Deadly Divination
When retired witch Brighton Skeenbauer attends a lecture debunking Coventry's "superstitions," she doesn't expect the presenter to end up dead - especially not arranged in an ancient ritual pattern that only a real witch would recognize. Too bad Brighton's the only real witch left in town (unless you count her wisecracking familiar Meri, which she usually doesn't).
Between investigating the murder, protecting genuine magical artifacts masquerading as "historical curios," and helping her daughter pack up for her new modern dream home, Brighton's got her hands full. And that's not counting a suspicious academic who keeps turning up with his camera at the worst possible times.
At least her granddaughter Hekate still chats with a family ghost. Too bad nobody believes her - except Brighton, who probably should stop encouraging this sort of thing. But what's a witch to do when murder and magic collide in a town that's forgotten its own history?

Another disappointment
Another Brighton story read first pages and skipped to end to see if anything worthwhile happened no such luck. Not a fan of this path.

Another wonderful story the familiar Kitten stories are so good I can’t get enough of them. I know the series will come to an end but I don’t want it to.

Love this series. So easy to get lost in. Can't wait to read the next. Hopefully the magic returns to all of Coventry.

I couldn’t finish. I can’t stand seeing Kinsley selling all her ancestors magic artifacts and how blind she is.
