Forgetting who you are is hard, but not as hard as remembering. Remembering that you have no idea how to face your demons, how to save the lost. Charlie is at a sacred threshold.
The ‘glass box’, as she calls it, is slowly falling. Her childhood has ended. The moment she has yearned for, the moment where she can go and do anything, anything at all without seeking permission is now. She’d dreamed of this time, all of her friends had, but now that it’s here, she doesn't know which way to run, or if she should even run at all.
Charlie knew that running would be a goodbye forever, and she didn’t want that, she wanted to freeze the time she was in, to stay in the calm before the storm, the illusion that she could out with the ones who seek her, hold the one she loves, and play the music that gives her passion. She’ll soon discover no one can hide from their fate, that time does not stop in place, and that whether she chooses to perceive it or not, the darkness has come.
What Charlie feared most, losing him, is a threat now more than ever. A realm, a dark and twisted dream world has called him, and now she must fight to save him, and others like him. Standing in her way is a soul from another life, a boy that promises that he will destroy her world, to save her life. With this threat in hand, with the dark path that her friends are on, Charlie must fight to find a way to leave, to trust that beyond her dimension there are souls that can help her, help all of them. The only question is, will she find them before it's to late, and if she can't, how is she going to use her gift, the gifts they all share to save them.
I'm an obsessive daydreamer. Lover of loud alternative music. I love to laugh until it hurts. Fall is my favorite season. Black is my favorite 'shade.' Strong believer in the saying: there is a reason for everything, therefore I search for 'marked moments' every moment of everyday...and I find them. Life is beautiful!
Forgetting who you are is hard, but not as hard as remembering...
. Witness is book two in the series and Jamie has certainly taken us on a journey of discovery with this one. Charlie is still trying to recover from the outcome in the last book, and with such devastation, she is finding it hard to SEE ..
Not being able to remember or see - is certainly taking its toll on her, and also affecting her every day becomings. All she wants to do is protect the ones she loves , but not being able to do so is affecting her in more ways than one.
She meets a new person- (( mysteriously hot )) lol - who promises to help her but at dire costs. She is still unsure whom she can trust. Trying To help Draven from the dark side is affecting Charlie as well. She finds that remembering is not easy.
Jamie still gives us the music aspect throughout this read, entwining music within the storyline, giving us a plot that is gradually paced, and intriguingly suspenseful to read on. This series that Jamie has created is one of a kind. I can guarantee the plot and outline of the stories alone will have your interest piqued. She has crafted her characters with flaws, not perfect – but this comes along realistic to me. Characters that I have and still enjoy much so.
Questions from book one is put forth, and we are certainly filled with many aspects during this read.
Jamie has put forth her emotions and descriptions well, even the darker side – the ghosts that whisper... That kind of gives me the creeps, but fits so perfectly within the story outline.
Whisper is a riveting and suspenseful read , filled with engaging characters that are woven throughout. Worlds entwined, and living in a world where not all as it seems. Being able to see – doesn’t always have its advantages ! What would you do if you could see the past, look into the eyes of someone and SEE….. ??
Overall a great addition to the Series. Jamie Magee is one author I follow and will continue to read.
When I read the first book in this series, See, I was blown away, impressed, spellbound, impressed... you get the picture. I could not wait to read the second book in this series and it turns out that it was just as amazing as the first. Witness is a bit darker than book one, which I enjoyed. That might not be an accurate statement. It might be that the story was always this dark, but until Charlie became more aware and "awake" we did not see it as such.
I think what I loved most about this book is the way the author lets us discover all of the mysteries of their powers and their world along with the main character. I was always wondering what would happen next and who was there to help and who might not really be a good guy after all. This made the interpersonal relationships extra intriguing. It would have been easy for the author to have given us a lot more information up front, but the way she did it kept me spellbound.
There is no way anyone is going to keep me from reading the next book in this series when it is released in January (I believe it is January). It is such a unique and intriguing story. The whole concept is genius. I would not recommend this book be read before you read See. Seriously, the series is awesome so far, so you will not be wasting your time. If you like para and are looking for something different, this series is definitely a safe bet, in my opinion. This book is clean enough for me to recommend for older teens, but compelling and deep enough for me to recommend for adults.
I was given an arc of this book as part of a blog tour.
Witness is an excellent sequel to See. In a way it passes See up. The characters are so much better and you see more into them. It starts right after See ends and the action starts right away. Charlie is at the stage to were she can make her own choices but some still want to treat her like a little kid that doesn't need to know everything and to be kept in a safe place. She starts to doubt her abilities some which would happen to anyone when you get treated that way. She finds that she is the one who can save the one she loves but she believe in herself. There is a few new characters brought in that make a nice addition to the group.
It is hard to review a book that is so good without giving spoilers. I will say Jamie Magee has done it again with the magic of her writing bringing theses characters and their music come to life. It is a truly original idea that keeps flowing nicely as the story goes along. You want to read more and more cause the action keeps going at a beautiful pace. If you want something original, magical and beautiful to read pick up this series and give it a try.
I absolutly adore Jamie´s writing style. And this book was no exception. I liked it just as much as the others. So without adoubt I give it 5 out of 6 stars
I can´t wait to read more of her books. Cause I attend to live myself so much in to her stories. And care of the characters. Specially the guys :P and there are several of them.
Her writing is full of love and magic. The story full of mystery and spirit :) I am just speachless and hungry for more :)
Thought this was amazing. Ordered it 9am on the 19th finished round 3am. I could not put it down!!! Keeps you gripped on the story wondering what is going on and how this will fit into the Insight series (also wonderful). Have so many ideas on how things can go, but that is the fun part! Reading about Charlie and Dravens love just makes me feel the need to love my husband as much. Great book, must read!
This book is a must read along with Jamie Magee series.. I started reading her books about a week ago and I have read all of them :) Insight series, SEE and now Witness!! It has a captivating story about soul mates, right and wrongs. If your looking for a story to get lost in this is one for you . Enjoy :)
I love how Landon and Willow's fight is tied to Charlie and Draven. I am so looking forward to seeing all of the players start to emerge. I am rereading these books because I have yet to read the last couple of books, so I know that there are many more players to this story. I thoroughly enjoy all of the intricacies of this series.
Another gem by Jamie Magee!! I didn't think i could love a character more then Willow Haywood....But hi Charlie!!..I love her just as much!! This book made me cry ...and smile. I just love the writing style. Thank u for such an awesome read!
Continuing my reread of the whole WOHAS series with Witness reminded me again why I love Charlie and Draven. Their darkness and musical environment just pulls me in and I want to understand every little secret of their story.
In Witness, I loved seeing Charlie's personality shine though. It's way more apparent than in the first installment of this sub-series, See. And she's playing more and more with her insight too, which does not really happen in See because... Well... She kinda forgot how to.
I can't wait to read Vindicate and see the two worlds colliding. Everything is ready for it to happen! Now, I know it's going to get darker and darker, but the satisfaction of Willow meeting Madison and Charlie just makes me squeal inside!!
Also in Witness I tried comprehending what was up with Madison and Britain but I still can't figure it out... The first time I read the book, I just didn't understand their dynamic. Now I see a few hints at something intriguing and I'd like to understand his intentions better... I have a theory but it's not complete...
Anyway, Witness is a perfect sequel for our favorite music lovers, the new characters are very promising. Monroe is the wise and pure energy that was missing from See. I feel like she makes the perfect link between the two series. She reminds me of Preston and Libby but fits with Charlie and her friends more.
You can see the web tangling and getting bigger and bigger... At this point you just want to push the characters of the different series towards one another!
OK I have seriously enjoyed all of Jamie's books so far! Witness is the 2nd book in the See Series. I can't wait to see how it ties in with the other series Insight also.
Losing ones memory stinks. Being surrounded by demons and shadows well that's just plain scary! Until they are not there anymore and then that is scarier. Discovering the one you love is in the path of darkness well you can imagine! Jamie does a great job taking you into the lives of Draven, and Charlie. Charlie is a fierce , strong female character even when she thinks shes the weak link. She has quite a power.
You feel for Draven and Charllie and you definitely are turning page after page to see what happens next! Charlie makes it to Chara in this one in search of Landon and Willow. She meets Preston. Preston is one of my favorites (he seems like such a cute little boy and is definitely insightful and important in both series). I love the new character Monroe. I think she definitely adds depth and adds interest to the plot.
Jamie Magee you've done it again I can't wait to read book #3!
Just incredible... unbelievable. I get lost in the words Jamie has managed to bring to life within her books. After reading the Insight series where this gang was first introduced, it is nice to be able to get insight into their lives. What happened before, leading up to the time they meet and fight side by side with Willow and her people. I couldn't have asked for a better story.
One part that got me good was when Draven was on stage and dedicated the song to Charlie, saying its epic to write a song with your soul mate then said '' happy birthday, I love you, baby''. That whole scene was epic. It's something I think any girl would want her boyfriend, husband, whoever the love of their life is, to do for them. It broadcasted his love for her, his utter devotion. Ahh. Simply fantastic.
It's cool how in this series the characters when dealing with emotional struggles they turn to music to help work through their problems, it's something all readers can relate to. The plot was slowly kicking off with some procrastination at first but once the decision was made things fell into place smoothly I loved the flow of information and all the pieces connecting together with it's sister series, I'm really excited to read these two worlds colliding! The characters were bold and strong accepting their roles fiercely confronting the dangers that threaten to tear them apart with conquering victory.
Holy Crap! So much excitement, danger, anxiety - it seemed like I just flew through this book! Draven is just as yummy as ever and I am amazed at how patient and well-grounded he can be, no matter much crap he has to deal with! And Charlie, I can't believe she hasn't lost her mind completely! It was horrible not having her memories, but now she's beginning to realize things are even more complicated when she remembers. Their friends and family are so supportive and helpful, even though some of them may have a few secrets of their own. I just can't get enough of this series!!
I loved the Insight series and the first of the See series but for some reason I felt a little disconnected with this book. I think maybe because it was a little shorter than what I had expected and quite a bit went on in the book, which gave me too much in so little time. Despite this Jamie's work still continues to brighten my days and I cannot wait for when the Insight and See series come together.
This is the fifth book in the Web of Hearts and Souls series, and the second in the See series. In this book, Charlie and Draven are trying to figure out how to see their way to different places. A person from Charlie's past shows up to protect her, and she meets more people that help her on her journey. She is also tasked with protecting those she loves. Another awesome addition to the Web!
Charlie has regained most of her memories and realizes that she has to help protect Draven. Family secrets come out and she has a choice to run or stay and fight. Madison is dealing with her dreams of a handsome man who seems to have a darkness about him. New character introduced-Silas brings many more questions. Many mysteries.
Getting better with these new characters and the story has gotten more interesting and pacey. Lots of references to the two 'worlds' colliding but they haven't yet. Only one bookl of the eight left now. Not sure how everything could possibly be tied up in one book but I'll be finding out shortly!
I really enjoyed the story, however, some of the grammatical errors were distracting. "rod iron" instead of "wrought iron," and the misuse of appropriate you/you're form, specifically. The story was very engaging & I would recommend the series to friends.
