One kiss. One secret celebrity. One completely unexpected fake relationship.
I never meant to kiss Owen Hastings. I barely even know him. But when I embarrass myself in front of half the school, it seems like the only option.
That’s when I find out the truth: Owen’s not just the new guy. He’s a secret celebrity, hiding out at boarding school to prepare for his next big role.
And now he’s offering to be my fake boyfriend to cover up the mess I made and help him blend in.
It sounds like the perfect solution... except for one tiny problem: the real Owen is nothing like I expected, and pretending not to fall for him gets harder every day.
How can I keep my feelings in check when the boy everyone’s dreaming about is pretending to be mine?
Clara Nielsen writes sweet & swoony YA romances set in high school, all about shy girls and the boys who are head-over-heels for them. When she’s not busy writing, you’ll probably find her out on the lake, putting together the perfect playlist, or sipping on a chai latte while daydreaming about her next story.

this high school romcom follows avianna, a student absolutely obsessed with her popularity, and who’s still learning to navigate through life five years after the passing of her dad.
she finds herself thrown into a situation where the only option is to strike up a fake relationship with a secret celebrity feigning as a fellow student.
the general idea of the story was cute, but honestly could’ve been executed better. owen, as a character, was so unbelievable boring, and the pacing was a mess towards the last 25% of the book. i found avianna’s obsession and NEED for popularity weird from the beginning, and her constantly whining about it made it hard for me to take her seriously.

~One kiss. One secret celebrity. One completely unexpected fake relationship...
-More Than This, is the third delightful story in the YA Westwood Academy series, by author Clara Nielsen. While you don’t need to read the first two books to follow this story completely, I would still recommend you do, so you are able to get and enjoy the the full scope of this enjoyable and sweet series and characters along the way! This is a story where the main girl, Avianna is seeking a way into popularity and has her sights set on Daniel, who is one of the most popular boys at Westwood Academy. Her plan to get noticed quickly backfires and she makes a quick course adjustment with new student Owen, who has rather a big secret of his own. And so begins their fake dating relationship. What starts out as superficial takes a deeper change into real friendship. I enjoyed watching how Avianna discovers that she has some depth of character and is willing to risk what she thinks she wants for love. This quick-paces story is full of humor, sparks of chemistry, healing, and also some depth. 🙌🏻📚☺️
“I don’t care if you’re famous or not. I came here because I love you.”
-Content: some sensitive topics, including grief following the sudden death of a close family member (in the past), some underage drinking.
The story follows Avianna Rainn & Owen Hastings, who ended up fake dating when a plan backfired. This is the third installment of Westwood Academy, tho it isn’t necessary to read the previous books but I kinda felt a loss of connection by skipping the previous two books.
This book was super cute. Their banters made me smile.
Owen was adorable, supportive and walking green flag. I felt the lack of his backstory and perspective due to single pov. Avianna was like a typical high school girl who was desperate for any ounce of popularity. Honestly speaking it was hard to connect to her cuz of this.
I also liked the mystery subplot of Avianna’s mom and Mr. Jamison relationship. The grief element and how Clara portrayed the raw vulnerability of Avianna going through her father’s loss was reflective.
“Pain is the price of feeling. But I would never undo loving with my whole heart, even if it means having to grieve with my whole soul.”
I feel like the romance was quite rushed and ended up being superficial. I would have loved to read about their dynamics in depth. Anyways it is a novella so it's understandable the underdevelopment.
Tropes:

If you are looking for a short read for your afternoon, this book is a perfect pallate cleanser.

This was my first time reading Clara Nielsen’s work, starting with this installment of the Westwood Academy series.
I have mixed feelings about this book and the story it tells.
I struggled to connect with Avianna as a character. Her obsession with popularity and her willingness to do anything to achieve social status in high school felt unrealistic and hard to relate to. Her relationship with Owen also lacked depth for me—it progressed too quickly and didn’t feel fully developed. Unfortunately, Avianna herself didn’t go through significant growth as a protagonist, which left me wanting more.
That said, the story does have its strengths. The way the author explored the theme of grief was handled with care, and it gave me a glimpse into Avianna’s more vulnerable side, which I appreciated.
Since the book doesn’t include Owen’s perspective, it’s harder to form a full opinion about his character. While he seemed like a genuinely kind person at first, I didn’t feel attached to him either. One moment in particular stood out—when Avianna opened up about the accident, his brief and somewhat dismissive response didn’t sit well with me at all.
The story has a lot of potential, and with some refinement—more emotional depth, stronger character development for Avianna, and richer, more meaningful dialogue—it could truly shine.
MORE THAN THIS is the third book in the Westwood Academy series by author Clara Nielsen. Readers do not have to read the first two books to follow this story completely.
Avianna is seeking a way into popularity and has her sights set on Daniel, who is one of the most popular boys at Westwood Academy. Her plan to get noticed backfires and she makes a quick course adjustment with new student Owen, who has a big secret of his own. And so begins their fake dating relationship.
What begins as kind of shallow and extremely superficial takes an obvious but nice detour into friendship. Avianna discovers she has some depth of character and is willing to risk what she thinks she wants for love.
In the interest of full disclosure, I am not the intended demographic for this novel. I chose to read it based more on the prep school aspect. What I know of prep schools began with reading old Dana Girls mysteries and ended with The Facts of Life. That said, the subplots with nemesis Josie and Avianna's mom's relationship with Mr. Jamison were more interesting to me.
MORE THAN THIS is well-written and is an enjoyable read for a quiet afternoon or evening.
I received an advance reader copy from the author through BookSirens, for which I thank them. All opinions are mine.
Having finished reading the last book in the series, I am currently processing my emotions. As I had been engrossed in the band's story for so long, the triplets had faded from my memory. Aviana, one of the triplets, took her father's death extremely hard, as evidenced by her refusal to acknowledge his memory. Her aimless existence was marked by a misguided pursuit of popularity. Aviana's chance meeting with Owen occurred under embarrassing circumstances, leading to a fake relationship due to a secret he kept hidden. This arrangement yielded amusing moments, prompting laughter. However, certain scenes evoked strong emotions, causing me to empathize with Aviana's struggles and cry. I have never felt such a deep connection to characters as I did with Aviana. I am thrilled that she found healing through confiding in someone, resulting in a satisfying conclusion.

The young adult books by Clara Nielsen based around various high schools and some boarding schools are all very sweet and clean.
I enjoy them although I am not the target audience - I feel that they help me understand young students.
I have not read any of the stories in a particular order and this one takes up the story of triplets whose father dies in a car accident and the guilt that the main character feels as she was not in the car…… the what ifs….
The author really gets the teenage way of worrying, speaking and hyperventilating when looking for validation and or love.
I enjoyed the plot of fake romance and true friendship/love that results from this. The side stories of the bullies, the siblings, friends, parents, teachers and other staff make up these books too.

This book was adorable as f***! I genuinely mean it when I say that I enjoy her YA romcoms (I say genuinely because this is an unbiased opinion since I love this girl and she is such a dear friend of mine). When I first started reading her books, I was interested in the dynamics and how layered her characters are, even for interconnected standalones. Her writing styles is like a warm hug and I was hooked from the first page.
I was obsessed with how adorable Owen is (and a little quirky, imo). Then again, I’m a sucker for a British accent, hahaha. And Avi’s sass is something to marvel at, especially for a teenager. I found myself laughing a fair amount as I was reading this book.
Like all my reviews, this is spoiler-free! I do, however, have a document that lists all my reactions as I read this book from start to finish. If you’re interested in seeing this, leave me a DM.
This story is the third book in the series of the YA Westwood Academy series. While you don’t have to read the other books to understand the storyline, it does help to be able to understand some of the character connections.
Avianna writes a note to a boy who she secretly crushes on. Little does, she know this boy has a girlfriend and gets teased about the letter. To save herself, Aviana tries to cover it up and explain that the letter was for Owen, the new boy at school. Aviana and Owen enter into a fake relationship where they learn more about each other’s past and secrets.
The story reminds me very much of a meet, cute storyline with a movie star, and a crazy best friend.
Trigger warning about a death in the past with a family member.

ARC REVIEW - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - I absolutely loved this book!!
Avianna was such a good main character. She had so much character growth and by the end she was one of my favorites. Owen was a top tier man. He was just *chef's kiss* Their banter and just all of their interactions were so cute!
I loved the writing! It was perfectly paced and it read almost like a journal but not as low-level. This book was a little slow and repetitive, but overall just an amazing read. This was by far my favorite in the series! I feel like it was so much more emotionally investing.

Thanks to BookSirens and Clara Nielsen for the ARC!
This is book 3 in the series each surrounding the life of one of the triplets . This one is the last in the series and follows avianna and Owen in their journey together . Avianna is obsessed with popularity and believes if she dates Daniel for a short period she can use him as a stepping stone into the popular crowd . Owen is the one who is subjected to a surprise kiss when avianna kisses him out of nowhere.
Tropes: Secret identity Fake dating Celebrity romance
They make a contact and agree to fake date under the circumstances for the three weeks he is there learning about teenage life for a role of an upcoming movie he is scheduled to star in.
I liked seeing the characters grow. Owen was shy at times as he wasn’t sure what to do at times as he has been tutored since he was young and has no real life experience in going to school. Avianna is trying to find her purpose as her other siblings have theirs but she has yet to find hers.
There was part of the book where was kinda like Deja vu from another book but not 100% .
This story will leave you with a smile on your face. It completes the Triplet Tales following Avianna. It delves once more into grief and how it can affect a person, in this case creating someone who feels she can never be vulnerable in love. Avianna is guarded and protects her heart by focusing on popularity and image but all that changes in three short weeks when she meets Owen. Read about how her heart opens up to let the unexpected happen. Also discover more about the love story between the most popular teacher and the head of the girls school who, oh yes, happens to be Avianna's mother.
avianna and owen are so sweet!! i really like this series, not as much as the authors other ones but nonetheless, it’s really quite cute. the whole fake dating, he’s a literal SECRET CELEB that is playing a movie based on a FANFIC about HUDSON FREAKING SHAW. i have literally read his book for goodness sake. it’s adorable though, how its full circle with avi and her friend talking about the fanfic to then them both reading and enjoying it and finally everyone finding out he’s starring in it. TOO FUNNY. i love the premise of the book with her liking a guy, having to lie then KISSING HIM. it’s the funniest. the ending is very normal, he heads away, LOVE how she chases him and WINS BACK HER MANS. owen is a green flag, i ADORE him and this book. the whole element of avis mum and me jamison is also so interesting. each book in this series has talked about it briefly but it’s fun it have wrapped it up in this book. i mean the mystery behind it is crazy and super cool how in the end it was revealed he had left, the dad swooped in and now they back together. overall, real fun. so excited for THE RIVAL HIGH SCHOOL BOOK!!!

Clara Nielsen’s More Than This is the third installment in the Westwood Academy series and delivers a charming mix of humor, heartfelt moments, and a sprinkle of teenage drama.
The story follows Avianna, a high schooler obsessed with achieving popularity, who inadvertently embarrasses herself in front of her peers. Her desperate attempt to salvage her reputation leads to an unexpected partnership with Owen Hastings, the mysterious new student hiding a major secret—he’s actually a celebrity preparing for his next big role. Their fake dating arrangement begins as a superficial ploy but gradually deepens into something more meaningful.
While the premise is fun and engaging, the execution left me with mixed feelings. Avianna’s relentless pursuit of popularity felt a bit exaggerated, making her a challenging character to relate to initially. Unfortunately, her overall development as a protagonist fell short, leaving me wishing for more growth and introspection by the end.
Owen, on the other hand, had his charming moments but didn’t leave a lasting impression. Without his perspective, it was harder to connect with him on a deeper level.
The fake dating trope is executed with lighthearted charm, and the chemistry between Avianna and Owen—while underdeveloped—had its share of sweet and laugh-out-loud moments.
Beyond the romance, the book handles themes of grief and self-discovery with care, giving the story an emotional anchor.
More Than This is an enjoyable, quick-paced YA rom-com with plenty of humor, sparks of chemistry, and heartfelt moments. While it could benefit from stronger character development and richer emotional depth, it’s still a light and entertaining read perfect for a cozy afternoon.

Owen and Avianna were quite the match. Owen is undercover to learn what being a “regular” student is like for his upcoming movie. Avianna is looking for someone to boost her status at school.
I really wanted more out of this story. At times it seemed very disjointed and did not flow. I understand moving the story along. But why all of a sudden do things not make sense is beyond me. The story had good bones but not the best execution.
I loved this book. It was so sweet and cute. Their relationship was just … ah and the coffee just showed how considerate and sweet Owen was. Her parent's relationship honestly showed alot. I needed something sweet to cleanse my palette and this book definitely did the job. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was a very easy to read and very lighthearted book. I just couldn't put this book down and read it very quickly. Highly recommended for anyone who likes to read romance but still wants a little something extra.

This book was so cute ! I love Clara’s writing style and how warm and cozy her stories feel. And i’m a sucker for fake dating. Even better when one of them is a secret celebrity! Quick and easy read, with lots of cutesy feel. Highly recommend!
This series is deeper than the other ones. Kinda like hallmark with slightly more depth. The only reason this one wasn’t a fave was because of how Avi was in the previous books. She also had a few emotional breakdowns. Owen was sweet but deserved better
