This was perhaps the first one of these where I earnestly felt bad for the husband. I'm honestly not sure that Hikaru made the right choice here, but it was *her* choice I suppose. Usually in these the yuri relationship is the obvious better one, the one the protagonist is happiest in. I'm not so sure that's true here. For one thing, I don't know that Hana is someone she can rely on in the same way as she could Harutaka. It kinda feels like she's using Hikaru more than that she's actually in love with her. I love that. I love the ambiguity. I love that it's not cut-and-dried, and there are different takes you can have on the ending. I'm pretty pleased with that, and hope it gets a license.
That said, we can all agree the doggos are adorable!
Overall, this was the best art I've seen from this artist and somehow a disappointing story. I was all for the characters being flawed and making mistakes. But this volume feels like the artist learned her series was cancelled in the middle of it and rushed to finish, meaning a very superficial and lacking ending.
