Rage and blood lust have been the only things fueling my soul for the last one-hundred years. Revenge has been the only thing holding my sanity together. Until his shadows curl around my throat and all I can think about is his revenge. I don’t want to be loved, but he doesn’t know the meaning of the word no.
Raiden
Ruling the Court of Shadows for the past three-hundred years alone has left my life feeling mundane on the best of days. But the courts are uneasy and there’s something more going on than meets the eye. When she comes into my life, daggers flying, it’s everything in my power to let her maintain distance between us. But I won’t be held at bay for long - she’s mine. Whether she wants to admit to it or not. I’ll have her, even if it burns my court to the ground to do so.
** Please note, this book is a dark fantasy romance complete with an extensive trigger list. Remember that your mental health matters more than reading a book. **
I took my time reading this book cause I did not want it to end- I wanted to stay in this world longer.
If you are looking for a vengeful FMC and an OBSESSED at first sight MMC….then this is the book for you! Silvana is a curvy stabby badass who is reclaiming herself and Raiden is an obsessive shadow wielding MMC who will burn the world for his Ice Queen.
Tropes: 🖤 Morally Grey/Black FMC ❤️ He Falls First 🖤 Touch Her & 💀 ❤️ Obsession/Stalking 🖤 Feminine Rage ❤️ Fated Mates 🖤 Found Family
I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of this courtesy of the author. The character artwork included within is a nice addition.
I loved the author note at the beginning with the content warnings. While I tend to skim over those because I'm dead inside and have virtually no triggers, I appreciate that authors include them. Included in the author note was an introduction to Silvana and it is just perfect. I loved her immediately. And Silvana does not disappoint as a character. 😍 Raiden is just so head over heels for her from the start. It’s just so freakin’ cute lol
I wish I had a more eloquent review to share, but I don't. I absolutely loved Silvana and that's all I've really got. She. Is. Amazing.
The epilogue?! 🥺🤯🤬 But I will absolutely need to read the sequel when it's available…
My Rating: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐ Series Rating: TBD but Promising We Have ✅ M/F Romance ✅ Dual POV ✅ Morally Grey/Black FMC ✅ He Falls First ✅ Touch Her & 💀 ✅ Obsession/Stalking ✅ Feminine Rage ✅ Fated Mates ✅ Found Family ✅ Slow Burn with Bite ✅ Court Intrigue + Unhinged Banter ✅ Vampires
This story? Obsessed. Like… literally—and not just me, but the MMC too. Raiden is a full-blown, shadow-wielding, blood-soaked menace who took one look at our FMC Silvana and said, “Yep. That’s my wife.” And then never looked back. The delusion? Delicious. The devotion? Aggressively hot. The moment he called her his new queen before even knowing her name?? Sir. I need you biblically.
And Silvana? My stabby little soul sister. She's strong, bloodthirsty, sarcastic, and deadly as hell—basically everything I ever want in a female lead. She fights like she’s got a point to prove (and honestly, she does), and I was here for every blade, every fang, every moment of feminine rage. When she falls, she falls HARD—and her possessive side? Chef's kiss. Absolute menace to society in the best way.
The tension? Off the charts. Slow burn but never boring. The spice? I was still grinning like a heathen and highlighting like it was my full-time job. Raiden’s mouth alone deserves a medal—he’s flirty, commanding, and somehow manages to make torture sound romantic. Bless him.
Also—iconic side characters (that will probably be main later), stellar worldbuilding, and enough intrigue to keep the plot thick and the pages turning.
My only real gripe? The final 5% got a bit confusing and left some threads dangling, but it is an interconnected series, so I’m trusting the chaos will come full circle in the next book.
If you’re looking for a romance where the FMC is curvy, stabby, and reclaiming herself—and the MMC is her obsessive, shadow-drenched, ready-to-burn-down-the-world match? This is the book for you.
It started off strong. It is fast pace, so don't expect a lot of world building but the FMC was intriguing. She was a badass, stabby, hilarious, and definitely a strong feminine rage character. Her whole thing was about never falling for a man due to her past (which is traumatic as a child bride).
But you know what happens around 35%ish about? Insta-love starts creeping in....to the point that when she finds out the MMC is her mate, she runs away for all of 5 pages (maybe) to only come back and says, yes, I love you too.
Silvana was a badass, she was unhinged, bloodthirsty and skilled. She’d had a hundred years to learn how to be a killer and she put in the work! I loved her, sarcasm, giggles while stabbing and penance for torture included. Her message to him? The one with the fangs, blood and heart? Yeah, criminally romantic. She was brilliant and perfect, but then her insecurities reared their ugly heads and made her pull back from THAT thing. She did annoy me there, like baby, you have all the signs pointing to THAT, he’s a hottie that’s obsessed with you and the chemistry is off the charts! Don’t let fear and insecurity get in the way of THAT. But once she gave in, she was ALL in! I loved how possessive she became once she accepted the situation.
Sorry but THAT is a spoiler and you’ll need to read it (promise is worth it!)
Raiden was fucking done for the moment he saw her. 13% in, he just met her and he was already calling her “my new queen”? Fuck yes. He was delusional and dramatic and I loved him the moment I met him. He was also a flirt, trying to woo Silvana during a torture session? Why not! He was so sassy, and his comebacks were equal parts hilarious and hot.
The secondary characters were also iconic. I liked the relationship between them and the MCs and how they added to the plot and the backstory of each main character.
Some descriptions were a little wordy and unnecessary, but it didn’t truly affect the pace or slow down the reading.
Also? Cool ass names, great choices all around.
I was confused by the ending 5%. Trips were made that ended without resolving anything and plot points were left open…WHICH MAKES SENSE because it’s an interconnected series, so next book will have another couple with the plot picking up where this one left off. Oh and that small and itty bitty fucking plot twist…yeah that was unexpected as fuck.
Quotes:
Saving my appetite for a willing donor was truly overrated when there was fun to be had. Why use the 'on-tap' service, when there were abusive husbands I could be eating?
“I do love it when my food screams for me."
That's fine. I could find her any-where. She could run, but she couldn't hide. Not from me.
"Hello, my Ice Queen. I've been searching for you,"
"Are you in the mood to bow, My Ice Queen? I do imagine you'll look fantastic on your knees before me."
"Patience, My Little Ice Queen, I'll get you there when I wish for you to arrive and not a moment sooner,"
My dreams had been purely haunted by nothing but how her hair shined under the moonlight as she was covered in another male's blood.
"I crave the opportunity to build you a throne from the bones of our enemies, so that you may rule by my side until the end of our days, Silvana."
If it was going to get my fangs in this male's neck while he was buried inside of me? I would do almost anything.
"The only place you'll be coming tonight, is on my cock, Silvana. Not a moment before."
But I knew my soul would be back with me soon. I was trusting the threads of fate.
I am absolutely wrecked (in the BEST way) after finishing Shadows of Fate by Kelsey Lee. This book completely swept me away and left me utterly obsessed. Especially with Raiden. He is EVERYTHING, possessive in the most delicious way, deeply tender, fiercely loyal, and so heartbreakingly devoted to Silvana that I found myself practically highlighting every word he spoke. Speaking of Silvana, I am in awe. She is the perfect FMC: strong, clever, brave, and so beautifully human in her moments of vulnerability. Watching her story unfold was nothing short of mesmerising. HOW am I supposed to recover from this? The intimacy Kelsey Lee captured between these two is so much more than physical, it's soul deep! Every scene between them radiates that electric, I can't breathe without you kind of love. The world building was immersive, the side characters memorable, and the stakes kept me glued to the pages late into the night. If you love passionate, soul binding, romance wrapped in a world full of Fate, danger, and destiny do not miss this book!
I received this book as an ARC from Kelsey Lee, the following review is my honest opinion:
AHHHHHH!! I LOVED IT! If you want a book with "match my freak" energy you found it! The FMC is a stabby ice queen and doesn't take shit. I LOVE HER. Silvana has been trough the ringer and back and she made it out and instead of sitting pretty and eating bon bons or moping she went out and put in that work! She is a girl's girl 1,000x over and like me, hates most men lmaoo. Raiden, love him, adore him, he's a little flirt and unlike most MMC's he actually has no problem telling people from the jump that he's obsessed with Silvana. Raiden is the epitome of "that's MY Queen"and we love to see it. The side characters? Loved em, can't wait to see more.
Now definitely read the trigger warnings, there is a lot of abuse & SA off page but could definitely be triggering for some. This book is about taking back your power after losing it so it was rough at parts but so worth it.

Wow! This spicy vampire book has got me screaming!! The violence, the tension, the drama — yes, please!
Badass, curvy FMC Silvana is out for vengeance against all evil male vampires attacking innocent females. Mysterious shadow daddy MMC Raiden sees her rage and can’t look away. Evil vamp uprising, missing memories, and threads will make any reader go crazy for this book..not to mention the spice!
Hot Tropes: - Feminine rage - Stalker / obsession - He falls first - Touch her & 💀 - Found family - Revenge - Vampires, shifters, specialized magic
I really enjoyed this read; perfect balance of romantasy and dark fantasy. This world that Kelsey Lee created is beautifully complex and detailed, simply DIVINE.
This FMC. Two words, BAD ASS. I loved this character. Her strength is insane. RAMPAGE QUEEN. She lives and loves guarded. Protected behind a solid wall, hurt and trauma, picking up shards of glass and melding them to repair her shattered self. I lived.
This MMC; is a cinnamon roll shadow daddy a thing? I'm going to say HECK YES. I melted for this character. Strong and dangerous but the DEVOTION. Devotion on another level my friends. Dedication, devotion and deadly seduction. A winning combo in my books.
And the chemistry between them both? Chef's kiss.
Left on a cliffhanger, I'm dying to find the answers to my questions here!? Can't wait for book two!
I was intrigued by the premise of the book but it just didn't hold my interest very well. The characters all came across as rather immature and I had a hard time connecting with any of them.
I can definitely see how this would appeal to readers who enjoy more quirky "unhinged" characters it just wasn't for me.
This book is sooooo good!!! I loved every aspect from the serial killer vibe fmc to the golden retriever mmc who accepts her the was she is!! The plot grabbed me and added to the spiciness! 10/10 recommend I can’t wait for the second book!!
Loved the story between Silvana and Raiden. The spice and the plot were both great. The world building flowed so naturally and was easy to follow. I loved how Silvana and Raiden’s relationship grew throughout the book. Their tension and desire for each other was amazing. Looking forward to more to come
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it every-time, we love a shadow daddy that supports our unhinged FMC. Add into the face that he goes feral because someone touched our FMC. DADDY!! puddle of slutty goo is dammmm right!! 💦
I LOVED the way the whole story line was built up and world building was super easy to follow. Not too heavy if you’re new to paranormal. Or looking for an easy read to get lost in. The female rage was *chefs kiss* the spicy scenes was 🤭 and I stay giggling.
There were parts that I felt the female rage was a little repetitive but her growth easily surpassed my annoyance.
The ending was DEFINITELY A CLIFFHANGER, but I couldn’t tell if book 2 was built around another couple vs the same MMC/FMC. So that was confusing but I will be jumping on book 2 the min it’s available to me.
Cheers to the authors dedication… cuz why tf not?
For all the gals who’ve ever been told they’re too much? I hope you make them choke.
No tienen relevancia.
I feel like I enjoyed the story for the first quarter before I found myself becoming less and less interested. Silvana was such a spitfire and I loved her murderous rampage in contrast with Raiden's more subdued murderous streak, but I wasn't fully invested in their relationship and how quickly they moved due to the mate bond. I ended up skipping a lot of the scenes between them because I wasn't feeling the connection.
As for the secondary cast, I was disappointed to see them only being brought on when necessary to further the plot. Cedar, Micah, Bastian, Allie and others could have been more fleshed out. I wanted more of a deeper connection between them all. Also, justice for Allie and the lack of characterisation! I legit forgot she existed by the end.
Also this may be picky, but the court names could have been more in tandem if they went either full shifter/animal or elemental. It felt weird seeing the 50/50 split in powers and the vagueness in what kind of sub-powers some vamps received through their home courts.
My main gripe came to the writing, especially the dialogue. You want me to believe these vampires are centuries old and they speak like a bunch of teenagers at times. The insults from the bad vamps read comically juvenile and modern for what was presented of the setting.
Some of my personal memorable quotes that broke me out of immersion: "Less bitch boy." "ya know" (Cannot remember how many times this was used) "I let out a small breath I hadn't realised I'd been holding." (At least 3 different variations of this)
As much as I'm interested to know how the rest of the story plays out in the sequel, I don't think I'm invested in the characters to continue.
*ARC* I cannot believe I took so long to read this book! I absolutely loved it!! I could not put it down it was so good. It has so much to love; obsession, secrets, betrayal, bloodlust, love, mates, friendship, trust.
I fell in love with these characters so hard. Silvana and Raiden were so amazingly written. I can I say, I absolutely love Raiden....like he is so delicious. Just his loyalty, his unhinged obsession. *chef's kiss*
Silvana...Silvana was just so fun to read. The feminine rage was so strong it was such a joy to read. lol. And her unhinged behavior just matched so perfectly with Raiden that it was a beautiful read. And the spice?? It was spicing and I loved it!!
And the side characters!!!??? Absolutely loved them. They brought so much fun to this book and I cannot wait to read more about them.
Book 2 cannot be here fast enough!! The cliffhanger was brutal and I am on the edge for what is to happen.
I struggled with this on it managed to stage towards the end and it also was very scene setting which I did understand as it’s the first in a series.
Silvana is a vampire with ice power she is set on revenge for every male who has wronged a woman. Totally noble mission and apparently in this world there are loads to kill. She has no memory and is unsure who turned her.
Raiden is a vampire kind of the shadow court with shadow powers. He is bored with his life until he sees Silvana kill somebody. Then he is drawn to her as they are mates.
There is a subplot that the kind of the ice lands is collecting female vampires against their will for breeding as he wants an heir.
Turns out Silvana was born a vampire and the ice kind held her captive mistreated her for years until she escaped. They can’t prove anything and killing him would start a war so then need to prove this.

2.5 ⭐️. Okay. This started off so deliciously camp, with this boss bitch murderess on the trail of some wicked men. Hot. Then she crosses paths with vampire royalty. Hot. They are fated mates. Could have been so hot. But she just jumped ship to being totally obsessed and in love with him sooo bloody soon which seemed totally opposite of who she was established to be. Didn’t have a dilemma or make him work for it. It was so unsatisfying!! Also, so many interesting plot lines that have been left hanging by the hint of a series. I get it but far out, annoying!! I don’t feel great about giving it 2 stars because the potential was there in the first part, I was so excited about this but by the end I was just speed reading to finish it, because all the fun had been sucked out of it. I will read the next one in the series with the hope it will improve!

Solid 3.5 stars. It started off great, the characters were interesting, the world building was intriguing, and some of the dark comedy was hitting! There’s one scene that I know will stick with me, let’s just say it was….bone chilling 🤭 Towards the end of the book the story started getting a little crowded and convoluted. Now this makes sense considering this is the first book in a series but the characters and lore that were pushing the twists and turns seemed to come out of nowhere. Almost as If this was meant to be a completed story and then a last minute decision to stretch it out was made. The good thing is that every single character is interesting. So I can easily see how there are opportunities for more books with different focal points. I’m intrigued enough to read the second book when the time comes, but the ending of this was just a little anticlimactic for me.
First off, Silvana is savage to the point of almost feral. If you’ve ever been so angry you’ve felt your body vibrate with it - Silvana is your girl. Every bit of feminine rage that has existed is bundled up in the FMC and it’s glorious.
Raiden 🥵 He saw Silvana’s ghost pepper spicy temper wielding a knife like the pro she is and said MINE. Unconditional love for a borderline feral stabby vampire, check.
The spice spices in this book and the plot line is quite enjoyable with a lot of discoveries and small twists along the way. This book is spicy WITH plot, and the tension/banter is phenomenal.
This book follows Silvana & Raiden, next up is Cora & Cedar and the plot line wrap up - I will be counting the days until I can jump back into this world.
I’ve been waiting for this book to drop, and let me just say—it did not disappoint! I loved every second of Shadows of Fate from start to finish.
There’s truly nothing better than a badass, stabby, unhinged FMC, and Silvana? I adored her. She’s sarcastic, fierce, and layered with just the right mix of vulnerability and strength. Her insecurities made her feel so real, and I connected with her right away.
And then there’s Raiden… oh, Raiden. From the moment he saw Silvana, he was gone for her. Total shadow daddy vibes—possessive, hot, unhinged, flirty, and ridiculously loyal. I couldn’t get enough of him. And together? Their chemistry was 🔥. Also, the way he calls her “little ice queen”?? Yeah… obsessed.
The plot was gripping, the world-building was rich without being overwhelming, and the pacing? Perfect. This book grabbed me and didn’t let go—I was fully consumed by it.
So yeah—count me all the way in for book two. I need more of this world!
Honestly I’m not sure I liked this book, the story could have been much more solid if it was built different, it feels like a novella that stretches on for forever, with no actual structure. The plot is actually good, the idea behind it sounds really interesting, but I wish it was developed in an entirely different way, giving more depth to the characters and describing each scene with more clarity, to make it look less rushed. If you want to read a vampire novella tho it’s pretty good, it does have a second book and the ending is a bit left up in the air, but it takes only a couple of hours to read.
Tropes: 🖤 Morally Grey/Black FMC ❤️ He Falls First 🖤 Touch Her & 💀 ❤️ Obsession/Stalking 🖤 Feminine Rage ❤️ Fated Mates 🖤 Found Family
I loved the author note at the beginning with the content warnings. I’m obsessed with this book. I loved Raiden and his shadow-wielding, blood soaked menace. He was beyond obsessed with Silvana and I am seriously here for it. Silvana I love that she’s strong, bloodthirsty, sarcastic, and deadly as hell. If you’re looking for a romance where the FMC is curvy, stabby, and reclaiming herself—and the MMC is her obsessive, shadow-drenched, ready-to-burn-down-the-world match? This is the book for you.
- vampires - magic - touch her and unalived - he falls first - found family - fated mates
This is a fast paced, action packed dark romantasy.
Silvana is a bada**. She is fierce, protective, morally black and out for vengeance. And I love her.
Raiden is everything we want in a man. 1st- he's a shadow daddy vampire (and honestly, I could stop there and we would all still love him). But also, he falls first, he loves her rage, and he calls her his Ice Queen. and I melt.
It does end with an overall STORY cliffhanger but the couple is HEA
We love a Shadow Daddy that supports his unhinged FMC.
There were parts of this book I really liked and parts that I wish dived a bit deeper. The Lore was interesting with the post war world and the imperfect balance between vampires and humans.
Lots Left up in the air though at the end, a definite cliff hanger around the past with no clear indication of what could be coming next!
I would give this low spice and didn't find it to be very dark, mention of dark themes would've been my categorization.
I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the next in the series.
I enjoyed this so much!! I loooove a feral fmc and an mmc that is fully in support of his feral mate! I'm really excited to see where the rest of the series goes, this was a good first book, and I like how so many thing were set up, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here.
I'm really really glad I received an ARC for this, I've been looking for a vampire book for a bit, and this definitely helped satisfy my craving.
Sass? Icy female? A male that knows what he wants when he sees it?
OMG this book checks all the boxes and I cannot express the insane rollercoaster that I went on with this book. I loved it and couldn't put it down. Vampires, blood, righteous rage. GAHHHH I want to erase my brain so I can reread it and get the thrill of the first time all over again. This will go on my shelf as a fallback read on bad days.
I want a Raiden in my life. His brand of crazy was so much fun. I loved how even when he was basically stalking Silvana, he was just so into it. He was so down bad for her. Then when they start to be together, he doesn't try to change her and even encourages her to be keep being herself. Silvana was also so much fun to read. She is smart and stabby. She is perfect with him. They complemented each other so well. I was sad when the book ended. I can't wait to read more.
I should've f*cking known it was a partial. DOES NO ONE WRITE STANDALONE STORIES ANYMORE?! Seriously, though- even though my friend warned me that I'd identify with our FMC- I didn't expect to tear through Silvana's story so quickly! Nothing quite like an "Angel of Feminine Retribution" to get you through the weekend! I was so drawn to this story, I found myself reading it at 4AM after finding myself randomly awake for no reason. Looking forward to Whispers of Frost!
