Finally Living Their Destined Lives -
Even though Melanie met Lucas for the first time when he rescued her on the side of the road, but the sparks between them led to them spending the next couple of days engaging in passion filled encounters. However, Melanie met Lucas agreed to part ways at the end of her trip, which led to her keeping a secret from him for months. Nevertheless, fate had other plans for them, which led to them meeting each other months later, where her secret could no longer be hidden.
Whilst Melanie had no intentions of reuniting with Lucas, they found themselves in a situation where he wasn’t prepared to walk away, especially when he discovered there was a potential threat against them. Spending time together allowed Lucas and Melanie to slowly build their relationship, as they prepared for the impending change in their lives. Luckily, Lucas and Melanie were able to work together to not only ensure their, but also work towards the happily ever after they didn’t know they wanted.
The gripping romance story quickly pulled me in from the first chapter and eagerly turning the pages anxiously to see how things would turn out. The attraction between the characters was fiery and when wonderful to see how the protective instincts of the main male took over the moment the possibility of danger arrived. You won’t be disappointed by reading this captivating story with twists, that will keep you totally engrossed all the way through to the end.

A Very Bumpy Christmas is a bodyguard romance with a one night stand turning more. This is Melanie and Lucas’s story filled with lots of surprises and unexpected moments. I love their connection and banter is hilarious. Also love the protectiveness when things get interesting in their life. I also like the way they picked up where they left off and the chemistry!! 💜 I really enjoyed their story.

First off, the cover of this book so so cute. Second, this whole book was such an adorable read and I loved Mel and Lucas. This was a very fast paced novella with a mix of humor/love/ and a hint of spice!! This was a great little holiday read and I can’t wait to read about the other characters!! I love the Maddox Security series. This one had me stumped what the case was that Lucas was involved in the whole time. Normally you understand the case and who they are surveilling. Though this was a great Christmas love story. I love how Melanie and Lucas met at the dog rescue. How they said to each other we know we can’t be together but still both wanted it. Lucas had to leave early after their amazing night together for an assignment. Hated leaving her but had to. He tried to keep in touch but Melanie finding out she’s pregnant makes her ghost him. His assignment brings him to Melanie’s town. Where he finds her pregnant in a baby store. Shocked him so bad that it knocked the wind out of him. She lies and tells him it isn’t his. He takes her on her word but doesn’t believe it for a minute. Then they keep running into each other and he knows then it’s his when she blurts it out as she has Braxton hicks. He then becomes Mr Safety and Mr Hydrate. Keeping her hydrated. The two become a duo and he’s her rock. Week before Christmas the blizzard hits and so does baby.

What's not to love with a Logan Chance novel? And does he deliver with Melanie and Lucas's story!
An emotional feel good romance in all the right ways. Everyone needs a Lucas in their lives. Always placing Melanie first as his number 1! It's Swoon Worthy!
Having a hot and smutty meet up for a weekend, both citing they don't do complicated seemed to suit them both! Living across the country from each other that when they leave each other and head back to their own lives, they both secretly hope the other rings or attempts to make contact.
A few ignored phone calls and text messages and Lucas receives the message loud and clear.
Melanie has moved on!
Then Lucas is in Saint Pierce for work 7 months later, and doing his usual look around, he sees her! Melanie, the woman he has been unable to forget.
Well, as per the blurb we all know Melanie is carrying a big secret, which he immediately sees when he enters the shop....A baby bump! But who is the father?
As Lucas adjusts to the idea he may be the father to Mel's baby, she shoots him down as she tells him the father's name is Freddie!
So begins the second chance for Lucas, as when Mel needs a helping hand Lucas seems to be there for her. He is super sweet and as Mel decides to tell him the truth, citing they are only friends and he can see the baby when ever he is in town. Lucas feels a tightness...he doesn't want to be a post card father! How can he convince Mel he wants more?
Lucas falls first....or does he, as Mel harbours secret feelings for the father of her baby.

The sweetest read I have had in a long time and even I had tears in my eyes, on occasion, and No they were not hormonal tears!! But it does lead to a beautiful HEA for Mel, Lucas and their little bundle of Joy.

I love a good oopsie baby story, and this one is magical and perfect and quiet like getting snowed in when you don't want to go out anyway.
Melanie is an influencer who visits her bestie in the mountains to photograph her rescue dogs. A flat tire introduces her to Lucas, the impossibly perfect ops guy who works for Asher.
After delivering Melanie to her friends and his employer, Lucas hangs around and they have an impossibly perfect night. But neither of them "does complicated" so when Lucas tries to reach out later, Melanie doesn't answer, even when she realizes their night came with a souvenir.
Sevem months later, Lucas is on a job in Saint Pierce, Melanie's hometown, and of course they run into each other and of course there's confusion and a bit of drama and incorrect assumptions.
Lucas is faced with dilemmas around his job and life location. Melanie is faced with dilemmas around trusting and letting go of responsibilities. And they deal with some drama around weird guys being uncool, but Lucas and his team handle it.
Logan's writing is beautiful and magical like the snowstorm that sweeps through Saint Pierce. Lucas is an impossibly perfect protector and birth partner, and it turns out he's pretty poetic in a minimalist sort of way. Melanie is strong and snarky in a sweet way and these two are just lovely together.
The spice is steamy but subtle and Ev's birth story is gorgeous and lyrical.

Another super cute read by Logan Chance! This one feels like another chapter in the Men of Maddox Security world — though not officially part of the series — since our main character, Melanie, was first introduced in Defending What’s Mine.
Melanie is best friends with Charlotte, who Asher was assigned to protect in that book. Now, Charlotte and Asher are married, expecting a baby, and running a dog rescue in Denver. Melanie heads there for a weekend of puppies and photos when she gets a flat tire — cue her knight in shining armor, Lucas, who just happens to be Asher’s coworker.
The two hit it off instantly and end up spending the night together, even though they both claim they “don’t do complicated.” Of course, things get a little too real when Lucas shows up working in Melanie’s hometown, and their paths collide again.
This story was sweet, festive, and full of small-town charm — twinkling lights, cozy drinks, and plenty of heart. I really enjoyed the growth both characters showed in such a short book. For two people who swore off “complicated,” they sure made it look warm, cozy, and maybe even a little magical. The ending was perfect — a true holiday happily-ever-after, blizzard and all.

I liked the start when there were references to the rescue dogs the MFC was photographing.
The plot was cute, the MFC, Mel and MMC Lucas, have a passionate one night stand but due to work he has to leave. 7 months later they bump into each other again, however she is 7 months pregnant with his child and he is about to find out. They are both obsessed with each other and so it's not long til they get together again and luckily become a family in time for when their child is born.
'I didnt know home could be a person until you'.
If I'm honest, I found the writing a bit weird at times, and as he was a security man, he kind of spoke like a robot alot and there was technical jargon i didn't know for example:'I know too many EMTs not to respect barometric pressure'.
'Snow has a sound when it's deciding to get serious'
This is probably just me, but the secret code words they used with each other did get a bit annoying at times, as it got so repetitive
like, 'Captain Safety' and 'Copy'
But I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a romance with a hint of danger (they were being watched & followed), alot of humour, splash of spice and a sprinkling of Christmas.

A one-night stand that changes lives forever. A Very Bumpy Christmas is a sweet, strangers, one-night stand that will warm your heart; however, there is a bit of suspense that keeps you on your toes.
Who knew that a flat tire would lead to the love of your life and a surprise that makes Christmas one of the best ones ever.
Melanie and Lucas had an instant attraction; they shared one night because they don't do "complications". The only thing is that life had a Christmas surprise for both of them.
I love how protective Lucas was of Mel. The determination to win her over and make sure she knows that he will always be there makes him a great book boyfriend. Melane is a strong and independent woman who finally lets Luca in after he shows her he is worth trusting. The code talk that Luca uses starts to rub off on Melanie because of the job he is doing. I had to snicker a few times when they were using Gingerbread and Cinnamon Roll for codes.
Overall all a fantastic feel-good book to leave a smile on your face.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Unlike the others in the Maddox Security series, Lucas and Melanie's story has less of the action and suspense but it had the easy to read, sweet and emotional feel good romance in all the right ways.
For 2 people who don't do complicated, an accidental pregnancy was definitely a huge wrench in their plans. But it was wonderful to see how Lucas stepped up and was there every step of the way, laying "sandbags" and "asking and not assuming" what Melanie needed. Melanie's mix of fearless independence and vulnerability made her real and likeable. I loved them as individuals and as a couple. Add in the cute dogs (I loved how their personalities came through) and you have the perfect recipe of a great book. The ending was awesome and perfect for a feel good holiday romance - fun, flirty, and full of heart.

Logan has once again given us a smart, sexy, sassy holiday story that will certainly warm the cockles of your festive heart. Melanie is just looking for a quick getaway, to take pictures of cute animals and drink some delicious libations with her gal pals. What she gets is a spicy encounter with a tall handsome stoic security specialist. Lucas isn't looking for a relationship, but wow does the sassy photographer pique his curiosity. We can keep it simple right, if you say so. When Melanie goes home, she takes a bit of a souvenir with her, and she certainly will not be telling Mr. Security about it.
Lucas finds out and things just got very interesting as he inserts himself into every aspect of her world as she can't say that she hates it! This couple is fun, has wonderfully sexy smart banter, have such wonderful chemistry and I loved watching them b=navigate their new normal!!

This gave me all the warm fuzzies, gentle laughs and a few quiet tears. Melanie and Lucas are such beautiful characters. Mel’s artistic, a little messy but open and full of love. Lucas is tactical, honest, protective, sturdy and has the gentlest and sweetest heart.
I loved how we went from one “uncomplicated” night to seven months later where complicated just got interesting.
This has a spicy start full of chemistry, instant connection and cute rescue dogs but turns into a slow burn full of gentle check-ins and tender moments with a side of possible stalker.

I loved the ease of this story, buy that I mean that it flowed very well, had good developed characters and everything was balanced just right for me. I 100% believed in the connection and chemistry between these two, and really liked them together, I wanted to hug them both at different times for the worries, doubts, regrets and for the words they wanted to say but struggled with. I really liked the support they got got, it helped them to self evaluate and helped them work out what they did and didn't want. The way they found to communicate with each other, to say so much with so little words, and how they worked together with their chosen rules and goals just added so much to their story and I so enjoyed reading it.

Logan just keeps getting better and better. I love the Maddox Security men. Each installment is entertaining, great characters, and plenty of steam. Love these guys and the women they fall hard for. Lucas and Melanie’s story has all the intrigue you’ve come to expect in the life of a high end security company of ex specialists. And packed with all the love and sass that makes it a page turner. Their one night together seven months ago left lasting consequences. Melanie is worried about what Lucas’s reaction will be to becoming a father since he was adamant he doesn’t do complicated. Can these two find their way through to their HEA? I really enjoyed this one set with the holiday setting. Looking forward to the next Maddox Security installment. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I've come to love this Author's reads. Lucas and Mel are perfect for each other. When the read starts out the chemistry between these two is undeniable. Both admit and say they don't want complicated, but deep down each of them doesn't want their time to end until it does because Lucas is called for a job. Fast forward and Mel ignores Lucas's text's and phone calls which I think is so stupid. You see their little one nighter made a bun in the oven. LOL Lucus ends up being in the same town as Mel lives in on a job and spots her. When they meet again each of their insecurities gets the best of them. But in the end all is good.
My one question is why on earth when she has the baby and Lucas is by her side the entire time does she give the kid her last name. That kind of made me mad. Oh well

I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this book. It’s completely amazing!! Logan Chance writes these incredible couples. Every time I meet my favorite he introduces another one that’s even better. Lucas and Melanie are on the top of my list. I love the metaphors and tactical romance even the lemons lol.
What a journey Lucas and Mel are on. But even from there weekend 7 months ago, you felt something happening between them. Now with a baby on the way and some unexpected work drama, they are trying to build something beautiful.
I’m so glad these two have there chance for happiness and are able to build a family with their beautiful baby boy.

Ah yes, a flat tire, a handsome rescuer when there isn’t a spare, and puppies! What a great start to an intense and beautiful story.
I was angry at first when lies were told, but when the truth came through, fairly early in the story thankfully, I let my heart swoon. Lucan and Melanie are a match made in heaven. They just get each other and it’s awesome to read.
This is a shorter, but lovable holiday story that has a touch of mystery, and will have you glowing like a ribbon of fairy lights before it is over.
The story is a great one to sit back and enjoy with a cup of cocoa and maybe even some cinnamon buns Copy that.
Logan Chance has successfully brought me into the world of Maddox Security and I know I will be devouring more of this series now.

What a fun read by Logan. This story follows Lucas and Melanie who meet unexpectedly when Melanie is on her way to her friend's cabin to take pictures of dogs that need to be adopted seeing she is an influencer. Their chance meeting happens when Melanie has car trouble along the way and is rescued by Lucas. A quick vacation fling leaves Melanie pregnant and unsure if/how she is going to tell Lucas. However, several months later, he happens to be in her town on a job and they bump into each other and he finds out what is going on. This holiday romance is fun to follow with their chemistry, but also with Lucas on a job, the suspense with how that will turn out keeps you wanting to know what happens next!
