When billionaire Conrad Worthington from Pebble Beach, has a mysterious car accident just days before the reading of his newly revised Will, his entire extended family gathers, their fangs out.
While Conrad lies, still unconscious in ICU, it is revealed he had plans in the works to bequeath the lion’s share of his empire to Darcy, his eldest, at the expense of his first wife, eldest son and many other family members. But when Conrad goes missing from the hospital without a trace, the company Key Man Clause kicks in. Darcy is forced to leave her fast paced life in New York, and return home to take the helm of her father’s empire.
Once back in Pebble Beach, Darcy tries to reunite her fractured, divided family and reveal who among this den-of-vipers, actually tried to murder her father. At the same time, Darcy rediscovers her own small town “roots” and reignites a long-lost, passionate love affair…that might just change her life.
Welcome to Pebble Beach, where the wealthy aren't just rich – they're dangerously rich, and Conrad Worthington's "accident" is about to expose just how lethal family ties can be.
When the billionaire patriarch mysteriously vanishes from his hospital bed, his empire falls into the reluctant hands of his daughter Darcy, yanking her from her New York life back to the coastal mansion filled with sharks wearing designer clothes.
Nothing says "welcome home" quite like discovering half your relatives might have tried to murder your father, especially when his new will was about to cut them out.
The book brilliantly balances its murder mystery with Darcy's personal journey, as she's forced to face both family demons and an old flame that never quite burned out.

It was a bit too much “romance” for me. Too much detail of passionate kissing, etc. Also, one of the characters did a massive switch from good to bad with no warning. I will not be reading any of the future books planned for this series.
