But I did. And now Elio wants more. Much more…
I sexted the wrong number… But could my ex’s dad be my Mr. Right?

Okay, seeing as the first words that came out of my mouth when I read the last 2 chapters was, what the fuck. That's enough to tell you how I feel. Know that, this book had me for the first part of their relationship. When they were building the suspense and the steaminess, however, Elio and Stella have not had any kind of emotional bond at all. Also, they both were very quick to leave each other. in the first couple weeks. Stella broke up with him once, but Elio walked out on her and left her three or four times and this was when they were further along in the relationship and together for months. The first time was because he was jealous that he saw her on. a dinner thing with Paul. and he couldn't talk to her. the second time was because when Owen first came back around and he wanted to have a relationship with his son but he couldn't think about this when he knew from the beginning that she was his son's ex girlfriend. The third time he left her. It's because Owen told her him that he wanted to get back with Stella and like a little bitch. He lets Owen get what he wants and only for Stella to tell Owen. I don't want nothing to do with you. We were not good as a couple, but we could always be friends. And then a year went by and he's sulking. She was trying to call him up until a couple months, she decided to not want someone who didn't want him. Then you know what really killed me. Owen went and talked to her and she said and I quote, Tears well up in my eyes, but I refuse to let them fall. I take a deep breath, forcing myself to face the truth. “I can’t keep waiting for him, Owen. He walked away. It was his decision, not mine. And I can’t keep looking back. He made his decision.” (really?)
Then Owen went to his father and told him you need to go after her, because you all had something together. And then. Elio was like, Oh my god, you are right. And went where she does normally go by her brother. He proposed. And she was like, yes, immediately. This was the one time in a romance book where I wanted the couple to not end up together. I wanted them to not end up together so badly. I was so mad. What do you mean? He broke up with you several times, and he still didn't want to get back with you, even though he had some kind of feelings for you and you held on to all of this feelings for over a year. And he came back and the same time he came back and say I need to talk to you and then proposes you say yes. WTF. WTF.
Stella just got dumped and is not sure what to do next. When her best friend tells her to go to her ex's dad to get back payment for supporting him. When Elio meets Stella he wants her and will do everything to have her. This book had me on emotional rollercoaster with Stella. This book was amazing and was a quick read and will want to read more from this author.

He tells her not to worry that he will take care of her and her disable brother Leo once he's finish with school. Stella has a lot on her shoulders trying to survive plus shouldering the cost of her brother Leo who lives in an assisted living facility because of a cognitive disability. A few weeks ago after Owen settled in his six figure corporate job she noticed that he has been a little distant towards her. He took her to a fancy restaurant which was out of the norm because they couldn't afford it. She was hoping that it would be a new thing until he tells her that he needed a break from the relationship. Stella was livid and started getting loud and making a scene. Because she had put her like on hold to be a nurse to help him with his career and now that he was making money he wanted to discard her like they meant nothing. With him leaving she was now in a bind with their apartment because she can no longer afford it and the care of her brother. She decided to all the office and ask for the security deposit but the manager tells her that the check was already mail. Owen had it sent to his father Elio Lombardi. She can't fathom why he would do something like that, maybe it was to torture her. Because he had always tell her that his dad is not a man that you would want to mess with that he was downright cruel and powerful. Stella best friend Anastasia tells her to come and live with her. She also gave her a card with a friend's name Marnie who works at a Regency, a gentleman's club since she's desperate in need of a job. Elio Lombardi is silver fox eligible bachelor widower and successful businesman and CEO of Lombardi Enterprises. He has been recognized for his philanthropic efforts including funding scholarships and supporting children's hospitals. Stella friend Anastasia tells her that Elio was filthy rich and could've paid for his son's education instead of her. She tells her that when she goes for the security deposit from him that she should demand compensation for all the years that she spent taking care of him. She said that she was his caregiver and deserve to be financially supported after everything he put her through. Elio gave twenty thousand dollars and thank her for taking care of his son. But as she was leaving he grabbed her by the hand and told her that if she was his never would've been an idiot like his son and let her go and for the the little attitude he would've that that butt until it was tender. His words leave her breathless, disoriented and excited. No man had ever talked to her like that before and even though his words were crude, they spoke directly to the mound between her legs. "You're a rare breed Stella, he says the corner of hus mouth quirking into a half smile." Very few people stand up to me like you did today. And even fewer succeed in getting what they want. Elio was intrigued by her, her strength. He gave her his business card and tells her that if she sees Owen again to call him no questions ask. Stella was scrolling through social media and saw that Owen as moved instead of a break which completely devesate her. Anastasia hate to see her friend hurting and tell her that they were going to a bar to get drunk. While there she tells her that her brother Paul had always had a crush on her since tge were teenagers and gave her his number. Stella decided to send him a text while in the restroom but in a drunken state she texted a racy picture and a message but to the wrong number. She actually texted her ex's father who was attracted to her from the moment that they met, and the two have been sexting for a week. She didn't know that it was him until he came to her job since she had ignored his email to meet at his company. Stella has Elio mind scramble to the point where he can't concentrate on work. She confuses him something woman had never done before and he hunger to know everything about her. Elio made her a proposition to be at his beck on call and he'd payoff all her debts, put her up in a luxury apartment and give him sex upon demand plus give her a monthly stipend after the relationship as ended. But she told him that she cannot be bought. Elio is a man who gets everything that he wants and he wants her and will stop at nothing to get her. He continues to pursue her daily showing up at her job and just watch her. One night when the care facility that was taking care of her brother call telling her that she was two months behind on payments for her brother's care and that she had ten days to pay unless he would be awarded to to state she was devastated. Owen had screw her once again because he was the one who was supposed to make the payment. She was crying outside when Elio showed up. He offered to pay the bill but she tells him that she doesn't take money for things that she have not earn. She surprise him at every turn and wasn't like the other women that he was use to who threw themselves at him. He tells her that she could sleep with him for one night and he would give her the money she didn't want to but with no choice she agrees so that she could get the sixteen thousand dollars. She went to his house and did the act but it was so good that he gave her twenty thousand dollars instead. Elio thought that one night would be enough to get her out of his system but he knew that it wouldn't be enough and wanted more but Stella was going for it even though he had awaken a dark side in her that she didn't knew existed. Elio put more money into her bank account for taking care of his son which didn't sit well with her. When she went to his office to return it they had sex again because she can't stop thinking about him and neither does he. They started a situationship of passion filled nights with both catching feelings. But when Elio saw her on a date with Paul he was livid and fucked her then broke up with her. But the thing was Anastasia had tricked her on the date with her brother. Stella didn't know how her best friend would feel if she knew that she wasn't texting Paul and had lie to her but he was covering for her. Elio didn't want her because he felt like she had made a fool of him but he didn't want her to be with any other man it was him or nobody. And when he went to Regency and saw that she had went in to give a customer a lap dance he was livid and tried to kill the man for touching her. They started dating again and was happy only for Owen to come months later apologizing and begging for a second chance. But she wasn't having none of it and tell him that she had moved on and had someone else. But when Elio find out that Owen was back he broke up with her again because he and his son relationship had been strain for years and had not talked because he blamed him for the death of his mom. Additionally, he didn't want to have to choose between him and her. When Owen find out that he was the new man in her he was livid. The truth came out about his wife who had been cheating with his second in command Massimo who shot Stella in retaliation for the love of his life. Stella almost died and for his son he walked away from Stella breaking his own heart. But she didn't want Owen. Stella went back to school after begging Elio to be with her unsuccessfully and they eventually got their HEA after Owen told his dad that he was a fool and he was truly about to lose her for good.
I received an advanced copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was so unbelievable and boring. So many plot holes such as how could the fmc afford to pay rent and 8k a month while working two jobs and supporting her boyfriend who isn't working and just going to school? They break up and she meets the father. That starts off promising and the relationship is believable at first. I love the fmc. She has so much fire and cares so much for people around her but her responses to elio are so unbelievable and elio is such a man child and a horrible "Dom". It makes fun of 50 shades (which it's true that book is trash and not a rep for bdsm) but it to me - it's just as ridiculous. Elio is a spoiled man child playing as a "Dom". He throws money at problems and doesn't give a shit about the women he "claims to love". He just likes the chase. Not the women. He's a trash partner. After the last of many breakups (spoiler) ...
. . . . . A year passes. She gets her shit together (although how she goes to school and pays 8k plus rent and living costs by herself again makes no sense)
Anyways a year passes and elio randomly decides after no contact he wants her back. He goes back and proposes and she says yes and marries him six months later. No discussions. Just a quick wrap up and wham bam shot gun marriage. This is one of the worse couples I've read and I've read over 300 books a year for the past five years.
The author isn't a bad writer. It was passable. Many errors but the story was highly unimaginative and had more plot holes then an 80s soap opera. Boring.
The storyline had a lot of potential, but there were so many gaps and writing errors that it was hard to finish this book. Also I am all for the “second chance” trope, but a third and fourth chance? Absolutely not! For a 40+ year old man, he sure acts like a child and I just can’t. I am all for putting your kids first, but his son was an absolute ass and their relationship was already non-existent to begin with. The fact this man actually listened to his son when he was like “you need to leave and put us be happy” and then again when the son realized he was a dumbass and told his dad “your loosing her and you need to go and get her back. How could you let her go?”. Like SIR YOU STARTED THIS BS!!! The son took absolutely no responsibility for his mistakes. On the female main character side of the family, I felt like we were going to get more of the mom and then nothing… there was so much potential for this to just be a nice age gap, dating my Ex’s dad trope, but then the last 100 pages went and threw some weird curve ball at us. I would definitly recommend the author go back and fix the writing/grammatical errors within the book to have it flow better.
Stella’s boyfriend Owen dumps her and leaves her high and dry. She gave up nursing school for him, supported him and put her life on hold for him. But the second he “makes it big” he dumps her. Pissed and broke she’s out of options. She has a disabled younger brother she’s caring for and his care facility is expensive. Her mother is a drug and alcohol user and is useless. She listens to her friend and takes a job in an upscale “strip” club and is getting acclimated when her friend suggest she start seeing her brother. Stella capitulates and begins to sext Paul, her friend Anastasia’s brother. There’s only one problem…she actually mistakenly has been sexting Elio, Owen’s hot billionaire father.
Elio has a very strained relationship with his son. His son blames him for his mother’s death, even though, frankly it wasn’t his fault at all. He knows he shouldn’t keep replying to Stella but he’s been enamored since Stella barged in and demanded “compensation” for supporting his son. Eventually sexting turns to flirtatious meetings, and inevitably they begin a complicated “relationship.” Elio knows that Stella is probably too young for him, that he doesn’t “do commitment” AND that his son would flip out if he found out about him sleeping with Stella, but what began as a “no strings attached” agreement quickly escalated into a relationship that neither he nor Stella can resist. Eventually Owen finds out about Stella and Elio and predictably loses it. When Stella goes to Elio’s place to confront him leaving her (he bowed out because he wanted to salvage his relationship with his son) she convinces Elio to fight for their relationship only to have Massimo, Elio’s right hand man betray them both, stating that he, Massimo had been having an affair with Elio’s wife and blamed Elio for her death (again ridiculous since Massimo not only had an affair with Elio’s wife but basically orchestrated the events that led to her death). There’s a shootout, Stella is shot and almost dies, Owen tells his dad to back off and let him have Stella. Elio agrees and leaves. Stella wakes up to Owen confessing his need to be back in a relationship. She gently turns him down and confesses her love for his father. Owen gives her his blessing and she goes to Elio but Elio turns her away. Angrily Stella tells him that this time she’s not coming back, she’s sick of being the only one fighting for them (as well she should be). Fast forward a year later, Stella’s back in nursing school. After Owen visits Elio to tell him he’s dating a great girl and that he wants him to go after Stella because now he knows what love is and he knows that Elio loves Stella and will always regret letting her go if he doesn’t go after her, Elio goes after Stella. Stella forgives Elio, accepts his proposal and six months later while discussing how tedious wedding preparation is Elio suggests that they just elope and Stella agrees. The book ends there.
**THOUGHTS**
Okay, so the book had promise. Stella is in a tough spot and she accidentally begins to sext her ex’s father. She gets into a “complicated” relationship with him and falls in love. It’s a “done many times” trope - falling into a relationship with her ex’s dad. But the sexting (accidental as it may be) added a new and fun element to the plot. Stella is a likable character and Elio is a complex older man who fights his attraction until he can’t anymore. The author writes pretty well, and gives her two main characters enough depth to make them somewhat believable. I only gave this book 2 stars however for a few reasons. 1. Owen is an a-hole. He’s a “man child” that pretty much throws a tantrum because of “daddy issues” and not only dumps his issues on his dad but dumps Stella then wants her back. His character is not in any way likable at all but the author TRIES to redeem him and expects the reader to just be okay with him by the end of the book. Frankly it would’ve been better and more believable if Stella not only told him off but if Elio “kicked him to the curb.” There’s no way he deserved to find “true love” at the end and give his dad his blessing. The fact that is took Owen giving his blessing to Elio to get Elio to go after Stella was absolutely pathetic. I honestly really was tired of Elio’s wishy washy character by that point. Which leads to problem number two. 2. Elio begins as a strong dominant older man character. The author does well in displaying his domineering personality and sets the stage for a strong age-gap romance BUT as the book went on (by pretty much halfway through the book) Elio’s character completely dissolved. Not only did he NOT FIGHT FOR Stella, he accepted Owen’s pathetic behavior and tantrums, placing them before Stella’s well being and their relationship. By the end of the book I just didn’t like Elio anymore. 3. Elio never fights for Stella. Sure at THE VERY END - a freaking year later AFTER he gets his son’s permission, he goes after Stella and proposes, but throughout their relationship Stella was always the one fighting for them. 4. After the stupidly awful way Elio treated Stella and the fact that he took a freaking entire year to go after her, he just shows up and proposes to her and she ACCEPTS. Nope. No way. There was no epic groveling no Stella dating someone else, no real remorse and making it up to her. It was not only NOT believable but honestly a total let down. As readers we expect when a man makes such epic mistakes that he grovel like heck to get his girl back. 5. Elio’s a billionaire with possible “shady” dealings but that is never explained or explored. Massimo clearly “works for him” and Elio’s wife died in a “raid” but what for, and why?? Is he really an “underboss” or a Don or whatever?? You don’t really know because his work is never explored. 6. There’s no really good ending. The pathetic six months later they’re tired of wedding planning so they decide to elope, the end, is seriously lame, at best. It would’ve been more successful if the epilogue was them married, or married, and even better pregnant with Owen being kicked to the curb and getting his just desserts. Basically this book started off strong and quickly fell into disrepair.
I am begging authors to stop relying on the constant breakup and reunion cycle as a personality trait. Stella and Elio were separated more than they were actually together, and it got old fast.
Elio is a man in his 40s who keeps walking away because he cannot communicate his feelings like a grown adult. At one point, Stella literally takes a bullet for him. She is unconscious in the hospital for nine days, and while she is in a coma, this man decides to leave her. Why? Because his son, who was consistently shïttý to her, suddenly wants her back. Never mind that Stella was very clear she wanted nothing to do with Owen.
When Stella wakes up, she chases Elio again, just for him to break her heart for what feels like the fifth time.
Fast forward a year. Stella is finally doing something for herself, moving on, living her life. Enter Owen, now magically changed, showing up to announce that what they had was not love and that she belongs with his dad. Convenient.
Owen then goes to Elio and delivers the same recycled speech, adding that Stella is moving on. And oh no, God forbid the woman you abandoned for a year does not sit around waiting for you.
So Elio rushes after her. No grovel. No accountability. Just some sweet nothing dialogue and a last minute proposal after twelve months of silence, claiming he has been thinking about this for a long time. Bro be for real.
The story had potential, but the total disregard for editing was way too distracting. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following: mentions in the book regarding scenes that had not yet occurred, inconsistencies in the color of Paul’s eyes, inconsistencies in where people were standing, what they are wearing, or where they lived, repetition of phrases or dialogue within the scene itself or reverting to conversations that had already been resolved in prior chapters, and the incorrect selection of words or spelling. I think scenes were written, thrown together, rearranged and then never reread in their final sequence; therefore, prohibiting the editor from recognizing and correcting details and story flow. It felt like a Chapters book release where things were changed as they went and lacked look back.
I’m not looking to be harsh in my assessment, because as I said there was potential here. The story just needed more love and attention prior to release.
I am by no means an expert and highly respect someone that can sit down and dedicate so much time and life to the page. However, I read enough that issues like what I listed above can truly prohibit the enjoyment of the journey.
When Stella's boyfriend dumps her, her best friend takes her to the club to forget about him. When she also gives her, her brother's telephone number and tells her to give him a call and ask him out on a date. But Stella drunkenly mixes the numbers up and starts sexting the wrong person.
Stella is also dealing with having to find a job, move home because of the break-up as well and find funds to pay for her younger brother's medical care.
Elio can't believe the sexts he's receiving and who they are from. He felt a pull of attraction when they met, and he can't say he's not interested in pursuing this to see where it goes.
When Stella realises her mistake, she is mortified. But she feels the attraction between them and she accepts Elio's offer.
Can this relationship be doomed from the start, with it being between his estranged son's ex-partner? Will Owen put pressure on both of them to break the relationship off? Will Elio put Owen before Stella even though he knows Stella's feelings?.

It was good and honestly I couldn’t put it down. But I had to give it 2 ⭐️ why? Well because 1) it needed some more editing. I’m never one for spelling or grammar to annoy me or pull a rating from a book. But the spelling errors, there were just to many to look past and made it hard to read at time. 2) did he live in an apartment or a mansion…. Because it changed from one chapter to the next. As did her outfit just with in the same few paragraphs. She was in jeans one moment and a dress the next but had never left the bar or bathroom. When they got intimate, it changed from one paragraph to the next as well. One moment she was up against a wall by the entry way. The next. She was in the bed. A paragraph later… she was back on the wall in the entry way…. Sooo which is it? And the ending felt very very very rushed. I just couldn’t get past those thing. This book had a lot of potential. But there were a lot of gaps and things that just made it hard to enjoy.
Now. I’m not saying the book was bad. Because it wasn’t like I said I couldn’t put it down. It had a lot of potential but it needed more editing for sure.
This one has all of the feels every single emotion I felt, it was a serious emotional roller coaster, it was just so amazing I read it in one sitting I kept telling myself one more chapter and I’ll get back to what I was doing but I just couldn’t put it down, the author had a way that just pulled me in and had me captivated in their love and yes it may seem taboo to some but it was so real this book it’s not just spice tho it has plenty of that but what I loved more were all the relationships especially the mmc and fmc , this wasn’t a simple love story with your eventual HEA they had to really fight and work for it and what made it so much more real was that the main fight was with themselves and there inner issues and emotions and it just shows sometimes the one that does the most damage and holds up back in life is ourselves, they definitely got their well deserved HEA I wish it was drawn out a bit at the end the last 2 chapters felt a little rushed . But still a truly great read highly recommend.
The premise of this book had real potential, but the execution falls flat—largely due to the serious need for editing. The story contradicts itself so frequently that it became difficult to stay engaged, and at times, I genuinely considered not finishing it. There are plot holes, inconsistent character behavior, and scenes that feel completely disconnected from the rest of the story.
If you’re hoping for a strong female lead, you’ll be disappointed. The FMC is passive to the point of frustration, and the male lead is downright unlikable—rude, controlling, and constantly rewarded for his behavior without any real development or growth.
The author introduces compelling situations, but instead of exploring or resolving them, the plot just moves on with no explanation. It feels rushed and unfinished, like a first draft that never got polished. With tighter editing and stronger character development, this could’ve been something special—but as it stands, it’s more frustrating than enjoyable.
After her breakup, all Stella wanted was her share of the security deposit what she didn’t expect was for it to land n the hands of her ex’s dad. So off she goes to face with her ex’s father, Elio. He was used to being in control, so Stella’s boldness instantly intrigued him. Things take a surprising turn when, after a tipsy night out, she accidentally sends a seductive photo meant for someone else… to Elio. Unable to stop thinking about her, he makes the bold choice to reply, setting off a chain of events filled with heat, tension, and emotional unraveling. The chemistry between the characters was undeniable and the story delivered on the taboo fantasy in a fun, flirty, and sometimes heartfelt way. However, the reading experience was occasionally disrupted by some editing issues like inconsistent capitalization of proper names, awkward pronoun usage, and a repeated section of text that broke the flow. Still, Liz Archer knows how to craft a sizzling connection, and fans of forbidden, age-gap romance will likely find this one entertaining despite the hiccups.
Liz Archer delivers all the spice and scandal in Sexting My Ex’s Dad, and I loved every second of it! This book is the perfect guilty pleasure read—steamy, forbidden, and absolutely unputdownable.
What starts as a drunken mistake quickly turns into a very heated situation when our heroine accidentally sexts her ex’s dad. And Elio? He’s no ordinary father figure—he’s powerful, confident, and oh-so-willing to turn a mishap into something unforgettable. The chemistry is off-the-charts, the age gap only makes it hotter, and the tension? Delicious.
Despite the taboo premise, this story isn’t just about the steam (though, trust me, it delivers). There’s emotion, unexpected sweetness, and a swoon-worthy HEA that makes it all worth it. If you love forbidden age-gap romances with a billionaire twist, Sexting My Ex’s Dad will absolutely set your Kindle on fire.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Wickedly fun, irresistibly steamy, and impossible to put down!.
Do we want a sexy Dom daddy? Yes! Do we get one? Fuck no. He supposedly will show her all about bdsm and what we got made me giggle, because the audacity that man had to insult 50 shades when he couldn't even deliver half a shade. Sex scenes felt choppy and vanilla AF. FMC is just about begging on her knees for Elio. Like there was no chase for him, not a one. She did all the work, knew it and then fell back in. It's frustrating AF that she's supposed to be smart but her drunk vaj is a dumb bitch that's willing to grovel time after time. I'm not for sale but I will fuck you and take your money...like what is it with the whiplash of contradictions.
What happened to Elio's wife? Who knows, I thought their house must have burned and he went back in a laptop or something with the way his son kept saying he let his mom die. But then, we find out that what really happened was so crazy the logic wasn't logicking.
Basically take your expectations and then go all the way down to zero.

Had this book been edited/proof read etc properly I reckon it would have been a really good book because the storyline wasn’t terrible. However …. The amount of grammatical errors was appalling, especially the use of ‘binded’ which isn’t even a recognised word - I actually did my research on that one as the author should’ve! It also seemed like the author themselves couldn’t follow their own plot and direction in what they wanted to happen to the characters, there were many “wtf” moments and confusion on my end.
Disappointing read but refused to put it down just in case it got better.
SPOILER - it didn’t.
1 star - is just for the name Elio, I really rather like it! 1 star - for the small bits I did like
Apologies for the crappy review, though it’s accurate in my eyes I just don’t like doing it.
To be honest I’m reading this as my first read of January and I pushed through purely because I didn’t want to DNF my first book of the year. I’m doing 3 stars and that’s generous, there is character mix up, a story that doesn’t align and mixes locations up, the characters jump from one position to the next without any flowing one minute they’re near a door and then on the bed, without any say so of movement. Quite frankly Stella is a blinking push over, Owen (the ex) is a semi decent guy but that’s towards the end, Elio is a giant a s s and basically treats Stella like a piece of s h i t but she can’t seem to say no to him, I think they break up like 3 or 4 times. The only decent one throughout he story seems to be Isobel, Stella’s work friend, Ana, Stella’s best friend and Ana’s brother. So yeah - unfortunately a big flop and I’m gutted it was my friend read of the year.
For me the book was doing ok and readable albeit not total engaging or drawing in as felt myself waiting for something to happen or even for the bdsm element to kick in but disappointed in two ways. Firstly, the bdsm was totally vanilla and not worth even being mentioned as bdsm and then about two thirds in the storyline went weird when son re-enters the story, for me felt the narrative was ok as a simple novella plodding along and then a quick change to create a bit of drama and action for me backfired and caused me to quickly read to end just to finish it and see if it righted itself. Read this one after reading Christmas with my Ex's Dad and that was fun but for me this one disappointing.

When Stella and her boyfriend break up, she turns to his father for the money she used supporting his son. Elio is stunned by her but gives her the money she is owed. Later when she is out with a friend, she gets drunk and sends a text to her ex's dad instead of her friend's brother. Elio is surprised but messages back. Once she realizes what she has done she tries to fix it but its too late. They are both wanting each other. Will this turn into something? Will his son come between them?

Chris Rock once said “I don’t condone it, but I can understand.” This spicy book has Elio, billionaire bully meeting and receiving communications then a steamy situationship with his son’s ex girlfriend Stella. Despite the fact that Owen uses and dumps her after a 4 year relationship where she footed all the bills, there is still a sense of messiness when instant sparks flare after Elio and Stella meet. She has to take care of her special needs brother Leo and got ghosted by Owen. Quitting nursing school and getting a job at a gentlemen’s club is the only easy she can keep him safe as mama ain’t sh*t. Sexting, misunderstandings, past angst between Dad and son culminated in a Rut Roh encounter before a HEA.
I really enjoyed this story, and at times I found myself crying with the main female character, Stella. When Owen tell Stella that he wants to take a break, she is heartbroken, and when she discovers that he had sent the deposit to his dad for the apartment they shared her best friend, convince her to go to his dad and ask for compensation. Who knew going to visit her ex’s father Elio, who would turn into a happily ever after. There were lots of emotions and drama involved in this story, and also a hint of danger where she was left, struggling to live, but it all worked out in the end.

I really enjoyed this book, but Stella, for all her strength and independence sure does like to jump into relationships that are more like a rollercoaster ride. This had all the fun. Age gap, billionaire, ex-boyfriend’s dad, emotional chaos. I think he fell first, but it always gets me that the younger woman has more emotional maturity than the self made billionaire. A bid of an abrupt ending. That’s probably what I liked the least. Their was mention of the lifestyle he lived, it seemed important to him, but we never really saw that explored much.

I was very interested in the story but to be honest there’s a lot of grammar errors and some of the scenes bounce around. For instance there’s a scene where he has her blindfolded and up again a wall in the living room but the next paragraph has her on the floor in the bedroom not blindfolded anymore but no context on how they got there. If I’m being honest it seems like a story for one of those free reading apps. I didn’t really seem how a publisher didn’t catch all the mistakes in the book. I will say I loved the characters and the story I just think it was written poorly and not double checked for errors.

In this book we meet Stella & Elio. Stella gets dumped in a restaurant by a man she had given everything to and years of his life. So she decides to take her issues to his father Elio in the hopes that he will at least help her. Elio knows it is wrong to feel what he does about his son's girlfriend but he just can't help himself. The more he tries to keep distance between them the more he finds himself growing closer. Can these two find a HEA or will it be over before it even really begins?
Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
The first 40% of the book had my attention. But the MMC is supposed to be a 40 something year old man, but he acts like a teenager. The plot would speed up and slow down a lot after 50%. The spice was horribly written or half written, so if you’re looking for spice, you won’t find it here.
Spoilers after this point:
They broke up and got back together so much it seemed. Got back together in the last like 3% and went straight to engaged. Stella and Owen were just magically ok with each other, and Owen was just magically ok with Elio. The pacing in this book was horrible.
What can I say about this book Well, Elio is a coward, Owen is a delusional prick, and Stella is determined but has no self-worth. I loved the little brother Leo but don't understand why he was in a care facility, I really hoped they would have taken him out of that in the end. How could she afford 8k per month for the care facility whilst training to be a nurse and having an expensive apartment. Why was she at a desk at work when she was a waitress. Im dyslexic and I picked up on the multiple spelling and grammar mistakes. I'm sorry it's a nope from me. The stars went down the more I read this book. It could have been so good, too.
Stella is out eating with her boyfriend when he tells her he’s breaking up with her. She devistated. After she put her career on hold so that he could finish school. She worked two jobs, paid for food, rent everything She decides she can’t keep her apartment. Her best friend Anastasia tells her to move in with her a until she can find her own place a a job She gets a job in a gentleman’s club. Then Anastasia tells her to go see her ex’s da to see if he would reimburse her for everything she did for his son. He writes her a check. This is a fantastic book. A must read. The characters and storyline are great
