E.F. Townsend holds various degrees in both painting and music, and her love of traveling and architecture led her to the exploration of the beautiful buildings in Old Louisville. She found an abundance of inspiration in the Beaux-Art style homes with their Bohemian flair and charming histories and became enamored with the locale and its people. Her passion for reading, storytelling, and a good ghost story, led her to create her debut novel, The Mirrors. She lives in northern Indiana near her family and frequently runs off to explore abandoned buildings with haunted reputations, or wherever there is the possibility of new adventure and inspiration.
This was an interesting read. The plot was unique and had lots of twists and turns and on that level I enjoyed reading this book for the mystery of what was happening on Kyron. The problem I had was I didn't like any of the characters, I could not get invested in one of them, especially the main character. I found myself not caring if any of them died by the end of the book as long as I got the answer to the mystery of what was happening on Kyron.
That being said I would definitely try another book by this author to see if they have managed to get a better balance in the future.
I would definitely say this book is worth the read if you enjoy sci fi and mystery but if you are someone that needs characters to help you sink into the story maybe give it a skip.
Her sister has disappeared and she will do anything to find them even traveling to to the Jupiter. There she will find things are not as she thought they would be. Earth has been taking ice so earth can have water which is running out. Life is going to get more complicated and dangerous as she tries to find the answers as well as her sister. See just what is going to happen for them all I received an advance copy from hidden gems and I was quickly pulled into her search for her sister
When I read the synopsis for Kyron, I really loved the premise to the story. I found the book to be entertaining, adventurous, and fun. I did find the writing style to be geared more toward young adults, and think that they would especially love it. Thank you Hidden Gems for the opportunity to read the ARC. It definitely was an enjoyable read.
