Erin Evans is the kind of girl no guy wants to be in a relationship with. She’s controlling and never backs down when she thinks she’s right. Knowing this, and rightfully fearing her last few years in her twenties will be like the last five, she looks for some adventure. That’s when her best friend convinces her to go on vacation with her to the Bahamas. On the land of white sand, coconut rum, and a cloudless sky, what she never expects is to meet Tyler Weston, a local bartender with a sweet tongue for the pretty girls. He’s tattooed, entertaining, and living the dream in paradise as he sets her drinks and her world on fire. As the moon lights the city, Erin unexpectedly becomes infatuated with Tyler and his bartending skills when he offers her the challenge of trying his Black Magic drink her first night on Paradise Island. Hoping to get some more alone time with Tyler, she sets out on a mission to try every drink on the menu while on vacation. And after one night and one Black Magic drink, both of which she can barely remember, results into two weeks of exciting possibilities she never saw coming. Can Erin put aside her cynical side and let the dirty-mouthed bartender show her what island life and love are really like?
I was one of the few selected to receive an advance copy of Come Sundown (and boy am I a lucky bitch)...in return - I've read it and now I'm sharing it with all you sexy peeps. Check it out below:
~MY REVIEW~
When I started this book, I truly didnt know what I thought of it. If Im being honest, at the beginning, I had a few moments where I wasnt sure about it or if it was a book for me. BOY WAS I WRONG!! Chelsea Landon has created characters that grabbed hold of my heart and didnt let me put this book down. I read the whole thing in one sitting, and even after finishing it - I cant get the story, or Erin and Tyler off my mind.
Erin is such a complex character - she is the very definition of OCD. Her need to have complete control has ruled her life, but one spontaneous choice changes everything for her. Travelling to the Bahamas with her BFF, youd think she’d be in for a week of sun, sand, drinks and harmless fun...what she didnt expect - was Tyler Weston (NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND ALERT!!).
Tyler is the complete opposite of Erin - he’s laid back and fun...the total epitome of an “island boy”. Annnd hes also the owner of a smile that could rip your panties clean off - hes THAT wickedly hot and sexy.
This book took me on a journey with Tyler and Erin - it had moments that frustrated the hell out of me to the point where I was pissed off at both of them and their choices, and it had the right amount of insanely hot, passionate love scenes. Just wait til you get to the headboard scene - Im not kidding when I say that I honestly texted a friend to say that Id just read the hottest sex scene in a book EVER ;)
I fell in love with both of these characters as their story unfolded, Chelsea’s style of writing has tugged on my heart strings like shes a damn puppet master! Tyler seemed to be the perfect match for Erin, he complimented her “crazy” amazingly well...one of my fave quotes from him:
“You need to learn to let go and see the good in everything, city girl. You keep thinking like that, and youll be six feet under and never have really lived your life. We’re all going to die someday. That doesnt matter. How you live matters. Its making it worth it.”
Their story wasnt an easy one, both came into it with baggage and a reluctance to find love...there was forces threatening to tear them apart and no matter the scenery (seriously, who WOULDNT want to fall in love in the Bahamas?!), vacations always come to an end…
Does Erin finally give up that all precious control?? Do City Girl and Island boy win their fight against all odds? This isnt one you want to miss….check out the book and find out for yourself ;)
Chelsea is a new author, and I have a feeling that we are going to be seeing a lot more of her work in the future...annnnd if we dont - we’re gonna be banging down the door demanding more books like this one - its what wicked girls do ;)
Really enjoyed this book. Erin is a control freak. She keeps her life in perfect order, that makes her the perfect PA to the rich and famous. When her boyfriend breaks up with her for her controlling ways, she accepts an invite to the Bahamas with her best friend and her finance.
That's where she meets Tyler, her island boy. She becomes his city girl and a one night stand turns into a two week vacation affair that allows Tyler to show Erin who she really is.
Can she leave her island boy? Can she go back to her everyday life? You need to read it to find out.
This is a great book about self discovery and the power of love. When yin is lucky enough to meet its yang.
I received this book an as ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really good book, I enjoyed it so much, I almost finished it in one day, had I was feeling better.
The story was great, the characters were even better. I'm sure alot of woman went crazy over Tyler, I mean who wouldn't?!!!!
There story was just awesome, and the wayErin did the whole 360 turn around was awesome. I think I would have done the same thing, had I was in that situation.
Tyler freaking Weston. You’ve stolen my heart. Or I’ll take a line from the book - “Your whiskey sour set my soul on fire” Interested? You definitely should be. Let’s talk about why.
This book is, in a nutshell, about a girl who goes on vacation and finds her true self. Along the way, she meets a bartender who woos her and sweeps her off of her feet. Will a one-night (or eleven-night) stand turn into something more though? Hmm…good question.
Meet Erin (I have to say, it is AMAZING reading your own name as the main character) – Controlling and organized. I swear, you’ll be on her side in no time. Don’t let the negative characteristics scare you away. She’s just strong and independent. She knows what she wants from life and that’s the way it is. There’s nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. She’s definitely not your timid, innocent little heroine like we’re all used to though. For me, that made her stand out even more from the crowd. Watching Erin transform from the type of woman she was to whom she becomes was so enjoyable.
And then there’s Tyler. Tyler Tyler Tyler. I love him. Truly, honestly, seriously…I’m in LOVE with him. Tyler works as a bartender at his family-owned bar. He’s sexy, witty, charming, and hilarious. He’s romantic, and not at all what you think he is when you first meet him. He’s adorable but hot at the same time. I could keep going, so I’ll stop but you see what I’m saying. When I pick up a book and expect to love it, a Tyler Weston-type character is what I’m hoping will be unveiled in those pages. Basically…he’s IT. He’s everything we love. (Can I add that reading a line where he uses the name Erin felt like he was speaking to me?! Swoon)
Overall, this book is so carefree, lighthearted, and so funny. There are some intense moments that will break your heart, but for a large majority of the book, you’ll be giggling with delight. The writing is great. You’ll feel connected to these characters and their passion for one another. If I could give a book more than 5 stars, I would for Come Sundown. Chelsea Landon wrote a fantastic novel, and I can’t wait for book 2.
<3 Erin __________________________
As a lot of you may remember, Chelsea Landon’s Something Worth Saving, had a very personal story to me. But it was also excellently written. You felt every emotion. It was an amazing book. When I heard about Come Sundown, I actually thought, could she do it again? Especially with a book that wasn’t as heavy and angsty as Something Worth Saving. And OMG she did! She totally did.
I LOVE THIS BOOK! There’s no other way to say it. I love this book enough to BEG Chelsea to write more about them. This book was not enough of Erin and Tyler, especially Tyler. Yum! Erin is interesting. She isn’t your typical book heroine. And I think that’s what I love about her, oh and she’s named after my blog mate. That doesn’t hurt. She has OCD. Not crazy OCD but she likes things a certain way. She’s busy. She’s a bit crazy. She even schedules sex. Yup, she does. And she isn’t afraid to say she’s a bit crazy. Maybe not in so many words but she knows she has issues.
Tyler, OH Tyler! He is an island boy. He lives in the Bahamas. He’s laid back, cool, sexy but has a darkness/bad boy to him. And what a great combo those make. Oh, and he has amazing blue eyes. I want a real life Tyler. I do.
They meet in the Bahamas, where Tyler lives and Erin goes on vaca with her BFF Natalie and Natalie’s fiancé. Don’t worry about his name. He’s not worth remembering. First night there, Natalie abandons Erin to hang with her fiancé and Erin goes exploring, finding a bar right on the beach. She goes there looking for a one night stand and instead she finds Tyler, the bartender, and the rest is history. Lots of drunken history since the first night she asks him to make her every drinking imaginable.
This books is funny and sexy and just the right amount of angst without taking away the fun-ness of the book. I highly recommend it.
Chelsea Landon is a perfect example of why I love indie authors. Come Sundown was refreshing, romantic, and irresistibly HOT.
"I just like when the sun goes down. A chance to break free from the heat and be your self."
I discovered Chelsea through a group of amazing bloggers I run with, and seriously - I am BEYOND glad I did. I was attracted to this book because 1) it's indie and 2) my friends wouldn't shut up about how swoon worthy Tyler was. I have to admit, picking it up I worried a bit... and island romance? This has to be insta-love material, right?
Wrong. So, so f***ing wrong.
"You get one life, Erin. One. That's it. Who cares what anyone thinks about what you're doin'? If you're happy, that's all that should ever matter."
So, you can read the synopsis to get a feel for what this book is about, but in my own terms - it's about rewriting everything you thought was right in life. It's about facing heartbreak head on, letting that inner voice in you break through, finding out what is meant for you and then fighting to make it yours. Erin and Tyler are both so beautifully damaged that the only thing that made sense when they lit each other's worlds on fire was for them to fix each broken part of the other person.
I loved so much about this book. The sensory details were vivid and breathtaking. I've been to the Bahamas and this book made me feel like I was right back in Nassau. Chelsea has an amazing way with describing character interactions and I found myself swooning over Tyler before the boy had even opened his mouth. I felt the heat between Erin and Tyler from the first time they met until the very last scene.
Erin: "What scares you in life?" Tyler: "Everything about you."
I also loved the author's deeper meanings laced within the story line. Yes, this is a love story - but it's so much more than that, too. This is a tale of discovery, of brokeness, of acceptance. Tyler grounded Erin and she drove him insane - it was a perfect mess.
When I think of loving someone, I think of myself as holding a firecracker in my hand and that person has the lighter. Some people close their first around that firecracker. Others just let it sit there knowing damn well they're going to get burned but wanting to limit the damage. People like Tyler closed their fists automatically. They knew there was a possibility of losing their hand but they did it anyway.
I loved that this book was a light, fun read at times and yet it also sucked you in and held your heart in its grips. You thought you could come out unscathed, but then things went down and you felt yourself falling deeper. I was gripping my phone (Kindle app) at one point and biting my bottom lip so hard I thought I might draw blood. Tyler said Erin broke him, but I think he broke me.
"So you don't feel anything for me? No. That's bullshit, and you know it."
Come Sundown is a stunning and insanely charming story of freeing yourself from the past and diving into what could be the most terrifying future - but what might also be the most incredible ride. Chelsea Landon has stolen my reader heart and found a lifetime fan in me. Bravo!
I want to give this 5++++ stars My second book from Chelsea that I have read and I am a complete fan , will read anything she writes and if I was to ever meet her I would totally fangirl !! Her writing is so real , full of emotion and fun , the characters have real life issues and talk real life things. I find myself laughing out loud because I am reading lines my husband actually uses and thinks are hysterical !! I just find her stories to be very comfortable to read , just enough drama , great sex and again just so easy to relate to.
Erin is a control freak !! Loves list and organization , wants her days and her life to be mapped out and following a certain path. This has caused a lot of failed relationships , making her seem to be boring and cold. At this point she thinks her bestie Natalie has the perfect life , great guy, getting married and going on a trip to the Bahamas. When some plans fall through Erin ends up joining them on the trip and it is here on this spur of the moment vacation that she needs to decide , can I step out of the box and learn to live life the way it should be or do I stick to my assumptions that letting go is not ok ??
Tyler is a typical "island boy" bartender. Hot , charming and great at his job. Although the book is not in his POV you get a glimpse into his thoughts and they are refreshing. He has had his heart broken but he has chosen to live life to the fullest and take risks and just enjoy what he has been given. Immediately sparks fly between Tyler and Erin and it is fun. Their banter is hysterical and I love being at the bar with them watching Tyler make drinks for her while she tries every drink on the menu. It may seem that Tyler is a ladies man , but he does not give up much info so he is quite the mystery. But a yummy mystery he is !! Shots off my thighs anyone !! Erin and Tyler go on a whirlwind journey in a matter of days , it is full of fun , HOT SEX , drinks, drama and you really want this to go on forever.
I do not want to give much away so I will focus on what I loved !! All of it !! I loved it all !! Their connection is phenomenal , their past stories are heartbreaking and also very telling of their actions. The chapters start out with the name and recipe for all the drinks and I really want to find an "island boy" and have him mix these up for me !! The way Erin and Tyler come together , fall apart and then reunite is so full of emotion , the changes in them both are so apparent you cannot help but fall in love with them and follow through until the end. The end which is beautiful !! Go buy this book and read it !! You will not be sorry....
If you visit a place called Paradise what would you expect to find? Beautiful beaches, drinks by the blue water, gorgeous island boys, a way just to forget your life for a little while; well that is exactly what Erin found and so much more. Erin could have never guessed what was in store for her when she decided to take her friend up on the trip to the Bahamas. She felt as though her life was falling apart. She was the epitome of an obsessive control freak, so to have her world crumbling around her didn’t work for her. But she had no idea what she was in for when she sat down at the little bar on the beach and met her island boy, Tyler Weston. Tyler Weston was the island boy with the looks and charm to make any girl melt. He could flirt with the best of them, but he had no idea what an affect city girl, Erin, was going to have on him and his life when she sat down at his bar and decided to try every drink on the menu. The instant attraction that Erin had for Tyler was undeniable, she just had no idea that he did truly what to be whatever she needed. Neither one knew what could come from their one night stand, or eleven day stand, but the ride that they were in for made an amazing story. There were so many great quotes throughout this book. Some were silly and sweet and others had great meaning for life, this one in particular from Tyler to Erin really touched me: “You need to learn to let go and see the good in everything, city girl. You keep thinking like that, and you’ll be six feet under and never have really lived your life. We’re all going to die someday. That doesn’t matter. How you live matters. It’s making it worth it.” This book is about love lost and love found, about living life to the fullest and not just living but making the choice to LIVE. This story made me laugh and it made me cry. The characters are loveable and relatable; Chelsea Landon did an amazing job capturing the true essence of living life to the fullest through the story of Erin and Tyler… I am so glad that I read it and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I loved Tyler. Such a easy going carefree "island boy" but had a side that was serious and full of hope and dreams. Took life as it was and never let people see what he didn't want them to. He was so amazing and kind but fierce and protective when needed. His falling head over heels was so sweet and she did to except she let her mind and OCD takeover. Bad Erin Bad. I can understand a little, I mean Erin was just kicked to the curb and now without a job and joined her friend who was engaged to a douche on their celebration to the islands. She walks into the bar with the intent of getting drunk and a one night stand (which that was a salacious and hawt moment- poor headboard) and ended up finding someone who accepted her as is and she started to fall for him.
Erin went back day after day and Tyler brought her to the island he knew and loved. Showed Erin who he was and trusted her with his heart. Erin started to loosen up and find herself as well. But she let silly girls get in her mind and not let herself listen to her heart. Fear and words from others filtered through and she hurt Tyler and in the process herself.
Tyler truly loves her and she him but her fears and thinking she couldn't be in love took over. Eventually she did something stupid (yes more stupid than what she did to hurt Tyler) and he came to her rescue. But their time was now limited and he did want her to stay. Even after she left he held out hope.
erin wasn't ready though. She needed to resolve her guilt and say goodbye before she could move on and become who she was meant to be. When this finally did occur and she got back to the island, Tyler couldn't even believe she was real and in front of her. So beautiful Tyler is.
A book on letting go of your fears so you can find love and something truly amazing. About finding out who you really are and letting go to trust the one who loves you will catch you when you fall. A wonderful sweet read.
Have you had a holiday fling? That connection that you make, knowing that its only a short term thing? Something that will consume you, that you allow to consume you, knowing full well that it ends when you board your plane, leaving for your normal life. What if you fall for your fling? What if it changes who you are and what you want from your life. But, what if you think you're incapable of change? What if you deny your own wants and needs for what you think you should do?What happens when you board that plane, leaving a piece of your heart behind and taking a piece of "Island boy" with you? Erin is high maintenance. A control freak if ever there was one, she's describe by her exes as controlling, cynical and conceited. When her best friend, Natalie, and her fiancé (Gunner - who is a total arse!) invite her to the Bahamas with them to help her get over her latest failed relationship, Erin meets Tyler, a.k.a Island Boy. Tyler is Erin's holiday fling. He's hot and takes her mind off her woeful daily life... But there's a look in his eyes. There's something more going on. What happened to Tyler? You're left wanting to know what Tyler's story is. What - or who - happened to him? Left wanting to get to know him more intimately. The location of this story is beautifully depicted and you can almost feel the sand between your toes, hear the waves crash along the shore.I found the editing glitches rather frustrating. Little things (extra or missing words) that could so easily have been picked up and corrected ("...when they spoke and it I hadn't gotten used to that.")I also thought the last quarter of the book lagged a bit. There's a bit to much explaining from Erin and not enough action. However, it is still a sweet story that anyone who's ever had a passionate, fleeting romance will identify with.
I rated Come Sundown with FOUR AND ONE HALF leaves! This was a fun read. The book starts off with Erin. Erin is a complete control freak in every aspect of her life. She has always been that way and that is why she is perfect at her job. Erin is personal assistant for the rich and famous. Her most current client is Trent who is a professional athlete. Trent also was her boyfriend. I use the term WAS because he dumped her. Erin can be a bit controlling and Trent couldn’t take it any longer. When Natalie, Erin’s best friend, invites her to the Bahamas, she decides to go. The only problem with the Bahama trip is that Erin will be the third wheel since Natalie’s fiancé is also going to be on the trip. Erin decides for her first night in the Bahamas that she needs to go out to a bar by herself and just let go. That is exactly what she does. This is also the night that she meets Tyler, the perfect bartender that she likes to call island boy. Island boy makes a perfect mixed drink and Erin decides she’s not leaving the bar until she tries all the drinks on the menu. What Erin thinks is a one night stand turns into a whirlwind romance that she wasn’t prepared for. Erin is only in the Bahamas for 11 days. Can Erin return to her life of planning for everyone else and leave her island boy behind? Tyler really showed Erin a side of himself he wasn’t planning to share. Can he just let Erin leave him for good? This read was enjoyable because every girl wonders what it would be like to go on a tropical vacation and meet the hot local boy. I watched enough chick flicks growing up to want the vacation fling. If you are looking for a fun and quick read, this is your book. I sure can’t wait to read what happens next in the Island Sun Series.
A gifted copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review by Lo.
I got this book because it was a 99 cent deal and after reading the description was excited to get into it right away, since I spent many weeks in the Bahamas when I was a young woman, having fallen for an "island boy" myself. At first it moved a little slow for me and I wasn't sure I was going to like it...and then OH MY...it got really interesting and smoking hot sexy pretty fast and I was sucked in. And it made me cry and laugh and I loved how each chapter started off with an interesting drink recipe (pretty cool) and honestly, what's not to like about a dream vacation that turns into your life? I absolutely loved the feelings that Chelsea Landon delves into and brings out in not only the reader, but the characters. I can tell you, having spent so much time living in Nassau that her descriptions were accurate (Atlantis is a beautiful resort on Paradise Island but downtown Nassau can be a very dangerous place) and the feelings the locals have towards the tourists and vise versa was spot on. This was a very personal book for me because although my own engagement to a native did not work out, I completely felt every emotion that Erin felt for her gorgeous bartender Tyler, and I was rooting for them to somehow make their vacation fling work. Looking forward to the next book about her best friend Natalie...and her big secret. A fun, sexy and emotionally satisfying love story...perfect book to take on a summer vacation to the beach!
***** 5 ***** "I'll take a Sex on the Beach please" stars =)
In Come Sundown, We meet a girl named Erin. Erin is a hard working young woman with a good head on her shoulders. She has just went throw a horrible break up her Ex says she was to controlling and always had to be in control of everything! Erin didn't agree she just liked things organized after all that's what she did for a job her life should be the same right??
Well Erin's best friend Natalie and her soon to be husband go on a pre-wedding vacation to the Bahamas and ask Erin to go along to get her out of her depression and get her to live a little again. Little did Erin know going With would not only be the best thing for her, It would for ever change her life.
Natalie and Gunner went out on there own once there and left Erin to her own, so she went out down the beach and explored some. Little did she know she was going to be spending the rest of her days at a little beach side bar, Trying every Drink on the menu. All while having the best vacation, fling with Tyler the bartender of the bar. And all the ladies want him. But he pays no attention to them only Erin, He told her that first night he would be what ever she wanted him to be. What happens when it's time for Erin to go home?
Come Sundown was a fun read I laughed, I got mad, I almost throw my kindle. these characters will make you want to shake them and ask them what the heck there thinking but. In the end it's amazing and perfect and just how it should be! I feel in love and can say I can't wait for more! I give Come Sundown 5+ stars*****
Honestly, this was a good book once I got through the first few pages of Erin's rant. Erin is controlling and wants thing her way. She is the very definition of OCD to a tee! I got it, she likes things a certain way, let's move on! Finally she makes a spontaneous choice that changes everything.
Erin heads to the Bahamas with her best friend Natalie and Natalie's fiancee. Who wouldn't want to have some fun in the sun with your BFF? Soak up some sun, have a couple of drinks, and a lot of harmless fun. This was the plan until Erin meets Tyler Weston...."island boy" Tyler is polar opposite of Erin, laid back and enjoying the island life. OH, and Erin was just dumped a few weeks ago and lost her job, what better way to escape than to drown your sorrows in a beautiful place, with a good looking bar tender?
This book is the journey of Erin and Taylor and what a journey they have! There were times I just wanted to smack them or shake them. I love the flirting between these two at the bar and the sex scenes.......HOT!
Erin may have her baggage of being recently dumped but Tyler isn't without faults too. Both of these two have been through some heartache and are reluctant to put their hearts out there again. Plus, this is a vacation and let's face it, at some point it has to end right? Well, you will just have to read to find out!
Is there a happy ending or heart break? Does Erin learn to chill and give up some control? Is Tyler always laid back?
Romantic story of love found on a beach bar in Bahamas. Finding love when you least expect and having faith in it and each other.
Erin Evans does not trust men especially when her father left her and her mom when she was growing up and her boyfriend dumped her on Valentine’s Day. When her best friend Natalie Fisher and fiancé Gunner invites her on their pre wedding trip to the Bahamas after Gunner’s brother had to cancel, she reluctantly accepts.
On the first night she ends up at an outdoor bar and precedes to make her way through the drink menu as the happy couple spends some alone time together. Erin gets friendly with the island bartender Tyler Weston as they flirt while she gets drunk. They end up sleeping together at her hotel room figuring it was just a one night stand.
Erin find herself back at the bar once again as she is attract to him. She orders more drinks and he ends up once again in her hotel room. They end up spending more time together as he shows her the island. As her time to leave approaches she makes him jealous so that she can break their relationship before she leaves but somehow they end up closer where Tyler does not wants her to leave but she does.
They admit their love but she is too afraid to be hurt again and will not trust males. Will Erin learn to let go and let love in her life? Are they meant for each other or will she never see him again?
“I’ve watched you wrap these sweet lips around straws all night. You had to know I was imaging them wrapped around my dick!”
OMG! Did that grab your attention? Erin Evans is a personal assistant from Phoenix. She likes to have control of every aspect of her life and those of her clients. After a recent breakup, Erin’s best friend Natalie extends an invitation to the Bahamas.
“I’d found him. I’d find the one who was going to give these eleven days in paradise exactly what I’m looking for”
Presumptuous Erin has no idea what she was getting into with filthy flirty mouthed Tyler. Bartender aka “island boy”, treats Erin like any other city girl. That is until, their attraction towards one another is too hard to fight. Steamy scenes were definitely hot! You won’t be disappointed in their sexual adventures around the island! Whew!
Beautiful descriptions of the Bahamas, took me away on a mini vacation. Character development was good. Erin was the most improved character. Oh and I especially loved the cocktail recipes that marked each chapter. It was a fun way to add individuality. I am excited to see what Chelsea Landon has is store for the Island Sun series! 4 smooches for Chelsea Landon’s Come Sundown, it definitely whisked me away!
Come Sundown (Island Sun Series #1) by Chelsea Landon 5 out of 5 stars
This book seemed like a vacation fantasy come to life. What single woman wouldn’t want to go on a vacation to the Bahamas and meet a gorgeous bartender who is also sweet and charming!? That was the expectation I had of this book, and it delivered completely. It was a fun and lighthearted read, but it did have some deep moments. You can’t completely turn your brain off for this one, but you can certainly have fun. Tyler, “don’t call me Ty”, is adorable and a definite hottie! I fell in love right along with Erin, and I don’t have near as many hang-ups as she does.
Ms. Landon makes her characters seem like real people you might just bump into on the street, or in a bar on an island in paradise. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series because I want to find out more about these wonderful characters I’ve come to love. They are funny, interesting, so sweet, and let’s not forget smoking hot! This is a great beach read, or rainy day read, or just an anytime read. Very well-written and highly recommended!

** I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review. **
I loved the blurb for this book and was excited when I was selected to receive a review copy of the book. I began the book and at first was unsure how I was going to like it. The beginning moved a little slow for me but by the time it hit the first sex scene, the pace picked up tremendously!
Erin Evans is a control freak. She has to control everything in her little world, including her men. When her last boyfriend tires of her controlling ways and dumps her, she gets depressed. Then she goes on a Bahamas trip with her best friend, Natalie and Natalie’s fiancé. On her first night on vacation, Erin meets Tyler Weston, a local bartender. She looks at him as a quick one night stand to suppress her burning desires. Instead, the two embark on a two – week love affair filled with self – discovery. When it’s time for Erin to go home, will she choose her perfectly controlled life in Arizona or her Island Boy and spontaneity in the Bahamas?
This book by Chelsea London was wonderfully written although it started a little slow. I love the drink recipes that start off each chapter. This is a great summer read! I can’t wait for the next book of the series all about Natalie.
Erin life sucks at least that how she feels. Her boyfriend just dumped her and her best friend is not only perfect and gorgeous she just got engaged. So what better way to celebrate an engagement and get out of break up funk she is the third wheel on a vacation to the Bahamas. Erin is hilarious, spunky and I just love her thoughts and completely inappropriate remarks! She walks in a bar and wants to try every drink in the menu and she meets Tyler "island boy" he's tattooed, smart ass but fun and nice she decides she will take him back to her hotel for the night as and rebound. He says he will be whatever she wants him to be ....it ends up being more than one night and the whole 2 week vacation they spend together having fun and without realizing they are falling in love. Tyler opens up a whole new Erin one not OCD and uptight and more carefree she she loves who shes with when shes with her island boy. Going back home seems to stir up more feels than she thought. I loved this book and couldn't put it down I read it in a day. The ending was perfect and set it up amazing for book 2 about her best friend Natalie and her unexpecting not so happy ever after in the Bahamas. ..can't wait for book 2
4.5 stars Have to start by saying I'm impressed with this authors writing. This book was a great read and keeps you wanting more.
This story is about Erin who is a control freak and Tyler the island bartender. They meet on her first night of vacation in the Bahamas and the sparks fly. Tyler is every woman's island fantasy hook-up. Erin learns to enjoy herself and let Tyler be in control which is completely unlike her. You see her constantly battling with herself to live in the moment and not have everything in order. I enjoyed watching her evolve and let her guard down for her "island boy" Tyler.
"For years I've fought for control. I wanted everything planned so I wouldn't lose my way" Erin
Tyler is so much more than he first appears to be. Not only is he sexy, funny & great in bed, he is a really sweet man. The more you read the more you fall for Tyler.
"He was branding my soul right then; he knew it, too. He knew right then and there that I would never be the same after this. I could see it in his eyes. He was branding my heart and soul marking me only for him. A permanent reminder of everything we were experiencing". Erin
Just have to say I can't wait for book 2 to come out and see what's happening with all the characters.
I enjoyed this Bahama read! I loved the characters, their passion, spark, sense of humor and so much more! If you are looking for an awesome book to have with a drink, this is your book indeed!
Erin has been straight forward. Always wanting what she wants, not taking risks and plans everything out to a T. However, it never gets her anything she truly wants. It has her keeping her job, but nothing ever more. She is let go from a position and when her friend positions her to take a trip to the Bahamas, she agrees. Little did she know that when she gets there things will change?
Tyler has lived in the Bahamas. He enjoys his job at his parents bar for the most part. He thought he was enjoying his life until the unexpected Erin shows up at the bar and things change.
I loved Erin. I loved her spirit, her ways, her quirks and all. I loved who she was when she was with Tyler even when she was drunk! She's a spit fire and I loved that about her!
Tyler.. oh man! I enjoyed him! I loved everything he did and I felt sorry for him at times. I loved everything he did for Erin and who he made her be. He's sweet, possessive, jealous and a sexy as hell Bahamian man! ;)
Erin is used to controlling everything. She is independent and stubborn but don't let that fool you, She heads to the Bahamas with her best friend, Natalie and her fiance, Gunner. I loved Natalie and Erin's friendship. They were fun and hilarious. I laughed through probably 90% of this book because of all the crazy things Erin says. When Natalie and Gunner decide they want to spend sometime alone, Erin decides to go explore. When she ends up at a bar and meets Tyler. Oh..Tyler! -swoon- Tyler was the so sexy, charming and hilarious bartender of his family's bar they own on the island. He made me wish I had my own hot island boy. He has stolen my heart and I know he won't giving it back anytime soon. I don't want to go into too much detail because I want everyone to read about Tyler. I loved this book and think it would be a great beach or vacation read. It was light hearted and funny with the perfect amount of drama and angst. This was my first Chelsea Landon read but certainly won't be my last.
Come Sundown by Chelsea Landon is total ChickLit. I love it! ;) Looking for a light, easy read set in a tropical location? This is it. Chelsea Landon brings us characters that are a little lost, a little broken, and who have a whole lot of fun together.
Tyler Weston is absolutely swoon worthy and everything Erin didn’t realize she was looking for. She’s only on vacation for eleven days and Tyler lives there full time. What happens when the vacation is over and she must leave?
The characters were easy to relate to and made for an easy reading experience. I loved the story line and the easy flow of the book. This is the first Chelsea Landon book that Ive read, but I will definitely be picking up her other books.
There aren’t many twists and turns in Come Sundown, but if you like Lifetime movies (I do) then you will most definitely want this book so you can lose yourself for a bit. Lots of hot sex, some new cocktail recipes, and a good story make this a must read. This goes in my “beach read” pile.
This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review. Have you ever thought you were happy in your life, were relatively content, until some event changed your view? Erin liked order and had an overwhelming need to plan and organize everything in her life. When her boyfriend dumps her, she decides to go with her best friend and her fiance to the Bahamas. It is there that she meets Tyler who is the exact opposite of her. As they get to know one another, Erin realizes that maybe she wasn't as content and happy as she thought. During the course of her vacation, Erin learns a lot about the island, but more about herself. In addition to Erin and Tyler's story there is a back story involving her best friend and fiance. I can't wait for Chelsea Landon to explore that story line as well. This was a cute, engaging read that had very likable characters. Chelsea Landon's writing style made me giggle and sometimes laugh out loud. This would be a great summer beach read...or cruise read, especially if you are going to the Bahamas.
I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock. We all have that one friend who when they talk, create such energy, such buzz that you find yourself as excited as they are for the events they are telling us about. That is Erin, the heroine of this book. She went through a break-up and took a vacation to get away from it all and ended up having an amazing time with a guy named Tyler. You're kind of jealous that it wasn't you but can't help but feel her excitement and her worry as she spins a complex tale of how she found herself while in the Bahamas. The author provides complex characters with their own demons and struggles in a way that makes you feel for them, but the manner in which she tells the story is upbeat and fun. There were some adult scenes so i have to reccomend this book to the +18 audience who are looking for a sexy romance. I'm giving this one 5 fangs.
Come Sundown by Chelsea Landon is a touching romance about how you never know where you will find love.
Erin is a PA who lives in Phoenix. She is very specific about how her life is lead. Her current boyfriend/employer breaks up with her on Valentine’s day saying she is too cold and controlling.
Her best friend Natalie invites her on a trip to the Bahamas. It is at a cozy bar that she meets bartender Tyler. Erin is just looking for some fun and a one-night stand. Tyler however wants more.
Tyler is everything she wants but believes she can’t have. Erin thinks up every excuse she can to show that their relationship just cannot work out. Tyler is out to prove her wrong.
This book was a great light-hearted romance. Their were quite a few ups and downs and many times I felt myself shaking my head at how negative Erin could be. Tyler is hot and you just hoped that they would make it all through the book.
Sometimes you have to plunge into the unknown and the unplanned to experience life.
I knew this book and I were destined to love one another when I noticed each chapter starts with a cocktail recipe. It features the things I love most; beaches and cocktails. Erin is the heroine and the book is her POV. She is a little overwhelming and all over the place in the first few chapters. However, after 10% I was sucked into the tale of vacation love. I pulled a late night because I couldn't put it down! Tyler, aka "island boy" stole my heart and wanted to cuddle him. While I am not a usual fan of "insta love", I highly enjoyed their journey. There are enough real wold elements that made it believable. While this is my first book from Chelsea Landon, it definitely will not be my last!
If you are looking for a great summer read, give this book a chance! It appears there will be an additional book, but it will feature another couple.
Loved this story! It was one of those books where I zoned out from reality and I could not put down. Very well written and the characters were amazing. Loved Tyler and Erin. Sometimes it takes a few chapters before I am drawn into a book, but not with this one. It had me from the beginning. I hated to see it end. I'm not going to be able to get this one out of my head. Will be anxiously awaiting Come Sunrise. But for now I will be trying out some of those cocktail recipes and dreaming of going to the Bahamas.
Taking a challenge of trying ever drink on the menu is sometimes like taking a chance with your heart....
Tyler and Erin love story was mixed with exotic blends of humor, truths, and sex all coming together making the perfect cocktail. I was in awe of how he knew what she needed better than she did but in the end she listened and let go of her ways.
I can't wait for book two, Chelsea captured my interest on what is to come.
A great, feel-good book that will have you feeling the island spirit (and island spirits!!!) while falling in love with Tyler!!! A definite must-read and am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series. Chelsea has outdone herself in this book...and be prepared to want to book a trip to Nassau and Atlantis Resort after you finish because you are going to want to try all the drinks that Tyler the bartender makes and fall in love as you watch the setting sun in the Caribbean.
What can I say "AMAZING REFRESHING READ"!!!! I dragged this book out as much as I could I so didn't want it to end!!! Erin wanted control over every aspect of her life then she meets Tyler while on vacation in the Bahamas !!! Let me just say you will fall head over heels in love with Tyler!! And yes you will cry in this book so be prepared!!! Can't wait for the next book in the series !!! Thank you Chelsea you rock!!!
