Natural Temptation is the third book in Anna Durand's Au Natural Nights series--a spin-off from the main Au Naturel series. We first made the trip to the Au Naturel resort on Heirani Motu with Holly and James in Natural Obsession, before making a second return trip to the island in Natural Deception with Craig and Vanessa. Now, we're back going three-for-three with a third trip and once more, with a brand new leading couple shedding both their inhibitions and their clothes.

What do you get when you mix a woman who is looking to break away from her past, and a man who just wants to keep his head down and get on with his work? An opposites attract, spicy, age-gap romance set on a uniquely picturesque, luxuriously decadent nudist resort.
Meredith is a woman laden with grief, finding that it is doing the craziest of things to her as a result. Seeking the company and support of a group of ladies who also happen to be fellow widows like herself, they find themselves winding their way to tropical climes in the pursuit to shake off their old lives at said nudist resort where clothes are forbidden, and absolutely anything goes (as long as it is consensual).
Including, one general manager.
Ryan Kimble, new general manager of Au Naturel Naturist Resort South Seas, doesn't yet know what is to come his way in the form of one older woman (by nine years). Equally, Meredith wasn't meant to know that she would be captivated by a man with a killer body who happens to be nine years younger than her. Neither betted on crossing paths with the other, but when on an island together, all paths lead back to the resort where they will be in constant orbit of one another.
It was only a matter of time where they give in to what was brewing between them. But who will cave first?
Having made the trip to the island twice before and loving every moment of it, I was keen to see if the third time would be the charm. I'm pleased to say that overall, it was. Anna's writing style and flow is as flawless and easy to navigate as always, and she can always be counted on for a great reading experience. Sticking with a more mature couple in age than is usually seen in romance novels was also something to be commended on, as her older couples (not elderly) are always written with the dignity and grace that they deserve to have.
Ryan and Melanie did bring the spice, but in my opinion it was definitely more subdued and on the milder side than what we saw in the two previous books. Things 'wrapped up' quicker, if you know what I mean, and less happened on the page and more in our imaginations giving it more of a 'closed door' romance feel. I had expected--again given the two previous books and the bar they set--for this book to be on the same lines as what we've already read earlier on in the series. It was a surprise to find otherwise, but that doesn't mean that this book was bad or lacked. If it was advertised to be milder in spice, the rating I personally gave it would have been slightly higher--knowing that going in.
Simultaneously, the 'big event' in this book was less of a shock due to the fact that it had occurred in the other two books as well. Being used twice was just fine, as it differed sightly so it wasn't the exact same, but the big event felt a bit repetitive. Again, Anna wrote it well, I just would have preferred something different to happen to the island entirely to change things up a bit.
Ryan, at times, did come across more as a man in his 20's rather than the mature man he is in his 40s, but I'm willing to overlook that minor niggle as he and Meredith as a couple were well-suited for one another. Both were written as a couple, brilliantly. Meredith on her own was a delightful FMC in her own right. Likeable and relatable, I hold her in high regard as one of my top female characters from the series.
Despite the few things that were minor setbacks to this latest instalment getting a higher rating, I'm pleased to say that it did not put me off making another return if Anna so chooses to bless us with another couple at the resort. I certainly won't object to returning to a place where I know all kinds of shenanigans can still take place.
Here's to looking forward to the next novel from one of my favourite writers!

What to say ... what to say …
Well, I did not not like the story overall, but it was not what I expected. Now, I know expectations are normally a reader issue and not a writer issue because we all have our own preconceived notions about things, but in this case, my expectations came from the book’s marketing, so not really a me thing, right? When you combine the cover of the book with the some of the sentences in the blurb, you come to expect a sexually driven story. That is not what I listened to. Sure, our MCs had sexual encounters, and some were spicy-spicy, but too many were *sigh* not. I mean, it’s a nudist resort people LOL fade to black is just … no. Combine that somewhat disappointment with the fact that even with 7 hours of listening time, the story and characters felt very underdeveloped to me. I’m not going to go into a detail plot-point discussion of what was what for me, because again, I did not NOT like the story, it just was missing something for me …
The age-gap was handled well and I love that it was not a typical age-gap in that Meredith was older and also the gap still had them both squarely in the adult phase of their lives. #IYKYK The pacing of the story of the storyline was done well, but there were some repetitive plot-points that either should have been fleshed out or taken out completely. The insta-connection between Ryan and Meredith felt true to the concept of the story but Ryan’s back and forth was repetitive and honestly, a bit annoying at times.
🎧 The narration by James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers saved the day for me! And you know what, it happens. I love to read and/or listen to romance fiction. I’ve been doing both for many years and there are some occasions where narration is done so well that I get so lost in the performance that everything else just falls away and becomes background. Feel me? I honestly didn’t feel any of the above #twitchiness until I sat down to analyze my experience and write my critical review. There is no better compliment I could bestow on the narrators. Thank you both for elevating my experience with Natural Temptations!

This may be hard to believe but Anna Durand is a new author to me.
When I read the blurb for this book I was intrigued as I don’t recall reading a book set in an adults-only nudist resort before.
This is Ryan Kimble, interim general manager of Au Naturel Naturist Resort South Seas and widow Meredith’s story.
It’s not often that I read a book where the woman is older than our hero but that’s the case with this book.
Natural Temptation is at times an emotional, romantic, well written, entertaining story that ticked numerous boxes for me.
From the moment they met they had a connection but Ryan is determined not to cross the line with one of his guests.
I really loved both characters who are at different places in their lives and yet they cannot help the pull of attraction that sizzles between them.
I enjoyed the development as their relationship progressed and was cheering them on to take a chance.
The narration by Narrated by James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers brought the characters to life for me. Their voices were easy to listen too and they brought all the passion, drama, romance and humour to their performances.

I have never been to a nudist resort, and in this listen I was able to live vicariously through Meredith and experience the beauty of insta-attraction and love. Anna Durand is new author for me, James Cassidy is a new voice actor, and Lucy Rivers is a comfort voice I love falling back into.
Meredith is a 52 year old widow on a vacation to a New Zealand nudist resort with some girlfriends she met through a grief support group. Ryan is the general manager of the resort and a decade younger. He is immediately attracted to Meredith’s effervescent energy and they engage in a hot vacation tryst that blossoms into a beautiful love story.
Lucy is a gem as Meredith. She portrays Meredith as a mature woman, which is so refreshing in contemporary romance. Meredith simply wants to let loose and enjoy herself, and that comes through in Lucy’s performance. Meredith has curiosity , lust, and caution coursing through her veins and Lucy does such a good job at displaying all of the sides of Meredith. Also, Lucy voices the secondary characters beautifully….my favorite being some resort folks who have a New Zealand accent that is so delicious. Adding this detail to the corner of my brain that wants to know “what other Lucy books feature this accent?”
James Cassidy is new to me and I loved him as Ryan. Ryan is a former military man and has been living somewhat contentedly in his job, but is looking for his elusive happily ever after. He pursues Meredith with passion and falls hard for her, and I love how James brought this out of Ryan as the story developed. His voice is such a nice match with Lucy’s in this story, and the two of them together made this story an enjoyable listen.

As a listener, be prepared for this story to feel fast paced and for the characters connection to move quickly. I felt like it was a nice break in the pattern of some slow burns I had recently listened to.

After meeting three other widows, the four have found solace together and now are off on an adventure like no other. Upon arriving, Meredith catches the eye of the new manager, Ryan. A bit younger, handsome and his first day, he shouldn't be checking the guest out. But there is something about Mer, as he calls her. She is ready for a fling, but he can't co-mingle with the guests, can he? This is a fun one for so many reasons. Yes, it's sensual from the start, but it's not just a physical thing. Durand weaves a love that is instant, and so strong it's hard to combat. Ryan is torn, after all, he should be working. He has secrets he's not sure any woman could overlook. Meredith is lustful, and though she understands he has to work, the pull between them is too strong to ignore. I loved this for the second chance at love the two of them find, the way they just fit and the obstacles they overcome to find love. It's hot and passionate and all the good feels. And I can't forget traveling to other resorts! I can't wait for some spin offs! Loved this listen!
Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy are the story tellers, and they are a fabulous pairing. Their voices compliment each other perfectly. Rivers is Meredith and I love the sass and confidence she gives her. The nuances in her voice let me know exactly her feelings and she is amazing. Cassidy is a bit on the reserved side as Ryan at first, but he definitely finds that feistiness. He gives Ryan all the feels and together the two create a vacation bubble to escape in. Loved it!

She is ready for a fling, but he can't co-mingle with the guests, can he? This is a fun one for so many reasons. Yes, it's sensual from the start, but it's not just a physical thing. Durand weaves a love that is instant, and so strong it's hard to combat. Ryan is torn, after all, he should be working. He has secrets he's not sure any woman could overlook. Meredith is lustful, and though she understands he has to work, the pull between them is too strong to ignore. I loved this for the second chance at love the two of them find, the way they just fit and the obstacles they overcome to find love. It's hot and passionate and all the good feels. And I can't forget traveling to other resorts! I can't wait for some spin offs! Loved this listen!
Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy are the story tellers, and they are a fabulous pairing. Their voices compliment each other perfectly. Rivers is Meredith and I love the sass and confidence she gives her. The nuances in her voice let me know exactly her feelings and she is amazing. Cassidy is a bit on the reserved side as Ryan at first, but he definitely finds that feistiness. He gives Ryan all the feels and together the two create a vacation bubble to escape in. Loved it!

So, long story short: Meredith is a widow who goes on vacation with three of her other widow friends to the Au Naturel Resort, where she is instantly attracted to Ryan, the resort’s interim director, who seems equally smitten with her.
The connection feels a little forced – there are superlative talks about feelings that are weird in the beginning, considering they only had small talk and eye contact.
Meredith was very pushy, Ryan was acting weird: one minute pushing her away, the next minute going down on her, then freaking out about kissing her, then putting remote-activated vibrators in her pants.
I’m not a fan of Meredith’s POV. It’s a combination of school-girl crush, endless conversations with her friends about Ryan, and pointless inner monologue about the island and her feelings for Ryan. Her friends are pushy and nosy and I don’t like them at all. None of them, including Ryan, act like the mature people they are supposed to be (in their 40s and 50s). I cringed so hard.
Did you have “ex-Navy SEAL, can’t open up to anyone but her, tragic lost-someone-on-a-mission backstory, and that’s why I came here” on your bingo card for Ryan’s big secret? Shocker, I know.
I DNF’d it around the 50% mark. Not even James Cassidy’s sexy voice could make me want to finish this borefest.

I loved the instant chemistry between Meredith and Ryan. Both are at different points in their lives but are also looking for more than what they have now. Meredith is an older widow on holiday with her "grief group" friends looking to start a new chapter in her life after a mostly loveless marriage. Ryan tries to avoid his attraction to Meredith, wanting no distractions in his life or from his job. Meredith isn't having it. This reverse age-gap romance gives us all the things we love...great characters, heartwarming/heartbreaking situations, and lots of steamy scenes from the "naturists". A bonus is having previous characters from the line of resort books pop in for an update. The story did kind of drag a little for me at times, but I love this series and this was another great addition.
The dual narration was fantastic! James Cassidy has been popping up in my earbuds a lot lately...and I'm okay with it. He is a natural (see what I did there) at romance narration and I hope to hear much more from him. Lucy Rivers is a well-known narrator and gave us the brilliant performance we would expect. This is book 3 in Durand's Au Naturel Nights and this is the first book in the series I've had the pleasure to read / listen. I very much enjoyed the dual narration which did a great job with our main characters of Ryan and Meredith as well as other characters. Accents, tones and pitches change accordingly and are done wonderfully. The storyline was a little lack luster for me and some of the concepts were repetitive, especially with the character turmoil's but I very much enjoyed the concept of a natural resort. I also think that these books may be better appreciated if read / listened in series order but I don't feel I missed too much starting with this book in the series. I loved the characters and their interactions, their chemistry and the character growth. The balance of adventures and romance both sweet and steam was done well. The teaser with a new guest has me excited for the next book in this series. Overall, I steamy, fun romance read/listen.

Ryan Kimble is the new interim general manager of Au Naturel Naturist Resort, a nudist resort on a remote private island in the South Seas. Ryan, a former Navy SEAL, suffers from self-doubt as he tries to prove himself and get the position.
Meredith is a fiftyish widow traveling for a two-week stay at the resort with her fellow widows Lila, Zara, and Maya. Meredith spies Ryan and thinks he “is quite possibly the most gorgeous man” she has ever seen. Meredith doesn’t let the fact that Ryan is nine years younger bother her, and the age difference definitely doesn’t bother Ryan.
I liked that the author celebrates the human body – “young, old, fit, curvy” – and that the vacationers are able to feel to inhibition of being without clothes and the cares from back home. I also appreciated the humor interjected throughout. My favorite was the discussion of the “Sahara Desert Effect” of being mature women. This is a feel-good story about the liberation of shedding the past (clothing) and looking for a happy future. This was an enjoyable book, and I recommend it.

I listened to the audiobook and the audio performances were both really well done. James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers were both easy to listen to and I'm sure that I liked the story more because I listened to it.
This is the first book I've read in the Au Naturel Nights series and it can definitely be read as a stand alone. There are very few references to characters from previous books.
The story itself wasn't exactly what I expected it to be. There were some great passages related to personal growth that stood out as well done, though it's hard to say what "happened" during the story. Most of the steamy scenes were concentrated at the beginning of the story, while the majority of the book contained brief references to what happens off the page. That was also the case for the other activities the characters did together (references to scenes not included in the story). On page there was a lot of character thoughts and references to things they did off the page, more telling than showing.

Natural Temptation is Book 3 of Au Natural Nights series. It's a spicy, reverse age gap, midlife, opposites-attract, vacation romance. Meredith is a smart and sassy widow who is on vacation with some other fellow widows. They decide to go to the Au Natural Nudist resort. Ryan is the hunky interim general manager who is an ex-SEAL and suffers from PTSD. He is 9 years younger than Meredith. The two experience a connection instantly and are attracted to one another. But both have some baggage to deal with. Meredith initially thinks she could have a fling, but these two have real feelings. I loved this book and seeing this group of women embrace life with grace and humor. I could totally relate to them. She and Ryan were so good for each other. The chemistry was hot, and the ending was happy. I would definitely recommend this book!.

Natural Temptation by Anna Durand is a captivating read. This later in life, second chance at love, contemporary romance is a compelling story full of emotion and heart. The emotional connections and friendships of the main women characters is so well written. I love their story and how they came to be such supportive and steadfast friends. I also love the emotion, heart, romance, and steamy connection between Ryan and Meredith. They are wonderfully written characters that grow and evolve throughout the story. The author did a fantastic job of world building and drawing me into the story. I was engaged from start to finish. I highly recommend Natural Temptation. It is book 3 of the Au Naturel Nights series but can be read as a standalone.

The narrator's did an amazing job. I honestly could listen to these two all day. All the emotion is perfectly portrayed. Ryan is the manager at Au Natural and Meredith is a guest. They have this instant attraction that Ryan fights at every turn. I really enjoyed their journey to finding themselves and a path together. These two have dealt with so much and have lots of emotional baggage. This book has lots of steamy encounters in paradise and wonderful characters. I will say it did feel a little rushed at times and I struggled with some of the dialogue. Overall a good listen.

This third story in the Au Naturel Nights series was more of a sweet romance than a spicy affair. The attraction between Ryan and Meredith is a love letter by their eyes. There is a line that Meredith thinks "As Ryan pulls me closer, I marvel at how far we have come. From two broken souls seeking solace on this magical island to soulmates ready to face whatever life throws our way - together" that really emphasizes how special the resort has become to the many who have taken the chance to try something a little more risque than normal.

I enjoyed the premise of this age gap, opposites attract, vacation romance, but it felt like there was something missing. Based off of the blurb I had some expectations on the level of spice going into this book and while there was some spice most of the scenes felt sort of fade to black. The story started off really interesting and the premise really had potential, but if fell flat. The characters were likable, but not well developed.
The narration by James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers was fantastic and these two made this audiobook such an enjoyable experience.

I found the story to be emotionally charged and healing. While learning the reasons for why Ryan came to the island to work, as well as Meredith with her friends from her group, I devoured the book to find out why. The characters make you invested, while the attraction fires your blood. I so enjoyed the book I didn’t want it to end.

Narrators Lucy Rivers and James Cassidy bring Meredith and Ryan to life in this age gap, spicy story! Meredith and some friends decide to vacation to a nudist beach where she eyes the new general manager in more ways than one. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. This particular story is a little less steamier than the previous two books but that does not make it any less good. Anna Durand knows how to bring the heat.

I loved this story! The main female character goes on a vacation and meets the male main character. The attraction between those two was juicy and that fact that you can be naked in the hotel resort was different. But, I loved how free spirit everyone is. The romance was delicious and spicy. Overall, I definitely recommend this story. James Cassidy and Lucy Rivers did a wonderful job narrating this story.
