A genuinely clear “all-in-one” accounting primer
If you’re looking for a straightforward, beginner-friendly guide that doesn’t make assumptions about your accounting knowledge, Accounting Like a Pro delivers.
What I liked most is the logical progression: it starts with the big picture (why accounting matters), then moves onto the core building blocks (the accounting equation, recording transactions), before getting into the parts most people actually need day-to-day — financial statements, managerial accounting, tax basics, and even investor-style analysis. The real-world examples make it feel relevant whether you’re managing personal finances or running a small business.
The bonus templates are a genuinely useful extra (especially for tracking expenses and building simple reports), and the section on spotting issues like cash-flow problems and fraud is a nice touch. If you want a clear, structured foundation you can build on, this is an excellent choice.

a useful reference for the non-specialist entrepreneur

“Accounting for Beginners (An All-in-One Guide)” by Finance Knights Publications is a comprehensive, 280-page reference work that simplifies and summarizes a broad range of accounting topics, such as the accounting equation, double-entry bookkeeping, financial statement preparation and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) – The authors also include some free bonus materials, such as accounting templates for cash flow management, balance sheets and budget tracking, and they also dedicate a useful additional chapter to detecting and preventing fraud. .

This book should prove to be a useful bookshelf addition for students, less experienced small business owners, and other readers who may be looking for ways to build their understanding of the accounting discipline. .

I bought this book as I am planning to start a small side hustle. To know some basics about finances and accounting. This book got my attention and to my surprise it is easy to start with it is really beginner friendly.

Accounting is a dry subject but the team had made it simple with their tabular column and simple representations. They had given a lot of examples so that we can get a comprehensive idea about the topic.

I loved the assessment questions which are given in the last of every chapter. It helped me
to remmber what they have said.

For me personally financial statement analysis was very helpful as I am also into stock market.

Overall a good book I strongly recommend this book to beginners who are willing to learn accounting

I am not necessarily someone with my own business, but I am thinking about starting one. Administration, accounting, finances, and even taxes always scared me and became a serious mental barrier. After reading this book, I realized most of that fear was in my head.

The concepts are simpler than they seem when explained clearly and without intimidation. You do not need to spend thousands of dollars, at least in the beginning, paying others to handle everything for you. The book helped me feel capable, informed, and calmer, turning uncertainty into confidence and making entrepreneurship feel realistic and achievable for me right now personally today.

A very complete and well-thought-out book for those starting from scratch. It explains financial accounting concepts clearly, without assuming prior knowledge or relying on complex math. The practical approach, real-world examples, and step-by-step structure are especially appreciated.

It’s particularly useful for students and small business owners who want to understand financial statements, taxes, and how to make better decisions using numbers. At times, it can feel a bit dense due to the amount of content, but it works very well as a reference guide.

A good option if you’re looking for a clear and accessible introduction to accounting.

This book walks you through real-world examples step by step and shows how everyday transactions affect assets, liabilities, and equity. It clearly connects those transactions to the main financial statements, which makes everything much easier to understand.

I liked seeing the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and owner’s equity all built from the same examples. The tables and journal entry breakdowns are clear and easy to follow, even if you have no prior accounting experience.

Overall, it’s a solid beginner-friendly guide that explains things well without feeling overwhelming.

Bridging the gap between complex theory and practical application, this book is a comprehensive manual for the non-accountant. It excels by breaking down the Accounting Equation, double-entry bookkeeping, and tax basics into manageable, jargon-free steps that even those "bad at math" can master. While the inclusion of 10 downloadable templates and real-world scenarios makes it an invaluable resource for small business owners and students, some advanced concepts are summarized rather than explored in detail.

Just in time!
A year has passed, and it's time to prepare taxes. I finally wanted to understand accounting without all the complicated jargon. I was looking for exactly this kind of book. Everything is explained in plain language: accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, basic reports. The examples are clear. The templates really help to organize the numbers. A good option not only for beginners but also for those who are already familiar with the subject.

As a small business owner, accounting and bookkeeping can be one of the greatest challenges especially for people who aren't naturally good with math. This guide is well designed and breaks everything down in an easy to understand format. It is clear and to the point unlike the thick accounting books I have tried to read in the past.

Even with the assistance of AI which I usually don't particularly like, for a topic like accounting, it works well to create an easy to follow, logical flow of topics. The book provides a lot of examples for each section and quizzes to test your knowledge. Recommend!
