Mia was in trouble.

She was alone and she was scared. She prayed for a miracle, and then she met Augustine. A marine, turned sheriff, named after a saint.

Augustine Roy liked his job as Sheriff of East Baton Rouge Parish. He liked the town and the town’s women, some said too much, but he’d never heard any of them complain. He wasn’t interested in monogamy, a fact most single women in town had come to understand. He loved his family and friends and when his best friend, Clay, needed his help, he jumped at the chance to use his skills as a former Marine Corps field extraction expert.

While Augie thrived when life ran calm and controlled, his current situation was anything but. Mia had entered his life and dumped it on its head. To top it off, she was so not his type. He preferred large breasted Southern blondes with experience in the sack. Mia was slim, Canadian, and to his utter disbelief, a twenty five year old virgin.

But then he’d gone and married her . . .

. . . and then she’d passed out.

When Mia woke, she had a new name, and a new ring. She just hoped like hell she’d not missed the wedding consummation.

I lead a double life. By day I’m training young women to become speech therapists. At night I sip red wine, dial down all distractions, and sink into the fictional worlds I create. Good tunes on my iPod are a must. I get so caught up in my characters that I truly wish the male hero would materialize in the flesh; especially when I see the cover image…I swoon.

I have spent the past several years working as a university instructor. My students are young adult females so I’m constantly running plot lines and book covers by them. They make a great beta team! I love my job at the university but there is something I love even more. . . romance novels. I'll read any genre as long as there are steamy sex scenes and the standard issue HEA ending. Initially I was drawn in by the escape and sweeping emotion of it all, so much so, I began to create my own fictional world.

Since I worked during the day my nights were consumed with writing. I was powerless to stop the stories that wanted to be freed from my mind. I actually started to get mixed up. I would think something I wrote at night was something I had said during the working day and vice versa. My friends were worried for my sanity but I assured them I had not gone mad, I was just writing. Once I started I wrote upwards of 3,000 words per day.

It was in the early millennium when I became brave enough to share my stories with others. I began to post my stories on fiction websites and then something marvelous happened—I was followed by hundreds of eager readers. I loved my followers and their kind words helped motivate me.

These days I am writing books and I’ve learned some things about myself during the process. I like to write series novels because I have trouble letting go. I like a little plot with my romance, erotica, contemporary. Call it what you will, but I have to have a good story in which to sink my teeth. If I start writing a story I have to finish it, even if it’s terrible.

My dog is my muse and when he tilts his forehead at me and blinks his large black eyes questioningly at me, I think he is worried I've been sucked into the wormhole of the very fiction that I write. I appreciate his concern but I have yet to fall down the rabbit hole. Here's to everyone else in my boat, may our voyage become a permanent destination.

I honestly can’t get enough of Gina and all her men. I was so happy when I met Clay St. Martin, and I was absolutely ecstatic when I finally met Augustine Roy. Gina Watson was such a good writer. One of the things I appreciate most about her style is her ability to create such relatable, complex characters – they weren’t perfect. They make mistakes, but they are endearing and loveable.

Augustine or Augie will do anything for his best friend Clay. So he promised Clay that he would rescue the sister of the woman he loves and get divorce papers signed by Eve’s soon-to-be-ex-husband. As a sheriff, he was contented with his life. He works hard, and he plays just as hard. He definitely isn’t interested in a long-term relationship. Actually, he doesn’t do a relationship. He’s not a monogamous kind of guy. And even less in someone with less experience than is good for him. He liked his women fast, sophisticated and aggressive – the kind of women he didn’t have to teach for her to know what he liked; until a certain woman walked into his life. He’d never been out of control when it came to women, but Mia had him hot and bothered. Her compassionate heart, her giving nature, her sweetness, and her innocence had him off balance. Can she be the salvation to his darkness? Will Augie overcome his past, allow her to be in his life, and fight for his future? Or let her go?

Mia was used to do things on her own ever since her father walked out on them with her sister Eve. She took care of her sick mother in a way that put her life on hold. And meeting the utterly sexy and smokin’ hot sheriff, Augie, made her feel things she hadn’t feel before. He is everything that she has always dreamed of in a man. So for the first time in her life, Mia wanted to do something she’d never done before. She wanted to give herself to him. But the problem was Augie didn’t want to accept what she’d been offering. And it infuriated her because the man humiliated her, embarrassed her, and frustrated her. But she still wants him. All of him.

I love, love, loved them. As they spent time together, they learned more about each other. And we learned more about Augie. He actually opens up. I was so glad to read more about his past. It made me feel more comfortable and connected with the whole story because I finally understood the things that made him tick. Honestly, at first, I wasn’t sure what kind of guy he was. But he was one of the best kinds. Despite his past, he’s still there and willing to help someone when they need it. That’s why I was so thrilled he found Mia. She understood him in a way that no one else did. She saw through his walls and right into his heart. She fills the empty spot in his heart and helps to heal him.

I adored Mia and admired her humility, guilelessness, giving nature, compassionate heart, and courage. She’s strong-willed yet innocent in most things. I found her complete trust in Augie and her genuine devotion to touching. I loved her strength but also her vulnerability. I loved that her character feels so real. It makes it easy to connect to her. I loved her humor and the way she didn't give up.
But I don’t want to be a virgin, and I like to have sex with you right now. Can we try again?”

“I promise I won’t subject you to my attempted sexual promiscuity anymore.”
The sexual tension between Augie and Mia were off the charts. Smexy times were abundant in this book. Like any of Gina’s books, the sex won't disappoint. It was über HOT! But I was honestly kind of expecting a bit more BDSM in this one, but it is still good. The romance was great. Augie and Mia get off to a somewhat rocky start, but they have this connection right away. And instead of jumping into insta-love/lust, they talk. They learn more about each other. And we get to see them open up more to each other and learn about each other, and become friends, besties even. It was quite beautiful. (I can’t even imagine Augie mentioning the word besties, but he did. He’s such a cutie!) I love watching them work through their issues. They are so completely compatible. She helps him be a better person, even when he doesn't realize it or wants it to happen. And he makes her a more daring person. They bring out the best and worst in each other.

All in all, Seize was very much a rollercoaster. I was hooked on this book from the moment I started it, and I could not put it down until the end. This is a love story filled with suspense, angst, and of course, there was plenty of steam in true Gina Watson style. I loved this book. I definitely recommend you give this a read.

I am sure you guys are getting tired of hearing me talk about Gina and all her men, but today is not different. Her writing kicks major ass! The woman wields a pen and paper the way a swordsman wields his sword. Her writing is thick like a roux (google it lol – it’s a Louisiana thing) and has everything that makes you go ummmmm… Like a delicious bowl of gumbo! She makes you feel her characters heartache, but she also makes sure that she wraps you thick in the love the characters are feeling. She does not want to leave you wondering what they are feeling, she makes you feel it.

Augustine, Augie, is the Sheriff of East Baton Rouge and an extended part of the St. Martin clan. He’s best friends with Clay, the oldest brother of the St. Martin boys. This is a man who’s past haunts him every time he closes his eyes to sleep… But he tries to counter what happened back then by saving lives in the today… And that is what he thought he would be doing when Clay asked him to go to Canada to get divorce papers signed by Eve’s soon to be ex-husband and to retrieve his bride’s to be sister, Mia. Augie was all for saving people, he just didn’t think he needed saving… Until he meets Mia and she shakes his world upside down and inside out!

Mia is used to taking care of everyone and everything all her life. She had to grow up early in life and for that, I feel for her. Having to take care of her mother in the manner in which she did, left no life for Mia at all. She isn’t stupid by any means, but some things just done click when they should. She might seem immature at times, but when you read her story and see what she has gone through, you will want to cut her some slack and allow her to enjoy the little things in life. She does not know the danger she is in, until she meets a man that points it out every time she turns around…. But is she ready for things that change within her from meeting this man… Only time will tell.

This story kinda shook me a little. Gina wrote a story that some might say pushed the boundaries of meanness but you have to understand where those feelings come from and to understand that is to understand the man – Augie. He literally has been through hell and back (seeing war in Afghanistan) and having dealt with so much has left his soul a little void of anything but nightmares. He is truly a character that will twist your heart and sometimes you will not know what to think of him. He is mean, rude, demanding, arrogant, blunt… But he is also fiercely loyal and devoted without question. But getting past those walls is damn near impossible… Until Mia.

She is a refreshing breath of air with her sense of humor and her innocence. She doesn’t look at things or people the way most people do. She does not play victim to her past circumstances, she stands up for herself and for others. Her giving soul is so rich, she will make you feel like you do not do enough, lol.

This story will take you through all sorts of emotions. Some you will not be able to deal with, but I promise you it will be worth the ride. You must read Augie and Mai’s story… For what they have to share will show you some people are just made for each other.

Another great job Gina!!

Augie is a big teddy bear. The journey and story of him and Mia was just too adorable for words. I was brought to tears in the end. That was the MOST romantic thing in the world. By far my favorite in the series so far.

I love these two! Augie and Mia are so perfectly matched. He drove me crazy right up until the last couple chapters because he was so determined to believe he wasn't good enough for her. She is his perfect match. I want to hear about some babies for them!

Generally speaking, the story is good. However, I really hate the hero,Augie, most of the times.

First, the way he saves Mia by kidnapping her. I know it's emergency, but are all the actions he takes necessary including asks her to take off her clothes in front of him in the hotel?

Second, his mood swings are so unacceptable! Yes, he may have PTSD and other stress, but Mia is a sweet woman who always says what she think. How can he often hurt her by his cruel words then ask her forgiveness by doing sweet things to her? How can Mia forgive him again and again is beyond me.

If you can ignore Augie's certain annoying behaviors, you will enjoy the story.

Runaway from death threats road trip set first in Canada and ends up in the South of USA.
Sheriff Augustine Roy made a promise to save Evie's big sister, but he didn't know that it was going to change his life. Augie is smart and plans everything out, but there is still more then a little violence and lots of plans that go wrong while he tries to save virginal super nice Mia.
Mia had several names, her birth name that she hates which is a boys name as well as Michaela which is kind of pretty and unusual. Augie falls in love with all of them, but he is the last person to notice that he has feelings and almost messes everything up.
There is a lot of sexy time for people on the run. The actual story doesn't make much sense but I just went on this road trip with Mia and Augie and had a fun time.
I enjoyed the read but wouldn't re-read it. There was something weird about the way the men are portrayed which made the romance a little unbelievable.

Gina has another hit!!! I really enjoy all of her books!! This story is packed with romance and action from the get go!!! Augie is going after Mia, who is Eve sister, and finds himself up against more then he expected. Not only was he to save Mia, he was to serve Eve husband with divorce papers (kill him if Nicolas refused) and deal with the mafia that Nicolas was involved with. What he didn't want was to fall for Mia but she was so pure and sweet. He refused her advances believing he was not good enough for her. Will they over come the troubles that are ahead of them and they find the love that they both want and need.
I can't wait to start The next book in the series!!
