a very shady background.
The story really gets interesting when Isabel and Lincoln go undercover at an adult club. Their attraction is tested. Their boundaries are crossed. They explore the more adventurous side of sexual play. In this dynamic, Isabel and Lincoln's relationship really starts to blossom. It gets good as their defenses are down and an extremely surprising turn of events happen. From here, it is all adrenaline to carry us to the end of their story, which is a tender outcome considering all that they experienced.
Overall, I liked the book, but I can't help to point out what frustrated me about it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lincoln Zane is used to danger. As a former Navy SEAL and key player at Maddox Security, he's all about control and precision. But when his boss, Dean Maddox, asks him to protect his little sister Isabel, Lincoln finds himself facing a very different kind of mission. Isabel is headstrong, independent, and not exactly thrilled about her new bodyguard. When threats escalate, Lincoln takes her into hiding and the only way to stay undercover? Pretend to be married.
What starts as a fake relationship quickly gets complicated. Between sizzling chemistry, unsaid truths, and a growing sense of real connection, Lincoln finds that protecting Isabel is more than just a job and falling for her might be the real risk.
I went into this book expecting a spicy bodyguard romance, and that’s exactly what I got but with some unexpected depth and fun twists too. First off, I loved the setup. The opening scene drops us right into a Maddox Security meeting, and it’s such a clever intro. This same scene will apparently appear from different POVs in each book in the series, which I think is such a cool storytelling choice. This time, it’s Lincoln’s perspective, and the dude is all business. Quiet, loyal, ex-Navy SEAL energy for days.
Now Isabel? She’s a firecracker. She’s Dean’s sister, yes, but she’s also an essential part of the company and knows exactly how to hold her own. So when Dean assigns Lincoln to keep her safe, you already know things are going to get tense in the best way.
The fake marriage angle? That sent me. There’s something about two coworkers fake-marrying to sneak into a swinger’s club that had me grinning and flipping pages. Their chemistry was undeniable, and even though they had totally different energies, they balanced each other out perfectly.
And of course, there’s that touch-her-and-die vibe from Lincoln. You know the one. It’s the grumpy protector trope done right, and I was so here for it.
This was a 4-star read for me. It was sexy, fun, and filled with protective alpha energy without veering into controlling territory. I’m also super intrigued by the rest of the Men of Maddox Security, and I already know I’ll be picking up the next book.
The Vibes it Brings: 💍 Fake marriage fun 🕶️ Bodyguard romance 🔥 Brother’s best friend tension 💼 Workplace proximity 🤐 Quiet grump x Fiery sunshine 🚨 Forced proximity 🛑 Touch-her-and-die energy 🏡 Safe house setting 🗝️ Hidden vulnerability 💘 Slow-burn turned spicy
If you’re in the mood for a quick, spicy romantic suspense with heart, Taking What’s Mine hits the mark. It’s got heat, tension, banter, and a strong female lead who refuses to be sidelined. I’ll definitely be following the rest of the Maddox crew to see who falls next. I was given a copy of this book from Booksprout and the author. All opinions are my own. ✨
Independent reviewer for BookSirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 4 in the Men of Maddox Security series, I've managed to read it before book 3, but I don't think it matters. They kinda/sorta run along side each other.
Lincoln is tasked with keeping Isabel, Dean's sister, safe. Her stalker is getting close. She is quite capable, thank you very much, and takes great offense at Dean for making her do this. But for the fact it is Lincoln, she might have pulled a hissy fit. Finding themselves in the middle of an adult club, when looking for leads, was not what they expected. But it gives them both a roundabout way to get what they want: each other. They just gotta keep Isabel safe til the threat is gone.
So! Reading out of order, but not really missing anything for doing that. But I do like these books, and I have book 3 to read after this one.
We had a 4 star, a 4.5 star and now we hit the ding, ding, ding, jackpot with a 5 star read!
I think what did it for me here was, Lincoln and Isabel have known each other for some time, worked together daily. And while each has attraction to the other, neither admitted it out loud. This close protection for Isabel brings brings them closer, and I loved the way it evolved.
Steamy, oh yes! Given the situation they find themselves in, and I did NOT see that one coming at me! Loved that!
Book 2 got a higher rating than book 1 for the emotional connection and we get that here, mostly because of the previous attraction, but I still think the emotional connection is far deeper than the pairings in previous books. Might be me, but still, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
There is some reference to Dean's story here, and I've not read that, but I didn't feel I missed anything. I WANT to read it, but I don't feel I NEED to, you know?? Dean's wife Sophia pops up here and I liked her for what little I know of Dean so far. At some point, I will read their story!
Maddox Security- ran by Dean Maddox. The series opens with the team all attending the same meeting. Each guy handed their individual assignment, which leads to their book. Unlike the other guys, Lincoln’s assignment is a bit different. He has been handed the assignment to keep Isabel Maddox safe, their team member and…Dean’s sister.
Isabel has been receiving threats and the team must figure out who is behind them. Much like the other stories, all the women are a bit stubborn and don’t feel like they need protection. But once everything is put on the line, it’s better to be safe. And Lincoln plans on keeping Isabel safe. Not only is she a coworker..and Dean’s sister..but Linc has kind of had a crush on Isabel since he met her. Funny thing, she feels the same way about Lincoln, just neither of them have acted on it.
Lincoln and Isabel start out in a safe house, and decide it’s best to pretend that they are a married couple. As they find out very quickly, it doesn’t take much pretending. But as the two follow a lead, it takes them some place unexpected. Like all the stories, these books are pretty fast paced, and when one of them, or this case, two of them are in trouble, the team will find a way.
Nothing against these, just my thoughts, but the series is all quite similar. As stated above, each guy attends the meeting, they get handed an assignment, guy needs to protect a woman receiving threats, and guy and girl fall in love. Thankfully, they are not too long, and pace quickly, and are still entertaining. But throw something in there to surprise us.
Taking What’s Mine is yet another thrilling knockout from Logan Chance and a phenomenal addition to the Men of Maddox Security series. This fourth installment blends heart-pounding suspense, sizzling chemistry, and just the right dose of emotional depth to deliver a romantic suspense that’s hard to put down.
Lincoln Zane is a seasoned protector, cool under pressure and built like a fortress. But when his latest assignment is to protect Isabel Maddox—his boss’s spirited and stubborn sister—he finds himself in way over his head in more ways than one. Isabel isn’t the type to sit still or play it safe, and the tension between her and Lincoln is explosive from the start.
The story hooks you in with an intriguing mystery and keeps you flipping pages with action-packed sequences, unexpected twists, and emotional moments that feel raw and real. Isabel is a standout heroine—fierce, funny, and determined not to be underestimated. Lincoln’s tough-guy exterior masks a deeply loyal, protective heart, and watching these two navigate danger and desire together is pure gold.
There’s a perfect balance of slow-burn heat, suspenseful thrills, and heartfelt connection. Add in cameos from beloved characters of previous books, and fans of the series are in for a treat. And the twist at the end? Absolutely brilliant.
Logan Chance delivers a high-stakes romance with depth, danger, and a whole lot of swoon. Taking What’s Mine is romantic suspense at its best. Five stars, no hesitation!
This is the fourth book in the Men of Maddox Security Series, however it's the first book I've read in the series. This did not matter as it can be read as a standalone, however, as with most series, it's probably best to start at the beginning so you can fully appreciate the other characters.
This is Lincoln & Isabel's story. They have kept their feelings about each other a secret, working hard to never let on that there is something there. However with the recent threat to Isabel's life, and Lincoln being in charge of her personal security, it's only a matter of time before those feelings sizzle to the surface.
Together, they work undercover to find out who is behind these threats, and it lands them in the secret web of a BDSM club. Playing the role of husband and wife, they very quickly learn the truth in their hearts and begin to explore their desires and passions.
Their story was suspenseful, spicy and overall had a good plot. I appreciated that some of the backstory of other important characters was shared, it helped to better understand the dynamics between them all. Specifically, Dean, who is Isabel's brother, and Lincoln's friend and boss.
Lincoln is kind, selfless and a natural protector. He is smart, intuitive and respectful. Isabel is smart, determined and strong minded. She is independent and does not wilt in the face of danger.
You will find yourself rooting for these two to find the HEA they deserve. You want them to be happy and find love.
I received a free ARC of this book, and this review is only my opinion
I was waiting impatiently for this one! Lincoln and Isabel. Taking What’s Mine is book four in Men of Maddox Security series. Dean, the owner and boss of this group of alpha men, is Isabel’s brother and Lincoln is a former navy seal and one of these bad-A alphas. Isabel is a little different from all their other heroines. She’s very independent, headstrong and feisty, a take charge kind of woman who doesn’t want to be pushed aside and “protected”. Lincoln has his hands full. She’s being threatened, although we don’t know what exactly those threats are. From the beginning, the attraction and chemistry was there on both sides. It’s different from the other books as this is a slow yet intense burn. When the match is finally lit we have spicy and explosive fire. It’s beyond hot. These two work together to figure out those five W-questions. Then it gets a bit interesting. Their leads take them back to Club Greed (a place we are familiar with from previous books) and they pose as a newly married couple to find the information they need. Slow and steady they dig deeper until a turn of events explodes it all. While we have the slow build throughout the story in their relationship and the case, the ending is non-stop action. Loved the story! The heat, tension, suspense, the multiple tropes this story hits-it all works to make a fantastic read. Can’t wait for book 5!
Taking What’s Mine is the 4th book in this amazing series and follows Lincoln Zane and Isabel Maddox.
Lincoln is assigned to protect none other than his bosses sister Isabel. She runs the day to day operations of Maddox Security and has been receiving escalating threats from an unknown source. Lincoln takes her to a safe house but she's not one to sit back and let others fight her battles she's independent, stubborn, fiesty and determined to find out whose behind the threats. The sexual tension between them intensifies as they dig deeper especially when it leads them to Club Greed where they pretend to be a married couple wanting to explore new sexual experiences.
Their story started as a slow burn as they gather bits and pieces of who could be targeting her as well as their growing attraction. Once the information begins to form a clearer picture all bets are off and they don't hold back on their attraction or their hunt for whose after her. Hold on for a wild ride this one has a bit of everything action, danger, suspense, mystery and a budding romance. While this is part of a series it can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend you read the other books in the series.
I received a free copy an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.
Taking What’s Mine is a mix of stormy emotions, mystery, romantic suspense, action, witty banter, risky encounters, engaging characters, lifelike scene descriptions, flaming-hot romance and a happy forever.
The setting is a Safehouse and there are visits to fantasy Club Greed. Lincoln Zane, a retired Navy Seal, works with his friend Dean who owns Maddox Security. Dean’s sister Isabel has been getting mystery threats, and he asks Lincoln to protect her. Since Isabel began working with her brother, they have kept their fiery desires for each other at bay. Isabel has a feisty personality and does not want protection. Lincoln’s strong alpha personality makes her realize she does. Together they work at the Safehouse for leads of the threat. They face dangerous obstacles before reaching their happy forever.
An entertaining storyline that kept me eager to learn what happens next. The author does a great job with on edge scene descriptions and shows the romance between Lincoln and Isabel is genuine. Lincoln proves to be an excellent protector, and Isabel is a worthy heroine. Enjoyed this story and look forward to next book in this series. This is a Kindle Unlimited review.
I’ve been waiting to see what would happen between Lincoln and Isabel in the Men of Maddox Security series—and book 4 definitely delivers! If you’ve been following along, you already know Isabel is Dean’s sister, and he’s super protective of her—which makes sense, considering she’s been receiving threats. Lincoln is not only one of Dean’s employees but also a close friend, and he’s given the task of protecting Isabel.
The only issue? Isabel isn’t exactly on board with having a babysitter. From the start, she makes Lincoln work for it, proving just how strong and independent she really is.
They eventually head to the safe house, where they start digging into leads together—leads that take them to Club Greed. The story picks up as they go undercover to track down the person behind the threats. I won’t spoil anything, but let’s just say their already-sizzling chemistry gets put to the test.
This book has it all: angst, spice, sexual tension, suspense—and one of my favorite tropes, brother’s best friend. It wraps up with everyone safe and sound, and Dean even lets Lincoln in on a little surprise about why he chose him to protect Isabel in the first place.
I also loved seeing familiar characters pop up again. I seriously can’t wait for the next one!
Taking What’s Mine is Book #4 in Men Of Maddox Security Series
I loved this book. The emotions. The feelings! , Ahh! , their chemistry was off the charts that you actually felt the heat. The banter had me laughing out loud at times it had me glued to my seat and turning the pages wondering what will come next .
I loved Lincoln and Isabel together. Isabel is a very strong willed personality and doesn’t want anyone fusing or telling her what to do…. Then we have Lincoln who is assigned to keep the bosses sister Isabel safe. Fierce and protecting people is his number one job easy peasy for him right? ….. well not this time. keeping his heart out of the equation seems to be one of his hardest assignments yet, will he be able too or not?
This author knows how to weave an intricate story together that leaves you feeling so good by the end! With just the right amount of angst and Oh My God!!!! What just happened in there. Can’t wait for book 5 to come out so we get more from this series. I highly recommend you run and one click this ASAP.
We're back with Maddox security and it's Lincoln's turn now! Someone has been sending messages to Isabel, Dean's sister, naturally he wants his best person on it, Lincoln, who's had feelings for Isabel since she joined the company but he's hidden them, not wanting to upset Dean! Isabel is an independent woman and doesn't see the need fora babysitter! Also her feelings for Lincoln aren't platonic! They go to a safe house and start investigating who might be after her. On finding out who it might be they arrange to visit an adult club. Then the fun starts, can they tame their feelings for each other while they work, or will attending the club make them more aware of each other, and what about Dean, Lincoln doesn't want to lose his job. The chemistry between them is magical, they complement each other very well. Add in the suspense and it's a great read.

Oh boy is Isabel Maddox in so much trouble. Logan Chance has teased us about these two and finally we see them in action. We see two friends, co-workers finally see what their feelings are really all about. Right away Isabel gets under Lincolns skin and there's no way out. Seeing them go through almost the same thing her brother wen through was hot.Seeing them pretending and still fighting their feelings towards one another then adding in the whole Club Greed was just wow. I mean there's no denying their feelings and hello it's a slow burn to something exciting. Lincoln is determined to keep Isabel safe no matter what because she is his all the way. This was a great addition to the series and finally we see what Isabel has been going through all this time. Temptation, sexiness and the thrill of someone out there in every corner was exciting. Can't wait to see what's next in this team.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
Logan Chance does it again! He hit it waaaaay out of the park with Taking What’s Mine. This book is a masterclass in writing romantic suspense. The story was so good; I did not want to stop reading to go to sleep…so I didn’t! I stayed up all night so I could enjoy Lincoln and Isabel’s story!
This is the fourth book in the Maddox Alpha Team series, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Filled with action, suspense and heated tension, it will have you reaching for a fan and a cold drink from beginning to end (the spice is spicy). Fire emoji
The yearning between Lincoln and Isabel is palpable. The suspense is heart pounding. The action had me flying through the pages to discover what would happen next. Additionally, the character and relationship development was perfection. I was cheering for Isabel and Lincoln all the way through.
Treat yourself to this five-star read! You will be so happy you did.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A relationship is off limits, but their attraction to each other may be too hard to resist. Taking What’s Mine is another great book in the Men of Maddox Security Series. Lincoln and Isabel are a force to be reckoned with. Being ex-military, Lincoln is used to dangerous situations but this one is different. Now he is in charge of protecting his boss’s sister who also helps run Maddox Security. Isabel is fearless and has a get it done attitude. Logan Chance takes this series to a whole new level. With a mix of danger, fun banter, and a steamy attraction, Taking What’s Mine is a romantic suspense with all the feels that makes it a page turning must read. Even though this is a standalone, I do recommend reading the series in order because characters from the previous books are part of the team that is Maddox Security.

Isabel is just living her life working along side jer brother Dean, the owner of Maddox Security, until someone begins to threaten her. Lincoln's faced lots of dangers in his life, but having to protect his boss's sister is going to be one of the hardest assignments he's had. Isabel isn't the type of woman to hide, and soon she's out looking for the person threatening her, and Lincoln is along for the ride with her. What neither of them expect is for the feelings they've had for each other to become more than they imagined. Both Isabel and Lincoln try to keep the attraction at bay, but soon, they can't fight it anymore. Will Lincoln be able to protect Isabel when the danger surfaces? What is going to happen once Isabel's life is longer threatened? I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author and reviewed it voluntarily.
This is one of my faves from this series to date. Logan Chance delivers as always. Lincoln and Isabel are perfect together and set the pages on fire! Things are so sexy and steamy when they go undercover as a married couple. They discover they have chemistry for days and a serious attraction to each other, even if it is not the best time to explore that. They are currently trying to find out who is after Isabel, so lives are at stake and he is her brother Dean’s best friend, who runs Maddox. There are some very suspenseful times involving Isabel and Sophia and it is so intense! I loved the story and the characters so much. Love this group of people from Maddox Security and can’t wait for more!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was such a fun mix of suspense and slow-burn romance. Lincoln is all gruff, guarded protector vibes, and Isabel is fiery, independent, and definitely not the type to sit back and let someone else handle her problems. Watching them butt heads—and slowly start to fall for each other—was such a good time.
The forced proximity at the safe house had all the right tension, and their chemistry really built up in a believable way. The mystery kept things moving, even if the resolution came a little fast compared to how well everything else was paced. Still, Lincoln trying to guard more than just Isabel’s body (hello, feelings) made for a great read. If you're into protective, stoic heroes and strong, sharp heroines who push all the right buttons, this one's worth picking up.
