This is Book 1 in The Playgirls series, Catch and Release
Men are nothing but toys to the Playgirls. Chelsea, Katherine and Alyssa amuse themselves with an invented game of “Catch and Release” every summer, using and abusing the handsome males they come across. The girls have been friends since Junior High where they were dubbed the “Playgirls”. The graduate students’ final year of college is filled with parties, theater, and of course, boy toys!
Katherine is a beautiful and talented actress, setting eyes on the new director.
Chelsea is a self-proclaimed cougar in the making and prowls the college campus for her newest willing boy to flirt with. Her freshman beau takes the bait, but will another playgirl steal him from beneath her?
Alyssa, the quietest of the three, finds herself with more than one man on her “to-do” list. She is torn between an old flame and a rich man’s son, always searching for her perfect match.
In Catch and Release you are introduced to three bold and beautiful women on the cusp of life. There is more to them then men, sex and parties though. They don’t know it yet, but life is never what one expects, and it is about to get complicated. Very complicated...
New Adult Romance author. Reading was my earliest passion, often seeking the sanctuary of my room or the library to read everything I could get my hands on. I penned romantic poetry in high school and was winning school awards for my short stories at 16. In college I would hibernate in the library for days at a time, consuming every short story and novel I could find.
I probably drink too much coffee and eat too much junk food, but to compensate do like running and rollerblading outdoors when the weather is nice. I'm a hopeful romantic who prefers stories with a happy ending. You can often find me in a library or coffee shop working on my next story, or with my nose in a book.
After already reading some of Clarissa Carlyle's books, I couldn't wait to read this one as I had a feeling that it was going to be equally as good as the rest.
To Katherine, Chelsea and Alyssa boys are just toys as these girls are known as the play girls. Ever summer for as long as they can remember they have played a game known as Catch and Release, with this game they turn on the charms and see how many boys they can catch and Release by the time summer comes to an end. As this is their final year in college they want to have as much fun as possible and of course see how many boys they can get.
Katherine is smart, pretty and a very talented actress, and when she meets her new theatre director she can't help but try and get him for herself even if it's against the rules.
Alyssa is the quietest out of the three girls and somehow she manages to have more than one guy on her 'to do' list. The problem that she ends up having is that having to chose between an old flame of hers and a guy who's rich because of his father, but she is always searching for the right guy who's her perfect match.
Chelsea goes around the campus looking for her next willing victim, one of the freshmen guys take the bait, but there is a slight chance that one of the playgirls might steal him from her.
For their final year all three girls start off having so much fun but then things start to change because instead of trying to find new guys each week they end up pinning for the ones that they met the first week. The last thing that any of them were expecting was to fall in love, will they be able to give in to what they truly want or will they just ignore it all and just continue on with their Catch and Release game. The only way to find out is by reading this book and just to let you know that this is the first book in a three part series. You don't want to miss anything.
I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Playgirls 1 is the story of three girlfriends who put their friendship first, Men come second. They are all in their early twenties and they play the field. There is sex, some sin and like their male counterparts competition to see who is the Hottest among them.It reminded me a little of Sex and the City. A quick fun easy read with some unexpected twists and turns.
I recieved this for a honest review. Thank u Mrs. Carlyle for this chance. i really injoyed reading this. it had me hooked from the first page. Now on to book two.
Tbis is a story of three girls who r best friend. These girls play games tbat ive never heard of and i would try if i wasnt maried. lol, Oooo yes i would. Thank u again for a awesome story.
I read the book. I did not like the book. I did not like the characters. Who would want to have a relationship or have anything to do with girls like these and for that manner any of the guys they seemed be attracted to? Everyone of them are very shallow self serving individuals who use others for their own selfish self gratification. Not only do they not care for anyone else most of the characters do not even think much of themselves. The only thing that seems important to them is physical gratification. I read the synopsis for each of the books that follow in this series but I am not the least bit interested.
Catch and Release, the first book in the Playgirls series, is wonderfully written, fun, flirty, and the perfect summer read/listen. Given the length, the story is not too rushed, leaving you satisfied. True to Clarissa Carlyle's style, the storyline captures the attention with delightful characters. Three best friends decide on to seducing and tempting men, "catch & release" them, and I can't help but wonder if their game will backfire.
Laurie West's narration was to the point, capturing the character's personalities and engaging the listeners. I definitely enjoyed the start of the series and will continue with the rest.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review. This was a great romance. I was pulled in right away and didn't want to put this book down until I finished. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
ARC. Recieved for an honest review...... I really wanted to like this book. I knew it wasn't going to be intense or mind breaking but I really couldn't even get a good flow with the story. When a title is " The Playgirls" you think lots of hot sex or even crazy girls having lots of fun. I felt like the craziness would start but never follow through. I get the girls liked to have fun but I'm not sure where the author is going with it. Like I said I really wanted to like this book but.... Maybe when I read the next 2 it will give me more in site or more of a story.
This is a must read I loved the playgirls they are so who I want to be I love their take no crap attitude thia book is absolutely amazing can not wait for book 2
